Sidebar does not display when in Develop module

Issues with the sidebars in Develop module such as when hovering mouse over left or right on screen does not make sidebar show. Also, when in full screen mode the sidebars seem to have been completely disabled. Have just upgraded from LR 3 to 5.

Thanks ssprengel. There seems now to be two different 'full screen' modes. Pressing the Shift and F keys changes what you see. I'm used to only pressing the F key. Now I am able to view the side bars, as well as the top and bottom bars, when I wish. However, maybe a bug, maybe not, the right bar does not come into view when the curser hovers over the left hand side. The three other side bars, top, left and bottom, do become visible when curser hovers over the respective areas. Thanks to your help this is no longer as important an issue (for me at least). In the Window menue you have the Screen Mode which gives you all the options. Thanks again.

LR5 - Selected image does not display in the Develop Module

I recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4.1. I have seen on several occasions where the selected image in the Develop Module does not appear. I can move back to the LIbrary view and the image appears, but when I switch back to the Develop Module, the image disappears and only a black box appears (dark grey really). This seems to happen after I have deleted flagged files using the ALT-Backspace shortcut. This has happeded when I deleted while in the Library and Develop Module, but does not happen every time. I have disabled the "Show photo on Mouse Over" view option. Prior to that, the preview window shows the selected or moused over photo.
The only thing I can do to get the develop module to work again is to restart Lightroom. I've seen no other posts regarding this issue and it is very annoying when trying to go through 4000 photos! I can find no place to report bugs, so I am posting this here.

i found LR5 the most bug infested LR version ever.
i "use" it only as test setup.
real work i still do with LR 4.4.

nope.. in this forum you will only hear that this is not such a big issue and will be fixed soon.
honestly im waiting for some bugs to be fixed since v3.6..... and i gave up on reporting new bugs to adobe.
i just hope that some day they will be fixed.
there is a text layer bug in photoshop i reported back in 2011 and that´s still in photoshop CC.....

After Mozilla upgraded (5 I think) my igoogle homepage does not display when I sign in.

I upgraded to Mozilla 5, (I think, as there does not seem to be any previous versions when I check), now my personalized igoogle homepage does not display when I sign in. I need to go to options then select igoogle. All was well before. How do I reset without having to completely redo my igoogle page. I do not believe I have the 6.0 version as that is what it says I can upgrade to. I am retired and am only learning.

Unless you have a version of iPhoto that was 9.0 or later you will not be able to download iPhoto 9.6.1 from the App Store. To get 9.6.1 you'll need to purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from an online retailer like Amazon.com and then go the App Store and download 9.6.1. Those who had an iPhoto 9.0 or later already installed have been able to get 9.6.1. But there's been no reports from anyone who bought iLife 11 and went that route so you're at your own risk.

Video does not display when sending from Final Cut Pro to Motion

Suddenly, when sending an audio & video sequence to Motion, a new Motion file is created, and all my layers come in properly, but the video does not display.
The audio plays fine, and Motion clearly know that there are video tracks there, but it does not display them.
Additionally, when rendering the Motion file back in FCP, it turns in to black video.
I have previous sequences within the same project that were sent just fine, and are editable properly, but any new ones I try to create just come out black.
Help, please?

Do you have Motion mistakenly set to render out with an Alpha channel?
Double click your Motion clip in the Timeline. Go to Modify > Composite Mode in the menu bar and set the Alpha to "None/Ignore".

Content does not display when page first opened

Hi All;
I have a contenta are/region which I have divided into multiple tabbed areas. I have two main tabs that divide the content into two major topics. Within each of these main areas I have added 4 to five tabs. One set for example holds a calendar, another tab a news release area and a third a content area for holding multiple folders of a department's documentation. The problem I am encountering is that when I first bring up the page all I see are the tabs and no matter what tab area is exposed the content within it is not displayed. For example, I start with the Calendar tab active (the calendar does not display). I then click on to say the document area, which displays all of its content's correctly. When I return to the calendar tab the calendar is displayed. My question... how can I ensure that the calendar (or any other tabbed area's content is displayed when the user first brings up the page?
PS. This is a hot topic since I will be demoing my pages to my managers next week in an effort to convince them that Oracle Portal is the way to go.

