Siebel 8117 and BIP Multilingual reports not working.....
Hello,
We went live with Siebel 8113 and BIP. We have Siebel Reports configured in 4 languages and the choosing the language and locale on report generation pick applet worked fine with correct translated report coming out.
We have upgraded Siebel to 8117.
Reports stopped working. Applied 8117 related BIP objects(only repository objects and seed data - ACR 719B) then default language, ENU, reports worked fine. But other languages are still generating ENU reports.
Applied QF0703 in Tools (It has SIEBEL_BIP_8117 Extension SIF) and deployed the SRF.
Only two things from 8117 BIP related items we missed.
a) EIM Table related schema changes. This is of no use for us as we don't use EIM.
b) LMU files were not imported into tools. Each time I tried to import an LMU, it gives an error that site "http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/xliff/DTD" is an invalid site. On checking in browser found that it should be https and changed it in one language XLIFF. Once the transport changed to http, comes an error that the patch is invalid".
Not sure what is the importance of LMU OR how to get around it.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Parallel BIP Excel reports not working in IE 8
Hi Gurus,
I am facing some what a wired problem when I am trying to run the BIP 11g reports (Excel o/p).
I am using IE 8 and when I generating a Excel output, I can successfully open up the excel sheet, but the problem here is when I click on the Run button again with different dates(params) selected without closing the previous excel then I am unable to see the latest output in Excel. (we want to see the 2 excel sheets at a time, without clicking on back button and re-opening the Report.)
I tried the same in M.Firefox, there its working perfectly, I can open any number of parallel excel o/p's.
But we need this working in IE as per our business requirement.
Can you please help me with this??

Reports who work in BIP 10G does not work in BIP 11G

We are in the middle of going from BIP 10G to BIP 11G (latest patch installed the 9 of february). We have used the Upgrade Assistant to migrate the reports from 10G to 11G, about 80-90% are working directly.
But, as always are there some problems. There are 2 major problems I am struggling with for the moment. 1 is long running reports who gets "Connection reset by peer" before the report ends and the more problematic which is this:

Does anyone have the solution for this type of error, we have about 30-40 reports that is behaving like this in BIP 11G but works fine in BIP 10G.
Can we do anything general in the BIP 11G or does we need to find the solution for each report and change in the template?

Have everyone out there been able to use the upgrade assistant without any problem?
The UA.bat program says everything is ok but the report actually created in BIP 10G does not work in BIP 11G. We are looking for documentation or "findings" of what the problem can be, in a more general way. We are aware of that we probably have to fix this manually, but we dont know what to fix, and it is not so "fun" to be forced to re create all this templates and reports. The datamodell seems for the most of the time works, so we get a working xml source but the creation of the report thru the template dont work.

Our next step is to make a service policy exception on the firewall itself. We are also considering reloading the IPS device or at least the analysis engine.

HDMI inputs and PC inputs do not work consistently
my Apple TV (HDMI) and computers 2 on HDMI, 1 on PC, display just fine n the TV but after a while the TV goes blank,
the time is not consistent sometime a few minutes, sometimes a few hours,
but every time, after the TV goes blank there is nothing I can do, the TV just stays blank, if I unplug and turn back on the TV displays the image for a split second and goes bank again,
I thought it might be an overheating thing, however sometimes the PC input will stop working but the HDMI input (either one) will work fine,
has anyone else had this issue?

A.I'm having the same issue. As soon as I connect it to VGA or HDMI, it goes into a cycle of flashing on-and-off. A guy on youtube had the same problem (posted a video identical to my problem) and reportedly fixed it with a firmware update.
The problem: the US website doesn't have a firmware download. The canadian website does, but the update is from 4/2009, and the manufactured date on the back of my TV is 5/2009. (I also tried the update, but it didn't fix the problem).
When I call Toshiba to ask about the firmware update, after they confirm I am out of warranty, their automated system keeps hanging up on me. So frustrating. -

If your classpath includes all necessary JAR files and you are able to access all your resources from within your application JAR file, then I imagine there is a problem with the third-party crystal decisions JAR file or how you are attempting to use it.
My advice to you is to try and contact support with the vendor or provider of this API or possibly try posting on a support forum on their website to see if somebody can help you there. -

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:

Thanks for responding. Since I upgraded ITUNES to IOS 6, my IPOD Touch no longer works at all. I had numerous apps, music and videos on this touch. It made me restore to factory reset and it still does not work!!! Nothing I do will work on this touch now. I have so much data on this, I don't want to loose or have to restore!

My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work. I tried to restore it again and charged it in three different locations with different cables. etc but nothing. Suggestions?
- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. When you are done switch back to the main iTunes library. -
'm having a problem with downloading and installing the new version of itunes for windows (11.1.4) I have done everything the troubleshooting article has said and it is still not working properly. I have even done a repair to see if that works and it has not. Has anyone else found a new way to get it working?
