Sid clean up

Hi
We have some problem in query. If we restrict  the values for one of the master data characteristic in the query designer  its showing reults when i execute query. If i wont put any restrictions on that it does display any data (no results).
Some of them told me that the SID for that characteistic is contaminated and need to cleanup .What does it mean how will do the clean up?
Any idea
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mural.
I believe that there is a utility in transaction RSRV to check the integrity of the SID and correct it if needed.  I'd suggest looking in there.

  • TS1702 google calendar not working correctly after 8.0.2 update

IPAD screen inconsistant with finger comands, lags, calender events jump all over the place when begininng to enter event. minutes on the left of the page have ?? question marks, no + to add events.  Also, I dont always have a volume icon when adjusting the volume. You can hear the sound going softer and louder but no indicator.
Ive shut device off, taken the calendar off the ipad and put it back on, (that fixed the ?? on the time side), cleaned the screen, turned gesture on and off.  I book appoitments on this device and have been really frustrated since this update.

I have the same problem with Sprint LTE. It works fine when I'm on WiFi at work then I went out to lunch with my family and tried to show them a video and it wouldn't load. I thought it might just be YouTube but then I tried sending an iMessage to my brother and it wouldn't send until I got back onto WiFi at work. It didn't do this before I updated 8.0.2 but I'm still not sure if it's the iPhone update or just Sprint's network today.

  • My Magsafe Also Melted

This is the second time my Magsafe has melted at the joint connecting the magnetic head to the cord. The first time it was replaced no questions asked, but now I am no longer under warranty and the people at the Apple store near me refused to help (and were quite content on being less than helpful...). It seems to me that this is a common problem and considering it first happened while I was under warranty and this is just a continuation of a problem, I should be given a new one. Especially given the fact that this is an obvious defect and frankly, a hazard. I was very disappointed with the way Apple handled it. I guess I'll keep trying to call them in hopes of getting someone who cares... but I'll probably just have to bite the bullet and shell out the cash for a new, expensive, power supply. Just a terrible job by Apple.

    Hi Julian,
    welcome to macbook forum.
Unfortunately if you are out of warranty, no matter what situation are, you still in the weak bargaining position. There for apple offer apple care so you can be at the winning position.
How long the second mag safe last before it melted, if you can prove that no matter how many magsafe they give, it will instantly melt right away, you might win the case.
But if you have been using it for quite sometime, apple can point that as user abuse, for debris or particle accumulate between magsafe and magsafe port on your macbook become indicator and short the magsafe current and generate heat that melt it.
IF you buy a new mag safe, I believe it also covered by apple warranty, for how long I honestly don't know (do check with them), and keep both side clean to prevent that incident happen again.

  • Streaks inside monitor

I already made an appointment at the genius bar but was wondering if anyone else has seen this.  There are two areas on a mid-July 2011 27 Intel screen that looks like some kind of liquid got behind the screen and dripped down.  The only thing I've used to clean the screen is a cleaner that I bought from the Apple store (iKlear).  The streaks can be seen only when I use certain desktop pictures.

I completely missed the fact that the machine is brand new and still under warranty, and, so, yeah, make apple open it up and fix it!  Especially since you can't be 100% sure that it's on the glass and not on the plasma display until it's opened up.
iMacs are a real booger to do any work on beyond swapping memory chips.  Replacing a fried hard drive, or even re-seating a connector that has worked loose, everything requires removing the glass, then removing the plasma display (think giant wet noodle), then disassembling the computer inside.  Then you've got to get it all back together!  When I watched the youtube movie and they got to the part where there is a thermostat taped to the disk drive, and if you don't get it on just right then the computer won't run, or worse, will burn up -- that's when we bundled it up and took it to a real repair shop!
I have several iMacs which had their glass smashed in a vandalism attack.  (School computer lab.)  They work, so I bought replacement glass on eBay, and was able to replace it -- it's not that hard.  But keeping the back side clean is pretty challenging.  If your iMac was really built-to-order, that means that a human being took the glass off after it came off of that robot-operated clean-room assembly line, and it would have been really really easy to get the backside dirty.  And when you send it in for repair, they are going to pop off the glass, clean it, put it back on.  So don't be totally surprised if it comes back with the streaks gone but a new fingerprint or two!

  • A clean install on my MacBook Pro has left my icons stuck on the right side of the desktop. I want to move them but there is no 'None' option which I think would free them to move where I wish. Suggestions?

A clean install on my MacBook Pro has left me with my icons stuck in the grid on the right side of my desktop. I had the ability to move them and have them stay put in various sectors of the desktop, which I found very useful.  The clean install upgraded the OS to 10.6.8 from 10.5.8. I want to move them again but there I see no 'None' option which I think would free them to move where I wish. Has the upgrade deleted that option? Suggestions? I am new to this community and if not new to Mac, I often feel that way. This is one of those times.

I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

  • I have a mac book pro with Boot Camp that also runs windows.  I upgraded to Lion and somehow it crashes the mac side peridoically.  I am told I need to "clean" it and reinstall lion using the recovery drive.  will that delete the windows partition too??

I have a mac book pro with Boot Camp that also runs windows.  I upgraded to Lion and now the mac side crashes/freezes periodically, especially iphoto.  I am told by the genius' that I probably need to "clean" it and reinstall lion using the "recovery drive" which resets everything back to default and reinstalls the lion operating system.  My question is will this also delete the "windows" partition drive and all that data too.  If so that will be a huge pain in the ___ to back up and reinstall boot camp and windows. I want to shoot the lion.

