Sigma raw (x3f) support for Merrill series of cameras . . .

Just wondering when and if Adobe is going to support it in camera raw. I've been a Photoshop user since version 2 or 3 - would really like to continue with it.
Thanks and look forward to your response!

Actually They do they use  a Converter that changes all Camera formats to DNG Format. That Photoshop actually can read. It works with all versions of Adobe Photoshop. The people from adobe claim  (When I wrote and asked why they simply couldn't use the Camera Raw system That Apple updates every month or two to add new Cameras) That NEF and the other format that Nikon, Cannon Sony are just something they just made up and are not legitimate file formats. (despite their being used by their respective companies for years.)
Each new version of Photoshop comes with a new version of this converter built in. And in the the past Until they came out with their way over priced subscription service you had to upgrade to a new version of PS in order to use your new camera. I have to note that Lightroom4 apparently doesn't need the converter.(on Mac they evidently uses built in Apple's Raw Converter).
Go to Adobe's website > support and put in search box DNG Converter.

  • Camera RAW image support for Pentax K100D

    Hi,
Firstly, let me just say I have a MacBook Pro which came preloaded with Tiger. A month or so ago I upgraded to Leopard and I have applied all the available Apple software update.
I recently got a Pentax K100D digital SLR camera capable of taking images in RAW format (the pentax saves these with a .PEF file extension) and I have been trying to view these images in Leopard. I read the article below, which says that Leopard provides system-level support for the Pentax K100D camera RAW format.
*Digital camera RAW formats supported by Mac OS X 10.5*
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835
Now, my problem is that I cannot seem to be able to open the .PEF files with neither Quick Look, Preview, iPhoto or Aperture. Basically, none of these programs seem to be able to display my .PEF files. Aperture says 'unsupported image format'.
I have installed the software that came with my Pentax (i.e. Pentax Photo Browser and Pentax Photo Laboratory) and these applications can display the .PEF images just fine. For what it's worth, I installed this software before I upgraded to Leopard.
If I right-click on a .PEF file in Finder, the only programs listed in the Open context menu are the above two Pentax applications.
So, what am I missing? Clearly something seems to be screwy in my Leopard set up. Is there some way to 'repair' the RAW image support in Leopard??
I would appreciate any help in fixing this as I would really like to start working with RAW images in Aperture and iPhoto.
Finally, just be aware that I am not an experienced Mac user. I have always used Windows until now and so... if you have a fix for this I would really appreciate a slightly more elaborate response.
    Thanks in advance,
    Eddie

I have done a little more research on this...
As it turns out, my camera is a Pentax K100D Super - not a K100D. The K100D Super is not listed as one of the supported camera RAW formats in the aforementioned article. So I guess this means that my camera is as yet unsupported. Sigh...

  • Raw Support for Leica X Vario Camera?

Is There Raw (DNG) support a Leica X Vario camera?  I've currently dowloaded LR 5.7 and tried tio import two DNG files from the camera and the software won't read them.  any idea about what is going on.

5.7 has added some Leicas. You may have to wait for the next release.
Nobody here knows when the next release is due.

  • Raw file support for HS50EXR in LR4

When will raw file support for the new Fuji HS50EXR camera be added to Lightroom 4?
I noticed the the other fuji cameras from the HS/EXR range are supprted but the new HS50EXR has not been added as yet...can i hope that raw file support for the new Fuji HS50EXR camera will be added real soon?...please!

I suspect it might have been released a bit late for the next camera update version, it really depends on how soon Adobe get their hands on a camera.

  • Sigma Raw not supported?

    Hey,
Any idea if there will be coming the time for Sigma RAW means .x3f support in some "pro" future?
    Well...
    Hope dies at the end.

Here is not the place to tell Apple this. You are talking to other users just like yourself here.

  • How do I get Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) support for my new Canon EOS 7D mkii.

I purchased the new Canon EOS 7D mkii in early November. I tried opening the raw files in both the latest Creative Cloud versions of Photoshop and Lightroom. I found that Adobe Camera Raw, both the current versions and ACR 8.7 beta/release candidate, did not support this camera. I know one exists because dpreview reviewed the pre-relase version of this camera in mid-October showing images processed with an unreleased version of ACR?
How do I get this early unreleased version of ACR for this camera?

Canon Eos 7D Mark ii was launched after we released ACR 8.7 RC. So, that’s the reason it is not included in the RC version. However, it is on our radar and hoping to add it in an upcoming update itself.
As soon as it is available, it will be updated in the below article.

  • Raw Processing Support for Canon D5

Is this in the current 1.01 version of Aperture. I thought it was but saw some posts that make me rethink my recollection.

"Optimized" means that images from the camera have undergone an extra level of quality review, with the goal of delivering the best quality rendering.
As has been mentioned elsewhere on this forum, the RAW decode quality - for all supported cameras - has been greatly improved in v1.1.

