Siebel Analytics reporting out of BW

Hi,
Can Siebel Analytics report data directly out of BW InfoCubes?
So far I saw only discussions reading data from Siebel to BW.

Sajita,
you can follow two ways to obtain your Scenario:
in the first one you produce your report daily and download its content with a daily job (but I don't like so much this solution...it's not so flexible and I don't know if you really want to do so), in this way you will have a static picture of every day ...
in the second one you can separate your adjustments from the amount of your bill thanks to the document categories or something similar (adjustments are different operations from a functional perspective) and create a different (restricted) KF on your query or directly in the update rules ! in this way you will always see your daily picture and the original amount (thanks to the CALDAY) will be the same, but you'll be able to see also the adjustments in a separate KF and the overall result (real daily amount) with a sum....

Should your query be a valid SQL query?
I can't think that the query you have would be valid in a SQL plus window.

Share Analytics Reports with non-Siebel Users

Hello,
We are on version 7.8.2.4 of Siebel Analytics and are on a UNIX platform.
I am working on a project that is required to share reports with non-Siebel users. We are hoping to accomplish this through Analytics Delivers, but are open to suggestions or alternatives.
I have found that an iBot (under the Advanced tab) can be used in conjunction with custom Javascript or VB to FTP the report results in a pdf format to a specified location on the server. The Analytics Scheduler Bookshelf document explains how to do this starting on page 50.
However, there is a note within this document that says this functionality is only supported on Windows platforms. Unfortunately, our servers are on a UNIX platform. I have been told the possible reason for only supporting this functionality on a Windows platform is because there is not a service analogous to the ActiveX Scripting.FileSystemObject control which is called in the Javascript described in the document mentioned above.
This leads me to my question: Has anyone ever used this custom Javascript functionality with iBots on a UNIX platform or is there a similar approach that can be used instead? Has anyone found another way to share Analytics reports with non-Siebel users?

I don't have experience with ftp-ing a pdf to a specific location. But I do have 2 alternatives:
1. Use a public dashboard

2. Set up SA System subject area, to email the pdf to non-Siebel Analytics users.

In the external table you use for the SA System subject area, it is possible to add 'fake' users with their e-mail addresses.

Siebel Analytics: Restricting Items in Graph

I have a graph and a table report which I have created in Siebel Analytics and would like to display the same number of items in my graph as my table. I am able to restrict the number of records in the table but have not been able to do the same in the graph. In other words, if I restrict the records in the table to 10, then I would like the graph to display 10 items as well. If users want to see more records then they can select the next button. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I tried with out the is prompt but still it's not working. I have that for future use because we will be using the report for dash boarding where we might use the dashboard Prompt. but i get your point only one is needed either the dashboard prompt or graph prompt. My best bet at this point is may be just remove the graph prompt and try to drag it on the dashboard and use a dash prompt instead.

SharePoint Foundation Site Web Analytics reports

I am currently attempting to get the Site Web Analytics reports to work in SharePoint Foundation. However, there seems to be little available information regarding this. What is necessary for this to display a report? To start with, what
SharePoint & Windows services and SharePoint service applications need to be started? We use SQL Authentication for the content database because all the databases are in a different domain.
Any information someone can shed would be helpful.
Currently, when I navigate to the page it states "A web analytics report is not available for this site. Usage processing may be disabled on this server or the usage data for this site has not been processed yet." I have looked up this
information on the net, but nearly all information applies to SharePoint Server. I need help setting this up with SharePoint Foundation.

