SICF ContentServer not working

Hi
ContentServer under SICF > SAP> BC is not working when I activated it and tested it. Under Logon Data tab, I had given a user of type 'Service' and acceppted the defaults. Any idea what could have gone wrong ?

The ContentServer isn't really related to the portal - you may get a better response in one of the other forums... There have been some questions about it under "Database & OS Platforms".

To create your own service, position your cursor on the object in the tree that you want to be the parent of the new service. This can be an existing service or a Virtual Host. Choose Service / Virt. Host / Create service (or click on it with the right mouse button and choose New Subelement). In the following dialog box for your service or the alias for an existing service, enter a name and decide whether you want to create a service (Independent Service) or an internal alias (Alias for an existing service):
the service name can have a maximum of 15 characters. Since services are transported, they are subject to the transport systemu2019s restrictions.

MI server SICF services not working

Dear All,
I installed a MI 7.0 server, I am able to logon to the ABAP stack without any hassles.But, when I test any services in SICF, it throws a page cannot be displayed. All the services are active. I tried de-activating and re-activated them, but still no good.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Button of report in WEB UI Client not working.

Dear experts!
I program a report in SAP GUI. Display data by ALV grid using function module. Then, i create a button, when i click this button, program will call a function module to export data to excel. I fix the path to save file excel is on my local computer. I test in SAP GUI, these functions run very good. I create logical link to bring this report to WEB UI. But after i run this report, i click button to export data to excel, system has not any message and i follow the path i have fixed about, but i do not find the file excel.
Anyone can explain and resolve this problem with me?

Hi,
GUI methods for file handling do not work in the web session. The browser by itself has no access to the user's PC and this is on purpose for security reasons. You have options. You can create a SICF node to generate the report as a downloadable content or use activex objects to directly write files in user's PC or run a SAP GUI report in a background session.

Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

Dear Friends,
We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for
1st ] Within R/3
Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
2nd ] From webpage to R/3
Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.
The setting which are done in Prod. server are,
1] RZ10 in parameters are set for port and host name.
2.1] In SMICM check for ICM.
2.2] Host file updated in Windows-System 32.
3] In SICF following services are active,
3.1] default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
3.2] default_host/sap/public/bc
3.3] default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner
3.4] default_host/sap/bc/wdvd

BSP: Logout does not work

Hello.
At the moment i am re-developing a bsp-application, that i have written about 2 years ago.
I have to add a logout-funtion to the new version, as the users desperately want it (Some of our users seem to get nervous, when login on to a page, that provides no logout button...).
I have already tried navigation->exit() but this method only drops the application context - the session will not be terminated, so that the user will not be promted for login-data when e.g. pressing the back-button of the browser.
I read the documentation on help.sap.com carefully and the problem seems to be, that the appliaction is using "Basic Authentication" at the moment. Using this kind of authentification generates a session-cookie, that will persist until the browser is closed.
My first attempt was to get rid of the cookie using jscript, but this did not work. First i thought, there was a bug in my jscript-coding, and so i opened the corresponding menu of my browser and deleted any cookie by hand. Unfortunatelly, this had no effect - i was still able to use the page and my session was still existent.
So i searched for further informations and found out, that it should be quite easy to implement a logout, if SSO-Login was used for athentification. Unfortunatelly i also found out, that SSO is not available on our system, so i will have to find another way.
Finally i found out, that a logout can be done by simply setting the application into stateless mode, if fields authentication is used.
I tested this for a simple test-application i had written a few days ago and everything worked fine: I had to enter my logon-data at the first call of the application, the login worked as expected and setting the application to stateless mode ended my session immediatelly. Reloading the page or using e.g. the back-button of the browser did not cause any trouble, so i wanted to use this technique, because the behaviour of the testpage exactly met the requirement.
My next step was to enter transaction sicf and to delete every authentication-mechanism except of "Fields Authentication" to enforce the usage of this mechanism for my bsp-application. It worked somehow, but not in the way, i expected.
When trying to open my bsp-application, i had to enter my logon-data in an html-form (as expected).
But sending the data did not create a session. I have to log in between 2 and 5 times (it differs for every try) before i finally see the first page of my bsp-application.
Once logged in, the session is quite "unstable" - a simple reload of the page throws me back to the logon page again.
I have no clue, what causes this creepy behaviour - i copied the settings of my testappliaction 1:1 in sicf, both applications are stateful by default and the only place, where the switch to stateless mode is done is my logout-page. Yesterday i even deleted the service of my application in sicf, created a new one and customized it in the same way, i had customized the service of my test-application, so there should be no differences (i have checked for about 10 times).
As i have already searched the forum and did not find anything, that seemed to match to my problem, i hope, that somebody can give me some advice, because i really do'nt know, what else to try.
Below you can see the configuration of the service in SICF. Any option not listed here has its initial value:

up to now we also faced a lot of issues with that logout-problem.
Especially the logout for IE 5.5 and the XUL-runner gave us a hard time.
We had to change our logout-page about 10 times now, because some weird browser did not work like all the others - AGAIN...
Here is, what we got so far.
As far as i know, this stuff should work cross-browser, but it's still client-side jscript.

