Side of screen detached 1/4 inch from case
one side of my iMac 350MHz monitor has become detached from the plastic casing about 1/4 inch, possibly happened when i picked it up to move it and had the screen pressed against me. It works fine. My question is, is this something I can fix on my own by opening up the case? Is there anything I should be aware of before attempting to do this? Thanks for your thoughts.
Try resetting the iPhone. Hold down the sleep and home buttons for 10 seconds until you see the white Apple logo. Then try recharging the phone again.
Change where you were plugging it into as well. I have read several reports of wall chargers being defective, and of PCs/laptops going to sleep, along with their USB ports, interrupting the charge.

iMovie9: How to stop an old movie from showing on the upper left side of screen? I only want to see current project. Go away, old movie... I have lines from the top of the screen to the bottom 4 lines. They are the size of the cursor and the one on the right acts like the cursor. Blinks. The other day I brought compuer up and I have a white transparent line right down the center of the screen about 1/8 inch thick. Does anyone know what is cauing this? Also computer is running slow.
Post a screen shot if you can by pressing cmd+shift+4 for only a certain section or cmd+shift+3 for a full screen shot.

I've just bought an iPad and there's a line that runs the whole length of the screen about an inch from the outside edge of the screen. Have I bought a faulty product?

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

G570 bought four months back - screen screw has come out from one side

I bought Ideapad G570 in June 2012 from Jumbo Electronics in Great India Place, Noida (UP). The Serial No is CBxxxxxxxx. Today I noticed that one of screws (through which lcd screen gets attached to the body) has come out of place and the laptop's screen is kind of hanging from one side. The product quality is pretty bad.
Anyway, I have got two queries:
1. How to avail on-site warranty support to get my laptop repaired?
2. When I checked about the warranty on your site through my serial no, it showed that my laptop's warranty expirtation date is 2013-04-26, which is less that a year from the date of purchase (3 June 2012). Could somebody explain me that?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Why is the print area on all envelope templates more than 1/2 inch from the left side of the envelope.. ? Can this be fixed or changed.. ?
I have pages 09 version 4.1... It is a small aggravation.. The left 3 or 4 characters on the return address would not print until I realized that by clicking on
" View " & " Show Lay-Out " that it was out side the printable range ...It seems to be a Pages template " Print range " issue.. Both the Epson and the HP printers were doing it and it was today that I realized why.. !!

Here is the procedure:
1. In the Data Warehousing Workbench under Modeling, select the InfoSource tree.
2. Select the InfoSource (with direct update) for the InfoObject, to which you want to load the hierarchy.
3. Choose Additional Functions® Create Transfer Rules from the context menu of the hierarchy table object for the InfoObject. The Assign Source System dialog box appears.
4. Select the source system from which the hierarchy is to be loaded. The InfoSource maintenance screen appears.
○ If the DataSource only supports the transfer method IDoc, then only the transfer structure is displayed (tab page DataSource/Transfer Structure).
○ If the DataSource also supports transfer method PSA, you can maintain the transfer rules (tab page Transfer Rules).
If it is possible and useful, we recommend that you use the transfer method PSA and set the indicator Expand Leaf Values and Node InfoObjects. You can then also load hierarchies with characteristics whose node name has a length >32.
5. Save your entries and go back. The InfoSource tree for the Data Warehousing Workbench is displayed.
6. Choose Create InfoPackage from the context menu (see Maintaining InfoPackages). The Create InfoPackage dialog box appears.
7. Enter the description for the InfoPackage. Select the DataSource (data element Hierarchies) that you require and confirm your entries.
8. On the Tab Page: Hierarchy Selection, select the hierarchy that you want to load into your BI system.
Specify if the hierarchy should be automatically activated after loading or be marked for activation.
Select an update method (Full Update, Insert Subtree, Update Subtree).
If you want to load a hierarchy from an external system with BAPI functionality, make BAPI-specific restrictions, if necessary.
9. If you want to load a hierarchy from a flat file, maintain the tab page: external data.
10. Maintain the tab page: processing.
11. Maintain the tab page: updating.
12. To schedule the InfoPackage, you have the following options:
○ (Manually) in the scheduler, see Scheduling InfoPackages
○ (Automatically) using a process chain (see Loading Hierarchies Using a Process Chain)
When you upload hierarchies, the system carries out a consistency check, making sure that the hierarchy structure is correct. Error messages are logged in the Monitor. You can get technical details about the error and how to correct it in the long text for the respective message.

Random screen blackout 2009 24 inch Cinema Display... HELP.
Random screen blackouts with 24 inch Cinema Display (purchased 2009). Never used with anything but same Macbook Pro (2009). No hardware changes on MBP. Just started June 6, 2012. Super annoying. Anyone else having this issue? Recommendations?

The link titled Download the 24-inch LED Cinema Display Update from the kb/TS4045 article worked for me when I tried it today. Click the "Download" link I post here or try the one in the kb article again. Perhaps it will work for you now?
However, I note that the kb article expressly states that this firmware update:
...is only intended for use with and will only install on the Apple 24-inch LED Cinema Display while the display is connected to a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac. (EZ Jim emphasis added)
If your Mac is really using Mac OS X (10.6.8) as shown in your initial topic posting, your Mac may not be Thunderbolt-enabled. If so, contact Apple or your Apple-Authorized Service Provider for help.

When I boot to the windows side my screen is pixelated.
When I boot my MacBook to windows, my screen is pixilated. Looks like a bunch of little Christmas lights flashing in the background. When I boot over to the mac side the screen is fine. Any idea why and how to fix it?

Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
If both the above tests pass, try the following.
If you don't already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD. Download the relevant ISO from the links below.
Windows 7 32bit
Windows 7 64bit
You should use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. Once created, or if you already have this, insert the CD into the notebook and restart to boot from it. Select the Repair option.
Select the 'Repair your Computer' option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.

Thanks.Do you mean you want it saved with the resolution set to something other than 72 dpi when the capture is made, or do you mean you want your capture saved at a higher resolution than the captured area?
1) If the first, there are ways to change the default capture format .png to something else, such as .jpg, .tif and a few others, but as far as I know, the resolution will always be 72 dpi. You can use Preview to change the resolution of the captured image under Tools > Adjust Size. You will get this:
If your intention is to set the resolution for professional printing defaults, then change the resolution to 300. Turn off Resample image to prevent the image from actually having more pixels added. The resolution will simply be reset from 72 to 300 dpi without changing the actual number of pixels in the image. It will also print a lot smaller since the output device will now use 300 pixels per linear inch instead of 72.
Leave Resample image on if you need to maintain the dimensions. Be aware however that scaling the image (resampling) will add a lot more pixels to the image than are there to maintain size. Expect the image to get very soft and pixelated looking when adding 417% more data to the image than it currently has.
2) If you mean you want the OS to actually save the captured area as a high resolution image at size, that can't happen. A capture is a 1:1 grab of the display buffer. It can only capture what's there. So if you capture a 700 pixel x 500 pixel area, that's all the bigger it can be without scaling it afterwards. -

Try:

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Not only this but I can't drag from Itunes and place anywhere on my desktop or onto an external drive. Apple, why are you screwing around with basic functions!? I'm a dj and I need to be able to manage my music files without you ruining my life! FIX THIS!