Ahhh, I had a feeling that was a problem.
I had similar issues after installing SP1 so I could have some of the new features, like the storage report back for sites, and deleted sites going into the recycle bin. However, I had read that I *had* to install the June 30 CU as well, which may have been
a mistake. Because after installing both and running a psconfigui, it made things as flaky as they were during the beta.
It took my good, stable, trustworthy and solid SPF install and made it unstable. Managed Accounts started acting weird, permissions were odd, BDC service crapped out, user code errors, the works. Bummed me out. I basically blew out the server, did a fresh
install and restored from a farm backup (actually a full then differential, gotta love scheduling backups). Mind you, I could afford to do that, and I simply don't mess around with bad updates.
(I also found a post that said that if you have SP1 installed, a common error is if you delete a list, then delete the site, you can restore the site from recycle bin, but the list that was deleted from that site earlier cannot be restored-- so to avoid/fix
that problem, install the August CU... it's always something...)
Do you have backups of your farm pre-updates, preferably both, but at least the CU? Maybe you can do a restore on a virtual machine to see if it fixes your issues?
Also, here's another question. After you installed SP1 and the August CU, did you do a psconfigUI.exe (or at the command line, psconfig.exe)? It might be good and bad that you didn't (if you didn't). The way to check to see if you didn't is check the database
statuses (review database status under Upgrade and Patch Management in Central Admin). The statuses will say that the databases can be/should be updated if you didn't run psconfig. That means that SharePoint has updated, but the databases in SQL haven't.
Maybe you can make a copy of those databases, and try to attach those databases to a pre-update (sp1 and CU) SharePoint Foundation server to see if web analytics work there again. Although, if I am understanding correctly, some changes can occur on databases
during updates, but they're not complete til psconfig is run. But hey, it's worth a shot.
Or you can use psconfigui.exe (or psconfig.exe if you want to use the command line) to update the databases and see if that fixes the problem.
I'm sorry again about your issues if they are update related. It is so frustrating to think you are trying to stay up to date on your server, being a good admin, and instead it breaks important things without apology or way to fix it (since cumulative updates

Google Analytics OPT-OUT Browser Add-on 0.9.6 doesn't retain OPT-OUT settings...never did really. Also JAVA now refuses to create updates for WinXP/FireFox.

I use PaleMoon now trying to get rid of advertising sharks. I have WINXP still - need assistive-technology computer for pain so taking time on getting new computer.
I have been severely sabotaged by advertising conglomerates selling my private information. They have no right -yet they do whatever they want. Anyhow...I've tried to OPT-OUT of EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. I've tried 5 places found. Google, NAI, DAA, & FIREFOX HELP said go to about:config was instructed to turn "from false to true" the "privacy.tracking.protection.enabled" .But I couldn't keep this setting because this also has to be set to false to use any saved log-on's to my accounts., and add-on AD BLOCK PLUS 2.6.7 when I was on Firefox & had some ticks and now it is disabled because it won't work with PaleMoon 25.2.1

These 1st 2 links used to have the same trouble and didn't retain ANYTHING and wouldn't re OPT-OUT ANY UNTIL THEY WERE SATIATED - saying I didn't have 3rd party cookies allowed when I did - this took hours.
I sent numerous trouble reports to them that they ignored - then I think I sent one to Firefox and it is much better but still not completely right. Today DAA retains 106 out of 122 and if I repeatedly RE-OPT-OUT successively I can get it to 121 out of 122 - never completely. (currently the one not taking is Accuen Inc. but it changes periodically - makes me think they set one up to take my info and then share it with all of them - lol )
Same for NAI currently I started with 94 out of 96 - next re-OPTED-OUT got it to 95 out of 96 and no further and same co. Accuen Inc (accuenmedia.com ) wouldn't update.
NOTE: I was copy/pasting the list of NON-OPT-OUT'S to them and my own document file to try and find trends/problems...now NAI programmers protected the list from being able to be COPIED AND PASTED!!! That's the opposite of being open and interested in making this work, right? Why would they want to allow us to OPT-OUT of their criminal espionage behavior...RIGHT? (lol) FYI: I recorded that the big one that was always retained before this one was...MEDIA MATH INC.
MANY Opt-outs would drop off while on-line and ALL would drop-off once logged-off. Now it's retaining most once logged off - but it hasn't been long enough to tell if they'll fall back into their bad habits as they've done before...
This has been going on forever for me - I've been reporting this malfunction since 2013.

