Side volume buttons only work with phone

the side volume button on my 4S only works when talking on the phone. It will not work for music. Does anyone know why? There has been no water on this phone.

Re-insert a pair of headphones and remove them. Or restart the phone.

The problem is that only some single Vista drivers were published for Qosmio G20 and not all functions can be used.

One hint; some of the items of Toshiba Value added package for the G30 can be installed on G20.
Install only the checked items. In other way you will have conflicts with windows mobility center.

Close Button only works with Publish Independent

I've any problem, Close/Exit Button (close the active window)
only works in a project publish as independent? Why not function in

Hi Esch and welcome to our community, Roma
To Esch: I believe Roma is referring to the Exit button found
on the Captivate playback controls.
To Roma: If you perform a search of the Captivate forums for
"Close window", you will probably find gobs of posts with similar
issues. And if you were to perform a similar search using Google,
you would see that these issues aren't exactly Captivate related.
They are browser related. The bottom line is that the Close window
functionality doesn't simply work consistently across the board.
Different browsers treat it differently.

Volume button not working with music

I have tried restartingy phone, I have done rewet as well.
even after all this, the problem still exist.
restarting the phone does solve the problem, but thats temporarily only. On an average, I have to restart my phone 2-3 times a day.
also many a times, it doesn't shows the name of the person whenever somebody calls, although the number is already saved. I have many friends in my surrounding with same handset, but home of them is facing such a problem.
my phone isn't even a month old, and is troubling me a lot. Want to get it rectifoed asap else i'll filing for a replacement.

The fact you have not mentioned the actual model of phone you have is somewhat irrelevant, because if you have had the handset for less than a month it will still be in warranty and depending on where you are based could also be within an exchange period. I would suggest returning it to whoever supplied it and getting it repaired/replaced. It should be done at no cost to you as your warranty will cover it.

Phone only works with speaker on

my iphone5 only works with the speaker on. otherwise we cannot hear each other

One thing i notice is that when i adjust the volume on the side of the phone the screen says that volume changes are being made for the ringer (headphones).
So my phone thinks there are headphones connected when there aren't.
How disappointing this update it starting out to be. People are calling and I can't talk to them without headphones or the speaker on.

i can relate...it's frustrating! i suddenly have that same issue, as well as my off button isn't working....my phone was functioning just fine until my granddaughter played with it for about 5
minutes> that's all it took, the volume & off button didn't work when she gave it back to me. call it coincidental...who knows, and know one seems to know the FIX. but i can tell you that if your sound setting is ON, then that's not going to fix the problem. i've even reset my phone from settings, but that didn't resolve the issue either. the next step would be to plug into itunes & do a factory restore.....but i read someone tried that and it didn't work either, so good luck getting a resolution for this...:)

Safari is not working and siri only works with the phone not internet related questions.

I have an Iphone 5 and for about 8 months it worked find, then somewhere along the line I think about the time I upgraded to the latest OS, Safari stopped working. That is when I hit a link from email or open safari I get the browser window but nothing works, like its been blocked. Siri of course only works with internal serches, through contacts and such. My other browsers (crome, oprea and mercury) work fine. I have been through all the internal settigns I can find, but nothing has worked. Have cleared history cookes with no suceess. Any ideas?

Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with Safari after upgrading to iOS 7.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the apps that are open, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.

Have you done a restore of the phone to see if that fixed the problem with the speaker? If that doesnt help then you probably damaged something inside the phone when you dropped it.
If you're annoyed by the problem, you can always get a replacement phone

Number one - that person has given you false information...the Apple store genius bar supports all Apple products whether in or out of warranty. Checking is free, service on an out of warranty item is not free.
Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
Since you show that you have iOS 7.0.3 you might want to update that iOS to 7.0.4...plug the iPhone in so you are on a solid power source, then while on a WiFi go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to 7.0.4.

Maybe I understood your problem. Get to Settings > Sounds > Ringers and Alerts >Turn Change With Buttons to Off. And if your Side Switch is assigned to 'Mute', turn it back on, else, use the control center to turn off mute.

I bought this phone from someone and everything works fine but when I try to push the side volume buttons, nothing happens. I can only change it from Normal to Vibrate on the Applications Menu (?). Also, I tried pushing the top mute button and it entered standby mode. How do I change this?
