Siemens, hyderabad abap certification..request for advise

Hi all,
i am planning to get trained in abap certification from siemens hyderabad. Can anyone let me know how is the training offered there and do they provide any placement assistance?

Getting certified is not the problem,but check the opportunitites outside for Freshers who are SAP Certified. The market for experienced people itself is not really good at the moment, it is still picking up, so before investing so much money just check what are the opportunities after the certification. Siemens and All other institutes will offer Moon just to make money, but how far they fullfill what they promise is something you need to check with.
The market right now is really not that fetching for freshers though you are certified.
If you are confident of grabbing a job,based on the assistance Siemens provides(If at all It provides any CONCRETE assistance),then go ahead and join the course. I know guys who are certified and have no experience for which they had to wait lot of time to get a decent job.
My opinion and Zubin's will differ,but there are always two sides of a coin.

Request for advise on Bw3.5 Exam

Hello BW Gurus ,
I am Sandya from Spain , I did my Masters in Information Technology , I learned SAP BW3.5 and ABAP from India (not from Authorized Training Partners) , I forwarded my Resume in Europe , but unfortunately , I did not get any calls .
I have decided to go for BW3.5 Certification Exam; here I have an opportunity to directly get registered for Exam.
1)     If I pass my Exam ,Will It become an asset to my Initial Career , will it add some weight to my Resume, can I expect some calls from Employees ?
2)     I have learnt BW3.5 so at this stage is it worthful to write Bw3.5 Certification or to go for BI 7.0, does the exam evaluated on percentage?
3)     At an average how many days it takes for preparing BI certification Books, and writing the Exam ?
Answers to the above questions will help me a lot, Points will be allotted.

First of all you can not write BI 3.5 certification now.
You need to write BI 7.0 certification.
You need to study TBW10,TBW42,TBW20,DBW70R,TBW41,TBW45 books.
If you have studied BW3.5 recently, then you can study the above books in 2 weeks time.
If you have forgotten BW3.5, you need to study 6 weeks. Specially you need to study integrated planning portion which was not there in BW3.5.
Certification is not tough if you are thorough in the basics.
If you are certified, it adds value to to your CV and employer can make a decision in ur favour easilly.
Now a days there is arising demand in BI.

The permissions have been repaired.
What you should do is reboot while holding down the command-r keys into the Lion Recovery Disk Select Disk Utility and run Repair Disk.

ABAP Transport Request

I have a old abap transport request for a program which was transported to qa and production to restore the old version in the production server.
when new changes were made to the program , along with the changes the latest version has gone to production , how can i solve this problem

Hello,
You need to create a new Transport, retrieve the old version of your program and send that Transport to Production.
Once the Transport is released from your system, then you can again change the program in a new TR and make the new changes.

It's best if you've done the relevant SAP courses and/or had sufficient experience covering the relevant topics. I don't think reading a book of tips & tricks will do it for you.

How to prepare for ABAP certification?

Hi,
I'm currently pursuing my ABAP certification. I've completed the training course and I've started to prepare for the certification. I've heard from a lot of people that the certification exam is really tricky and difficult to get through. A lot of well prepared people whom I've known, have failed to clear the exam. I'm not sure as to how the preparation should be. Do I complete the topics with higher weightage first and then move on to the lesser ones (or) do I just go through the topics as per the order in the training material???
I need your guidance as to how to prepare effectively for this certification.
Any other suggestions apart from the two mentioned would be greatly appreciated.

Materials about certifications are confidential and not to be discussed and also shared.
Its against the RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.
Kindly dont ask regarding certifications... better consult the SAP CERTIFICATION Partners like SIEMENS.

Success rate for ABAP certification

Hello Everybody,
I'm upbeat on taking the ABAP certification from Siemens. But I'm quite apprehensive about the course because of my background. I've no programming experience so far . I completed my MS in VLSI from Canada a month before and I'm studying ABAP from a local instititute.
Could you anyone pls suggest me that how much is the success rate for a person who is totally new to programming. Also can I go ahead with the certification.

