Siebel - SMS's & Billing Integration (Kenan or BSCS)

Hi,
I am working on Siebel Telco implementation and looking for some white papers, docs etc on below given points:-
1) Sending & Receiving SMS into Siebel.
I checked the bookshelf but could not find any information on
a) How to send SMS using Siebel Application?.
b) How to receive SMS in Siebel Application?
I am looking for a complete solution(.pdf, docs etc) on this.
2) Out of box Adapters for Billing Systems like Kenan, BSCS etc
I was not able to find any information on integration, adapters in Siebel which support integration with above Legacy Systems.
Kindly send any info, docs, files you have asap. Thanks in advance..

In terms of your SMS implementation this will depend on what SMS gateway you are connecting to; the majoirty of these use technologies like web services but some don't so you'll need to check the details.
Regarding the adapters, are you sure that you want to implement a point-to-point solution here? There are much more robust and extensible models available that leverage an integration middleware; these have the advantage that as the middleware "specializes" in connecting to other systems they will likely have an adapter for every system.

Just to check here. The Oracle bookshelf supports the use of SMS to manage a mobile device, specifically PocketPC. These SMS messages initiate actions back to the Siebel server.
There is a command to initiate SMS messages in line with Send Fax/Send Email but I suspect that your request is to server side manage SMS as part of some sort of escalation process rather than manually driven from client side.
    Can you confirm

  • Third Party Billing Integration

Are there any guidelines for 3rd party billing integration?

    No it doesn't.
The intent of integrating with a 3rd party SSO system is for the 3rd party system to authenticate the user before the request even gets to the SSO server. So, in general, the SSO authentication process is able to obtain the user's identity from the environment, and it doesn't need to perform any verification itself.
In the case where the SSO server is not able to obtain the user's identity from the environment, it will fallback onto its configured authentication mechanism, so typically, the repository that the 3rd party SSO system uses, and the repository on which the SSO server does its own verification, should be one and the same.
The SSO server could use external authentication if necessary as well to access the same repository.
In general though, if the 3rd party SSO system, say Netegrity Siteminder, doesn't allow the request to pass to the ls_login URL until it has successfully authenticated the user, then the ls_login code will always be able to obtain the identity from the request and will never call it's own verification logic, thereby making the configured backend authentication irrelevant.

  • SMS is billed by the time

    Hi,
I am upset. I sent several messages to Latvia (mobile) which is priced 9.7 cents per message. Checked my account balance I noticed the gradual decrease. What's the...? I thought.
I checked my billing history and what I see: one message was priced at 10 cents, another at 19, another one at 29 cents. Hello!!!
If I will be paying 9.7 per SMS hell yea, I want to use Skype sms plan, not otherwise.
And the reason of different amounts is I was billed by the minute. SMS, I was billed 29 cents for, showed 3 minutes delivery. I am sorry but I am not buying that. To send "Hi friend" and if it will take 10 minutes to deliver I need to pay 90 cents, what's the...?
How to contact a billing support, I want partial refund and resolution.
It's cheaper than to send sms's from my mobile carrier.

Time Machine will remove old backups automatically. It tells you when it does, but of course by then it's too late.
There is no recovering deleted backups, since it was necessary to overwrite them with newer backups.
For further explanation read the following entries from Apple Support Communities contributor Pondini's Time Machine FAQ:
    12. Should I delete old backups?  If so, How?
    20. Once my Mac is backed-up, can I delete some stuff to save space?
Time Machine is for backups. It is not an archiving utility. To archive files requires something like one of these:
    Carbon Copy Cloner ($39.95) http://sites.fastspring.com/bombich/product/ccc
    or
    SuperDuper! ($27.95) http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html

  • Wishlist - tighter contact, calendar, sms and email integration

Here are three things that would make me a very happy 3Gs user:
o From contacts, extra button at bottom (next to "Text Message", "Share Contact" and "Add to Favorites") that says "Create Event." This would jump you to the new calendar event page with the Title and Location already filled in.
o From Calendar, if an event was created from the contacts, or the title matches a contact record, going to the event record will show a new button at the bottom "Find Contact" or "View Contact" or something that will bring you back to the contact record. This will allow us to use the address mapping feature and make calls, texts, etc.
o Somehow, from within the SMS app, allow us to "View Contact" or "Make Phonecall" so that you can switch to a call if the text message convo gets lengthy and warrants a call. Perhaps also "Send email" if the record has an email address.
Bringing these three communication features (and maybe email too -- add another bullet point above for enter/exit integration with email) closer together will make this phone OS stand out. As it is there is pretty tight integration. Increasing that integration would be great.
    Thanks,
    Mik

Your wish of being able to call or go to a contact from the SMS window is already there. In order to see it, you need to tap the name of the person at the top of the SMS window. This causes the SMS window to scroll to the top and voila, there's the buttons you're asking for.
As for the create event and calendar thing, I'm not sure how it would fill out the Title of the event when you click on it from a contact. But it's certainly a nice thing if you need to add a person to an event quickly.

  • Siebel new LDAP adapter integration with BI Publisher

    Hi All!!
We have configured our Siebel (8.1.1.3) security adapter with LDAP. BI Publisher is using Siebel security model.
We had to clone our AOM (fins_esn which is using the security adapter LDAP) to finsxx_esn because we are migrating the AD 2000 to 2008 (we are also changing the domain). The roll out will last 2 month, users will be migrated by branch, it wont be a big bang.
We have to generate a new LDAP security adapter to authenticate users who are logging to finsxx_esn to the AD 2008 (AD 2008 is on a diferent domain than AD 2000. This is working for application autehtication, no problems found here)
On a standalone environment report generation is working. But for a distributed environment (1 AOM, 1 NAOM, 1 Web Server) is not working.
Does anyone knows how to integrate to BI Publisher when you have two LDAP security adapters on Siebel Application? Or is there any authentication method to use instead of "Siebel Security" so as to achieve this?
    Regards

We actually ran into a similar problem where I work. I created a support web ticket for our issue and the response is that BIP 11G is not supported for integration with Siebel 8.1, or any other version for that matter. Oracle is currently working on a fix to integrated the latest version of Siebel with BIP.
There advice to me was to downgrade to BIP 10G for the time being.

  • Siebel and Outlook 2007 integration

    Hi there,
Does anyone know of issues with Outlook 2007 version integrating with CRM on demand? I installed the plug in and have the lookup CRM contact button but I don't have the "send and add to Siebel" button when I create new message.
    Thanks in advance!

    I have both buttons...
    Is anyone experiencing any issues?
The integration works fine on the OnDemand side but when using Send and Add to OnDemand...the outbound message gets stuck in the Outbox...never moving to the Sent items...the recipient is receiving the email?
    Anyone else experiencing this?
    Thanks

  • Does Siebel and Dun & Bradstreet Integration Still Exist?

    Hi All,
I'm wondering if Siebel partnership with Dun and Bradstreet still exist. There is very little or non existence of such integration and reference which I am able to find on Oracle web as well as Google. Firstly, I'm wondering of this partnership still. Secondly, if there is still such integration, can anyone provide further detail if what is available in Siebel for this integration? Thirdly, the customer reference. Also, one important area I'm interested to know is how the UI of this integration looks like in Siebel.
    Thanks.

    Derek,
Thank you for posting your question.  D&B does have a direct integration into Siebel with a product named D&B360.  For more detail please contact me at [email protected] or 512-380-4814 and I can assist you further.
