Siebel On Demand Intergration WiTh external device like CARD READER

Hi All,
Is there a possibility of SOD to interface with an external system like a card reader?
Thanks
Natraj

Well interesting requirement but unfortunately Oracle SOD doesnot provide you any direct integration technique or tool for this, instead a custom WebService development would be required to make this happen.
Hope this Helps :)

  • Audio to midi error - check conflict with external device - apogee rosetta

    hey there
i have a problem and any help is much appreciated..
basically i am running a quad xeon dual 2.66 machine under 10.4.10 and using logic 7.2. 1 gig ram.
i am using a apogee rosetta 800 with the option x firewire card for my audio interface.
whenever i set a track up to record and 'play' logic i get a message saying,
'unable to sync audio to midi check conflict with external device' and then it says something like sample rate 43021 recognised.. something close to 44100 but not quite..
so i think my problem is a clocking/sync one maybe? i have tried everything i could think of, including fixes suggested on the forums here, but nothing so far seems to help e.g making sure autosync in on the transport is unchecked, checking audio MIDI setup.
worryingly with the few problems similar to this on the forums there doesn't seem to be a way to fix it!!
anybody who could help would be a lifesaver.. this is destroying my workflow!! emailed apogee and im waiting for a reply.
    thank you very much

    Hi,
Ok, then there can be a few more possibilities,
Try this: unplug your Rosetta, and any other FireWire devices you might have. Basicallly you want to start Logic with the internal audio.
If this works ok, then it is not an issue with the Mac's hardware, and is an issue with a FW device.
Then, quit Logic, and plug in the Rosetta by itself. Boot Logic, and select it as the audio interface. Try playing stuff back. does it work? If yes, then the issue is with another FW device. If there is a issue, then there might be a corrupt driver, a bad FW cable, etc. Keep trying one by one to go through re-installing the drivers, and also try changing the FW cable. If this still does not solve it, there might be an issue with the Mac OS 10.4.10. You might need to install Pro App support 4.0. Also, there was a fix available from Apple not so long ago specifically for FW audio devices. Please do a search in Apple's suport site for "FireWire audio device" and see if you find the patch.
If the Rosetta works when it is the only FW device hooked up to the Mac, then you have a conflict with another device, like a FW hard drive, etc... check each one until you find the culprit.
    Cheers

  • Restored iMac from an MBP Backup giving problems with external devices

Recently, I restored from an MBP Leopard OS Time machine Backup into a new iMac 27".
Restoring process ran smoothly and took like an hour to recover my files and applications from the external disk time machine backup and after that the new iMac had everything my old MBP used to have but the OS. So far so good.
But now I'm having problems connecting external devices, like the very same external disk to set my time machine backup or a Cannon Printer.
The iMac can recognize and attach the external HDD (iOmega 1TB), I've succesfully formated it several times, but as soon as the backup process starts it will idle after backing 200MB or so and the HDD will be abruptly disconnected.
Regarding the MP610 Cannon printer/scanner I used it smoothly once from this iMac, but after that it's been impossible to scan or print again, and it keeps saying it is connected to an MBP instead of an iMac!
I already read the other related topics but my case is slightly different than those, so I will appreciate anyhelp you could provide me.

When you say you restored, what does that mean? Did you do a full restore, installing the system from the backup onto the iMac? If so, you've probably borked the system and will have to reinstall it. See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2186
Also, if you restored applications, it's possible some of those applications are not installed correctly or are not compatible with SL. Printing problems are common among folks who have not updated printer drivers to SL-compatible versions.

  • How can we interface external usb camera or usb device(storage, card reader) to Ipad 2.What all things are need(any development Kit apart from IOS sdk)

    Hi,
Before going any further in my research, I want to know the views and opinions about the intent of my work I am about to start.
AIM : I am trying to interface an external uvc camera with the ipad 2 and iphone .Just like in android there is a node(in unix and linux everythign is a file)which gets created in the /dev/ directory which can be accesses by the application using the native interfaces (JNI) and finally via the android code.I am trying to develop the similair application for the ipad 2 and iphone.
Can some one plz point out :
    (1) How I can interface external hardware like ( external uvc camera) or any other USB device(a card reader, a storage device, a barometer etc)
    (2) I have googled about Apple's Authentication chip which can be used to interface the external h/w.Can some one point out how useful it is.Is this related to that somehow.
(3)What are the things similair to JNI, node, /dev/ in the IOS for Ipad 2 and Iphone.
I will be highly obliged ,if some one could provide me the top pointers on it.
    Thanks and Rgds,

  • Camera Connection Kit with a SanDisk CF card reader not working in iOS4

Camera Connection Kit with a SanDisk CF card reader worked great before switch to 4.2.1. Now I get a message:"The connected USB device requires too much power". Again, worked great in OS3. What did Apple change? Same circumstances. The CCK works with the SD card reader, so it is working. Anyone running into this problem? Any answers? I have to use CF cards. As do many people with DSLRs.

