Side menu in Samsung Galaxy S4

Anyone know how I ended up with a side menu on the left side of my S4.
There was  a small arrow in the middle of the screen on the left side. The menu had most used apps like Gallery etc.
It might have been from an app I installed, don't know.
Anyway I lost it and want to get it back
Help appreciated.

Long pressing the back button turns on or off the display of the multi-window menu.

  • Why does Flash player not work on samsung galaxy tablets?

Hello, I am wondering why they do not have flash player for samsung galaxy tab 3? I just recently got the 8.0 sized one and it has great features, but no flash player? To have an up to date electronic device, and older electronic devices carry it,but you won't put it on new devices? Is there a way to get it to work or download it? It has stopped me from viewing many different things on my tablet unfortunately and this may cause me to return it.

Android dropped all support for Flash last year (June 2012).
Going back to 2006, when Apple released the first iPhone and iOS 1, Steve Jobs was insistent that it be made incompatible with Flash Player because (in his words) playing Flash content is processor consumptive and kills batteries, and well as shortening battery life in mobile devices. Android came along a little while later, but their reason for droppiong Flash last year was the same.
Adobe continued developing "security updates" for the Flash Player that worked with older versions of Android, but even that ended in September of this year. Adobe will not continue development of a product for an incompatible format.
Android recommends either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" browser from the GooglePlay store (both are free). They use "server side" technology to play Flash content without taxing your tablet or phone's processor.

    Hi all
I'm really pleased to announce our photo competition winner, congrats to StuartRogerson - one Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will be on Santa's sleigh with your name on it shortly!
But there's still one Galaxy 2 to be won in part two of the competition - see below for the winning photo from Stuart. We felt this picture best captured the feeling and meaning of Christmas - but what do you think? PM a caption for this photo to StephanieG or SeanD and we'll select the best as the winner, it should be something that captures the spirit of Christmas - it can be funny, seasonal or sentimental. Last day for submitting your captions is 23rd Dec (by 5pm) so get your thinking caps on, we're looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

  • Why does Premiere CS4 fail to import video files from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

I've acquired a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It takes supherb HD video 1920x1080. But when I attempt to import the clips in Premiere CS4, I get the unsupported file error message. Am I missing a format spec in my project setup menu list? Or do I have to convert the files before importing and with what?

Codec & Format information, read both links in reply #1 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

  • Video imported from Samsung Galaxy S3

    Hi,
when I imported video from the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Premiere 12 audio and video seem to be disconnacted (the audio is faster...). But they are ok on pc and other devices... So, what could i do?

    Maurispi
In Premiere Elements, I have not found that it is a given that iPhone and other devices with video with a variable frame rate "need" to be converted in order to work in Premiere Elements.
So, let us focus on the overall
    a. Did you set up the project so that the properties of the source media match the properties of your video?
In version 12, the program is supposed to do that for you automatically. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it does not. When it does not, you set the project preset in the new project dialog manually before importing the video. To do that, you go to File Menu/New/Project. Before you exit the settings there, be sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on this Project". Then when you are back in the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace, import your video via Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets.
    b. After you drag your video to the Timeline, you should not see any orange line over the video content. (I am not talking about the orange line that runs horizontally across the middle of the video. This orange line is at the top of the Timeline.) If you see this orange line, does the video audio problem disappear after you have hit the Enter key of the computer main keyboard and the line has turned from orange to green?
    c. All this highlights the question "What are the video properties on which I am basing the project preset?"
Knowing the settings of your camera would guide you to the answer for that.
    http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxys3/specifications.html
I suspect that you are recording 1080p (1920 x 1080 @ 30 progressive frames per second). But I am not sure what video codec is being used by you.
Based on what we do know (or think we know), you project preset should be
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p30 or DSLR 1080p30 @29.97
After you import the video, right click its thumbnail in Project Assets, select Properties, and see what it says there, especially for frame rate.
Please supply the information requested and then we will decide what next if necessary.
    Thanks.

  • Briefing Alarm in Samsung Galaxy S4

Hi I loved the briefing alarm in my Samsung Galaxy S4 (Kitkat) version. With current lollipop upgrade, the briefing alarm has stopped working. Is it possbile to fix that. Also, lollipop 5.01 is extremely buggy (seems like a beta version). One major bug:If any of the "Motions and Gestures" are enabled like "Palm motion" and if you want to add a widget from home screen - the it crashes...How to fix this? If I have to change any widgets, I have to make sure all motions and gestures are enabled? How can such a buggy software released to customers?