Lastely, I also requested that the COOKIES NAMES BE UNIFORMLY IDENTIFIABLE. All the OPT-OUT COOKIES that are to be forevermore retained on my computer and that I am to trust the EVERY FUNCTION OF - well they all have different COOKIE NAMES!! Most of the names you can not tell that they are OPT-OUT COOKIES!! - SO NOWWW They have created another problem.
We can no longer just "DELETE ALL COOKIES".
PLUS, we can no longer go through our cookies and delete individual ones that snuck through.
Every one of the OPT-OUT COOKIES SHOULD SAY "OPT-OUT" IWITHIN THEIR NAME OF THEIR COOKIE - PERIOD. RIGHT? (LOL) For real. Why was this mess was allowed?
REALLY IN MY OPINION THESE COMPANIES SHOULD BE BLOCKED AT THE LOCAL PHONE COMPANIES LEVEL - IN OUR SERVERS. We should not have to deal with them. Same thing with viruses, malware and such beasts. But I digress.
In summary:
1.)Google Analytics OPT-OUT Browser Add-on 0.9.6 doesn't retain OPT-OUT settings
2.) JAVA refuses to create updates for WinXP/FireFox/PaleMoon.
3.) DAA & NAI still don't retain ALL OPT-OUT settings and never completely OPT-OUT all companies.
4.) OPT-OUT cookies should be uniformly names with the words OPT-OUT in their titles.
5.) Ad Block Plus 25.6.7 doesn't work for Pale Moon and there is no alternative - (didn't work great in FireFox)
Right now I'm mainly interested in #1)retaining my GOOGLE OPT-OUTS while on line AND while logged off since it is attacking my computer and steeling all the speed until it freezes my keyboard.
Currently I am trying to remember to run through 3. OPT-OUTS every time I log on.

SharePoint 2010 Web Analytics Reports Not Displaying Data

I'm currently having some issue with the Web Analytics Reports. It had been working fine for the past 1 year and suddenly a few months back, the Web Analytics is not showing any data. Have already troubleshoot the issue using the
Troubleshooting SharePoint 2010 Web Analytics Article and all values show the correct date and time.
Therefore, I have performed a more in-depth analysis and found out that the WAHierarchyData table in the Reporting Database only have Root ID
I have verified with a working SharePoint environment and the table should contain all the SharePoint site ID. Also, I have looked into all the SharePoint and Windows logs and all found to be showing the services to be running normally. I would like to check
if there is a way to restore the data in this table or is there any other ways I can trace and troubleshoot this issue.

I queried the WAHierarchyData table in my environment, and there should be id column in returning result.
You could manually run timer job related to Web Analytics service application and check ULS log for error message.
To narrow down the root cause, we need query SharePoint database tables and compare query result, which might exceed the supported scenario. I'd recommend you open a ticket with MS support, they could reach your envrionment and troubleshoot the issue for

Sharepoint 2010 Site Web Analytics and Site Collection Web Analytics reports

On our existing MS CMS 2002 site, we use Google Analytics to track file views, e.g., PDF, DOC, etc. This is very important for us as we need to know who is looking at the files we provide, how often, referrer, from what location, etc. Google Analytics
provides this information when we add the proper GA code to every file anchor e.g.,

Site Web Analytics Reports - accessdenied.aspx - which page/list/library?

When I go to the Site Web Analytics Reports of a site and check the "Top Pages" I see on the 1st position "/_layouts/accessdenied.aspx".
How can I know on which page/list/library they where when they had the access denied?
For example, I have 100 "views" on /_layouts/accessdenied.aspx, is it possible to see:
34 on the homepage
29 on list A
12 on list B
7 on library A
5 on page A
2 on list C

Try to find out function name fn_WA_GetTopPages then
add a condition to this function and filter out the /_layouts/accessdenied.aspx page.
As another alternative, you can write your
own access denied page and configure it from web.config. In that page you can write source url into your custom DB to create your own analytics.

Web Analytics Reports not working

Hello,
I recently found out that the last update date for the Web Analytics Reports is 12/18/2011 2:00:10 AM. I followed suggestions in other threads and verified that all the Web Analytics Services are running correctly.
I activated the verbose logs for the Web Analytics Service and we are getting this error starting from 2:00 AM
Usage Logging Importer: Skipped logging of PageView entry - doesn't pass page view filter
I haven´t found any info related to this message.
Any ideas about this?

