Shutting off "welcome to" popup when my Lacie NAS mounts

Is there any way to do this? It gets annoying. When the drive mounts, I get a "welcome to lacie disk", and the finder window opens up. I want it to just mount the drive, and that's it.
I noticed in Leopard on another machine I have, I get the "welcome to", but the window doesn't open.
Terminal?

All this cabling and re-cabling caused me to re-configure my Routers and Switches, which threw my Internet connection offline. In attempting to get it working again, I went back to the actiontek Router that Verizon FIOS provided originally. The actiontek's power supply had failed, and I had dropped back to a previous Router. Verizon later sent a replacement Power Supply, even though the unit was out of warranty.
When I went to configure the actiontek Router, I noticed that there were a lot of options to restrict access for just certain users, and to restrict actions based on time. There were options for both content-filtering (which I am not currently using) and Firewall-based restrictions, many of which could be based on time-of-day and day-of-week.
Once I set the Router's date and time, and allowed it to be updated from a network time server on the Internet, I was able to set up a set of FireWall restrictions for every day of the week. At 10 PM, it disallows traffic through the Firewall, and keeps it off until noon the next day. Now everyone in the house knows the Internet shuts off at 10 PM, and no manual Intervention is required. If you have not completed your homework by then, your Internet time is over regardless.
Verizon FIOS customers and actiontek Router users reading this should check for these features in your Router -- you may already have the solution in hand.

  • My ibook G4 shuts off randomly without warning when it's plugged in.

I have a ibook G4 (late 2004) running leopard. I recently (a month or so) installed a new HD, since original finally failed. I have been running my ibook on power only for 3 years, since my battery stopped charging.
In the last few days my computer has started shutting off completely without a pattern or warning. I hear a single click as it shuts off.
This began when I was using hulu and wanted to plug the video adapter in as a larger display on my TV. In order to do this, I closed the ibook (putting it to sleep) while on hulu. Plugged in the video adapter and opened the ibook. It seemed that my computer had shut off suddenly when I opened to awaken it. I held down the power button to hard reset it, not knowing if the comp. was off or not. A low-long beep came from within the computer and the sleep button blinked very quickly about 8 times or so(too fast to count).
Ever since then I can't trust it to stay on for any amount of time. Sometimes it will shut off as it is booting. Other times it may run for several hours then suddenly shut off.
I am wondering if some other part of this ibook is dying or if I created an issue with the video adapter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    HI,
    Try Resetting the PMU
Might want to run the Apple Hardware Test also.

  • 8310 - Shuts off EVERY 10 seconds when not charging!

I just got my 8310 last night, and realized it needed charging. After spending 20 minutes with it, it FINALLY decided to start charging *idk why it just wouldn't at all, but at least now it does *
So I wake up today *saturday*, and I notice it's working much better, however whenever it is unplugged from my computer, the screen shuts off, a red light is displayed *where the green fully charged light, or the yellow charging light is displayed*, and one of two things happen when I press the ball in:
    A. It completely shuts off, and turns back on, with the hourglass, which takes ~2-5 minutes for it to do anything *usually this one*
    B. It goes back to what I was doing
I've tried everything! The only thing I cannot do is call Tech Support *something about needing an account subscription or something?*. As I said earlier, I JUST bought the phone within this week, and had not yet even opened it since late last night.
    Thank you for your time
Edit: forgot to add this: the battery is FULLY Yellow *meaning that it is fully charged... right?* so.... yeah.

  • Why did apple make me shut off find my iphone when i ordered a replacement iphone

I called 1800myiphone to get a replacement phone yesterday. When they told me they would send me a replacement the first thing the girl had me do was shut off find my iphone. Anyone know why?

That is required so that the Activation Lock is disabled.
As long as Find My iPhone is actived the only way anyone can do anything with it is by first entering your Apple ID and password. Otherwise all it is a brick.