I have a different view on the topic, and would like to share it with you.
I don't think that going for ABAP at this point is the best move to do (Specially if you live in Canada). The main reason for that is that ABAP tasks are being constantly outsourced to Asia (and as you can see from the forums - there are plenty of ABAP gurus out there). If you want to be a programmer, then i would opt for a Java certification. If you want do something related to SAP and you are starting from scratch i would recommend on Portal and XI (exchange Infrastructure), both are more in demand that ABAP, and are "hotter" in the market.

Hi, i have 2 year exp in abap.Planned to take up the exam.Now when i went through the siemens site,they mentioned like
There are two ways for getting SAP certification:
1. By undergoing the full 5-weeks training at any of the Authorized Education Partners of SAP.
2. Should have at least 2 implementations experience, were the Company authenticates and sponsors the candidate. The Company, which is sponsoring the candidate, needs to be a SAP Partner.
Problem is i worked in maintenance proj.but they have asked for 2 implem proj..Pls help me in taking up the exam..thanks.

You can do certification by e-learning method also, which you can done as a part-time basis also it will cost around 2 lakhs or so(cheaper than Siemens five week). The Experience which you have mentioned is not much helpful in giving ABAP Certification Directly.

Appearing for ABAP Certification without training at ATCs

Hi Experts,
I have almost 4 Years of experience in ABAP with 1 Implementation project.
Can I appear for ABAP certification without going for a training at siemens, genovate or any other ATC ?
What are the prerequisites for this like you should be working with SAP Customer/ Partner for a certain period of time or things like that.

Yes you can appear for direct certification....following is the prerequistives for appearing for direct certificaiotn..
To appear for certification without attending any SAP course you need to fulfill the following criteriau2019s:
1 To appear for Associate level certification without attending any SAP course you need Minimum 1 year of SAP Implementation Experience with minimum of 6 months experience in the module and version in which you wish to take up certification. To appear for Professional level certification without attending any SAP course you need Minimum to 4 - 7 years of SAP Implementation Experience with minimum of 6 months experience in the module and version in which you wish to take up certification. (Note that Support and testing experience is not accounted for direct certification in all SAP modules except ABAP)
2 The last 1 year should be with your present employer
3 Your present employer should be a CUSTOMER or PARTNER of SAP
Certification fee for Associate level will be INR 38605/- and for professional level the fee will be INR 55,150/- inclusive of current taxes applicable.
Important Note:
Clarifications required by SAP on the profile should be adhered to without which evaluation will not be done.
Please update your profiles in the first instance. If SAP does NOT approve the profile on the basis of incorrect or incomplete information, you will not be allowed to update your profiles or re-apply for direct certification for the next 6 months.
Evaluation of profile will take minimum 3 - 7 working days.

Abap certification 4.6B to 4.6C Relevant documents requested

Hi all,
I prepared ABAP 4.6B (2000) certification material for my ABAP Certification. After I find that 4.6B exam is not available and they said only 4.6C (2003) available. Please can any one list the exact differences in between these two exams (I found that the difference is ABAP Objects - BC 401). Please confirm this and let me know if we have any other differences. Please provide the BC-401 document ( Mail it to [email protected]). I am struck at the moment.

There should not be a big difference in the exams between 4.6B and 4.6C.
Even at the Netweaver exam (6.40) which I passed 10 month ago a big portion of the questions were dealing with "basic" stuff. I you have not taken any exams yet I like to mention that you do not have to write down any answers but it is a multiple-choice test:
- either a single answer is correct (then you will see radio-buttons at each possible answer) or
- serveral answers are correct (checkboxes)
Sample question: "Which modifications are possible with sorted internal tables?" => Of course you cannot append to such a table but must insert your entries.
So, if you have a firm stand on BC430 (ABAP Dictionary), have developed quite a lot (-> BC400 basics of ABAP) and have some general understanding of ABAP-OO (BC401) you will be on the safe side. Also, have a general knowledge of the SAP Technology (guess corresponding to BC050) like the client-server technology.
Official documents like the BC401 documents cannot be shared because SAP would not allow this. In any case, you will find plenty of information in the SAP online help.
Finally, I highly recommend the weblog "ABAP 46C to 640 Delta Training" (/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2005/05/15/abap-46c-to-640-delta-training) by Thomas Jung, mainly as appetizer for you when you make the switch from 4.6x to 6.40.

Go to SXMB_ADM.