Look at the source on that page. There is virtually no styling on it....

There is nothing telling the page which fonts to use, or which colors to use. Are you sure you have uploaded the correct page?

Video icon in buddy list does not display when iChat not running?

I have my father-in-law's computer setup to automatically log into iChat when he turns on the computer. However, it does not say he can video chat (the icon does not display) until he actually opens iChat. Is there any way around this? The only thing I thought of was to get iChat to open at login and just not display the buddy list.
Basically, I want him to be available to video chat with his grand daughter...but he doesn't need to see the buddy list or the app for that matter. She would initiate all chats.

I am trying to imagine what you have done here.
It is possible to have iChat as a Login Item.
It is possible for iChat to start Up with the Buddy Lists hidden.
From there Chats can be started from the File menu or Apple key and N together.
To do it this way you have to know the Screen Name of who you are calling.
You should be able to accept incoming A/V chats.

Notification on skpe in iphone 6 does not display when there is incoming messages

The user has a iphone6 and installed the latest Skype. However, when there is incoming messages, the badge(red counter) does not display in the icon.I have tried everything i could, background refresh, uninstall and reinstall,, check the settings and reboot the iphone a few times etc...but the notification badge simply will not show.Can anyone advise a remedy to this?Very much appreciated.

I used Iphone 5 till yesterday with IOS 7.2 and older version of Skype and no issues at all . I could see group chats and every single chat possible on my phone as on my laptop Now i have an Iphone 6 and the newest software and the skype application I CAN ONLY SEE PEOPLE but not group chats on my phone . I dont get notification about the group but i can easy see on my laptop that there are chats missedOnly if the person msg me away from that group I can get the msg on my phone WHy is this happening . How can i go back to old version of Skype and should i go back to it??Do I need to downgrade the softwareIm using Skype for business on a daily basis and group chats are crucial for my work PLEASE HELP !!

Regarding "New Tab Page" - dragging a bookmark from the libary does not display when "+" is selected

It's maddening that I can't fix something so simple.
When I click on the "+" a new page opens with unpopulated entries for websites. I've tried the steps in "New Page Tab" and managed to drag and drop a bookmark from my "library".
The prompts look OK but the site does not appear in the vacant entry box. It looks like it should work. Is there a simple (stupid) step that I'm missing?

I want to choose what appears in the 9 boxes on the new tab screen. Why can't I click an empty box and enter the web address to be used for that box. Even if it did work, drag and drop a terrible way to do this. "Bookmarks-Add to new tabs" would be a 2 click operation. Instead some developer wanted to play with drag and drop and got it wrong. I suggest adding the simple functionality first and experiment with drag an drop later.
Also it is suggested that add-ons could stop the functionality from working. This is like saying your car won't start if you put a passenger in it. I'd guess someone just made that suggestion to try to be helpful rather than out of any actual experience of it fixing this problem.

Image does not display when selected

Images are not displayed on opening. Progress bar "Reading Photoshop format" runs and fnishes. Layer info is displayed at right. But the image is not shown in the work space.
(Added) Problem occurs with PSD and DNG (ACR) file types only. JPG files open fine. DNG opens in ACR but the "Open" button has no effect. PSD does not appear at all, when selected.
Any ideas appreciated.

Looks like stopping/restarting PS resolved this issue, at least for the moment. I'm quite new to the Mac World, and may have pressed some wrong keys/combinations (?).

Table in scrolling sidebar does not display in Preview

I pasted a table into the scrolling sidebar widget, it see the table fine in iBooks Author, can edit it and everything. I send a preview to my iPad and the whole widget appears as a blank but if I scroll through, I do see a scroll bar so the widget is not empty, but the content is invisible. I do see the content while the page is loading and in the table of contents when the page appears as an icon.