There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that.

  • How do I clean/ reformat partitioned internal hard drive Windows 7 Side on MacBook Pro 17"

    Hello,
I would like to clean up / reformat the Windows 7 side of my partitioned hard drive, and then re-install.
Any direction - advise will be appreciated.

Have you tried booting directly to the Windows 7 DVD instead of running setup.exe from Boot Camp?  Hold down "Option" as soon as you hear the chime on restart, and eventually you'll be presented with available boot options.
Otherwise, then, yes, Disk Utilities would be the way to go.  Mount your Boot Camp partition in the sidebar to the left, and then choose to Erase the partition as FAT32.  That should set you up to be able to write to that partition during the install process.
But I recommend booting from the DVD directly first, though.

  • Laserjet 2600n not printing black on one side of page. already cleaned the laser/scanner assembly.

laserjet 2600n not printing black on one side of page. already cleaned the laser/scanner assembly. i've cleaned the assembly a few times beofre to restor the colors as the printer is in a semi-dusti environment.  after cleaning the printer was fine, then about a week later, the black - and only the black - stopped printing on the right side of the page.  the text is straight across left to right then starts to waver and then then stops altogether.  i tried a different black toner cartidge and the problem remains.

    > so this is strictly a hardware issue as no drivers are involved. Yup. > Still prints all black.   Ok its not the controller. > Still prints all black.   Ok its not the fuser. >  its still prints all black. OK its not the laser itself > it still prints all black. Not that part either. > What else left is there?  Formatter board hasnt been mentioned.  Something is sending a command to the printer that is telling it to open up the doors and charge the entire page.  Normally the laser is responsible for charging the media.  As the media passes over the toner doors it atracts toner particles.  Then as the paper continues it rolls past the fuser where heat melts the particles into permanent place. > The power supply board maybe?   Perhaps but not likely.  If you have a spare you could try it but power supply problems usually result with the machine unable to boot or print correctly, not printing too much as you have described here. > Is there another part you would reccomend I look at?
You could try the old Halfway test just to verify that the problem is coming from teh laser/toner part of the printer.  http://www.printertechs.com/printer-troubleshooting/halfway-test Your paper may have somehow gotten a staic charge that opposes the charge of the toner, thus auto attracting all particles in range as it passes over the toner doors.  Might want to grab a fresh ream of paper to test and rule somethign crazy like that out. Not very many options left after that.

  • How do I clean the under side of glass in my 2610xi all in one printer

How do I clean the under side of the scanning glass in my 2610xi all-in-one printer?

Actually, HP seems to have posted clear instructions here:

If this ends up with a space on your computer before docname, remove it/

  • How do you remove and  clean the back side of a protective screen cover on an IPad?

I have a IPad that has a protective clear screen protector on it. I remove it because the screen was not properly mounted on the IPad. When I put it back on the IPad there were a number of lint spots on the screen that made viewing uncomfortable. How do I clean the side of this cover that adhere to the IPad it self? The screen protector I'm using feels like there is some type of adhesive material on it that the lint has attached itself to. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
no problem, when I can help.  screen protectors are really quite expensive, so I oysters really important to get it positioned perfectly with all the dust and lint gone. I apply all my screen protectors on my 'idevices'  with sellotape and have never had a problem. Good luck!

  • My trackpad is only working on the right side, is there a way of cleaning it???

I am not sure if my daughter spilled something on the track pad but the left side of it is not working does anyone have any tips to either clean it or how to fix it?

Try cleaning it first.  Here's an article on cleaning apple products.

  • Clean up old SID values from an InfoObject that does NOT have master data

I have a characteristic infoobject that does NOT have Master Data but it has a SID table. I assume that it is used primarily for the F4 value help. Now we have changed some of our data for this infoobject in R3 so that some of the values in the SID table will never be used again. My problem is that these values are still displayed in the F4 value help. And because the old values are very similar to the new values some users mistakenly pick the old value and then the query results come back empty.
FYI - The datasource that uses this infoobject as an attribute is extracted from R3 in a Full load each night. So there is no risk that the old values in the SID table will be needed in any Master Data/Cubes/DSOs/etc.
Is there a way to delete the unwanted SIDs from this table /BIC/SXCSAOFREG? Or is there some way to make sure that the unwanted SIDs to not show up in the F4 value help?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi David,
Goto SE14 trans --> ENter the table name as  /BIC/SXCSAOFREG. Select the "Edit" radio button. Then Select "Delete Data" radion button & click on "Activate & adjust database". But be very careful NOT to click on Delete Database table(This will delete the physical database table!!!

  • If you clean the camera lenses on both sides of an iPod will it scratch the lenses?

I have an iPod touch 5th and 4th generation, and I was worried that when I cleaned my camera lenses with my shirt, that the lenses would be ruined or scratched. Pleases help. Thanks a lot in advance.

Sapphire is a very hard material, just next to diomend. Apple since now is just using the C-plane of sapphire for lense, I hope in the new future, it could be used in the cover or whole display. Becuase that can protect from so many scratch for users. Anyway, I am a sapphire lense manufacturer in China.

  • MF8350Cdn has red streaks on output on one side. I have used all the cleaning functions available.

The streaks are evenly spaced, like it is on a roller.  They are approximately 2" and are vertical on the page about every two inches. I have removed the printer cartridges and brushed out any stray dust.  What else can I clean to get rid of the streak?
