  • Single Sign On for SAP - Integration wih AD

Users often need both an SAP and Active Directory identity and password to work in their IT environment. However, these multiple identities and passwords create several problems: user confusion leading to decreased productivity, increased help desk costs and security breaches.
For this purpose how can we extend Active Directory authentication for single sign-on to SAP?

    Hi,
It seems that SAP SSO/IWA  based on Spnego Kerberos is what you want.
Spnego Kerberos only works on a J2EE stack based system.
The classical technique is so to implement it on a SAP portal and to use redirect applications to use the portal saplogon ticket to authenticate on abap systems.
Check help.sap.com on the subject, you will get a lot of information.

    Hi.

    2. Where is the purpose of SAP ADS in digital signature?
    3. Do I need to get a new license for using the digital signature feature in form 16?
    4. My company is getting the digital signature part done thru a 3rd party. How to upload this digital signature into PC00_M40_F16?
    5. What are the relevant SNotes to be installed to use this feature?
    Regards

    Hi Abraham,
The workaround software we have used is provided by Ace Technology, they are one of the approved DSC vendors.
    This is their contact details:
    | Email: [email protected] | website: www.acetechnology.co.in
If you are going for the same vendor, go for a Grade 3 signature, it allows you to do a Mass Digital Signature.
The tech support provided by them was not that great, we eventually figured out how to use thier product, but incase you take the same service I can help you in figuring out how to use the USB token.

  • SSF: verification of third-party signed documents on SAP GUI/AS

    Hello everybody,
I try to test SSF infrastrucure in SAP R/3 using SAPCRYPTOLIB, however, signing and verification of documents works fine when I use standard system PSE (SAPSYS.pse) and standard server certificate (CN=MEI) only.
I need to realize the scenario when I sign a document in web browser using an Active-X component available on the market (I use my personal certificate of type RSA SHA-1 from web browser). Then I want to verify the signature of signed document on WAS. I use the standard function SSF_KRN_VERIFY, but I always obtain SSF_API_DECODE_FAILED. The same thing happens when I try to verify the signature on SAP GUI. I made a RSA PSE into which I placed my personal certificate for verification.
I know it relates to problem with conversion to ANS.1 format, however, I do not know how to fix it. May be, there will be another problem with private key length used for signing which is 1024 bits. I don't know if SSF supports it. Do you have any suggestions ?
    Many thanks

We have made some studies.Still we need some suggessions to achieve the final goal.

    SSF settings for system signature
Check and if necessary maintain the standard settings. To do this, execute the following activities in the IMG under SAP Web Application Server -> System Administration -> Digital Signature:
    • Define application-dependent parameters for SSF functions
    • Define security settings for the system
    The above IMG Structure
SAP Web Application Server -> System Administration -> Digital Signature:
Is not appearing in ECC6.0. Where we can find the above structure in ECC6.0?

--> Maintaining the system security information.

We have to create new “SAP System's Personal Security Environments (PSEs)” ?
What is the procedure to create SAP System's Personal Security Environments (PSEs) ?

  • Signing digitally changes fonts in document when saved

I have just been sent a couple of document to sign - something I have done many times in the past few weeks.
When I save these documents after signing them - much of the  text in the documents changes to something difficult to read (I suspect it may be courier).
This seems like a serious error to me as a lot of the point of digital signatures is that you sign and return a document that you can't otherwise have made  changes to.
Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?
I'm using Acrobat Reader 10.1.9 on Mac OSX 10.9.2 (Mavericks). The documents were created on a PC.
I've attached a limited screen shot - although the document is fairly confidential so I can't upload most of it.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, my question was posted so long ago that I no longer have access to the documents. I printed and signed paper copies and deleted them. So the problem has gone away for me. However, I DO think this is a very serious issue.
I am a bit rusty now but I used to work a lot with Postscript and PDF. In my day, you could only realistically modify the content of a pdf document by appending new content to the file and then appending  a new index. That ensured that, although the visual appearance changed, the underlying electronic document did not and even deleted items were still present - just no longer indexed and hence not displayed. That was a great system as it maintained an audit trail. I  assumed that was how signatures worked which is why I was surprised to see the symptom I sent you.
I fully understand all you say about font substitution and multi-master fonts but I fail to see why it is relevant. If adding a signature is coded in a “well behaved” manner, adding it could not affect the rest of the document - including embedded or non embedded fonts. If it is not coded in that way, and some sort of active editing of the original content is going on, I am concerned that the legality of signed documents is seriously compromised as, if you can modify one bit of the original to add a signature you can edit any other bit of the document and subtly change it’s meaning WITHOUT AN AUDIT TRAIL. If that is what is happening, I for one would be wary of accepting important documents as signed PDFs instead of paper documents without thoroughly scrutinising the whole thing to see if any subtle changes have been introduced.
    All the best
    Dave

  • Signing\Digital signature on JNLP file

    Hello,
I have signed my JWS app jar files with a valid certificate (COMODO) and this works fine but the user still receives a warning message that states:
'Part of the application is missing a digital certificate'.
Inspecting the warning indicates that the JNLP file isn't signed.
    http://www.broughty.com/images/JNLPSigning.PNG
My JNLP files are built and streamed on the fly via a servlet.
It would appear this may be due to the property tags we use and that somehow magically prefixing the property name value with .jnlp or .javaws will help.
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/doingMoreWithRIA/settingArgsProperties.html
However this 'prefixing' doesn't seem to work - at least it made no odds to the warning I got when I altered the JNLP creating servlet to generate the reource property tag values with a .jnlp or .javaws prefix.
There is another old thread on this issue but, as with a lot of threads on here, OTT admin's have locked it with a snarky final comment for posterity.
I would imagine that a lot of web start apps are signed so how have other people got around this? It isn't a showstopper but I would be happier if at least the JNLP warning could be removed.
    Cheers
    Mat
p.s has anyone managed to get the 'insert a link' button to work on this forum?

Assuming that you have actually signed it properly using the private key associated with the COMODO signed certificate then it looks to me as if the COMODO certificate is not trusted so the signature on the jar files cannot be verified. Is the COMODO certificate in the Java trust store?
P.S. I suspect your "property tags" comments are just a red herring.

  • How to sign digital cerificate for adobe air application

Hello freinds Please guide me how to sign the digital cerificate for my adoge air application.

I assume you use Flex Builder. There is a UI that will let create a certificate when you try to export the AIR file.
If you are using ADT directly. Use the '-certificate' option to create a PFX file.

  • How to create a Self-Signed Digital Certificate in Office 2013

In office 2010 we had a "Digital Certificate for VBA Projects" tool for creating self-signed certificates.  How do we do this with the newer Office 2013 suite?

    Eugene,
This answer is wrong.  The Answer from rLogic above is better.  Things in fact
have changed.  The article: Digitally sign your macro project
is fine for Office 2010 but not for Office 2013.  The article: Digitally sign your macro project  tells you to do this:
Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP
Click Start, point to All Programs, click Microsoft Office, click Microsoft
Office Tools, and then click Digital Certificate for VBA Projects.
The Create Digital Certificate dialog box appears.
    </section>
But, you can't follow these instructions if you have office  2013. In Office
    2013 Digital Certificate for VBA
no longer exists in the Microsoft
Office Tools folder.  You  need to hunt for
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
    15\root\office15\SELFCERT.EXE"
and then run that .exe by clicking on it.  Then you can follow the rest of the instructions
in Digitally sign your macro project

  • Creating a .pdf that someone can sign digitally

Where I work we FAX out hundreds of drawings per year for customers to sign.  These are 8.5" x 11" documents usually between one and five pages.  Is there anyway to create a .pdf that that has some kind of signature line or signature button that the customer can click to indicate approval of the drawing?  This would alleviate the need for both the original FAX and for the customer's return FAX.  I know how to create the .pdf but don't know how to put in a signature option.
We are using Adobe CS3.  We also have Adobe Acrobat 9 and LiveCycle Designer ES2.
    Thank you.

With Acrobat 8 (Pro or 3D) or Acrobat 9 (Standard, Pro, Pro Extended) you can "Reader enable" a PDF.
One thing this provides is that users of Adobe Reader (back to, I think, Reader 7.(something)) can use the Comments & Markup tools.
So, you send me this PDF of a drawing. It is "Reader enabled".
I use Adobe Reader (knowing "good tools" is "good business", I'm using Reader 9 - fully updated <g>).
I open the PDF. I add a "Sticky Note", maybe add some text, and use the Options drop-down to go to Set Status > Review > Accepted.
Maybe I get fancy and go into the Sticky Note Properties to change the "appearance" from the default "Comments" to one of the other icons available.
You get the annotated PDFs back. Perhaps an individual PDF has more than one annotation.
Open the Comments List. Looking over the Tool bar for this you will see that you can show/hide/sort and output PDF reports.
Of course, a small learning curve is involved.
Pay off is that the turnips go to market via a truck versus a horse drawn cart (fax).  8^)
    Be well...

  • When we need to go for single sign-on in SAP-XI

    hi,
When exactly we need single sign-on, and if we do not implement single sign-on in XI , do we get any problems during implementing the project.
    Regards
    siva

    Siva,
SSO is used to avoid signing on using password each time into ur IR /ID RWB or Appln. system. See each and everytime when u log in to these systems u need to give user name and pwd, but if  enabled SSO then it won't prompt for u the password. Once u enter the username it will log u in.
No, you won't get any problem in XI , if u haven't enabled SSO in XI. Its the additional feature so that it will not affect ur implementation.

  • Server always needs to be specified on Sign-on to SAP B1

Two particular users have this issue. Every time they click on SAP B1 icon and enter user and password, message is issued stating that user or password is invalid. Eventually, the Choose Company window is display without any company databases listed. User then selects the server and can then select a databse and login using same user and password originally entered.
All other users when they login go to the last comapany database last accessed automatically.
SAP B1 is 2007A PL 15 and MS SQL 2005.
Can't see this scenarion listed anywhere in the Forum or in SAP B1 Notes.
Has anyone experienced the same issue? Is there a workaround?
    Thanks.

Found this entry under the SAP B1 Login issues and will ask cstomer IT to follow-up.
Influence 6: User privileges are not setup correctly
    Reason: Insufficient privileges in Windows
After install/upgrade of SAP Business One or certain changes in the domain were made one or more users need to type always the SQL credentials 'sa' user and password.
    What to verify/check
Check with the system administrator if the user has at least 'power user' privileges
Check in the folder '%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One' that you can add a file/create a new folder or change a text file.
    Resolution
    Check SAP Note
    1156461
Ask the System Administrator to raise the privilege (or copy from another user that does not face the issue) for this user to the profile folders:
    '%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One'
Copy the profile files from another user's machine to the affected desktop and test it again.
