Shutting off while talking

Can anyone tell me why my blackberry curve will shut off while i am talking ot texting? Cingular says i need to download some updates but i don't know how to do that. Can anyone help?

I've been having the same problem the past 10 days, which got a lot worse today. First I notice what seems to be weak signal and the noise is really ... distorted when I'm inside my room, which has never been the case since Jan when I bough this phone. Then I noticed lots of static when calling or talking. Then the phone shut off on its own while idling, or went down when talking, taking a picture. or browsing. It's also worth mentioning it drain my battery out very quickly. Any insight would really be appreciated.

  • Mac sometimes shuts off while asleep

I've noticed a couple of times recently that my Mac has shut off while it's been closed and asleep. What could be causing this?

    Hello Henning,
It usually is best to start your own topic concerning your issue. Even though your problem may seem similar to the original poster your question can often be overlooked by those that can help.
That said, have a look at the thread found @:
"Mac Pro Shuts down when sleep selected"
perhaps this may apply to your problem. Following is the link for instructions for resetting the SMC.
"Mac Pro: How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC)"
I would post a new topic though of your own and better in the Mac Pro forum.
    hope that helps some,

  • How do I stop a 3 GS from dropping calls? It just shuts off while sitting and talking.

This iPhone is the worst purchase I have ever made in all my 60 years and as soon as my contract expires I will replace it with a Samsung Galaxy S III, but in the meantime I would like to know why it shuts off and how to prevent that. After a few minutes the thing goes off and the apple icon appears on the screen. Then after about 10 minutes it will turn back on.

  • HP Pre 3 shutting off while making a phone call, even after doctoring.

When I make a phone call and get the phone to my ear instantly (so sensor shuts off the screen) 1 in 8 phone calls my phone would just cut off and shut off. Then I have to hold the power button and switch the mute three times to bring it back to life.
If I make a phone call and let the phone stand in my hand for like 5 seconds before i bring it to my ear it will work just fine.
I also noticed that screen doesn't instantly turns on after I get it away from my ear, sometimes it dimms up really slowly. These occasions are rare but they are still there.
Finally I doctored it (mainly because Skype started to sign me out after 15-20 minutes while on WiFi) and problem is still there.
This problem occured first like few weeks after I got the phone (which is like four months ago) and its been there ever since.

I'm not sure what all that means, or what the marks of a good, planned restart are, but it's a place to begin. Now all I have to do is wait for an unscheduled restart. Hmm, maybe I ought to trigger a luna restart, and see what that looks like in messages, as I don't know whether the unplanned stuff is a full or luna restart.

  • My nano (4G) shuts off while playing, doesn´t respond until plugged in, then apple logo appears and it restarts.  Restore worked for a week, same problem today.  Says it is 50% charged.

My Nano shuts off in the middle of playing music/podcasts. It won´ respond until plugged in, then apple logo appears and it restarts.  I restored factory settings and installed the newest OS which worked for a week, but it´s the same problem today.  It happens while at 50% power or better (according to battery icon).

It sounds like the battery itself is going bad, which is likely given the age of the 4G Nanos.  You'll want to have your iPod serviced by Apple or a third party service center to have them swap the battery out.  Otherwise, it's time to start investing in a new iPod.

  • HT1414 My IPad shuts off while in use what can I do to fix this annoying problem.

Has anyone else had this problem where your IPad shuts off intermittently while in the middle of doing something.

"Shuts off" means that the iPad completely powers off - at least that's what it means to me the way that you state it. Is that actually what happens - the iPad shuts off and you have to restart the device? If that is what is happening, you may have a pretty serious hardware problem.

  • X200 - Randomly shuts off while closed.

My X200 is out of warranty now (by a few months), and of course I'm starting to have my first issue. I will close the lid when I'm done working, and about 50-75% of the time when I go to reopen it later, it's completely shut off. The laptop isn't set to do that (it's set to go sleep when I close the lid). Sometimes it will sleep, and I can resume like I always have. But now the majority of the time, it's off. And its annoying as hell, because it takes a while for it to boot up.
    Any ideas?
    Windows 7 RC
    3GB RAM
no other modifcations done, buttons are in great shape.

not sure but do you have hibernate enabled in power settings. if you do disable it and see if that helps.  as to your taking awhile to boot up check in your bios and go into config, then memory and make sure that the extended memory test is disabled.  if that is enabled it will take a long time to boot up.

  • IMAC SHUTS OFF WHILE PLAYING ITUNES

My IMac shuts off (like the plug was pulled) while playing ITunes and after the computer has been on for several hours.  I am running OSX10.5.8.  Any suggestions?   My fan would not quit running a few weeks ago and I used the Program "clean my pc" and that corrected the problem or at least I thought it did.  The fan does not audible run (loudly) any longer.

Shutting down like that MIGHT be a sign of overheating.
Suggest that you download XRG   http://www.gauchosoft.com/Products/XRG/   which monitors your computer's processor temperature and hard disk temperature, and also shows fan speeds.
Run XRG and watch what it does as you run iTunes leading up to the moment that your Mac shuts down. See if the temperatures are increasing, and if they are, the fans should also increase. If the fans don't run as well when the temperature rises, then they might be broken and can be repaired (typically).

  • My Laptop randomly shuts off while plugged in

This started about a month ago, has happened maybe 5 times? It will just shut off randomly, while plugged in. Lately the power cord has been really finicky, for instance when the computer shuts off, I'll unplug and restart, try to plug the power back in and it refused to charge. I then change power outlets in my room and it starts working again (sometimes). I'm wondering if this is an issue solely with the power cord, or some sort of issue with the computer itself? My computer is from about August 2011, Macbook pro 11". just about 15 minutes ago i picked up the computer to move it and it shut off. Thanks!

Okay, thank you for the quick response. What can I expect in terms of services/ fees? I'm under the impression it is still under warranty

  • Notebook shuts off while charging

hello, this is my first time posting. i have a HP special edition L2000/L2005CU. im having problems with charging my notebook while its on, it will shut off after about 10 mins of charging but the battery can be fully charged after it is shut off. i also tried to use only the AC power without the battery installed and still the same result. i have noticed my fan does not turn on, would charging it cause the thermal protection to shut off only while charging? Any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
    Eddie

It won't hurt the battery in general but I like to keep it on the ac adapter when ever I can since using it off battery will use up battery cycles.
