Sidebar losing highlight to which drive file is in

I hope I can describe this in a way that makes sense...When I am using the sidebar finder, I have my HD and a server showing on the left side. If I navigate to a file (let's say on my HD) and I do not have it in multi-column view, the HD is no longer highlighted. Therefore, I no longer have a visual confirmation of whether I am finding files on the HD or the server.
This seems to work fine if I stay in multi-column view, but once I choose one-column or icon view I can't see which drive I'm selecting from
. Is there a preference or update I can adjust?
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

The top of the window is showing the last layer of folder, the problem is I need to keep track of the root of the folders.
In other words:
macHD/work/project1/folder1/file
vs.
server/work/project1/folder1/file
Once I get the file level, top of the sidebar would only show "folder1" and no longer highlights the root folder in the left column. This is happening on 2 of my computers that both have Tiger 10.4.5 installed on them. There do not appear to be any more recent updates.

How do I import images from my hard drive without losing resolution? My original files after import are significantly smaller. What should I do?

Hi Keith, and all others chiming in, I do have the correct option checked in advanced settings telling iPhoto to copy the images into the library. What is a refernced library? Perhaps this is where I am getting confused. I exported my entire photo library from an old iMac5 to my external hard drive, from there I attempted to import the entire library to my new iMac. Am I overlooking an obvious and easy way to import from the hard drive to the new iMac--I dragged the entire photo pholder from the hard drive to the open window of iPhoto on the new computer. Now, I only get preview file sizes in iPhoto, unless I have my external drive open. Perhaps I need to import the original images from the hard drive in a different way...?! (This is making me feel pretty stupid.)

  • How to identify which drive is the current boot drive?

I have a PowerBook running Leopard, and I prefer to boot from the external drive. It's bigger and has my working files. The current internal drive is for future use, for when I have a replacement machine. I know how to specify the boot drive in Preferences, but sometimes the machine reboots without me. I don't know how to verify which drive I'm booted from. I changed the desktop background, so that once I'm logged in I can tell, but surely there is a more direct way to determine this. Isn't there?

A simple option would be to select About this Mac from the Apple menu.

  • BEA MS Sql server which driver to use?

We have BEA weblogic 8.1 and want to work with sql server Which driver
    shoudl we use ?
    i believe driver is deprecated
Bea talks about the new driver
"WebLogic Server 8.1 SP1 includes a new JDBC driver from BEA for connecting
to a Microsoft SQL Server database. The BEA WebLogic Type 4 JDBC MS SQL
Server driver replaces the WebLogic jDriver for Microsoft SQL Server, which
is deprecated. The new driver offers JDBC
3.0 compliance, support for some JDBC 2.0 extensions, and better
performance. BEA recommends that you use the new BEA WebLogic Type 4 JDBC MS
SQL Server driver in place of the WebLogic jDriver for Microsoft SQL
    Server."
Do we have to install sp1 or sp2 to work with this driver. How can we get
    sp1 ,
    Thanks,

Where did the Driver file place?
You can copy the driver file to the JAVA_HOME/lib
folderDo not put that JDBC JAR in JAVA_HOME/lib.
You should put it someplace close to your app and add it to the CLASSPATH when you compile and run?
Geez, doesn't anybody think about a standard directory structure to use for their apps? Put it in a /lib directory with the rest of your app stuff. - MOD

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue with crashing or the Blue screen on your HP Notebook. I found that if you try to remove the Microsoft update KB2670838. This could be causing the error.

  • Which template file is used for DITA 1.2 publishing?