1. restart the server or run IISRESET
2. check if there are more information from ULS log or event log.
3. recreate a state service application http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee704548.aspx and create a new web analytics service application.
4. make sure the service account has proper permissions to databases, file folders and relevant resources.

Unable to Display Signature Image in Siebel BI Report

Hi,
I have been trying to display a signature in a report but when I run the report the place where the signature should be is empty. I have searched through the log file but there is no error indicating anything is wrong. Siebel has an out of the box report which I have been using as a reference, their .rtf has the following in it:

The field in the xml that contains the string of characters for the image is named, "ssSignature" what I do not understand is that I see no reference to this field in the rtf. So I do not know how the signature image could be displayed if it is not in the .rtf. Since this report is shipped out of the box with Siebel I would expect it is correct and therefore should work. Can anyone provide any suggestions on what may be wrong or how to display a signature image???

Have you made any progress on this issue? We have the exact same issue and have an SR opened on Metalink. I must admit that the support has been lacking of late.
As I understand it the Signtaure string is encoded and at some point the OOTB rtf should be converting it to an image to be viewed in the report. I beleive that the function that should be doing this resides in either the InkToolsLib.jar or iSignBmp.jar so these must be part of your classpath environment variable.
Support says that the OOTB report works for them, but I have been trying a thousand different things to get this to work and our issue is still not resolved.
I'll keep you posted if by way of miracle a solution is found.

Queries in Siebel Analytics 7.8 (Cayman)

I am new to Siebel Analytics. I have few questions
1) I have dashboard where in 3 prompts Prompt1,Prompt2 and prompt3 , when i pass the values to these and press "Submit" and after that a web link.i am getting a report on new page.
here the requirement is how display these selected prompt values of Prompts1,2 & 3 on top of the report which is shown in new page. This is to acheive that the report is run for the above selected values.
2) I have two prompts for Country and State , as the no of states associated to each country is not constant. When i select India as value for prompt1, then in next page i should have so many tabs as many states India has...the tabs would be AP,TN,Delhi etc etc..these no of tabs would be dynamic depending on country name. Each tab should take the statename as parameter and generate the report.
3) How to make prompts mandatory? i.e If i have prompts1,2,3&4. Then if i say prompts 1and 4 are to be mandatory the report cannot be run unless the user enters some value in to this prompt. Again there is no default value for these mandatory promopts.
How would i make a dashboard prompt mandatory..( I am not using report/page prompts but dashboard prompts)

Kindly let me know your thoughts on following.
1. Am i missing any steps?
2. Is it possible that Portal 10.3 and OBIEE 11g is not compatible?
3. Admin Username and password that i specified in Report UI portlet's preferences, is it wrong user (or user from wrong group maybe)? Do i need to specify user who is from another group?
4. I changed "SAWServer" url and port in web.xml. Is that okay?
5. Is there any way, i can get more detailed information from OBIEE Server by enabling certain kind of debug?
Let me know if any input is needed from my side. Any input is highly appreciated.

Oracle BI (Siebel Analytics) / Data Warehouse Data Security

Hello,
We are implementing Oracle Siebel Analytics and Custom datawarehousing using Oracle 9i DB. I am interested to know if we can implement consistent data security model for different data marts. Means with one single data warehouse, I want to implement data security model or policies in one place and they are applied consistently across all of the datamarts.
1. Can we or oracle support this kind of secinerio.
2. If yes, what would be perfect model an example will be helpful, and if not what best approach is available to resolve this security model.
Any suggestion or help would be great.

Hi, Do you also get some other packages names that the error msg reports like ...
RPE-01012 Cannot deploy PL/SQL maps to the target schema because it is not owned by the Control Center and "SOME WRT.... package names" I think once did I face this and made sure that the repository user has some packages granted through OWBREPOS_OWNER/OWB_REPOS_OWNER to the user you are using to run the mapping.