  • AVC support for 3500 Series AP on 5760 platform

    Hi all,
The title says it all. According to the 5760 Configuring Application Visibility and Control guide only the following AP types are supported
Cisco Aironet 1600 Series Access Points
Cisco Aironet 2600 Series Wireless Access Points
Cisco Aironet 3600 Series Access Points
What about the 3500 Series? Is it not (yet) supported? They are still relatively new and AVC works on AireOS based WLCs.
Had not yet the chance to do a test myself, so I am asking here.
    Regards,
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
Here is the latest AVC guide for 5760. Only addition was 3700 to the list of 1600,2600 & 3600.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/5700/software/release/ios_xe_33/iosXE_3point3_AVC_DG.html
    So no support for 3500.
I do not think Cisco will make it work as they want to discontinue 3500 series.

  • Support for HD (1280x720px) web-cams

    Does JMF 2.1.1e support HD format (e.g. 1280x720 px, 30 FPS) web-cams?
After a recent purchase of a Netbook with web-cam, I finally got around to playing about with using JMF to access the inbuilt cam and grab sequences of frames (for time-lapse animations). Unfortunately the inbuilt camera is 640x480 and of otherwise low quality (as you might expect of a camera supplied as standard in a Netbook). Am considering buying a HD web-cam, but need to assure myself I am not spending $70+ for a camera that is not compatible with JMF.
Did a quick search of the forum for '720' and got 5 hits that were not relevant.
Side note: Checked the Netbook could take 4 hours worth of frames every 2 seconds and store them (into a Zip archive) at 640x480 using the internal camera on battery. It still had 31% charge left. It will be interesting to see how storing the images performs in terms of charge, using an USB based HD camera. ;)

Andrew, if you don't mind learning something new, I think your best bet would be Adobe Flex. It's free and it's got excellent support for web cams... I'd take a look at some ActionScript code and see if it's something you think you could pick up fairly easily.Might be the way to go. ..That is probably a cleaner approach, but in the end I settled for a hack.
    - A simple Java app. that will click a point on screen repeatedly using Robot.
    - VLC media player connecting to the web cam and offering a snapshot button to click.
Connected to the new 'Fission'(1) webcam, I get 1600x1200 snapshots in .png format that I can further utilize to create either 1600x1200 4:3 ratio animations, or by cropping a little of the top & bottom and down-sizing, a 720p 16:9 ratio animation. I'd probably do the latter using JAI from an Ant task.
A test last night suggested it could only grab an image around once every 4 seconds. I set it for every 2 seconds over two hours, and while I expected 3600 images, I ended up with just 1836. Given the still camera could only manage one shot every 9 seconds or so, this still allows me to keep the same basic rate of progress of the animation at double the FPS (15->30) that I was seeking. The only other concern is the total length of animation obtainable via. a single battery pack. The 2 hour run took battery from 100% to 41%, but I am hoping I can stretch it to (at least) a 4 hour shoot using a 4 second delay.
    1) I had never heard of the Fission brand before I saw it. I got it from Aldi(2) for $25 Aus. It supports a phenomenal range of formats, some astonishingly high.
    2) Not sure if Aldi operates in your neck of the woods. They are a German based group that supplies groceries real cheap, and offer whatever other little nick-knacks that are also cheap.

  • Can you tell me when RAW (ORF) support for Olympus E-PL7 in Lightroom or DNG Converter is coming? The camera is no use to me until you provide support!

I recently bought the new Olympus E-PL7 an dam finding ti incredibly frustrating that Lightroom still doesn't support it. Is there any news on that?

First of all, this is a user-to-user forum. Nobody here can tell you when/if that camera will be supported. Secondly, Adobe doesn't make announcements like that in advance. The camera will be supported when it is. All of the previous models of that series are now supported in Lightroom, so I suspect it will only be a matter of time until your model will be supported. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but that is the reality of things. There is a release candidate of the next Camera Raw and DNG converter, but your camera is not listed as one of the newly supported cameras. That does not mean that it wouldn't be included in the final version. You just have to wait and see.

  • Raw file support for Canon S50

Apparently Aperture/Mac OS X does not support this format out of the box (but does support the S60 & S70).
    1) Any way to trick it into understanding those files ?
    2) If there is no way to solve (1), what is the best workflow for working with those files ?
Right now I import into Lightroom and then export as TIFF 16 bits followed by in import in Aperture. But they are no longer considered "RAW". If I export the files to DNG in Lightroom, Aperture only sees the thumbnail part and the photos have a ridiculously low resolution.
    Any tips ?

  • Epson raw file support for Aperature

does aperature support epson raw file? .ERF?

I just purchased Aperture last night (at the new Apple Store on 5th Ave.).
I have been using the Epson R-D1 for a year and have a few thousand ERF (Epson Raw Files). Converting ERF to editable files in PS has been slow indeed. I was hoping Aperture would liberate me from this.
SORRY TO REPORT, "APERTURE" DOES NOT RECOGNIZE "ERF" FILES.
Regrettably, I did not do my homework. Fortunately, my son will be able to use Aperture with his Nikon D100.
I found this post in my search to see if anyone has had any better luck... if there are plug-ins, work arounds, Apple support, etc.
    Anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks
