Siebel database Configuration wizard unable to identify index tablespace
Hi,
I'm installing Siebel CRM 8.1.1 on AIX platform. We have RAC enabled database at backend and in that two tablespace has been created, one for data and another one for index. Now in the database configuration wizrd where we have to provide the name of both tablespaces; we provide the name of data tablespae in the Table Tablespace filed and index tablespace in the index tablespace filed of the configuration wizard. Now when we click on the next button. The configuration wizrd gives error of unable to identify index tablespace.
Why is this happening as index tablespace is properly created in the database. Please help me in this. You quick respance will be highly appriciated.
Regards,
Abbasi
I thought it might be. grantuser.sql generally needs to be modified to suit the underlying database configuration. Glad you got it working.

Siebel Database Configuration Wizard closes automatically
hi all,
Siebel Database Configuration Wizard closes automatically at step when asked if the GRANTUSR.SQL script was alredy run. Before running the Wizard I already installed the Siebel Enterprise, Siebel Gateway, Siebel Server, SWSE Logical Profile and configurated them. The Siebel Database is available, tablespaces were created and I run the grantusr.sql and everything was OK.
I chose the option 'already run the grantusr.sql'. By doing this the Wizard closes automatically. No idea what's going on here.
Can anybody please help me? I've been sitting for hours trying to find out what happens.hi WSiebel,
thanks for the explanation. I checked the logfile under \siebsrvr\log:

I don't think, that that is the cause of my problem. Even when I started the Siebel gateway, the database configuration wizard doesn't work appropriately.
Sievel server and Oracle Database are in the same machine (a Windows XP Professional, 32-bit-virtual machine). I haven't installed the Oracle 10g Enterprise edition. Should I install the Oracle client as well?.
In my case the ODBC connection, the DSN Name is Enterprise Name_DSN: Siebel_test_DSN and points to the Driver: Oracle in OraDb10g_home3. The connection works for siebel/siebel, sadmin/sadmin, but not for sys/mypassword (sorry I am not a Database crack).
I also tested the connection with the odbcsql as in your email indicated. The connection works when trying with siebel/siebel and sadmin/sadmin (user/password). -

Siebel Database Upgrade Wizard fails for production upgrade
Hi,
We are doing a dry-run for production upgrade for our customer form Siebel 7.8.2 to 8.1. 1.4
Platform info:

Database: IBM DB2 V9.7
When running the Upgrade Database (upgrep + upgphys) wizard, the process fails to execute with errors.
Below is the error details:
1.Run the upgrade wizard:

We have raised an SR with Oracle Support and have done the changes suggested and verified the process as per the Bookshelf Installation Guide.
The installations have been verified and the required siebel procedures and functiuons are in place. The upgrade process is still failing.
Has anyone come across this issue. Could you please assist us in identifying the cause of failure. This is pushing back our go-live date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.Hi,I haven't faced the problem ,but just want to check whether right and supported version of db2 client is installed on the server box.

Siebel Gateway Name Server Configuration Wizard returns "Execution failed"
Hi,
I am installing Siebel 8.1.1.1 on Linux platform and now having problem while trying to configure Siebel Gateway Name Server.
Steps done:
1) DB instance prepared
2) Created Siebel installation image
3) Installed Siebel server and configured Gateway name server (the wizard started automatically as part of the installation). Skip configuration of Enterprise and SWSE Logical profile
4) Ran DB Configuration Wizard for the primary language - successfully. Import repository-add language - successfully.
5) Trying to Wizard "Configure Enterprise" - failed with "Execution failed"
Here I thought that probably Gateway Nameserver was not configured and decided to remove the Gateway and create it from scratch.
Unfortunately this time the Gateway configuration failed. Also with message"Execution failed"
Here are the errors I got in the log files sw_cfg_util*.log

Searching in Metalink and Google were fruitless..
Thank you in advance.Just in case anybody bumps in this thread:
The problem in my case was solved according with Oracle Note "Delete and create the "Siebel Server" via Configuration Wizard on Linux, it failed. [ID 880562.1]"

