Sidebar now says "films" and "tv programmes"

Hey all, so I'm from the UK and our iTunes store uses the terminology of "Films" and "TV Programmes" when browsing. But my sidebar used the more friendly terms of "TV Shows" and "Movies"
But after upgrading to iTunes 9 I now get "Films" and TV Programmes" in my main sidebar. Did this happen to any other UK users? It's a small issue but annoys me for some reason...

I have the odd situation that it has updated on my laptop, but not on my desktop.
My desktop is an Intel iMac running Tiger, my laptop is a MacBook Pro running Leopard. Not sure if it's the old OS that makes the difference.
I'd love to get it to change on my iMac, so if anyone figures out how you can customise this, please let me know. It's always bugged my that there is the inconsistency between the store and the application itself, and much prefer the de-Americanised versions.

If there is not enough RAM, OS X temporarily stores RAM data on the harddrive and tries to retrieve it back into RAM when needed, unfortunately that is so slow that GB throws an error as it cannot play it all in real time.

Terms: "Films" and "TV Programmes" in Interface

I have both Australian and UK iTunes Store accounts. I logged into the UK account and the Library term for "Movies" changed to "Films" and "TV Shows" changed to "TV Programmes". This is expected. However, there was a program crash and now the terms are fixed as the UK terms despite logging into the Australian store. I hate the UK terms and want to fix this. Updating to 11.1 has not resolved it. I tried to delete iTunes so that I can install it fresh but Mac OS 10.8.5 won't let me remove it.

I tricked it. Opened System Preferences > Language & Text. Changed Region to United Kingdom and quit iTunes. Changed Region back to Australia, relaunched iTunes and it's now showing Movies and TV Shows in the Library again.

I Have Lion installed but App Store now says INSTALL and now it has schanged to DOWNLOAD - What is going on!

I have Lion installed on my MacBook Pro but recently the App Store has changed from greyed-out INSTALLED to a dark status INSTALL and changed yet again to DOWNLOAD. I have no idea what is going on with the App Store BUT I do NOT want to re-install Lion again! Does anyone know why this is happening? Any help appreciated. I have spoke many times to iTunes Support staff and technical staff - They seem just as baffled as myself............

Actually, simply downloading the new installer will not result in reinstalling Lion unless you click on the Install button after the installer starts up on your computer. Instead just quit the installer and copy the installer from your Applications folder to your Downloads folder for safe keeping. And, you can use it to make your own USB flash drive installer:
Make Your Own Lion Installer
1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that you can use without having to re-download Lion.

Itunes update failed to install due to error - now says reinstall and its their screwup

An update came up on my computer so started the installment - went thru removal then about half way thru installing update gave me error and went off screen. Tried to open iTunes and says MSVCR80.dll is missing - reinstall program. Said it was not installed correctly. Didn't have a problem with iTunes until this update - any suggestions to fix

Urgent - Heartbleed add on now saying googlemail and mozilla add on page vunerable

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

ITunes films and tv programs subtiles

I am a deaf adult does iTunes store have subtitles or closed caption with all films and tv programmes? If so how can you tell? I don't want to waste money on buying one that does not have that option.

if its trying to delete your content, its doing ti because its convinced that you have not synced with that computer before. The fact that the library is on a NAS doesn't matter - its the machine that it syncs with that counts.
Are you 100% sure that you synced wit that machine last AND that you are logged in with the same iTunes account that was used to download the movies etc ?

My guess is that they recently changed how the videos work. I logged in on my MacBook and the stream worked fine, but it is Flash content in a JW Player video player. From what I see on the website. This video player works with html5 as well as Flash so I'm not sure why it isn't working, unless the site has not updated the content for html5 and is only using Flash right now. But you should get the message on the iPad that the content is in Flash and can't be viewed on the iPad.
I tried it with three different browsers identifying as mobile and as desktop browsers and I get the same results as you no matter what I do. So my assumption is that the site content was recently changed and it has to be updated. But that is just a guess.
The message about the website having issues when I used iCab Mobile and identified as a desktop browser. The issue has to be on their end.

Ipad App Store said "20" updates. I attempted to update w/3G. Now many apps say "Waiting" and are frozen. When I go online and plug into computer it just updates and doesn't address the individual apps, which still say "Waiting" and are frozen.

All it did was very quickly go thru the 4 steps and said, "Synched, OK to uplug." I clicked my ipad and then apps. It also said Update complete (or something like that). Oh a few other things I forgot.
The long winded back-ups!!!! JESSSSSSH! Although I think the latest update seems to have bit into this a bit.
Also why is it that sometimes when the iPhone is syncing it will not say on the actual iPhone that it is syncing. I see it's syncing in iTunes but the iPhone doesn't have the typical do not disconnect -syncing message!!! What's odd is I can see the new apps being updated to the iPhone and as long as I don't open any apps it will finish it's sync but the minute I open any apps the iPhone will lock-up!!!

I use my Apple TV mostly to stream from Netflix, and up until recently it worked perfectly. Now the film freezes ever minute or so and it takes another minute to start up again. This doesn't happen when I stream directly onto my laptop.

I have had an Apple TV for over a year. I use it mainly to stream programs from Netflix, and up until a few months ago, I had no poroblems. Now it has become impossbile to watch a Netflix program on my TV because the film freezes every couple of minutes, or less, and seems to be downloading. It starts again, but the same thing happens in a couple of mnutes more. I have tried pausing the film for a few minutes to let it download, and I have even started a film, and then paused it, half an hour before starting to watch it, hoping that this would allow the entire film, or most of it, to download, but it hasn't helped. I don't have this problem when I download directly from Netflix onto my laptop, but then I don't need Apple TV. Of course, I'd rather watch films on my TV than on my laptop. Any suggestions other than buying a new Apple TV after just over a year?

When I was searching I also found similar problems with screen brightness affecting wireless networking in iPads and MacBooks. So it seems like screen backlighting can generate wireless interference. The joy of technology.

I'm in the same situation. I was up trying to get on the Verizon page at 11:55, kept getting the ECPD error. When finally got through, the Silver Iphone Plus 64 showed arrival of 9-19. At every step of the process, it seemed that I was ordering a phone that would arrive on day1. At no point did it say this was an estimate. At no point did it say it might change. In a big yellow box, it said "9-19". Ordered it, then got confirmation email stating it should arrive at 9-19. Seems like all should be good, right? Order site said 9-19, I've got a confirmation email saying 9-19, done and done.
Then I check the website, and suddenly it changed to 10-14?!?!?!? I feel like this was a bait and switch. I was able to pickup an iphone5 in a local store on launch day, and would not have locked myself into a preorder through Verizon if I had known this would happen!
So, that leads back to the original questions. Lets assume I walk into a Verizon store on 9-19, and there is an available iphone6 plus just sitting there, can I either get that phone as fulfillment of my pre-order. Or, cancel my pre-order and buy that phone right then and there?
