What do i need to download more in order to configure with my Oracle AS adapter... or should i start installing?
ALSO, I SAW ABOUT EAI CONNECTOR... WHAT IS EAI CONNCETOR ? DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD THAT? IF YES? FROM WHERE? WHAT THE USE OF IT? I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO METALINK SITE...

Thanx in advance.

  • Siebel EAI Value Maps

    HI,
I need to understand how we use the EAI value Maps for mapping values for external System. I am using Siebel 8.0 and need to map values for 2 fields before sending the SOAP message using Outbound Web Service. I can send it and receive the response but the values currently are same in both the systems. Hence I need to understand how I can use Data Maps/EAI values maps for solving the mapping problem.

EAI value maps are conceptually similar to LOVs, except that they are purpose built for use in mapping values between systems. I would suggest going through the Siebel bookshelf in order to gain an in-depth understanding. Here's a link to get you started:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B40099_02/books/EAI4/EAI4_DataMapUSScripts28.html#wp134444
Once you have read the basics, you will come to realize that depending on how you've configured your application you can use the mentioned functions in both WFPs and scripts by directly calling them or using Data Maps.
To specifically answer your question, here's the process:
    a) Define the mappings (Eg. IN for external system = +91 for Siebel)
    b) Define direction - Incoming/ Outgoing (optional but useful)
    c) Create the mappings within Siebel EAI Value Maps Screen making sure you have, like in LOVs, a specific type defined for the mapping (E.g. Back Office Phone Numbers)
    d) Use one of the available Value Map functions (See link above for the description of each of them) either in data maps or scripts to obtain the mapping value keying off the type field defined above
    e) The rest is pretty much the routine stuff (convert to XML and post/ call adapter or whatever)
Hope this makes sense and helps..

  • Siebel Resource Adapter newbie question

The platform support document for the managed version of Siebel Resource Adapter in Siebel version 7.8 states only support for WebSphere Application Server 5.1 with JDK 1.4. Would the same resource adapter also work fine if migrated to WebSphere Application Server 6.1 with JDK 1.5 or would one need to use the adapter for Siebel version 8.0? What about support for 64 bit RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.0? Is this configuration supported? It would be great if somebody could throw some light on this.

Have a look at Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11886_01/srsphomepage.html
If it it is not listed for 7.8 it is not supported. Meaning if you get an error Oracle/Siebel will ask you to reproduce the problem on a supported platform. e.g. you are on your own if you install on a not supported platform. I doesn't mean it will not work.

    Hi,
I would recommend you to upgrade to SOA version 10.1.3.3. Then download Oracle Application Adapters 10.1.3.3 pack and configure it for siebel 7.8.
SOA Documentation provides step by step configuration for the same. Let me know if you need any more details on this.

  • Oracle Siebel 8 adapter on Oracle WebLogic 10g

    Hi everybody,
I need to install the new Oracle Service Bus 10g and to integrate with Siebel 8. So what I need is off course the bus and the adapter. I've a list of questions that raised during my initial research:
1- Is it possible to install Oracle AS adapters on Oracle WebLogic 10g? I've tried to download the adapter and the only option was "adapters 101202" which require Oracle Home directory which is not available with Oracle WebLogic Installation.
2- Is there a new version of Bea WebLogic adapters? The current documentation within edocs site support Siebel 7.7 and it is only available for WebLogic 9.1
3- Where can I find installation guide for Oracle AS adapters?
4- When navigating through http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/index.html the "Download Oracle Integration Adapters" directed me to download Oracle WebLogic 10g r3 server. I went with the download and installed WebLogic 10g, but there were no adapters included. Is it only a mistaken link or it might contain the adapters for WebLogic 10g somewhere?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Brian,
Generally the behavior you mentioned occurs when SRProc and SRBroker is unable to connect to Database.
    Please Check Following.
    1. Is Siebel Gateway Running Successfully? Please verify that Siebel Gateway listening on Standard port 2320. You can verify this by following command.
    netstat -na | grep 2320
    or
    ps -aef | grep siebns
    2. Change directory to <SIEBEL_ROOT>/siebsrvr/enterprises/<ENT_NAME>/<APP_SRVR>/log directory.
    3. Do you see any logs here? If yes, please let me know the errror message in logs.
Hope this helps. All the best.

