Multiple users in household, how do I simply sign out of an account and not delete the account?

I just got an iPad and am still figuring out its quirks. One thing that is completely frustrating me is that I am being told that I have to delete accounts instead of simply being able to sign out? I don't get it? For instance the Gmail app lets you switch between accounts but both are always signed in. Same with iCloud and Appleid's. I don't get it? I have multiple users at my house that use the same apps but we can't sign in and out as our respective selves? Is this an Apple thing? I haven't used Apple products since the mid 90's so I could just be out of the loop? Not being able to Sign in and out doesn't seem very logical to me so it makes me think that I must be missing a step because why on Earth would you not have that function? Help me understand. Please and thank you.

You are not going to like the answer, but no you cannot sign out of email accounts on the iPad. The iPad was originally designed to be a single user device that was to be used in conjunction with one's own iTunes library. That was back in 2010 when the first iPad was released. many things about the way you can use an iPad have changed, but it still designed to be a single user device.
Anybody can check email in a web browser on the iPad, just like one can check ther email on any computer by signing into their account, but the built in Mail app does not have separate user accounts. You can sign into and out of Apple ID's on the iPad but that is where Family Sharing comes into play.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), but when I try and use my iPad, it is asking me to sign out and delete the account, losing all data. If I do this, will it all still be there on my new ID? Thanks.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), via the Apple website on my laptop, but when I try log into ITunes on my iPad, it still has the old ID. It is greyed out, so I can't change it. On researching further, it seems I have to sign out of iTunes and sign back in using new address. Ok so far, but when I do this, it asks if I want to delete the account and any data on the cloud. If I do this, and sign in with changed ID, will all the data be there Or will it be lost? Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

My photos have stopped showing up on my pc from my iPhone. They do still show up on my iPad. I have signed out of iCloud on my pc and then signed in, but that didn't help. Very puzzling. Any help?

The iCloud backup only backs up your camera roll photos, not photo stream photos. Also, photos only remain in photo stream for 30 days. After that they are removed from your photo stream, but will remain on your devices that already have them. If all your photo stream photos are older than 30 days, that would explain why they don't stream to your iPhone 5 even though they are on your iPad.
To get them on your phone, you can use an app like PhotoSync, which will wirelessly transfer photos from any album (including photo stream) between your devices. Alternatively, you can save the photo stream photos to the camera roll on your iPad (by opening the My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), put them in a folder, then select the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync them to your phone.

I signed out of my MobleMe and it wont let me sign back in. I have been trying to see what I can delete from my Icloud so I don't have to buy storage, so my phone will back up. I have hardly anything on my phone for apps my largest is camera which is 2.0GB. The rest are small MB or less. I tried to sign out of my moble me account and i know the password and account name which is saved under the keychain access on my comp. but now when I try to sign back in it says my account name is invalid and or my password is incorrect. Updating Snow Leopard won't help. You need to Upgrade OS X to Lion or higher if your system will support it. First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
Lion system requirements are:

OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)

Apps are locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them. You will have to sign in as your brother in order to update it.

I tried to change my apple I.D on my ipod touch in my settings and in my settings it says its changed but when i try to download an app it asks me for my password for my old account. how do i fix this? i tried to sign out then sign in again and it failed

I would like to know the exact error message when you sign in, in the meanwhile please try the following steps assuming its Windows, let me know if its a MAC:
1) Go to Start button>> Control panel>> Uninstall a program.
2) Check if you see Browser safeguard there, if yes then uninstall it.
3) Open Internet explorer>> Tools>> Internet options>> Connections>> Lan Settings>> and it should be like this.

Hi I can't update my apps when I try to update it asks for password when used it goes back to update. I think I'm not alone and have tried changing date switching off signing out and in and rebooting. Is there a solution or do I need to take it in?

I can't update my apps each time it asks for password when entered it goes straight back to update. I don't think I am alone in this. I have tried changing the date, rebooting, switching off and on signing out and nothing works. Does anyone know of a solution or will I have to take it to an apple shop. My apple ID is correct on my App page but when I try to update my Apps it has an incorrect Apple ID so I can't sign in to update my apps. I have tried signing out and signing back in, I have turned my phone off, the settings is correct too.

The username in settings-general-apps is correct and the username on the App store page is correct. The only place it is incorrect is when I try to update my apps. How do I update the username when trying to update apps?

I had the same thing happen today on my wife's phone. I couldn't find any answers on the support site and of course I could not get any help from Apple since my phone was old. I kept digging and figured out how to fix the problem. I opened the app store app and signed out of the old id and then signed back in using my new id. It looks like this may have fixed the problem.

Can't get the desktop app to work - forced to sign out and it shuts down

I was unable to install the most recent update for Adobe Story, so I uninstalled the app, went online and re-downloaded. Now, when I try to launch I get an error that user preferences weren't found, and it forces me to sign out, so I can't work offline.
I've tried a system restore, but it did not fix the problem. At this point, I am unable to use Adobe Story on my computer, just online.
Please help me fix this.

I solved this myself by creating a second Adobe ID, sharing my project files with myself under the new ID.
The app works with the new ID I created.
