I'm working on Siebel Warranty Managemnt & i'm unable to view some of the screens in Siebel Automotive 8.1 Client. So for that reason i needed to apply patch since Warranty Managemnt feature has been installed in Siebel 8.1.1.5 Can any one please help on how to find that patch & apply it.

RMA Process for Warranty management

Hi,
I want to set up a return material authorization (RMA) process for one my client.
Is it possible to configure the entire RMA Process in SAP ECC for warranty management???
The scenario as per my requirement is:
Customer sending defective component/part to OEM, which is under warranty is same as sent to the supplier by OEM itself.
Is there any standard process/configuration available for this???
Note::: We don’t use CRM, PM & EWM.
Please give me your valuable advice.

BAM - Siebel Order Management demo

Hi,
I am at a large Telco customer and I am urgently looking for a demo of ‘BAM with Siebel’ for Order Management. Where can I find such a demo? It could a recorded video demo or a VM instance that I could run would be fantastic. Please point me in the right direction.

Thank you for your response.
I was also looking for options for BAN -> Siebel integration, i.e what are the options to allow Siebel users to view alerts and notifications sent by BAM do we a) Embed the BAM view in Siebel b) allow BAM to create Activities within Siebel for Siebel end users to pick up and action? Any viewlet around this would also be tremendously beneficial, what would your recommendation be around the approach for this?

Siebel Assignment Manager: Multiple Assignment Rules

Hi All,
We have a requirement where in we have multiple assignment rules for a single assignment object.
Each Rule has only one candidate. When mutiple rule satisfy, it will assign the highest scoring candidate along with other candidates, keeping the highest scoring candidate as Primary.
We only want to keep the Highest Scoring Assignee on the assignment. Anyone knows if this is possible without customization ?

yes this is possible.
Although I have not done it myself I know that it will work. You should find all necessary steps in Bookshelf "Assignment Manager Administration Guide" Chapter 10.

In which way can be address the vendor warranty scenario through PM Modu;le.

Warranty management

Hi,
Process: There is a warranty for the material and for its sub components.
Warranty master is created with all the components for the main material. Some of the components will be inclusive in the warranty and some of them will be exclusive. This master record is assigned in the serial master data of the main material. Now in the service notification it shows the main equipment is in warranty. How to check which materials are covered under warranty and which material are not. How we can see this in the service notification?
Is there any way to track it or am I doing something wrong?

In customizing if you select display dialog box ifor notification/service order/biiling request, you will get pop up if material is covered under warranty

For Siebel - Agent on Siebel server manager

Hi,
I need to load data to SIEBEL using the SIEBEL KM's (10.1.3.5 Version). The pre requisite is "ODI agent should run on the same machine where the SIEBEL srvrmgr runs".
So should i install ODI Server on the same machine where Siebel server is installed? or Do we have any other options?

If i have a requirement that, these two servers are at different machines, what will be the workaround needed.
1) Do i need to install ODI client in the Siebel server machine? or
2) Just copy the ODI installed folders to that siebel server machine and run a agent over there?
or any other way to run the agent on Sieble server machine.

Does Siebel license limits the Max task of Object Manager?

We installed a Siebel environment on a Linux VM (Linux version el6.x86_64, Read Hat 4.4.6-4, the VM has 64g ram). The database (Oracle 11.2.0.0.1) and Oracle Http Server (ofm_webtier_linux_11.1.1.6.0_32) were also installed in the same VM. We used HP loadrunner to do a performance testing, finding out the maximum concurrent user of Siebel Marketing OM. We've set the MT Server=1 and MaxTask=500. Every time the task of Marketing OM reaches 43, the OM just went "offline". No more task will be created. We check SWSE log, there were errors like "SBL-SMI-00216: Internal: Not an error, all the threads are busy". We don't know what was wrong with this. Does Siebel license limits the Max task of OM ? We used temporary Siebel license because the test was for a trial customer.

I don't think it's the license that is blocking, but technical resources.
You could try to set the MaxTask to 40 and the Max MT Server to something like 13.
But you have to check if your environment can handle 13 MT servers.

Siebel Communication Outbound Manager Crashes

The Siebel Outbound manager in 8.0 Crashes quite often, when there are multiple requests posted at the same time...triggered via WF batch manager...Do any one have experienced this?
Can anyone suggest a workaround if available?

Oracle Grid Control and Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel

I am trying to get the Oracle Grid Control Software to work with the Siebel Application Management Pack so that I can effectively monitor Siebel. The client I am at does not have a budget for proper monitoring solution therefore, I have chosen the free alternative. Anyway, the Oracle 10G Agent is running on all the windows Siebel Servers and all of the Siebel Servers appear within the Oracle Grid Control management tool. At this time I am more interested in monitoring the Siebel metrics versus the windows metrics.. I have added Siebel as a Target Subtab within Oracle Grid Control. I have also successfully run through the Oracle Agent 10G SiebelClassPathfix.bat command on each Siebel Windows Server. What I am not able to do is add a Siebel Enterprise through the Oracle Grid Control Manager Software. When I attempt to add a Siebel Enterprise I receive the following error message. Any suggestions would be beneficial.

Warranty Process for managing Vendor warranty

Hi ,
We are in the process of designing Warranty parts handling solution for a Passenger Rail company .
Need inputs to design this Vendor Warranty process in SAP.
Here are major steps in Current legacy system that we need to consider for designing this end to end process in SAP
1.The Client receives Parts (with serial number) from External Vendor with Warranty.
2.The Warranty Information is maintained with validity periods, serial numbers, vendor number, expiration etc for received parts.
3.If the parts Fail during operations, Part return transaction is executed which checks in background for Valid warranty information related to serial numbers and creates Warranty Claim. Warranty Claim is communicated via fax or phone to Vendors.
4.Warranty Purchase order referencing to warranty claim with zero price is created and parts are shipped to Vendor for replacement along with warranty PO.
5.Vendor delivers parts covered under warranty & parts are received in system against warranty Purchase order no.
What would be the best possible way to address this with SAP warranty management functionalities under SAP PM/ CS modules (Master warranty/ Warranty claim processing etc)?
Any inputs or experiences on similar type Warranty process handling in SAP will be really helpful. Looking forward to get your best inputs on this.