    Hi all,
when I save a ditamap as composite document, which template file must I edit to change the layout?
So far I have modified the topic templates (task.template.fm etc.) but I have not found the template relevant for the output yet.
    Update
The ditafm_output.ini file contains the line CompositeDocTemplate_1.2=ditabase.template.fm but exchanging all ditabase.template.fm files in the FM directory did not do the job.
This seems like is a very basic question so I wonder why it is not documented - or am I missing something? The only workaround I found was to manually import the EDD and formatting from my template into the FM document each time after publishing.
    Robert

Either I'm confused about dates, or there's a harmonic convergence going on.  I am just now grappling with this problem myself and lo, here is a discussion that started yesterday!
So far I have tried altering the Struct Apps file to specify which template to use in the DITA_1.2_ditabase applicaton, and I have tried editing the template file stored in ...\AdobeFrameMaker11\Structure\xml\DITA_1.2\app\technicalContent\template\ditabase.templ ate.fm...  Neither of these activities makes a difference.  So when Maker saves a DITA map as a composite document, does it use any of the applications in the App Definitions file?  Or is it using hard-coded magic for some unexplicable reason?  If the latter, that should be logged as a bug.
I'm getting convinced that Maker doesn't use the Struct Apps file at all when saving as a composite doc because I have deleted all app definitions from the file except DITA_1.2_ditabase.  I still get the same results no matter how I define the template.  Then when I use Scott's trick to check which app created the document, it shows DITA_1.2_ditabase -- BUT, the Set Application list shows the full set of apps that I could choose from the default struct apps file.  (Yes, I have loaded my changed struct apps file -- and verified that it has only one app in it by restarting Maker and choosing EDIT struct apps file...  It has a single app as expected.)  So I don't believe I have reduced the set of defined struct apps at all, even though I have only one app in the loaded struct apps file!  Where is this information coming from, and why can't I control it?  In short, this area of the product is unpredictable for my feeble brain, and I can't afford to spend any more time on it.  I have deadlines to meet.
Bottom line, I can't seem to do ANYTHING that will change Maker's behavior when saving a dita map as a composite document.  This is a real problem, BTW.  It means that my daily work flow always includes the stupid, manual steps of importing formats and EDD from another template after I create the file!  Can this possibly be acceptable behavior?  Note to Adobe...  This is the sort of thing that drives a customer to use a different product.

  • Looking at External SSD Drive for Lightroom Editing - How Can I Set This Up and Which Drive?

I'd like to purchase an external SSD drive for Lightroom editing and am hoping somebody can provide a recommendation for me.
I'm using a FW800 G-Drive to store my Lightroom Library and have been using this drive to edit.  I'd like to add an external SSD drive for editing photographs an am looking for recommendations on which drive and the best way to set this up.  I plan on having a 3rd (and maybe 4th) to save both the FW800 files and working SSD drive files as a backup.
    Any recommendations are sincerely appreciate.

I believe I was loading a preview file to 100%.  I think maybe I should just use what I have and work with it.  It's much faster than my 7 year old MBP performed that's for sure.
I was just wondering if I could spend a few hundred for an external Thunderbolt or USB 3 drive to speed up my productivity.  With the full time job and the kids, I have a little time to work on photography.  I'd love to increase my output.  I'm more than willing to spend the money on the TB or USB 3 if it would help.
The specs on the camera say 24.1 million pixels:  24.6 MB.  The raw files are

  • Help fixing some changes discovered after external hard drive files were recovered.

My external hard drive files were rescued and placed on a new one.  I have 2 issues that I need to resolve.  Most important, in many of the files, up to half the RAW image files were returned converted to a CR2 symbol.  I can't open them or upload them.  Aperture tells me that the images aren't supported.  They weren't this way before the recovery.  I need to be able to open and work with these files, again.  I'm not sure how random files were converted during the recovery process. But, I sure need a solution, to get them to open again.
Second problem, hopefully simpler to solve.  Is there a way to tell Aperture that the files connected with the previews have been relocated?  It's looking for the files in a location that no longer exists.  I could start all over again, and upload each album, which will take a long time.  I'm hoping there is a way to avoid this.