I would be very happy for Apple to make a Compact Flash card reader just like the SD connection. Its something I would purchase immediately. Sadly Apple is yet to realise that not everbody uses crappy little point and shoot or entry level DSLR cameras and those that have the high end gear are those who woulld actually use the iPad in the real world for a travelling "light-box".
BTW does Apple ever look at this forum? or is it just a place that they specifically ignore when it comes to faulty programming or products?

  • How to make external devices (like iPods, etc.) NOT mount as connected drives when plugged in via USB to a Mac?

If I plug my iPod (or a thumb drive or whatever) to my Mac's USB port, the device appears as a icon representing a connected drive on my Mac's Desktop.
    This is normal, expected behavior.
HOWEVER, in some cases, I'd prefer that the device not "mount" as a connected external drive.
With thumb drives or external USB drive, of course, I want them to "mount" so I can transfer files on or off them -- that would be the only possible reason to connect an external drive like that.
But with other Apple devices like iPods or iPhones, there are TWO possible reasons to connect them to a Mac: either to "sync" them or transfer files on/off them; OR, to simply recharge the device's battery. (Or, both sync and recharging functions at once.)
For those people who use their Apple devices in ways that require transferring files (i.e. most people), then having the device "mount" as a connected device is a desirable behavior.
But in my circumstance (and I bet there are a lot of people in a similar circumstance), I have no need or desire to transfer any data to or from my device every time I plug it into my Mac: I'm plugging it in SOLELY to recharge the device's battery.
Specifically, in my case, I have a 6th-gen iPod Nano, and I use it exclusively as an FM radio and a pedometer. I don't have any mp3s or songs or any other external files loaded on it, nor do I plan to add any in the future.
The only reason I ever plug it into my Mac is so that I can recharge the iPod's battery.
But the "problem," which is a minor one I admit but a problem nonetheless, is that every time I connect the iPod to the Mac, the iPod appears as a "connected drive" icon on my Mac's desktop. Which means that I'm not supposed to just unplug the iPod  when I'm done -- first, I have to find its icon on the Mac Desktop, and then drag the icon to the Trash, to "unmount" it -- and only then can I freely unplug the iPod without getting an error message telling me that I shouldn't just disconnect connected drives without first properly unmounting them.
This would be bothersome enough if I only had to do it once per connection, but in the case of the iPod Nano, there's no way to tell how recharged it is while it is in the act of recharging, so that to see if I'm "done," I have to unplug it, check the battery status, and if it's not fully charged, re-plug it back in. So that each time I recharge it, I often have to unmount the drive several times, depending on how impatient I am.
There has to be a way to prevent the mounting of the drives of devices that one is connecting simply for the purpose of recharging. But how?
Strangely, I also have an old iPhone, and when I plug that in for recharging in the same way, it DOESN'T appear as a connected drive on the Desktop. I'm not sure how I managed to do this, but long ago I must have changed some setting or preference for this to happen. And by now I've forgotten what I did.
I'd prefer that I could change the "mount/don't-mount" setting on a device-by-device basis -- i.e. make it such that this particular iPod doesn't load, but perhaps a different iPod would load -- but if that's not possible, then is there a way to stop ALL iPods and iPhones from loading as connected drives when plugged in?
(I'm not talking about appearing as connected drives within iTunes -- I'm talking about appearing as an icon on the Desktop in the Finder.)
And please don't tell me to just buy a wall charger! I prefer to recharge off my computer if possible, using the charging cord that came with the iPod.
I presume there's some simple setting to toggle this on or off, but I haven't yet found it. Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I already know about that Finder Preferences option, but that is not what I'm looking for. Why not? Because I still need CDs and DVDs to appear on the Desktop and mount properly! If I uncheck the "CDs, DVDs and iPods" option, then I lose the ability to access CDs and DVDs, which creates a whole new problem for me. What I want is to not mount iPods only -- actually, what I really want is to not mount this particular iPod -- but if that level of specificity is not possible, then I want to exclude just iPods from mounting, without also condemning CDs and DVDs (or whatever) to invisibility.
Also, I was confused by the way the Preference is worded: It says "Show these items on the Desktop," with a series of options to check. But this phraseology seems to mean that the unchecked items will still "mount," they simply won't appear as Desktop icons. One would still have to "Eject" them using a menu command, rather than dragging the icon to the Trash -- right? Or am I mistaken, and is the Preference Pane simply badly worded, and when they say "Show these items on the Desktop," what they really mean is "mount these external devices as connected drives." So that if a category is unchecked, then they won't load as external drives at all?
But if so, then what purpose could possibly be served by inserting a CD or DVD that is not recognized by the computer? And if it isn't recognized, then it would seem that there would be no way to ever Eject the CD or DVD disk. Right?
Thus, if I uncheck that Finder Preference box you suggest, one of two outcomes will result:
-- Either CD, DVDs and iPods are still mounted, they just won't appear as icons on the Desktop; but they would still need to be Ejected via a menu command, which doesn't solve my problem.
-- Or, CDs, DVDs and iPods are not mounted or recognized by the computer at all, which means that if I insert a disk into the disk drive, it will get stuck there forever, since there's no way to Eject it, since the OS doesn't recognize that it's even there. Which is thereby a new problem.
Either way, I'd have a problem! Or...? Clarification, anyone?