Database Configuration: Table space does not exist error
Hi all,
while running Database configuration wizard in Siebel 8.0 installation process I receive the following error:
C103: The table\\index space siebelts entered does not exist in your database. Please ensure you entered the correct table\\
index space.
I have verified the following things:
1) Verified in database that, SIEBELTS tablespace is created but not online.
2) grantusr.sql is executed successfully.SADMIN user and SIEBEL table owner accounts are created.
3) SIEBELTS tablespace is assigned as default tablespace for SADMIN and LDAPUSER. There were no problems running the grantusr.sql.
How can it be that the Wizard shows up this error when the grantusr.sql didn't show it?. The problem is the SIEBELTS. The wizard doesn't find it, but it does find the SIEBELINDEXTS tablespace. Checking the last one, it appears online.this is what I checked as DBA:

Peoplesoft Database Configuration Error
I am trying to install PeopleSoft 8.52 and have gone through the process of installing the Peoplesoft, JRockit JDK, Weblogic and Tuxedo. I am now at the point of tryin to configure the Peoplesoft and now running the PeopleSoft Database Configuration and getting the error message "Database Configuration Wizard does not support the creation of Oracle database on your OS". I first got the error message installing on Windows Vista so decided to install on Windows XP and got the same error message at the same point. Please can someone help me and tell me what I am doing wrong and what I need to do to get past this point and complete the installation. Thank you.
Hi,
You should not forget that you are installing an ERP system, not a desktop application, this requires servers
PeopleTools 8.52 is certified to run on
Microsoft Windows (32-bit) Vista
Microsoft Windows (32-bit) 7
Microsoft Windows (32-bit) 2008
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) Vista
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) 7
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) 2008 R2
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) 2008
Where the last two are usually used to install PIA, Appserver, DB Server and Process Scheduler, which require 64 bits server
The others are usually used to setup workstations for Application Designer, Datamover and SQL Developer access.
So, XP is for sure not certified.

Hakan -

P6 EPPM configuration wizard won't connect to database server
I have installed P6 8.3 and Weblogic on one server (application server). On another server SQL is installed. When i run the P6 EPPM Configuration Wizard i get as far as the step 'Database Type & Connection' where i can fill in the details of the server and database to connect to. But then when i press 'next' nothing happens. I don't get any error, but the wizard is not going to the next step. I've tried it with all the options 'Create a new database', 'Upgrade an existing database' or simply 'Connect to an existing database'.
I've read in the documentation that to run the P6 Eppm wizard you need to be on an oracle or sql server, but how can i do that when the necessary files are on another server? As far as i was told it's possible to use two separate servers?
I hope someone can help.Hi,
JRE 1.8.0_40 is not supported. Please check the tested configurations document for your version, client and browser sheet, uninstall JRE 8 U 40, install a supported version, update the JAVA_HOME, run P6 and try again.
Let me know the results.
Regards,
Pablo

Problem to specify database access acount in sharepoint configuration wizard
I installed sharepoint 2013 and run configuration wizard. In the page "Specify Confguration Database Settings" and in the section "specify database access acount" I enter my domain admin account user (in DOMAIN\user_name format)
and pass and I'm sure that I enter it correct. but it say "the password specified for the username account is invalid" !!
What's the problem?
ThanksNormally that means that the password specified for the account is invalid.
Double check the account has been created in AD, that it's unlocked and that the password hasn't been configured to require changing on first use. Ideally grant the account permission to log onto a box somewhere and test it. -
Unable to launch the Database Configuration Assistant
I have installed Oracle 10g Database Release 1 and I cant launch the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA). The file c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\bin\launch.exe does not exist on my computer.
My intent is to design a simple database in Oracle for an organization that uses Oracle extensively. I am running WinXP professional on my home computer. WinXP includes Microsoft IIS and I regularly test web-packaged files on this intranet server using the domain localhost. I downloaded Oracle 10g and installed it to the c:\ drive following the instructions in Chapter 2 of the tutorial Oracle 2-day DBA Course. I selected basic installation and standard edition.
I note that in the tutorial, the Oracle Home path has forward slants. The summary page of the Oracle installation wizard shows my installation with back slants. Do I need to install Oracle 10g to one of the directories in Microsoft IIS?
NicholasInstall the Oracle database with the procedure in
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/2day_dba/install/install.htm
When you select the Install button, the Oracle universal installer displays the installation of the Database Configuration Assistant.
Uninstall the previous installation. To uninstall database 10g
1. Stop the oracle services Adminstrative Tools>Services.
2. Uninstall the installed products in Oracle Universal Installer.
3. In the Run field specify
Regedt32
In the Registry Editor select
SYSTEM>Current Control Set>Services
Remove the oracle services.
4. Restart and dlete the directories in the oracle installation directory. -
Odbc failure for Siebel database server configuration
Hi all,
I am installing siebel 7.8.2 in my system. I am using oracle 10g...
I have installed siebel gateway name server .
After siebel server installation and configuration,
I was checking for ODBC connectivity as given in manual but i am getting the following error:
Cannot validate username/password combination.
HY000: [DATA direct] [ODBC Oracle Driver][Oracle] Ora-12538: TNS: no such protocol adapter
further details are:
I have installed Oracle 10g application server(both oracleasinfra and oracleasmidtier)... my oracle_home is oracleasinfra... and my running listener is also infrastructure listener... and my siebel database where i have run grantusr.sql script is also database which is in oracleasinfra...
Please help me out?Hi Manuel Dias,
I believe those information would be easily found out through SQL Server 2005 references or guides. There may not have any special needs for B1 database.
Thanks,

