Shutting Down Mailman Web Page

Part of two related questions, how do you go about stopping the Mailman Web Page from running? I've commented out the only relevant alias in httpd.conf and restarted the daemon with no effect. The mail service is shut down in Server Admin. What am I missing?

Problem resolved. Apparently, a hard reboot was required, which seems odd as I restarted the httpd daemon a million times, but there you have it. Comment out mailman references in httpd.conf, restart daemon, if mailman/admin still wanders about like a zombie, give the system a reboot.

From time to time Firefox will not allow me to scroll down a web page, when I scroll down it will jump right back to the top of the web page. Any ideas?

Sometimes when on firefox when I try to scroll down a web page it will immediately jump right back to the top of the web page as soon release the mouse button. When it starts happening it will do this on all open tabs on all web sites.
Just closing Firefox and reopening it does not help, only way I have found to fix this is to reset my computer.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

Pages died today. Just downloaded the latest update 2 days ago. Last night shutting down my very new MacBook Pro, Pages stopped shut down. Today Pages will not open, all my Pages docs cannot open. Help please! Anybody have a fix?

You probably have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 in your Applications folder, will open Pages '09 files but will alter/damage them. It can not open Pages '08 files.
Pages '08/'09 in your Applications/iWork folder which can not open Pages 5 files.
When you were shutting down you probably had an unsaved document open.
You probably are opening the wrong versions of Pages to open the wrong document format.
Pages 5 has had over 90+ features removed.
Most users are going back to Pages 09 whilst Apple sorts this out.

With iOS 8 it's now a built-in app, it can't be deleted/redownloaded.
You've tried closing the app (and other apps) via the iPad's taskbar and done a soft-reset to see if that improves things ?

Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My spry menu bar rolls down my web page as I scroll down page??

Can anyone help?? Created spry menu bar in dreamweaver cs3, looks good but when I scroll down my web page the entire bar moves too.

When I "restore down" a web page, it doesn´t go half size anymore, it disappears into a small firefox box in the top left hand corner of the screen?

I use windows 7. I normally "restore down" a web page to half it´s size, so that I can see 2 or 3 at a time.
This morning, I did this and the pages started to disappear into a little box under the orange firefox logo in the top left of the screen.
I´m not aware that I have changed anything myself and as I am not very I.T. savvy, I hoped someone could tell me what to do to revert to how things worked before.

Scrolling down in web pages causes color saturation

I'm not sure if this should go under Safari or the Mighty Mouse (plugged/not Bluetooth). This just started a couple of days ago. When I use the scroll wheel to scroll down in web pages, the colors and fonts all get continually more saturated. I can't do a screen shot because once I click off the page, the page goes back to normal. I checked the settings for the fonts and it had smooth scrolling set for 8 size or smaller. I set it to 4 and it still is doing the same thing so I'm guessing it's not that.
I have no idea what could be causing this. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with Safari. As I scroll down fonts gradually lose anti-aliasing and in addition all inline images blotch to unsightly colours. Scrolling inline pdfs produces horizontal lines in the viewer pane.
It occurs with trackpad two finger scrolling as well as with the MM's scroll ball.
Rebooting and resetting Safari doesn't help.

IPad1 shuts down to home page or opens an app in the app store

My iPad 1 has been shutting down web sites & returning to my home page. As well, when playing a game like Words with Friends, it will close, sometimes after being open only 20-30 seconds, & reopens to a game in the app store. I have tried closing certain functions of my iPad, as suggested in a different forum, but that made no difference. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

If your account uses a credit card then card must be valid. It doesn't matter whether the app is free or not, you still need to have that valid credit card.

W,indows 7 shuts down at welcome page after a period of time, when user is not logged in.

I have two users on my computer, when they are both logged out and the computer is at the welcome page, I need the computer to stay on , as I need to remote accsess it.But the computer turns off after a period of time, even though in settings, I have all
the power setting to never off.
How do I stop the computer turning it self off, when there is no one logged in, and on the welcome page?

Check in BIOS sometimes for hours shut down.
Is the computer starts then straight without a problem? If you do not check the temperature of the processor.
Start your computer in safe mode and remove programs that start automatically by MSCONFIG

CR 2008 Shuts down on Start page.

Hello,
I am having problems with CR 2008 shutting down as soon as I click to open it. It loads as far as the start page and once the start page is loaded it shuts down. I have uninstalled CR 2008 and reloaded it with all of the appropriate service packs, but it continues to shutdown.
Do you have any suggestions on what I need to do to correct the issue?

After many hourse of searching I figured out my issue. I needed to add the SAP website as a trusted site on the Security tab in Internet Options.

TS3230 When scrolling down a web page, Safari resets to the top of the page and will not stay where I stopped the scroll..

When two finger scrolling in Safari, it resets itself to the top of the web page - not where I stopped.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

For some reason, I can no longer use these laptop touchpad functions: moving up and down a web page, and zooming. Help! I feel handicapped.

This problem has been occurring for perhaps 2 months, and was what encouraged me to upgrade to your latest version. But the problem has followed, even tho I uninstalled the other Firefox before I installed the new version. Your "left-click, drop-down menu has a "save file" command right above the "send to..." command, which I sometimes hit accidentally. I noticed today when I tried to copy&paste an email address that it did it then also, and that is, it triggers the "new tab" command which keeps repeating (like 2 or 3 per second) until I close Firefox completely. Then, Firefox usually reopens itself and resumes the repeating "new tab" command until I close it a second time.

Shut down all programs that are running in the background.
1. Double-click the Home button to see Apps in background
2. Hold the Apps down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close program
4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo

Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

I do not want firefox to try and recover any web pages on start up. Ho do I do this?

Regardless of whether I manually shut down my web pages, Firefox always seems to be trying to recover pages at start up. When I shut down I never want Firefox to recover previous web pages on start up. Just my home page.

A likely cause is that you are first closing all Firefox windows and then close the Firefox application.
Some have reported that closing Firefox (Firefox > Quit) while the browser window is still open works for them.
