Shutting down port 67

How do I shut down port 67 running IOS 12,2(50)?
"no dhcp service" doesn't seem to affect it and I get the following error from "no ip bootp server"
myrouter(config)#no ip bootp server
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

Try port forwarding the Psrt 25 t oa comuter that is not there liks 192.168.1.200 and no comouter uses that IP address.
But that blocks port 25 from others on the network also.

  • K9N Platinum (not SLI) Ethernet/LAN ports shut down

Not sure if this has been up before but i could not find this exact problem. I have the K9N Platinum with am AMD 64x 4200+ CPU and OCZ 1GB x2 mem. My build and install of XP went without incident. My problem is that when I start to download anything of size, the LAN shut down. It will say "cable unplugged". If I switch to the second port, it will be good for a while, then the same thing. The only fix is to reboot. I am connected through a switch. I loaded the latest drivers (nVidia) from the monitor software. I found a different set on the NVidia web site and installed, but now it will not pick up DHCP. It will work if I hard code the IP. I read that it should be using Realtek drivers, not Nvidia. Please help!!! I opened a case with support but they have not answered yet.

That is a start on Specs. You can look at anyone's signatuires here to see what is most commonly looked for in specs. Your are missing the PSU specs.
However one of the first things to try is to go into Bios and set optimized defaults. Then you will need to make sure nothing else in Bios has changed as setting Optimized defaults usually changes things quite a bit.
Then make sure that your using the drivers that came with the board including the NVidia and Network drivers.
You may have to enter Device manager and remove the Network Driver and let it restart.
You did answer one question many folks would have with the specs you gave about memory. The memory you have listed should be fine.

  • I have a belkin 7 adapter for additional USB slots for my Mac Pro. It was working well till just recently I am getting a message that says the usb port on the Mac Pro is shutting down due to a very high power drain. Then it shuts the usb port down.

I have a belkin 7 adapter for additional usb ports for my mac pro. It worked fine without problems till recently when the message regarding usb port drawing too much power and the computer shuts the port on the mac pro down. The strip comes with its own power supply adapter. The attachments are additional hard drives used as backups and independent data. Other than disconnecting it are there any fixes?

You're getting the message because you're exceeding the available current, probably as a result of bus-powered drives. The power sources for hubs are rather small. Try using drives with their own power supplies.

  • Ipod shuffle shuts down PC when put in USB port

    Hello
I found a discussion on this topic from 2006 but there were no solutions.  Hopefully in 2014 there is someone out there that can help me.
I have successfully synced, loaded and recharged ipod shuffle on PC.  But this week I plugged in my ipod shuffle (early generation) into the USB port to recharge, the system shut down, and I got the "blue screen of death". Windows XP blue screen indicated there was some software or hardware that might cause harm to PC.  I had to close PC by pressing button on tower.  I tried couple more times and got same message.  No harm has been done to PC as far as I can tell.  I used the Safely Remove Hardware device and not sure it worked but removed shuffle.  I did do this 2 or 3 times with same result each time.  Ipod shuffle still works.
    Thanks!

I have found the solution.  I installed the most recent updates and it works now.

  • Charging peripherals while iBook in Sleep Mode or Shut Down (Hot USB Ports)

I would like to be able to charge my iPhone or iPhone while connected to the iBook. However I would prefer the charging method to work in "Sleep Mode" or when the computer is shut down, still plugged into a wall outlet. Has anyone had any success with finding an after-market provider or a solution to get "Hot USB" ports installed on the iBook G4's? I heard in passing this feature would be available soon on the newer Apple notebooks but have yet to see it.

This isn't something I'd noticed before, but my goodness, you're right!
I'm certain I was able to charge my third gen iPod while it was plugged into my sleeping iBook, as long as the iBook was also connected to an outlet.
My MacBook, while sleeping, will charge a device regardless of if it's connected to the outlet or not.
What OS is your iBook running? Maybe that's a clue to solving this issue.

  • Ipad 2 cant get it to shut down, itunes logo and port on screen

i went to upadate my settings, and it told me i didnt have enough space to download IOS 7, then it locked and a iTunes screen appeared on screen with a picture of port plug, now i cant get it to shut down ive tried the home button and the shut down button, nothing works. when the screen goes black, for a minute the Apple logo comes up then goes off and the iTunes and port plug come back.

The image means that the iPad has gone into recovery mode - you will need to connect it to your computer's iTunes, that should recognise the iPad and allow you to reset it back to factory defaults, and you can then restore/resync your content to it. Whilst it's in recovery mode you might not be able to turn it off (I'm not sure whether it's possible or not)

  • HELP!!! Problem with FMS on port 80 is shutting down Apache on my server!

