Shuttle rewind F forward

Hi. I don't get any sound when using these key commands. The position pointer moves as described in the manual, but no sound. Anyone any ideas?
Cheers,
Colin.

I personally have never used those key commands, so I don't know what they do. But it sounds like you're talking about "scrubbing", where you hear the sound of the audio "passing over the "virtual" tape heads.
It's my understanding that is dependent on if your hardware interface supports this. What interface are you using?
And if I've misunderstood, please just ignore!

  • Shuttle - REwinding and Forwarding like Tape

    Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a question. I used to work with tape a lot (25 years ago) for editing - one of the great features of tape is grabbing the reels and turning them back and forth WHILE LISTENING to find an edit point. Logic Espress "shuttles" nicely, but the sound is muted.
    Can I get it to "shuttle" and sound?
    Thanks

    oh my that is to mcuh work. THe easiest way to fast forward adn rewind is while watching a video is simply prees the center cutton and a white bar appears and then using the scrollwheel clockwise or couterclockwise to fast forward or rewind.
    and welcome to the ipod world. =)

  • How can i rewind Or forward video clip in Nokia 62...

    How can i rewind Or forward video clip in Nokia 6230i. plz help me out. thanx in advance.
    Haris

    Hello.
    Fast forwarding and rewinding video on the 6230i is not possible as far as I remember with experience with several Series 40 phones. The proprietary Nokia OS runs a multimedia player incapable of doing this feature. I also have never heard of a certain compatible Java-based media player application which can do this. Maybe the architecture of Series 40 does not support advanced software features allowing this. However if you really want to watch using your phone, you cannot be able to fast forward or rewind.
    Cheers.
    PS:I am not really sure about this though; just a quick opinion. How about some ideas from other 6230i users?

  • Rewind and forward sound

    Hi...
    I'm working in Edge trying to do same things i do in flash (i have not knowledge in css or javascript). One of these thing is create an animation with sound sync and with buttons to jump to some parts of the animation. All is done and works fine, the forward (with time labels) except for the sound.  In flash the sound is in the time lime but no in Edge... i can play or pause but i don't know how to rewind or forward the sound at the same time of the animation to preserve the sync...
    Thanks for help
    This is the code i'm working
    In the timeline actions
    var currenttime=sym.getPosition();
    if(currenttime==-1)
              var esound=new Audio();
              esound.src="sound/audio.ogg";
              var esound1=new Audio();
              esound1.src="sound/audio.mp3";
              this.getSymbol("volplus").stop(0);
              this.getSymbol("volminus").stop(0);
              esound.volume=0.1;
               sym.setVariable("audioObj", esound);
               sym.setVariable("audioObj1", esound1);
               $(esound).bind("ended",function()
                        sym.$('Text').html("Audio Completed..");
                        var playtxt=sym.getSymbol('playbtn').$('btnvalue').html("Play");
              $(esound1).bind("ended",function()
                        sym.$('Text').html("Audio Completed..");
                        var playtxt=sym.getSymbol('playbtn').$('btnvalue').html("Play");
    In the forward button
    var audioObj = sym.getVariable("audioObj");
    var audioObj1 = sym.getVariable("audioObj1");
    //var oAudio1 = document.getElementById('audioObj1');
    //var oAudio = document.getElementById('audioObj');
    audioObj.currentTime += 30.0;
    audioObj1.currentTime += 30.0;

    No answers even from the pros?
    So I must asume this thing is imposible or very hard to do... any alternative at last...
    Thanks

  • Jog Shuttle - Rewind Skips frames

    I am trying to figure out how to encode in Quicktime a mpeg4 or h.264 movie with a smooth rewind (shuttle). I am coaching a sport and trying to teach with the video. After encoding, the video plays fine and actually the fast forwards goes smoothly. But the rewind skips frames . I capture from my camera in dv (avi file) with 720x480 and 29.97 f/s with about 3m bit rate. I don't care the size after I encode. When I play the avi file in QT it rewinds fine and QT goes through each frame, but when I encode to mpeg4 or h.264, the video skips on rewind. Any help would be awesome!!!