    Hi,
We are connecting to Siebel using IWAY siebel Adapter. The deployment of IWAY siebel adapter is successful.
We have configured receiver communication channel in PI to send request to siebel. The message fails in Adapter framewrok and the following message is displayed in Message Display too -> audit log.

  • Different versions of Siebel

Please let me know whether we can use JCA or any other api to connect to different versions of Siebel namely 7.5 and 7.8 without invoking any jars provided with Siebel. If incase anybody has faced this problem.
    thanks in advance.

Yes. You can use http to post a Siebel XML-formatted
message to Siebel. You specify one of the following actions to be performed on the XML message:
    Delete
    Upsert (Insert/Update)
    Query
The result is that a corresponding Workflow is executed to process the message. A Siebel Workflow is a customized business application for managing and enforcing business processes.
Use http to POST the message to the Web server. The Siebel WebServer Extension invokes the specified Business Service which, in turn, starts an internal Workflow.
The Workflow invokes the Siebel EAI XML Converter, which converts the information from XML into the Siebel internal format and presents it to the Siebel EAI Adapter. The information is then sent to the Siebel Server via the Siebel Object Manager. If any data is to be returned, the Siebel EAI Adapter can pass the result to the EAI XML Converter and send the data back to the http client as a Siebel XML message.
You may want to consider using the httpsoap Binding Component. You can go to http://java.sun.com/javaee/index.jsp and click on the free downloads tab and download the Netbeans 5.5 Enterprise Pack Early Access to start playing with this.
    Good Luck.

  • Integration Object - Setting parent/child (Foreign Key) relationship

    Hi all -
I have what I think is a very basic question but I cannot seem to get it right. I am using Siebel EAI Adapter with two IO where the source is a template and the second is the instances of the template. The structure is parent/children for both. I am also using a data map to transform the data. My assumtion is that I can insert a template record and all of its children with one message/insert command. My question is how do I set the FK value on the children to the parent id? The parent id is not known at the time of data mapping because the record has not yet been created.
I would think that the link between the two objects would handle this but I cannot get it to work. Any help is appreciated!
Siebel 8.1 using Siebel EAI Adapter in WF with data map.
    Kind Regards,
    Chad

One Siebel Adapter Upsert operation should be sufficient to insert the parent and child. In the Integration object definition, you define the Template child instances with the Parent of Template. i.e
You define Template first as an Integration Component and then define
Template child instances to have a Parent as Template.
    Thanks
    Swarna

  • Siebel 8.0 MQ Adapter for EAI Integration Workflows through WebSphere MQ

    Hello,
IHAC that has Siebel 8.0 set up in a Siebel Server Cluster. They want to develop EAI Integration workflows interacting with a WebSpere MQ. I have seen in the Bookshelf: Transports and Interfaces: Siebel Enterprise Application Integration a note that states "The EAI MQSeries Server Transport can connect only to IBM MQSeries Server software. The
IBM MQSeries server must be running on the same system with your Siebel Server". The client has their Websphere MQ Integration broker in another machine; will they need to install a MQ Client on each of the Siebel Servers within the cluster? I haven't found information about best practices or configuring for such scenario, or even if its the best option for them to go with. Any suggestions or references will be deeply appreciated.
    Regards, Wilver

For the benefit of other readers on the matter let me reference the Siebel Bookshelf supplemented reference in the section "About the Siebel EAI MQSeries Transport" there is the following note:
"NOTE: The EAI MQSeries Server Transport Can only connect to IBM MQSeries Server software. The IBM MQSeries Server must be running on the same system as your Siebel Server. Before using the EAI MQSeries Server Transport, You Need to install and configure the IBM MQSeries software. Contact your IBM sales representative for details. "
Info Architecture: "SR 3-1826475241 Siebel EAI MQ Transport Adapter Configuration for WebSphere Remote Queues" It is specified that in order to use the EAI Siebel adapter transport, it requires an IBM WebSphere MQ Server is installed on the same machine. This then is responsible for routing messages to the Q to be defined by GBM.
The current version at BPD (8.0.0.3 SIA 20 416) only supports Static Qs, which requires additional effort in the definition and implementation of routing in the local MQ Server to Siebel. The fix is supported 8.0.0.9 Dynamic Qs, supporting and ReplyToQMgr ReplyToQ methods, which requires MQ Server routing configuration to connect with the remote MQ Server and get the response Q through it.