Calling the script directly did not work in all browsers
so we had to use a trick, that may seem kind of weird...
We use the onLoad-Event of a transparent 1x1-pixel-image.
The query-string is a dummy-value, that will be ignored by the

Web Service is not working after Upgrade SAP EHP6

Hi ,
Recently we upgraded SAP ECC 6.0 to EHP 6.
We have a custom web service which is consumed in .NET Application to get the Sold To from Sales Order.
the service is working perfectly before upgrade and it is not working after upgrade to EHP6.
When I tested the Service in WS Navigator in SAP, it is working fine.
We raised a message to SAP and SAP analyze the Traces and confirm that the HTTP Request Header coming from .NET application is not having User ID and Password , so it is throwing exception from SAP as unauthorized.
But in service it is configuration as basic authentication and log on using user id and password and .NET application is calling service by passing user ID & Password.
Customer is not happy as it is working before Upgrade and SAP confirmed every thing fine in SAP, but the service is not working.
we did the below steps.
Regenerated the configuration
Re imported the Certificates
Activated the service in SICF.
Please let me know if anybody have same problem or if any steps we are missing.

Display Content is Not working in BI 7.4

Hi All,
In BW 7.4, I am trying to display content via Mange Infoprovider. Till 7.3 the data used to show in the BW system itself.
Where as in 7.4 BW system display data redirecting to below URL and it’s calling a webdynpro APP called “rsdmdm_md_maintenance_app” as below URL
http://host:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/rsdmdm_md_maintenance_app?IOBJNM=ZDV_EMPID&sap-language=EN.
Bu this URL giving 500 Internet server error.
Can any one help with what I am missing here? In 7.4 is it possible to display content in BW system itself?

Hi,
Please review following SAP Note. The new behavior (WebDynpro based Master Data maintenance) is now standard since SAP BW 7.4 SP05. Old SAPGui based screen is not possible anymore.
The notes describes the SICF services you need to activate to make it work.
My understanding is that old SAPGui based screen could not handle certain newer data types. As per SAP the new feature has some good benefits such as copy/paster multiple lines from spreadsheet.

It’s not possible to switch to old GUI Based Master data maintenance. Incase
if new master data maintenance is not working please check:
Check if services as described in note 517484 is active
In transaction SICF activate services starting with RSDMDM*
Check if note 1969092 is implemented already.

Additionally the new UI has some advantages like editing values directly
within the tables, so it’s not required to edit the values one by one, or the
option to copy and paste values from a spreadsheet directly in to table.

" HRRCF_A_UNREG_JOB_SEARCH " service for unregistered candidates is not working

Dear all,
" HRRCF_A_UNREG_JOB_SEARCH " service is not opening the contents of search criteria instead its giving an error message - " You do not have the required authorization to use this application " when trying to open the service directly from SICF in case of unregistered candidates.
Previously it was working properly but suddenly its giving such an error.
we have maintain " RCF_UNREGSER " service user for the particular service and maintained the necessary roles.
Please guide how to resolve the same and as its very urgent for us.

There is an entry in table HRP5102 for the candidate 3978.
In SICF, I have change the Procedure as "Required with logon data" instead of standard then also its not working giving the same error "You do not have the required authorization to use this application".
After search on SAP_RCF_* roles, I got only these many roles. Here no other roles for unregistered candidate.

NW 7.3 + iView from remote source wizard + R3 Web Dynpro ABAP, not working

I think this forum is my last resort.
I'm running NetWeaver 7.3 Enterprise Portal and also have an existing ECC6 on backend.
Our ABAP Programmer has built some WD4A application on ECC, I'd like to made them available
on EP as ABAP WebDynpro iView.
From the document, I know the way to create ABAP WD iView is different since 7.3. I have to use "iView from remote source" to do it.
On EP side, I have made an system alias (test ok) for ECC, assigned permission, provide mapping id/pwd, and test.
On ABAP side, all webdynpro app are activated (T-code sicf, /sap/bc/webdynpro, /sap/public/bc/webdynpro...). I can even test WAS by bringing up browser and access some sample ABAP webdynpro .
However, I cannot success on "iView from remote source" wizard and it always show me "Nothing found. Check your search Criteria.". Eventhough I use "*" as search criteria.
Anyone has the similar situation ? I even doubt that it is a placeholder of a feature , not working for now. Anyone made it work on NW 7.3 ?

Then I try to create an iView on EP, under a PCD folder , new->iview->iview from remote source. A wizard show up. Then I can select the ECC alias just created, and provide * as application search criteria, and then select "WEB DYNPRO ABAP" as the application type. Then "GO"
as I mentioned, it always show "Nothing Found. Check your search crieteria"
But I'm sure the web dynpro applications are activated on R3.

I feel confident about the backend R3 system because I can use the WAS URL to access the sample WD4A application, for example, I can bring up the wd4a application ui in my browser. It is purely browser and R3 stuff, no EP involved.

