Sierra wireless 875u compatible with 10.5.2 leopard?

I'm thinking of signing up the AT&T unlimited broadband package and get a free sierra wireless 875u aircard. I have an imac running 10.5.2 at home. WIll it be compatible with it?

I can't speak to the 875u but my Sierra 597e Express card works well.

The major issue I had was with activation of the card.

  • Any wireless printers compatible with 348 ink (C9369E)?

This is a bit like a needle in a haystack! I have access to 348 inkjet cartridges (C9369E) I'd like to aquire a wireless printer but I'm unsure if the cartridges are compatible with any. Can anyone help?!?!

To cut the haystack down a bit you can find recent printers using the 348 from HP's page yield site here.  You could look through this list for wireless models.

  • Wireless printer compatible with mac book pro

what wireless all in one printer is compatible with a mac book pro(snow leopard)

You would use AirPort Utility for this. It's located as follows on your Mac:
Hard Drive > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons on the setup page
    Click the Options button
The option to create a "closed" or "hidden" network should appear. If the box is checked, uncheck it to perhaps help your printer find the wireless network
If you can connect to your wireless with your computer, you know the wireless is working correctly. You should probably contact HP for additional assistance as this appears to be an printer issue, not an AirPort Extreme issue.

  • Wireless printer compatible with Leopard?

Has anybody found a wireless printer that is compatible with Leopard and is hassle-free to install and operate?
All I want is a simple printer. I don't need scanners or faxes - just a printer that will work wirelessly.
I bought a Lexmark Z1480 over the weekend - and have given up on trying to get it to work. As others have reported each time I attempted to print a document from any application the programme quit.
If anybody has a suggestion I will be very grateful.

Take a look at the Canon MP600R. If you search here you will find reports from users who have it working in all its modes - wireless, ethernet and USB.

  • Is the wireless keyboard compatible with windows?

I have recently used one of the stunning keyboards on a mac system and i desperately want one. Just before I buy one I wanted to make sure that it is compatible with windows. Plus do I need to buy a bluetooth receiver thing or is there one included in the box? Thankyou

    System requirements are here: http://www.apple.com/keyboard/
You can use it on Windows which is running on a Mac via BootCamp because that comes with the required Bluetooth drivers.
It doesn't come with a Bluetooth Adapter.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 wireless print option with Mac OSX Snow Leopard?

Hi My 'old' 8600 printer died and I purchased a new one. I did not set up wireless communication with the old printer but am interested in doing so with this new one, or at least having that option.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8  Snow Leopard. The installation CD that came with the new printer says it's for OS X v10.6, Lion or Mountain Lion. Is it compatible with my system?
    Thanks!

Hello KelliMK, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are looking into compatibility information.  The Officejet Pro 8600 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.  The software disc should allow the full install without issue.
As for the wireless setup, I would recommend following this document on HP Officejet Pro 8600 All-in-One Printer Series - Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or W...

  • Which is best app so I can make my wireless printer compatible with ipad

I am trying to print from my ipad 2 wirelessly to my Canon MX870 but its not AirPrint compatible so I am looking for a good app that can help me to print

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Have you tried the Canon Easy PhotoPrint app for iOS available in the iTunes App store?
    Canon lists compatibility with MX870.
I've used it to scan and print from my wife's iPad 2 on my Canon MP560.
The Printopia app is often mentioned as a solution in these forums, but I've not used it.

  • Imac intel - which wireless option compatible with mac/pc

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You might find that MacCam (http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/) can help with a compatible driver for that device - it's by no means sure, but the MacCam project does support a number of Logitech USB webcams.

  • Wireless camera compatible with iChat

Does anyone know of a wireless webcam that works with iChat?
I found a bluetooth one but that has limited range of 10 to 30 feet. It would be nice to have longer range. Would that need to be a wifi webcam? All the ones I find seem to only be used in the context of a web browser rather than an application like iChat.
    thanks

