Sign In and Account unresponsive !!!!

When in App Store it's impossible to sign in or to access my account.
When I click on either functions nothing happens

First, install the v10.6.6 combo udpate available here.

Then repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.
If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US 
After you restart your Mac, try signing in. If you still have problems, go here to reset your AppleID.

Then try signing in again. If you still have problems, you can report a problem here.

When I try to sign in to my iTunes account on both my computer, an error pops up saying,
"We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (5002)
There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later."
When I trying signing into my account on my iPod, I get a message saying,
"Cannot connect to iTunes store"
I have seen across the internet that this has happened while trying to purchase things, but I can not even sign in!
I have also seen a case just like this, but many, many people were having that problem at the same time.
It seems like right now, only I am having this issue.
I can sign into my mother's iTunes account perfectly fine. ( I was using her account for a while, until I decided to switch to my own)
I have had an apple ID for a while now, but never have used it for iTunes.
I can sign into the "my apple id" website perfectly fine, just not iTunes on my iPod or computer!
I can not even sign into the appstore! (When trying to sign into the app store, it just says an unknown error occured, it doesn't say 5002)
What shall I do?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ appstore.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), but when I try and use my iPad, it is asking me to sign out and delete the account, losing all data. If I do this, will it all still be there on my new ID? Thanks.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), via the Apple website on my laptop, but when I try log into ITunes on my iPad, it still has the old ID. It is greyed out, so I can't change it. On researching further, it seems I have to sign out of iTunes and sign back in using new address. Ok so far, but when I do this, it asks if I want to delete the account and any data on the cloud. If I do this, and sign in with changed ID, will all the data be there Or will it be lost? Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

HT5622 I keep getting a pop up about signing into an Icloud account. It won't take the password. I tried to log in on pc and sign in and screwed up on my security questions and it's kicked me out.. how long til I can try again?

I am in iphone **** or better icloud ****. When I try to go ointo settings on the phone a signin prompt pops up continuously with one apple id. I think i've made it that i have a separate icloud and apple id. I am trying to delete the icloud id. I made all the passwords the same so that there should be no problem but the phone won't still take the password. So when i went in again, looking to see if I could delete the icloud, i screwed up answering my security questions and am now unable to enter that icloud id. How long til I can again? Secondly, since the phone won't accept any password, I have tried to delete it. When I do that, it come up with a request for that same password to shut of the locator service. What the heck? It sounds like you have the Find my iphone Activation lock for sure. Go to www.icloud.com/find and see if you put in that Apple ID that is coming up and yoru password to see if you are able to sign into the account that way to turn it off. If you are unable to, you will have to contact AppleCare by phone (chat cannot handle account lock outs or forgotten password due to not being able to verify your identity) and see if they can reset it. And are you sure the Apple ID that is coming up yours?

iPhone, iPad: Settings > Mail, Calendar, Contacts > iCloud > choose that you want free @me.com address during the process.

Try opening the Mac App Store and go to the Purchases tab. See if you see the preinstalled iMovie App there. You may have to accept it into your Apple ID if you have not done so already. Then it should upgrade.

I'm having the exact same problem. I upgraded to the newest version of iTunes on my iMac and ever since I did the store is a blank white screen. I can get my library content but the store is a no go. Is there any one out there with a solution?

The installation of iTunes has nothing to do with your iTunes account.
Are you unable to access your iTunes account because of a forgotten password? If so, then you can reset it here.
However, if you are unable to access your account for some other reason (disabled, etc), then you may need to contact the iTunes Store Support team

Problem updating pre-installed iPhoto and iMovie "to update this application, sign into the account you used to purchase it"

My dad bought a new retina macbook pro over a year ago.
The pre-installed iPhoto and iMovie applicaitons get this error when trying to download an update:
"to update this application, sign into the account you used to purchase it"
We are logged into the only account that he has ever had.
He has mountain lion.
It's very annoying and there's no way we know of to get around it. Searching and searching online led nowhere.

You cannot.
As requested... You need to use the SAME Apple ID that Originally made the Purchase of whatever Application you are trying to Update.

That's because the Mac, OS X and the iLife apps that came preinstalled on the Mac all belong to the previous owner. The previous owner needs to call Apple care and have their Apple ID disassociated from the Mac. Then the hard drive needs to be totally erased and OS X and the iLife apps reinstalled using OS X Recovery.

Copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the music folder) from your old computer to your new one, using one of the methods outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.