OIM 11g Server Configuration Wizard Error - Cannot Connect to Oracle DB
I appreciate any and all suggestions or thoughts on how to best continue troubleshooting this error that I am describing below.
I am attempting to install Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite 11g on a Windows 7 machine…in following the installation guides I have successfully installed the following Oracle Components
- Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
- Created Schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3
- Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3.0
- Oracle SOA 11.1.1.2.0
- Oracle SOA 11.1.1.3.0 (Patch Set)
- Oracle IAM SUITE 11.1.1.3.0
Following the above installations, I created a new WebLogic Domain and as the next step am running the OIM Configuration Wizard to configure the OIM Server, however I am unable to setup a connection to the Oracle DB via the OIM Configuration Wizard. I am getting an error message when attempting to setup the connection to the Oracle Database using the OIM 11g Server Configuration Wizard:
ERROR:*
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
*+[DETAILS] Check the values. Make sure the Database is up and running and connect string, user name, and password are correct.+*
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
*+[DETAILS] Check the values. Make sure the Database is up and running and connect string, user name, and password are correct.+*
When installing the Oracle Database 11gR2 I used the following install configuration:
Oracle base: C:\MyApps\Oracle
Software location: C:\MyApps\Oracle\DB_HOME\11.2.0\dbhome_1
Database file location: C:\MyApps\Oracle\DB_HOME\oradata
Database Edition: Personal Edition (3.27 GB)
Character Set: Unicode (AL32UTF8)
Global database name: orcl.dev.com
Administrative Password: Password1
Confirm Password: Password1
When creating my Schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3 I used the following Database Connection Details
DB TYPE: Oracle Database
HOST NAME: localhost
PORT: 1521
SERVICE NAME: orcl.dev.com
USERNAME: sys
PASSWORD: Password1
ROLE: SYSDBA
I used a Prefix of “DEV” when creating the schemas so Schema Owners DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS where created. Also, I configured to use the same password for all Schemas: “Password1″. So the password for DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS should be the same, “Password1″.
REPRODUCING THE ERROR
To reproduce the error, when I launch the Oracle Identity Management 11g Configuration Wizard I am first brought to the “Welcome” Screen. I click the [Next>] button.
Next, I am on the “Components to Configure” screen where I select OIM Server and OIM Design Console and click the [Next>] button. (NOTE I have also tested by simply selecting only the OIM Server)
Next, I am on the “Database” screen where I enter the connection information
Connection String: localhost:1521:orcl.dev.com
(NOTE I have also tested using localhost:1521:orcl)
OIM Schema User Name: DEV_OIM
OIM Schema Password: Password1
MDS Schema User Name: DEV_MDS
MDS Schema Password: Password1
When I click the [Next>] button after entering the Database Connection details I encounter the following two errors (1 error for each logon DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS)
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE: I can successfully start the Oracle DB Services and connect via the Enterprise Console, SQL Plus, and JDBCTest Java Client…I just cannot get past this connection error in the OIM Server Configuration Wizard.

The command completed successfullyWhenever installing oracle databases, i install the software only first. Then i setup the listener. Then i create a database instance using the dbca tool. This way all the information is added to the pre-existing listener configurations rather than trying to create the listener afterwards. Also, during the dbca database creation, i supply a full service name such as orcl.hostname and use the service name in future configurations where it asked. This usually solves any issues of the listener or database not being found correctly.
