Side of my headphones wont work

I know its not the headphones because I have used several different pairs. Anything I can do?

If a reset/restore doesn't fix it then make an appointment at your nearest Apple store ( Assuming your Touch is still under warranty. ).
If the Genius folks can't fix it they'll replace it.

    I've only had my macbook pro for 3 months and now the headphones wont work. I was wondering, is there a way to fix it on my own? If I were to go to Apple, would they fix it free of charge or do I pay? How much would I pay?
    By the way, I have the 3 year warranty, but the man who sold me my mac said that the rules will change in january 2011, so I'm not sure if everything is free of charge.

  • Some of the left side of my screen wont work. What can i do that i havent already tried

    Some of the left side of my screen wont work . Its driving me nuts. Ive tried rebooting it all and since i did so i cant get my back up from icloud. Because my id and password has a 2 in it which i cant use ... Any help or suggestions would be great. I am dreading having to find an apple store.

  • My plug-in for headphones wont work

    okay, the thingy that you plug your head phones in mine wont work.
    the last couple of months its be like skipping, its like its scratched inside.
    whenever i moved the jack a certain way it wouldnt work, and sometimes when it did only one ear would work.
    now lately it barely works at all
    usually i can manage a way to place it for it to work but not anymore, its stripped down is what i think.
    and the thing is i cant use the speaker cause i got the old headphones.
    my warranty is used up cause i got this ipod last christmas.
    what am i supposed to do? :S

    Bite the bullet and pay for the iPod Touch to be repaired by Apple. It's cheaper than a brand new one, and at least then it will be fixed.
    The problem is probably some heavy scratching or bent metal inside the mini port (the headphones port). Unfortunately, there's no "EASY" way to fix this, and chances are, Apple will just send you a refurb back anyway.

  • Iphone headphones wont work, damaged hardware?

    I don't really know if this is the correct place to post this but well..
    I've been using the standard Iphone 5 headphones for a while now until recently they stopped working as they should, won't play/pause using the button thingy on them. So I tested them on my friends Iphone 4 and they worked as they should. So just wondering if I've damaged the hardware in the phone somehow or changed any settings by mistake

    If the headphones are working on a different iPhone, then I would suggest trying some of the troubleshooting steps below for your iPhone 5:

    my headphone minijack won't work. I've checked that the headphones I use work in everything else.

    The iPad has a standard 3.5 mm jack. Any pair of headphones with a 3.5 mm connector should work.
    Have you plugged them in all the way?

    So i click on a youtube clip or something it comes out of my computer even if i have headphones 
    if i click on audio at the bottom right of the screen, click mixer it comes up with headphones and speaker i click on headphones it come up with steam friends but if i click on speaker it comes up with system sounds and steam friends
    cant figure this out
    ,but these problems seem common with these envey pcs

    I see that you have some issue with sounds playing from the speakers even with headphones connected. Try this link to a third-party site, it will show you how to set the default audio device. Set the headphones as the default and the sound will go through headphones and when you remove it will go back to the speakers. The link is for Windows 7 since I you didn't mention what OS you are using. If you are using Windows 8 just search for Control Panel on your tile screen and then to go Sound and the rest of the steps will be the same.

  • Headphones wont work on a PC

    I have been trying to use my iPhone 4 headphones at school to listen to music and my headphones dont seem to work with any of the PCs. I get a sound coming out that sounds like the headphones are blown but they work just fine on my phone. Anyone have this problem and know a solution? I would rather not buy new headphones just for the PC.

    The headphones can be used with any normal stereo headphones jack. Are you sure you're putting them in properly?

  • Headphones stopped working after update, sound only on left side.

    I have a good set of Bose headphones that have worked great for my MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPod. I noticed after I updated the software for my MBP, sound would only come out of the left side of the headphones. I checked for mono vs. stereo, balance, all the other stuff I could find, but had no luck in finding a fix. I gave up and just used the headphones for with my iPhone and iPad...until I updated those to iOS 8.2 and the same problem happened: sound only through the left side. The headphones still work with other non-Apple devices and even with other apple devices not upgraded to the most recent OS.
    Any suggestions on how to fix? Not a fan of my $200+ headphones being useless now just because of a software update.

The right side of the screen wont work i cant unlock it or do anything on it.. this all happened after i left it in my car after a cold night... the problem didnt start at first it started about a day later.. i have no clue what do.... i dont knoow the operating system i think its 4.3.3 but i dont remember as its been a while since i last updated it... if anyone can help me let me know please

  • Ipod video right headphone not working

    i think the prong in my ipod video is out of place, if i hold the jack down and on an angle, it works in both ears but if it moves out of its place, the right headphone wont work. is there a way to fix it by myself? can i move the prong back into place? or do i need to send it in for repairs and if i do will they wipe my hard drive?

    wow. i just came across the same problem just a couple of days ago. My ipod was working fine in the morning and when I got off of work I got no sound out of the right earphone. I bought new headphones cause this has happened before and it was the headphones, but like you said, when pressure was applied to the jack it was only then that I got sound out of both earphones. Ive had my ipod for almost two years now and it is still in really good condition and I dont really know what could have brought this on. Is this a pretty common thing to happen? I had a 3rd generation before this one and had to send it back after a year or so because the battery died, but I did not have this problem with that one and was actually a lot rougher on it. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for the input.

  • Why does only the left side of my headphone working after ios6 except in phone calls ?

    After i updated my software to ios6 , i realised that the right side of my headphones doesn't work with music player nor with typing, yet it does work perfectly when i am on a phone call so it's not a hardware problem ....

    thats what i meant, if the same problem persists on two headphones its the jack, but the fact that one side of the original headphones works makes me think its the headphones. plug the headphones up to the computer and see if they work then

    Try to put your headphones several times in and out from your connection, might be the switch is stuck. Normally it should work again while trying to plug the headphones in and out!