  • My 4s does not ring, alert, play music randomly shuts off and on and when i shut it off it turns on by itself...can anyone suggest anything?

Hi,  I have a the 4s  i have had it for a couple months...never any problems.  When i went to use it the other morning...before the update I noticed I had some missed calls and text messages - the phone had not rang or alerted me.  I checked the volume in settings and also that the switch on the side was on for sound.  But when I touched it the vibrate on/off screen kept flashing on my phone.  I can only hear the phone ring through my aux wire and headphones.  It does not ring from the bottom...nor does it play music or any video noise.  It does play my alarms.  I tried to shut it off before and after i restored it and it would restart on its own...and then I would have to enter my WIFI password again. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.  If that does not help, take it to an Apple store genius bar for the techs to check.

  • How can I shut off the automatic login when I turn on my MacBook Pro?

Ever since I updated to Yosemite I have been forced to enter my password whenever I turn on my MacBook Pro. I went to System Preferences/Users & Groups and see that the automatic login option is set to off, but it is shaded and I can't use the dropdown menu, even though I've unlocked it.
Is this a common issue? Am I just going to have to get used to signing in every time? I'm the only one who uses it, and it's a little annoying.
I've tried searching for help in the discussions and also on google, but I'm not finding any answers.
    Help, please!

Did you turn on FileVault when you upgraded to Yosemite? If it is on then a login password is required (sort of obviously). You can tell whether it is on by going to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy and click FileVault at the top and see if the words "Turn off FileVault" are in the button. I'm the only one who uses my Mac also, but the remote possibility of it being stolen makes it worth it to me to have FileVault turned on and a password required. • Always shut off Bluetooth In Preferences when stowing your wireless keyboard

I spent the entire morning taking notes at a conference today and switched off my iPad at lunch and stowed it in my messenger bag. I took care to place the keyboard between several large newspapers.. When we returned I pulled out my iPad and heard music. The BT keyboard had turned the iPad on and phantom keystrokes had deleted my entire notes document. I know of no way to retrieve my Notes. I had switched off WiFi because I was constantly getting notifications of networks that I couldn't join so my iPad hadn't emailed me the document. From now on I will always switch off BT before putting it away and suggest you all do it as well.

    You do that.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • My Iphone 5S is shutting off by itself and when it fades off, the sound goes off too!! Has this got to do with the new ios rel.7.0.6 update?

I have upgraded to my Iphone just recently and everything was working fine until I donwloaded to ios7.0.6 and now the phone would shut down for some reason....the music or live radio would also also fades off as the power shut down. Can anyone explains this? Or better still a solution.........

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
If this doesn't change anything, backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • My Macbook Pro shuts off within 5 minutes when just using the battery..why?

The problem started a while ago, but I never much payed attention to it because I kept the laptop on my desk and connected to the wall. But it started around a year and half ago, when I disconnect my computer from the power source, it might last a little over an hour, depending on what I am doing. Now, if I unplug it it may last 5 minutes if I am lucky. I heard something about a battery recall, or something to that tune, but have no idea. I am a novice when it comes to battery's or whatever. Please help all you can. This problem is very annoying, because as a college student, it is nice to be able to take your laptop with you to class and not worry about 5 minutes later it just dies. Ill be more than happy to answer questions about how I use the laptop, etc. I have also listed some information below to help. Thank you for your help.

    +Remaining Capacity (mAh): 1345+
Your battery is showing pretty low capacity considering the cycle count, have you been re-calibrating it every couple of months as you should ?
Reset the SMC (System Management Controller) and re-calibrate the Battery properly then see how it behaves.

  • Is there a way to shut off headers and footers when printing to a pdf file?

Files designed to exactly fill a page become too large when headers and footers are added and spill over onto two pages. I can't find a way to change these settings. I am working on an Apple with OS 10.4.11

There is a switch at the left side of the iphone. Try flicking that. It should mute all sounds.