Jpeg image loaded with Loader- loadBytes() does not display when app is deployed on remote server

I am loading a JPEG image from the server, using the Loader->loadBytes() and that works when the app is deployed under my local Tomcat server. When I deploy it on other servers the image is not displayed, instead of the image I see II*
On the server side I have java, Spring, BlazeDs and I use RemoteObject on the client.
The code that loads the image looks like below:

Thank you for the prompt reply, your question about the jpeg content was a helpful pointer.
I solved the problem, it had nothing to do with flex, it was all on the java side. The image was obtained from converting a TIFF to a JPEG, the conversion was failing and the flex loader was receiveing a tiff and it did not know how to display it.
The java problem was kind of interesting, I'll post it here as an FYI in case anybody cares :
On my server the first writer returned by ImageIO was an instance of JPEGImageWriter and on the other servers was CLibJPEGImageWriter. And it happens that only JPEGImageWrite can write the type of TIFF that we are having.
The fix was to iterate through all the writers and pick the instace of JPEGImageWrite, instead of the first one found.

Control mouseover image does not display when contained in an array of clusters.

I have been using system booleans (with some customization) for the ability to impement mouseover animations. For example (default system booleans):
The mouseover feedback works well with my UI, and for the most part everything is going great.
However, the mouseover image does not load if the the boolean is contained within an array of clusters (a single cluster with the boolean inside or an array of booleans works as expected):
The mouseover animation does work for a single array element in the above case (the one which was most recently clicked), but this behavior isn't desirable and it seems buggy if I were to leave this on my UI as it is.
So I guess I'm just wondering if anybody has encountered this or has any suggested workarounds? The few that I've thought of so far (maintain a separate array for any set of system boolean controls, check coordinates myself on mouse move event and try to update the proper element in the array, avoid using mouseover animations entirely for this set of controls) aren't all that desirable. Even though this issue could be considered cosmetic, the UI is very important to me as this code is something shipped to customers.
This is LV 2011 by the way, so if by some chance the behavior in 2012 is correct please let me know (this alone might be reason enough to convert the project up). If there is a CAR ID for this behavior and an NI employee wishes to share it I would also appreciate that.

A reproducing VI would be any VI that contains an array of clusters with a system control boolean inside. Here's an example:
Single Boolean, Single Cluster, and Array of Booleans all show the proper mouseover image.
Array of Clusters always shows the mouseover effect on the last element which was clicked, but does not show the mouseover effect on other array elements (actually, it seems to be inconsistent--every now and then it does show the mouseover effect on other array elements but it is not at all reliable).

Console does not display when X exits (Formerly X hard locks on exit)

Interesting problem, I think:
Going from the X server to the console, I only get a black screen, and my monitor seems to think nothing is there - it seems like X won't give up control of the screen. Now, I've narrowed this down to a problem with the open source radeon drivers, as the vesa driver gives me no problem.
I've tried the following to no effect:
- Turning compositing on and off
- Using no xorg.conf, as well as auto creating one with X -configure
- Raising Elephants, which does work, though I still can't get back to any of the consoles after Alt+Sysrq+R
- Swapping ati for radeon in xorg.conf, and vice versa
- Using different DEs (xfce and fluxbox)
- Analyzing Xorg.0.log right before (cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log > xLog && xfce4-session-logout) , and after logout -- diff shows no difference. I'm puzzled by this, actually. Obviously, the X server does not state that it has exited, being that it doesn't, but it's not throwing an error, either.
- Checking the forums for anyone else having this problem
There was a similar bug over in ubuntu, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/129910, but tty1-6 are all working at boot, which I don't think was the case in that bug.

This command works:
xfce4-session-logout && cat /var/log/messages > message1 && shutdown -h now
So it's not a hard lock, so much as the console can't regain control of the screen.

My Online Number Does Note Display When I Call Out...

I have been told by people I call that their phones do not display my online #. They see Unknown Number or Number Available or Another # I do not recognize.
This is a new problem for me. I have had the same online # for over a year.
Thoughts?

This so full of BS on Skypes part, I have to constantly come to my settings on this web site to reinactivate caller ID, it is the only place to do it, there is no setting on the app itself. First, why is the setting not being saved? Who is turning it off? Why do I have to go this website to activate it and same with the voicemail message greeding? Should be done via app!