    Hello all,
I own FMIS 3.5. I had it installed on a VPS earlier this year and it worked fine. I later uninstalled it and moved to a NEW VPS with the same hosting comoany (Lunar Pages). Again, it worked fine.
    NOW...
They are telling me that because FMIS is listening on port 80 (when I installed FMIS, I left the port settings as recommended, 1935,80 and 1111 for the admin) that it is shutting down Apache. For what it's worth, I did not install Apache when I installed FMIs on my NEW VPS because I figured I didn't need it as I was installing to a server.
The conflicting application is fmsedge which is running on port 80. Can ANYONE recommend an alternate port for fmsedge?
I am completely at a standstill with this, all my sites are down. The host tells me that Apache needs to run on port 80.
I am developing several websites that will use FMIS for RTMP streaming.
The worst part is that this worked before and suddenly is causing a problem
PLEASE help if you can. I am stuck.
Thank you in advance for your help!!!
    Sincerely,
    wordman

    Graeme,
    Thank you as usual!
FMS is set up on 1935 and 80, but I do have a second IP and will try that approach.
Will let you know how it goes!
    Thank you!!!
    Sincerely,
    wordman

  • DFM alert for shutting down a port?

I am using LMS 3.2, and when are shutting down a port, I don't receive any alerts. Is there any alert for administratively shutting down a port of a device?

DFM criteria for a interface down is
ifOperStatus = down and ifAdminStatus = up.  If you down the interface then ifAdminStatus will be down and not up, so DFM does not treat this an alarmed event.

  • Shutting down default JMX RMI port

I am starting up my JMX agent for remote access and it opens 2 ports, one which is set by the -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=XXXX and one randomly assigned port.
I know I can install a custom JMX agent to specify another RMI port that I can control, but what I really want to do is shut down the randomly assigned one. The problem is that weve a port monitoring app, so I can't open any ports open that I cannot control with causing IT to complain. Is there any way to disable this connector?
    Thanks,

  • When I plug in an USB to the usb port my computer shuts down

I bought my macbook air a couple months ago and when I plug in the usb into the usb port my computer shuts down. I dont know why this happens, but is not always, just sometimes.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Have you tried plugging the flash drive into a different Mac to see if it works? The Air shouldn't have any problem with it, I use a couple of flash drives in mine, although I don't have a pq1. Did you try both USB ports on the Air? Do you have another flash drive you can test in the Air, or a different USB device, like a hard drive or printer?
The only thing I can think of is either a bad flash drive, or a bad USB port on the Air. Sorry, can't be more help than that.

  • Internet wireless connection shuts down when iPhone in USB port

Hi. I bought a new iPhone 3G 2 days ago. Whenever I plug it into my PC USB port to sync, my internet wireless connection shuts down (a dongle is plugged into another USB port). Have you heard of this happening before? Is it likely to be the iPhone, the new version of iTunes or the PC causing the problem? Many thanks for your assistance.

    Your welcome.
A USB memory pen does not draw any power - as does the iPhone.
Apple recommends connecting the iPhone direct to a USB 2.0 port on your computer - not to a USB hub if there is one available.
Do you know if this computer has USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports? If the former, USB 1.1 is not supported.
My PowerBook is approaching 4 years old and still going strong - running Apple's current operating system, but Snow Leopard will be comptible with Intel Macs only, so I'm reaching the end of the line OS version wise with my 4 year old Mac. I don't know many 4 year old PCs running Vista. My Mac has USB 2.0, and I regularly charge other USB devices while my iPhone is connected and while syncing - no problem.

  • USB ports automatically shutting down for drawing too much power

Hi there, i currently use both of my USB ports on my MacBookPro for memory sticks and a basic mouse (nothing fancy or high powered).
Even if these are not plugged in i receive an error message saying that my USB hubs are using too much power and have to be shut down. Im currently required to back my work up every hour so the loss of the hubs is very annoying.
When working, the memory sticks are often randomly disconnected and crash the programme im working on.
Any ideas and or similar experiences??

It sounds like you have a program accessing data directly from a memory stick. A much better procedure is to copy the data to the hard disk and then let the program work on it there. If you have a program crash the original data is still safe on the memory stick. When you have finished working with the data on the hard disk, only then copy the data back to the memory stick.

  • Machine shuts down when a certain USB port is used...................help!

Dell Optiplex 760 (Win Vista Business) shuts down as soon as the second from the top USB port is plugged into on the back, bottom two (2) work fine and both front do as well. What could be causing this?

Is it always the same device being connected to that USB port causing the shutdown, or is it any USB device?
Physically examine the port on the rear of PC to see if it's bent or otherwise damaged. And if it's only one device causing the crashes, examine it's USB cable or connector too.