    Sorry Kyn Drake, here's the def. of what a b-frame and bidirectional frame are....
    Bidirectional Frames:
    Using bidirectional prediction increases the compression efficiency and the quality of your video. A bidirectional frame is a frame created by the compressor and inserted between intraframes and/or interframes. The compressor analyzes the frames before and after the bidirectional frame and then creates and inserts a frame based on the average quality of both.
    Has nothing to do with playing a video backwards...
    B-Frames:
    The advantages to using the B-Frames are to achieve higher quality of the video and the ability to have playback scalability. By default, the B-Frame setting is set to off. The options in the drop-down menu are: off, Auto, 1, and 2.

  • Play/Rewind/Fast Forward keys not working in Quicktime

    How can I assign the F7, F8, and F9 keys (rewind, play, fast forward) to work with Quicktime?  I desperately need to be able to shuffle through footage frame by frame for work, and it just stopped working as I downloaded the OS X Yosemite beta onto my MacBook Air.  Can anyone help?
    Thank you!

    Try using the J, K and L keys. A double tap on J and L increases the speed. Triple tap is even faster.
    Right and left arrow keys can also step through frames. Spacebar start and pauses.

    Although it has not been updated for a while, probably 95% or more of the content is still valid. And specifically using your DVR with other STBs is covered in detail.

  • Turning off audio when rewinding/fast-forwarding

    Hey there,
    I use Quicktime to watch movies that I have to transcribe, so I rewind a lot to re-listen to things. Whenever I rewind, though, the audio plays back too, which is incredibly annoying, especially after hours of listening to the same thing forwards and garbled backwards. Is there any way to turn off the audio when seeking? There doesn't seem to be any easy option on the preference panel.
    Thanks!
    Hank

    Is there a way to somehow change the settings so there is no audio playback when rewinding? Since I'm transcribing, I only want to rewind a second or two to relisten to a sentence. It seems like a nuisance to have to mute, rewind two seconds, then unmute again; I'd rather there's just no playback when I rewind.

  • Logic does not accept key command of Rewind and Forward

    also Fast Rewind and Fast Forward.

    Hi
    If you are on a small keyboard (ie with no numbers pad) use FunctionShift Return
    or If you are on a 'numbers keyboard', the Enter key is on the right next to the 3 key (and NOT the Return Key).

  • Rewind & Fast Forward Issue

    I recently moved from DirecTV to Verizon FIOS TV.
    I am having difficulty adapting to the rewind and fast forward functions with Verizon. I find that when I press the <PLAY> button during rewind or fast forward, the system actually is ahead or behind about 30 - 45 seconds. I am used to DirecTV where once I pressed the <PLAY> button, I landed exactly at the spot I saw at the time I stopped the rewind or fast forward.
    Am I doing something wrong or does anyone have any suggestions. It is really getting to be a PITA.
    Thanks!

    You are doing it correct. When people are fast forwarding, most are not quick reflexed enough to hit play directly on the image they need, So we figure that by the time the play button is hit then , more time has passed so it automatically backs it up.

  • Rewind / Fast Forward

    Is it possible to make Logic 8 rewind and fast forward as smooth as PTLE and Nuendo and not jump by Bars??
    Thanks

    if you use a controller Logic don't jump by Bars...
    however, I always use jump over the Bars because for a composers and arrangers is more easy (and Logical way) to choose the BAR starting of the song...
    On Orchestral practice I always ask to musician to start from a specific measure of the song (usually about 4 or 8 bars before a a very difficult part)!
    Logic is made for musician.... not for emulate a Tape Wheel recorder.
    My 2 cents!

  • FLVPlayback Rewind & Fast Forward Buttons

    Hello gang! You know the Forward and Back buttons in
    the FLVPlayback component? Well, I really need to develop Fast

  • IPod reset itself when I tried to rewind or forward the video

    My 3-week-old ipod video has problem now when playing video. When I tried to rewind or foward the video (44mins, 301MB), the ipod screen suddenly turned black and the apple logo appeared at the middle (I think the ipod has reset itself). Anybody can help me to solve this problem?

    Firmware? I heard the newest firmware had problems, also i would try restoring the iPod or converting it with something else. Never heard of Jodix, make sure it is converting the file to iPod standards.