  • Siebel Adapter EAI method

    Hi Experts,
How can the following be done by using only Business service and siebel adapter EAI method?
1.Instead of deleting a user,i just want to inactivate user record, how can that be achieved, which method should be used?
2.I want to delete a position for a User, which webservice method should be used?
please reply,if anyone has any idea about the procedure.
    Many Thanks in advance.

    Hi user5742567 ,
I would like to ask if youre using business service and EAI adapter only, what method/way you going to invoke this business service/EAI adapter?
    1. To inactive a user you can set the USR_FLG= N in the S_USER table.
    2. I believe Siebel Adapter business service have a few method such as delete. You can use the delete operation to remove a particular user position from the S_POSTN_CON inter table.
    a. Get the user row_Id
    b.Query in the S_POSTN_CON where UserRowId =CON_ID
    c. Delete the records from the S_POSTN_CON inter table base on the position(POSTN_ID) you want to remove.
FYI:there a vanilla business service called EAI Siebel Adapter which can be use for your caused.
    Thank You

    Hi,
Could you please tell me what are the advantages of using iWay adapter to integrate with Siebel?
Is it possible to use file or HTTP adapter to send data to Siebel? If yes, then why do we need iway adapter?

  • Siebel files required to be downloaded..

    Hi,
I want to configure my Oracle AS adapters(10.1.2.0.2) with siebel..
I want to edelivery.oracle.com website, i found siebel business applications media pack 7.8.2
i went to that... tell me what all do i need to download from there... there are 6 parts for siebel business applications... also do i need to download english language extension pack also(also 4 parts)?
What else do i need to download?
    Please help me out....
    Thanx in advance....
    I am using windows XP

    Hi,
I think you need the EAI Adapter for Siebel. But its difficult to locate which part files you have the necessary image files for the same.
So you need to download all the parts for Base Image Files & also any language extension image files you need in order to create the Installation Files out of the downloaded image files.

  • Integrating with Siebel

    Hi,
I would like to know how BPEL can be integrated with Siebel. I Read how it could be done in Peoplesoft but can anyone provide any inputs on how it could be done in Siebel. Any kind of documentation in this would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
The best way is probably using our Siebel Adapter which is actually the iWay adapter, You can find a tutorial in the adapters section in OTN. Search for it in Oracle or Google.
You can also use Siebel EAI interfaces and sends the Siebel Business Object XML representation. They can call a BPEL process from their workflow, because their workflow can call web services (but only rpc web services). You can call Sieble in several ways I think. I've used their HTTP interface which is not very pretty but it works....

  • Installation of OPA 10.4.3 and Siebel 8.2.2.2 webservice authentication issue

We are working with OPA 10.4.3 and Siebel 8.2.2.2.  We have installed Siebel, and OPA.  We followed the procedures to put in all the integration parameters.  However, when we try and run the WD Smoke Test button, the popup shows a Error 500.  upon further examination, we have found that despite using Siebel eai anon services, we are receiving an authentication error suggesting that the Username and password need to be passed in the header of the soap message to Siebel.
Can someone please point me to the specific documentation of how to fix this and get it working?
    Thank you.
    Sam

    Sam,
You do need to pass user name and password details when connecting, even with the Siebel eai anon services.
You need to modify the file named "siebel-data-adapter.properties in the WEB-INF/classes/configuration directory of the web application.
You can find details of this in the "Modify the siebel-data-adapter.properties" section of the Oracle Policy Automation Connector for Siebel Installation Guide
