Shutting down jvm from activex bridge
How can I shut down the jvm from my bean packaged as an activex control. Calling System.exit is crashing the host as well.
All you have to do is call Activatable.inactive().I have tried calling Activatable.Inactive() to terminate the JVM without success. Instead I get an exception stating that the object is already inactive, meanwhile the JVM still lingers.
I called the Activatable.inactive from my client program, perhaps this is my problem. Should I call it from within my remote object?

Just downloaded and installed new LR CC. No apparent problems with the D/I on my iMac, OS 10.10.3. however LR CC will not start. I get a momentary flash of the opening screen and then the program shuts down. From the posts it looks like this if a very common problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Have you tried logging out of your CC desktop app, then logging back in again? Quit/Restart won't work, but logging out and back in should. See here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

In my application i want to shut down the PC Automatically when i press certain button provided on the user interface how can i achieve it.
There isn't an independant one, so far as I know...but there may be.
What you could do is use System Exec and the "ver" command, to get
the version, and from there use the appropriate command. Windows
XP uses "shutdown -s", while for 2k it's a little more
complicated. See here.
I've never had any experience with 2003 server myself, so I can't help you there.

And will not start up in safe mode. I have reset PRAM and SMC. Also restarted with no startup items, no luck. Had the problem of waking from sleep and not shutting down in 10.7, updated to 10.8 hoping for fix, no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksHi, this log has some similarities to my ipod touch which seems to be not sleeping properly due to wireless issues. Can I check - are you using a wifi connection - if so have you tried ethernet?

Shutting down jvm using as400 CL
Hi,
Anyone has any idea what AS400 CL command could be used to shutdown a running JVM.
VikThanks for you replies.
Let me tell you what going on. I have a java job that runs in batch environment on AS400. Its tranferring some data. When its done with the last record, the program ends but the status still shows to be active although it doesn't consume any CPU.Same process when ran on local windows machine ends fine.
I think that the program is ending but the since the JVM is still loaded, somehow the spool file doesn't close after the program ends and that keeps the job active. We're having to force shut it down.
So I was wondering if some command could be used in my CL to shut the JVM after program finished off. Now sure if it would take care of the problem.
Any other idea, please post.
Thanks

Shut down comp from local user
Please, If I am login as root, there is an option Log Out and Shutdown computer. If I am login as local user, I can find only Log out button. How can I Shut down from local user? Thanks
wmila wrote:
OK, so anyway, how can I easy shutdown comp from local user?If you have a laptop use the power button. Otherwise you will need to use sudo, rback, or some other software program to elevate your privileges so you can use an admin type command.
An easy way is to just open a terminal window and then su to the root user and issue the init 6 command.

when i started updating my iphone by itune that time my computer shut down and update collapse from that time my screen shows only itune logo and a cable to connect this. already i did but now my phone is not showing in itune
You must have the credentials that were used to turn on Find my iPhone on the device. Without them, you can not get past the activation lock.

Iphone 4 / 4s shuts down frequently from itself
My girl-friend has an iphone 4 and since a few weeks it shuts down frequently spontaneous.
Replaced the battery and totally renewed the IOS. No succes. While doing this, my iphone 4 also shut down spontaneous!
Also replaced the battery and replaced the IOS. No succes. 2 Friends of mine have exactly the same problems with their iphone 4S.
Is there a wifi-virus in Nijmegen, The Netherlands??? Are there more people with this problem??
If shut down, it can be started up again by doing a reset. Our iphones are not reliable anymore.....After I removed Facebook and FB messenger, my iphone problems vanished. No spontaneous shutdowns anymore.
My girl-friend first removed FB messenger with no succes. After removing Facebook, she also is free of problems. -
In the drop down menu of Safari, the "Quit Safari" is not highlighted, therefore I cannot shut the program down.
You need to Force Quit it.
Select Force Quit..., then Safari from the Apple menu.
Or...
Right-click on the Safari icon in the Dock, then select Force Quit. -
Please help me shut down imessage from the computer?

I cant shut down database successfully from OEM
I shut down database from OEM. Then there is an Exception org.omg.corba.No_implement. and the shutdown process failed.
I cant figure out. Please help.
My OS is windowXP I installed Oracle9i
Yes, I can shut down the database normally using sqlplus.
but the OEM still dont work.
The agent looks fine. I pinged the agent. It responed successfully. I refreshed the nodes, and try to shut down again. Still, no luck.
Nothing changed. The shutdown process still failed after rebooting the box.

mayumifan--->Yes, I can shut down the database normally using sqlplus.
--->but the OEM still dont work.
What is the latest errror you get after restart. Is it still the same "Exception org.omg.corba.No_implement"?
If you can start your database from SQLPlus and your system has already been restarted and your agent is responding, there is no need kicking your system up and down.
Check the log files in $ORACLE_HOME (EM_HOME)\sysman\log for errors. Post the errrors for more information. -
Prevent jvm shut down by user + Out of memory
HI all
i have a problem,i have a suspect that one of my customer shut down jvm with Task Manager(Windows XP).
Is possible to block the shotting down operation?
Another question is possible to catch an out of memory (i doesn't know when and where is generated) and show it at the user?
Thanks!!This link should answer your question regarding catching an OutOfMemory error.

Auto shut-down when connecting USB-units (on some units..)
Hi there.. i just bought this mainboard :
MSI K9N Platinum, nForce 570 Ultra, DDR2, Socket-AM2,2xGbLAN,Firew, ATX, PCI-Ex16
Version :
MS-7250
I have read the "shut down" issues from the sticky topics in this forum, and i want to know if this is the same issue...
Here we go :
I have approx 3-4 connected usb units which works perfectly well..
- My 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless USB Adapter
- My wireless keyboard
- A usb memory stick..
These work perfectly well..
I also have a Lacie USB 2.0 External Harddrive which works ok enough sometimes.. but it's kinda unstable..
What doesn't work at all.. is my Sony Ericsson W950i when i connect it to _any_ usb port on my computer..
What happens :
When i insert the usb-cable into the phone.. and win xp (pro sp2) detects the phone, it immidiately shuts down the pc.
Sometimes i have to unplug the power cable for about... 20 seconds to get it to boot again at all.. but most times it's enough to boot as normal.
Is there _anything_ i can do to fix this ? ... or.. do i have to get a replacement motherboard (newer version)..
PS !!!
*I also tried to flash tie bios (the windows way), but after pressing the "start" button for flashing.. nothing happens.. nothing at all.. Weird
Any ideas on this is rewarded with a digital beer
Best regards
Terje.-..-I'll provide some more (a LOT) of information..
It's part of the report from Everest Ultimate Edition...
I have read thorugh all the posts regarding the USB-trouble (which you linked).. but it's not the same problem as i have (atleast it doesn't seem so..)
I didn't connect anything to the 10'th pin (USBOC)..
--> https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=57472.0
As you see from this log.. some usb-units are already listed there.. and a lot of other usb units works perfectly well..
It's just a external harddrive, and my phone (both USB connectors) which shuts down my pc...