    Hi there
Thank you for posting about some of the issues you are experiencing on your Galaxy S4 after Lollipop; I would be happy to help you address these!
Addressing the bugs you have started getting once you update your software, I would like to have you check a few things on your device:
How much available storage do you have on your device? If you do not have adequate space available, this could cause your phone to crash.
It is recommended to test your phones performance while in Safe Mode to determine if you are experiencing software issues and not possible third party application issues.
To put your phone into safe mode:
From a powered-off state, press Power to begin the boot process.
Once the company logo displays, press and hold Volume Down until the device fully boots.
If successful, the words Safe Mode displays at the bottom of the screen.
Once in Safe Mode, use your phone to see if the same bugs are present. If not, review the third party apps you have installed.
If the above has not corrected the issue, clearing the cache partition on your S4 could correct the error.
To clear the Cache Partition from your phone:
    Turn off your phone
Remove the battery (wait 15 seconds before inserting the battery back into your phone)
Hold down the Home and the Volume Up button, simultaneously.
Press and hold the Power button while still holding the Home and Volume Up.
As soon as you see the Samsung Logo, release all buttons.
    A menu will appear
Use the Volume Down button to scroll down to Wipe Cache Partition.
Press the Power button to select it
Press the Volume Down button to highlight Yes and Power button again to select it.
It will take a moment to clear all of the cache (this is deleting temporary files, not app data)
After the cache partition has been deleted, press the Power button to reboot your phone
If the above has still not corrected the issue, a factory reset would be recommended.
A factory reset should correct the Briefing alarm to work properly.  You can correct the Briefing alarm issue by going to your phones application manager and Force Stop Briefing, and reboot your phone.
    Thank you,
    Charise

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.

  • Installing Flash Player on Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 running Android 4.2.2

I need Flash Player on my Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 running Android 4.2.2, but I'm getting a message that it's not supported on my device.  Why is it not supported?

Your tablet (Kindle or Galaxy) uses the Android Operating System.
Adobe stopped ALL development of Flash for Android last year. (July 2012) That includes Kindle as well as Samsung Tablets. Additionally, Samsung and Amazon have ended support for Flash in ALL of their newest tablet models.
The following is from Samsung Support (07/31/2013):
"Beginning August 15, 2012 we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th, 2012."
    And from Kindle Support (07/31/2013):
"The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 1st Generation supports some, but not all, versions of Flash. Adobe Flash is pre-installed on a 1st Generation Kindle Fire and is disabled by default.
If you see a message to install Flash while using your Kindle Fire, this means that the content you're attempting to view uses Flash. If you want to view the content, you'll need to enable Flash through the Silk settings menu.
If a web page suffers from slow performance due to Flash, or you're unable to view a web page with Flash enabled, we recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a Flash-heavy website to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps library on your Kindle Fire, for availability.
The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, Kindle Fire HD 7", and Kindle Fire HD 8.9" doesn't support Flash.
Some sites use alternative web technologies to Flash in their mobile versions. We recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a website with Flash content to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps or Games library on your Kindle Fire, for availability."
    See: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions. html
There are older versions of Flash Player (for Android) at that link, but there are no guarantees any of them will work.
See also: "How do I manually install Flash Player on my Android device?"
You can find info about "Dolphin" for Android at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser It seems to be the browser of choice to play Flash content on an Android device.
Also, check the Android forums to see what their "gurus" recommend.

  • My husband has a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and can't receive my text from iPhone 5

Why can't my husband and daughter who are both using Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 Active not able to receive text from my iPhone 5 and my daughter's iPhone 4S?

    I have a simple solution.
The person who has the iPhone sending you the text messages your are not getting, has to press and hold the blue message box until the menu pops up and one option is to "Send as Text Message" tap that - have them send another new message to you, if it is blue, not green, repeat. I beleieve if you do that twice, the iPone will always send you a text message, not an iMessage.

  • How to get a replacement AC charger & cable for a new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini

I've had my new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini for a few days.  Last night I plugged in the phone's wall charger and cable to charge.  The following message appeared on the screen: To charge faster use the charger and cable provided with this phone.  I did use the charger and cable that was shipped with the phone.  Then the charging indicator under the Settings menu changed from charging to not charging several times.  I noticed that the plug into the phone was a little loose.
There is a little black tag on the cable with the following:  For warranty replacement of your phone call 1-866-406-5154
I called the number to see about getting a new cable and wall charger.  I was offered a free medical alert necklace if I was older than 50, and then I was told that I had won a free cruise and was asked about personal info such as social #.  I never did get to speak to anyone about the problems I am having with my charger.
So, I'm hoping I get two things resolved with this post.
I need a new cable and wall adapter to charge my new phone.
I would like someone to know that the cable that came with my new phone has a black tag on it with a phone number.  And when called, they ask for personal information in exchange for a free cruise on a ship.
    Thanks!
    Liz