Welcome to the Oracle VM Server for SPARC installer.
You are about to install the LDoms Manager package, SUNWldm, that will enable
you to create, destroy and control other domains on your system. You will
also be given the option of running the Oracle VM Server for SPARC Configuration
Assistant (ldmconfig) to setup the control domain and create guest domains.
If the Solaris Security Toolkit (SST) is installed, you will be prompted to
    optionally harden your control domain.
Oracle VM Server for SPARC Configuration
Once installed, you may configure your system for a basic LDoms
deployment. If you select "y" for the following question, the Oracle
VM Server for SPARC Configuration Assistant (tty) will be launched
following a successful installation of the packages.
(You may launch the Configuration Assistant at a later time with the
command: /usr/sbin/ldmconfig, or use the GUI Configuration Assistant
which is bundled in the Oracle VM Server for SPARC zip file - see
    README.GUI for more details)
    Select an option for configuration:
    y) Yes, launch the Configuration Assistant after install
    n) No thanks, I will configure the system manually later
    Enter y or n [y]: n
Given the capabilities of the LDoms Manager, you can now change the
security configuration of this Solaris instance using the Solaris
    Security Toolkit.
Select a security profile from this list:
    a) Hardened Solaris configuration for LDoms (recommended)
    b) Standard Solaris configuration
    c) Your custom-defined Solaris security configuration profile
    Enter a, b, or c [a]: a
The changes made by selecting this option can be undone through the
Solaris Security Toolkit's undo feature. This can be done with the
    '/opt/SUNWjass/bin/jass-execute -u' command.
Verifying that all packages are fully installed. OK.

  • I want the PCI-MIO-16-E4 ad board driver file.

I am  doing research in aerospace department Anna university. i am using the hotwire annemometer. Data acquisition  purpose using the PCI-MIO-16-E4 AD board. The driver file of the board is corrupted. so request you to send the driver file.
    thank you

    Hi!
The board you're using is quite old, check for NI PCI-6040E (which is said to be "formerly known as PCI-MIO-16E-4").  So you should search for that drivers, the one for PCI 6040.  See the attached links:
       PCI 6040E
       traditional DAQ
       devices supported by traditional DAQ
This board is supported also by Ni-DAQmx, which is a newer set of drivers. Check for LV and OS compatibility....
But... just a question, how do you say that driver is corrupted? Do you have a message from LV, or whatelse?
       Hope I can help...
    graziano
PS.: Just a note, post these kind of requirement under Data aquisition, or DAQ forums, there you can find exactly what you need!

  • JDBC Driver File

    Hi all,
I am using Oracle 9i application server and have installed an OC4J instance on it. I am trying to execute some servlet that makes JDBC calls(This servlet is mounted on the OC4J instance).
When I start my OC4J instance using "java -jar oc4j.jar" I found that it was using classes12dms.jar(under <ORACLE_HOME>/jdbc/lib directory) as the JDBC driver.
But I am not able to figure out which JDBC driver file is being used when I start the OC4J instance using
"java -jar orion.jar". Also can anyone point out to me as to why there are 2 ways to start the OC4J instance (is it only 2 different versions- oc4j.jar and orion.jar- or do they have different functionalities?) . This might look naive to you, but I am new to this.
This is very critical for my debugging.
Can anybody provide any pointers regarding this?
    I would be really grateful.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Warm Regards,
    Chetan Dixit

    Chetan,
As far as I know, "orion.jar" was only used in the first version of OC4J (1.0.2.2.1). Since then, each version only has an "oc4j.jar" file. Hence I don't understand your question. You simply cannot start OC4J using the "orion.jar" file (because OC4J does not have an "orion.jar" file).
Of-course OrionServer still has an "orion.jar" file. If I remember correctly, JDBC driver files are usually installed into the "j2ee/home/lib" subdirectory (of the "OrionServer" installation).
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Which driver is my server using with these settings ??

Another question guys....have been having a bad week...so sorry for this sudden barge
    of questions...
I have weblogic.jar before classes12.zip in my managedServer classpath.
In my connection pool params , I have
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@nynwspdb1:1521:OP02
    DRIVER CLASSNAME: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
So with these settings which driver is my weblogic server using ?
The Oracle thin driver classes12.zip or Oracle drivers which comes along with weblogic
    Any help is appreciated..
    Thanx,
    Krish

    Hi Krish
Your server is using the Oracle thin driver that ships with WebLogic. Switch
the order if you want to use a newer version of that driver (assuming