  • Problem with external devices

    Hello.
I am having a problem with FCP and external devices. I have FCP 5.1.2, and a Sony DCR pc100 handycam, which I use to capture and record to tape all my projects. Some time ago, however, the program simply stopped outputting to the camera. I am able to capture, and the program recognizes the camera, but nothing is returned to the device. At first I thought that it was the camera, since it´s old and all, but I tried with different, newer ones, and the same thing happened. I have changed the settings in FCP, and also changed the firewire cable to see if that was it, but nothing....not only am I not able to record to tape my projects, but also I´m not able to see my work on an external monitor. If you have any ideas, I´d prreciate them....
    thanks...

  • Overloading with external devices

    Hi all,
I currently have 3 USB and 5 firewire ports available to add extra devices to my G4. I have one power strip maxed out with router, speakers, monitor, etc. and another with one device added to it. Should I be concerned with overloading when considering more external drives? How many external drives can I actually connect to my G4 AGP?
    Thanks
    Web dude

Your router, speakers, monitor, etc. don't draw power from your Mac, so they are not a concern. You mention that you are using a power strip. Hopefully, this is a surge protection power strip. Even better is an uninterruptable power supply (UPS).
I use a Belkin UPS. The UPS provides surge protection, automatic voltage control and best of all, a battery backup to keep the Mac running during power outages. It also keeps the Mac from going Off when you have a momentary "blip" in the incoming power. The UPS also has a connector for your cable or tel line to provide surge protection. This is often overlooked, because a lightning strike can also enter your Mac via a cable or tel line. A UPS is cheap insurance.

  • How to use product recovery with external devices?

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and it just happens that I wanted to re-format my windows XP. But I realized that my CD drive isn't working anymore so I decided to hook my external CD burner to my pc.
When the laptop is on, the CD is well recognized from that source. But my problem now is that I can't find a way to boot the CD from the external CD drive (USB-Boot).
How do I do it? Or does anyone have a better solution for me to format my laptop given that the internal CD drive isn't working? (I've already tried in BIOS to get external devices as the first device to boot, doesn't work :-( )

Unfortunately dude... I have bad news for you.
The booting from the external USB CD/DVD drive is not possible. The BIOS don't support this functionality.
If you need to boot from the CD you will have to buy a new, compatible and supported internal CD/DVD drive.
Please note that not all slim line CD/DVD drives are supported due to the different master/slave/c-sel settings.
Usually the user manual should provide a information about supported CD/DVD drive.
If not, then ask the Toshiba authorized service provider for an compatible drive.

  • Help with Mac Book Pro Card reader

I am hoping that maybe someone here can help me with my MacBookPro OS X 10.8.3 problem.
All of a sudden, when I put a card from my camera into the card reader and into the computer, it says that there are 0 items.
It worked fine last week, and now it doesn't.
It also will not let my external hard drive work on it. When I plug it in, the icon shows up on the desk top but says that there are 0 items in it, and I know that isn't true.

  • Unable for format SD card with HFS using internal Card Reader

I'm suspecting that this must be a software/driver issue, but I'm stumped... MacBook Air Mid2012 with 10.8 and latest updates.
The symptom is the following: SanDisk 64GB UHS card in the SD Card slot. Formats fine both FAT and ExFAT. Attempting for format HFS (any combination of encrypted, case sensitive, etc), the card formats but can't mount. Repair fails too.
Now here's the kicker, put the same card in and external SD Card Reader (via USB), it formats HFS and mounts fine. Still can't mount via the internal reader though. Tried other SD cards, down to 4GB, same deal...
Hope someone has seen this before!
    Thanks

Just a followup, in case others read this thread.
The problem was a hardware issue, requiring the LogicBoard to be replaced.
A quick test to verify the problem is to insert a SD Card, run Disk Utility and Erase the SD Card. Any format (FAT, HFS, etc) will be fine.
Once the Erase is complete, run a Verify Disk. If you have LOTS of errors during the verify, then there is a problem.
    Thanks
