Siebel Application Interface

Hi,
I need a Siebel Application Interface in a poc (but without installing the actual Rapid Mart) as a starter/teaser for a Siebel Rapid Mart later on. The problem is that I am not able to find neither the Siebel Rapid Mart or the Application Interface at the SAP portal - BusinessObjects packages and products - Bobj Rapid Marts. Suprising that the Siebel Rapid Mart is not there, but what about the Application Interface ? Is it only included together with the Mart, or do I need a special key to activate it in Bodi or is it the one named 'BOBJ XI 3.1 INTEGRATION FOR SIEBEL SOFTWARE WINDOWS' although that sounds like a BOE specific software.

Unforunately SaveSession only saves the attributes and their values. The text of an attribute cannot be saved.
If you really need the attribute text, you would probably have to use some custom code to do the following:
1. Create a text attribute (a2) that will hold the text of the attribute you want the text for (a1):
2. Create a event handler that sets the value of the text attribute (a2) to the text of the attribute (a1).
3. When save is called the text attribute (a2) will be saved to the session.
Its no a very elegant solution, but its the only way I can think of to do it.

Currently we have a Siebel application which is running with various Siebel modules. Like for example in one single application object manager we are having various screens and views related to various modules like UCM, Loyalty, Marketing etc.
But due to some operational reasons, we would like to deploy few modules as applications on different machines.For example we will install a separate Marketing application on a server and loyalty on a separate server.
How can we integrate all these applications installed in different different machines in a single App Object Manager to provide a single UI interface for the user.
So even after segregating into different applications, we would like to have single app UI for user.
Please suggest if it already being implemented in such a way anywhere.

Cannot open nib - The application Interface Builder quit unexpectedly

Just installed the iPhone SDK and installed sample code. The Interface Builder will not start. At startup, the following message is displayed: "The application Interface Builder quit unexpectedly."
I've tried the standard Xcode SDK and it has the same problem. I've repaired permissions on the disk, to no avail. I'm stumped on this. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for asking. It happens when I click the "Interface builder.app" name in finder and when I double-click an .xib file name in finder.
As I mentioned, I have repaired permissions on the drive to no avail. I have also read older posts on the web referring to various preference plist files but those don't exist with this build of xcode.
I have also had older builds of xcode on this mbp and worked thru a couple of tutorials. Interface Builder from those older builds worked. I'm not sure were to get them, now, and I doubt they would have the iphone sdk included.

BI Publisher cannot be generated in Siebel Application

Hi Experts,
I have an issue in BIP. When I try to generate the report in SIebel Application. The report cant generate and this is the prompt message appears:
"Failure mechanism of BI Publisher to generate the report. (SBL-RPT-50524)".
But when I get the XML generated by that specific report which I ran and then try to generate it locally using BIP Desktop, the report is generated.

Sometimes 255 characters is not enough and with the Notes you can add more text.
And from a performance perspective it is better to make the Notes a seperate Tab, so it only gets retrieved when explicitly needed.

Error while accessing siebel application

Hi,
I installed Siebel 8.1 on Windows 2003. But when i try to access the application via http://localhost/service_enu I am getting the error:
The server you are trying to access is either busy or experiencing difficulties. Please close the Web browser, open a new browser window, and try logging in again.
The steps i am following are :
1. Installed Siebel Enterprise Server including Siebel Gateway, Siebel Server and Database Configuration Utilities.
2. Configured Siebel Gateway Name Server.
3. Create Siebel Enterprise.
4. Create SWSE logical profile.
5. Run Database Configuration utilities to install Siebel Database.
6. Run Siebel Server configuration.
7. Installed and configured SWSE.
All the above steps executed successfully. But when after these steps i try to access the Siebel application through http://localhost/service_enu, the above mentioned error is displayed.

Sometimes 255 characters is not enough and with the Notes you can add more text.
And from a performance perspective it is better to make the Notes a seperate Tab, so it only gets retrieved when explicitly needed.

Java Application interface with MS Excel through DDE

We have a financial application written in JAVA and have requests from users that want to interface with the application. Meaning, They would like the Java application interface with Excel. For example, if you had a C++ application, you could create a DDE link in Excel that points to the C++ application and receive the data.
How could I do this with a Java Applictaion ? I was told that there was an application written that lets Java interface with Excel.
Any ideas or does anyone know ?

Problem in hosting Siebel application after configuration

Hi All
I was able to configure Siebel gateway, database , server and web server extension successfully.
But after the web server extension configuration the PUBLIC folder in SWEApp is not having any files in it.
The IIS default website in not having the siebel application in it. What can be the problem ? Is it the configuration problem or the IIS probelm?

I am guessing that you cannot use the Web Thin Client, so you can use srvrmgr command line utility to check for SRBroker component (or you can configure the dedicated client)

<li>You should see a prompt confirming that you are connected to your server

(in this example only 1 server in the enterprise)

Siebel Application 7.8 monitoring through Sitescope.

I need to monitor Siebel Application 7.8 through HP tool. As per the doc its mentioned "The Siebel Server Manager client must be installed only on the machine where tool is running". But as per my vendor,siebel 7.8 doesn't have the server manager client . only siebel 8.0 and above has this exe.
But as per the tool support ,the same is available with this version.
Please confirm on the below requests
1) Does Siebel 7.8 actually support Siebel Server Manager utility (srvrmgr.exe)?
2) If so, what is the path to retrieve the sam.
Please help me in resolving the same..

Hi Jaison, you should be able to use srvrmgr in 7.8 even though you will find a number of issues with it...

Lenovo Application Interface returned an unexpected return code: 2

I am trying to install Lenovo Application Interface 1.0.0.8 (http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkcentre_drivers/c1acp21us17.exe) according to install instructions (http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkcentre_drivers/c1acp21us17.txt)
but getting the above error in ZTIApplications.log.
We use USB Media to deploy images, so wondering why I get this error? Could the USB drive be not available at this point of the deployment and therefore errors out complaining the files dont exist?
I am choosing the first option when adding the application so all source files are included on USB - I can even manually install at the end of deployment directly from attached USB using the file.exe /VERYSILENT command.

How to integrate Events from Siebel application to Oracle Webcenter portal

We have a requirement where one application resides in Siebel and the poral is running on Oracle Webcenter Portal. Here we want to see the events/appointment which are created in Siebel Application, should be visible in Oracle Webcenter Portal's calendar as soon as user logs in. It is a Hospital portal, and appointments are created in Siebel Application and when Doctor logs in to portal (running on Oracle webcenter portal), user should be able to see them on his Calendar/event.
Please help me how to go ahead with it.

Not sure that I agree with my friend Yannick on this. I think that you can change to point to a different DBMS. You might be able to do this by reconfiguring the Siebel server and give SQL Server as your DBMS and then give the correct SQL connect into. At worst case I think you can change the server data source named subsystem. You will need to change the DLL name and well as the connect info. If the reconfiguration does not work your best bet would be to compare the settings from your server data source for Oracle to a known good server data source for SQL Server.
BTW, why would you make this change? As a database Oracle can’t be beat. 11g is incredible.