    Hi,
This is the site we normally point people towards
    http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/ (don't allow the redirect)
It tends to list a history of older Cameras down the left with Amazon links to second hand ones.
I did not see any WiFi ones listed there though and only one Bluetooth one.
As the default for a Camera nowadays is essentially a UVC (USB Video Class) compatible camera and these work in Vista upwards and 10.4.9 upwards for Macs the redirect site is here http://www.uvccompatiblewebcams.com/
I did a Google Search for Wifi WebCams
This one for instance would work over your WiFi Network.
The Tech Specs say Windows only though and the output is not a format iChat can "see".
iChat can interpret DV signals from Firewire device (Camera or DV converter).
It can since 10.4.9 "see"/use UVC cameras.
Pre Snow Leopard older (USB 1.1) Cameras that had Specific Mac Drivers (Or worked with third party Drivers) could be got into iChat with iUSBCam (No longer supported in Snow Leopard).
A web browser is going to use Quicktime to access any Video it "sees".
Although iChat does use Quicktime it is limited to the formats I have mentioned above.
This Article from 2004 uses a second Mac with a Firewire external iSight back to a central point and then Evocam and Security Spy to upload pics to a server/Web site.
This one "sort of" imported Video on one iChat computer and streamed that to another when cetain conditions were met (used Status Messages like iTune Remote does).
CamcamX may provide you with a means of getting other Video into iChat.
A Bluetooth Hub may be another options.
Basically I think you will find it difficult to find a Wifi Camera that can get Video into iChat.
The same may be true of Blue Tooth ones as well. Although this one does advertise it will work with iChat.
There are ways of "Converting" video using third party apps that may get the Incoming Video into iChat.

  • Anyone know a USB wireless adaptor compatible with 10.5.2?

I have a Belkin F5D7050 adaptor, got all sorts of issues with it, I've set my mac up on the net and a wireless network through it, using a Ralink driver, it works but every so often the mac crashes.
So, need a new adaptor or better drivers! Had a search around but can't find much. Any suggestions?
    Much appreciated.

To expand, Airport is a Mac OS X structure, Apple normally rename boring tech to something more cool e.g
    Airport = 802.11b
    Airport Extreme = 802.11g
However, with that in mind Apple do write their own drivers to support chipsets they actually use, hence my recommendation of a BroadCom equipped card.
As for installation, simply open your case, remove one of the blanking plates on the PCI slots (one screw), push the new card in and then the screw can go back. Close the Mac, start up and it should be seen automatically.
Refer to your manual for location of the PCI slots.

  • Compatible with new MAC OS Leopard?

    Dear experts,
I bought my PowerBook G4 in the summer of 2005, so it does not have the intel processor and from my understanding it was the last of its model. So, will I still be able to install the new MAC OS 11 Leopard when it is released? If so will I be missing out on any features?
While I know from my limited understanding it might be impossible, but what type of upgrades or modifications should/can I consider on my PowerBook to prepare it for the new OS and to expand its life span 2-3 more years?
    Thank you!
    Tomes

I notice quite a bit of slow down when I'm running say, a PDF, Safari, Mail, MSN Messenger, and I use iTunes and iPhoto alot. I am not a huge multimedia person in terms of designing or building, but I read and watch lots of it for school and work while trying to get other work done... i.e. watch a news report while summarizing on word and then sending it in e-mail.
Hope this helps with diagnosis. Thanks!

  • Are Director 12 projectors NOT compatible with Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.8)?

I have a user running Mac OSX Leopard (10.5.8), and when he launches the software it says "this application cannot run." It then takes him to the adobe shockwave 12 download page.
The projector is build on Adobe Director 12. It loads fine on versions as old as 10.6.8, and the most recent ones.
Anybody else have this issue or know anything about it?

Well, in case anyone else was looking for an answer...
Turns out D12 Mac projectors require minimum 10.6 (D11.x was minimum 10.4).

  • Is WRT54G3GV2-ST Compatible with Sierra U598 Air Card?

I recently purchased the WRT54G3GV2-ST and the Sierra U598 Air Card from Sprint.
The Router does not even recognize the Air Card despite multiple attempts to install and configure the router.  The firmware on the Linksys Router is version 1.00.14.  Is there an upgrade for the firmware or any other suggestion to get the router to work with the Air Card?  Should they be compatible?

This is probably inappropriate but I was dissappointed that the Linksys router was NOT compatible with the new Sprint Sierra 598 Air Card and I spent $50 on shipping (priority inbound and return). I subsequently purchased a CradlePoint 1000 Wireless router and the thing rocks. It is lightning fast and serves up a small office faster than a comparable AT&T Air Card dedicated to just one computer. Kudos to Sprint / CradlePoint for the speed. Linksys needs to play catch up.