I have done all kind of test on the system object (alias):
1. In EP System Administration -> Landscape Configuration, I select the system object, click "Test Connection", It shows me a Check mark, and the detail message is SOE_DEV_600 connection
2. Edit the System object, then click on "Connection Tests" page, I see two lines there, check both and click test, here is the result:

The test consists of the following steps:
1. Check the validity of the system ID in the system object
2. Check if the system can be retrieved
3. Check if the system object has a valid system alias
4. Check if an SAP system is defined in the system object

7. Pings the Web AS Ping service (works only if the service is activated on the Web AS, and only on ABAP Web AS)

4. The system object represents an SAP system

Cache Refresh for Adapter Engine is not working

Hi,
our adaper engine is not working. At RTW no there are no channels visible and the button "Test Cache Connectivity" leads to a yellow icon for the adapter engine with the error text: "Attempt to fetch cache data from Integration Directory not yet started or still in process".
The error reason is at http://<j2ee host>:<port>/CPACache/history.jsp available: com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.impl.exception.CPADirectoryCacheException: Couldn't open Directory URL (http://pixd1.digoff.no:55200/dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext?method=CacheRefresh&mode=C&consumer=af.xd1.dat-dof-xi), due to: HTTP 403: Forbidden
The cache refreh request from adapter engine to directory gets an 403 error. What is strange: No problem, to execute that request in a browser, i get the right message, no fault.
I searched for notes or other threads, i could find only <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_xi/~form/handler%7b5f4150503d3030323030363832353030303030303031393732265f4556454e543d444953504c4159265f4e4e554d3d373531383536%7d">SAP note 751856</a> , but it is valid for XI 3.0; we are on PI 7.0.
I checked out:
- no user blocked
- all system users have standard authorisations
- reimport of SAP BASIS SWC
- SICF services for XI active
- destination INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI working
Any idea, how i can get the adapter engine working?

There are two ways to display the content of the CPA cache refresh.
1. The Cache-Update Content-XML
Document can be stored in the Adapter Framework database (J2EE schema) for further analysis. Here you have to set the property in the J2EE Visual Administrator tool.
To do so, proceed as follows:
=>J2EE-service SAP XI AF CPA Cache
=> set property trackCacheUpdateXML= true
=> You can now display the cache update XML with the alias CPACache
=> View Cache Update History
=> View Cache Update XML
2. The content of the cache refresh from the Integration Directory intothe CPA cache can be written to an XML file: Here you have to set the property inthe J2EE Visual Administrator tool:
=>J2EE-service SAP XI AF CPA Cache
=> set property J2EE service SAP XI AF CPA Cache cacheUpdateDebugFile = true
=> the CPA cache refresh XML file will be in the server(0) directory search for the following file names:
=> value of the property cacheUpdateDebugFile.deltaif you intend to see the delta refresh accordingly and the value of the property cacheUpdateDebugFile.full if
you intend to see the full cache refresh content
Note: After your analysis, do not forget to reset the properties value to false.
You can delete the XML cache-
refresh table: alias CPACache
=> View Cache Update History
=> Delete History

Web reporting does not work in BW system

I'm a BW consultant with very little BASIS knowledge and have been asked to look into why web reporting is not working on our system.
We get the following message when trying to run BW queries on the web:

I would expect something like:-

Some of the services of ITS 640 are not working

I have implemented SAP NW 04 SR 1 Portal and integrated SRM 4.0(EBP 5.0).I have also implemented Business Package for mySAP SRM 4.0 60.2.
I am using internal ITS for HTML GUI.
Some of the iviews of the business packages are working but some of them are not.
I am getting an error message

I had also published all the services using w3_publish_services and siac_publish_all_int.
It says that all the services are succesfully published.
When I go to SICf to test the service,some of them are not working.
Can you guys tell me what are the steps that I am missing?

I am also getting the same th_res_free error..
I have installed nw04 sr1 and trying to run ESS on it.
My problem is, i have installed sap WAS 6.4 on different machine and R/3 on different machine..
So now.. where i have WAS.. does not have all the services. All services are there on R/3 server..
Now how do i publish the services on WAS 6.4??
Coz that option to publish on INTERNAL site is not coming on my R/3 (4.7) as it does not have WAS 6.4.. its on different machine.
Please tell me what can be done in this case.
I cant create a R/3 transaction iView using webgui because of this. my Web gui service on WAS 6.4 runs fine whne i test it in SICF .. but not in Iview..
Please help me out .. i dont want to install a ITS on another machine which is simple solution..

SSO using spnego set up but not working for an Enterprise Web Service

Hello, I am looking for some guidance. I have a function module that is exposed as a web service. I am trying to be able to access the web service with sso so the user does not need to logon. Systems has set up SSO using spnego to issue sap login tickets on our dual stack and sso is working if I try to access a netweaver link such as http://mycompany:8001/nwa but it is not working when I try to access my service
http://mycompany.com:8001/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/myservice/500/myservice/myservice. I am wondering why this would not work and if it is possible to use sso with enterprise services?

Hi, I have created the redirect app with a jsp page in it. So, would you be suggesting that I add another call within there? In the error pages section of my web service in sicf I have the redirect going to my redirect jsp which is then sent to my web service.
