Sign in Issue with FaceTime
I keep trying to sign in to FaceTime on my MacBook Pro. It asks for my Apple ID and password and signs me in, then it asks whether I would like to use my phone number or email. Regardless of what I select, when I hit next, it shoots me back to the page asking for my Apple ID and password. Has anyone else had this issue or can anyone shed some light on this?

Unable to log into iMessage and intermittent issues with FaceTime
Late 2011 MacBook Pro, OS X 10.8.4. I'm an admin level Windows guy but a relatively new (and otherwise very pleased) convert to Mac OS.
This morning Messages started repeatedly prompting me for my iMessage password and FaceTime has starting working only intermittently. Both work fine from my iPad and iPhone 5. Both have been working from my MacBook Pro for months.
This morning when I tried to fire up Messages on the MacBook I got an error saying "The server encountered an error processing registration". After doing some Googling, I noticed that many folks said that when they had this problem they also had an issue with FaceTime. I confirmed that FaceTime was indeed giving me the same error as iMessage. After trying some solutions from past threads that didn't work, I rebooted. Now instead of throwing an error, Messages just keeps asking me for my iMessage password again and again. FaceTime works occasionally but sometimes when I get a call and click answer, I get "call failed" as my iPhone and iPad continue to ring and then I'm asked to re-enter my password on the MacBook. If I enter my password it just sits and spins. If i quit FaceTime and start it again, it'll usually log in successfully but calls may or may not work (following the same pattern I just mentioned).
The odd thing to me is that when I tested FaceTime on my iPad, I got notifications on my iPad and iPhone and my primary and alternate email address were now registered with FaceTime. They have been for over a year so I'm not sure why I'm getting those notifications again.
I'm able to log into the Mac App store without a problem using the same AppleID
What I've tried so far based on Google results:
1. In Keychain Access, reset my default keychain - No improvement
2. In Keychain Access, selected Keychain First Aid, repaired and verified - No improvement
3. On my iPad, turned iMessage off and back on - No improvement, though iMessage on the iPad still works fine
4. Confirmed that my primary and secondary AppleID email addresses and password are correct. The email address associated with my AppleID is not associated with any other AppleIDs.
Thanks! This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are many possible causes for it. Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. That could be a public Wi-Fi hotspot, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or at your ISP, not in your computer.
Step 1
Check the status of the service. If the service is down, wait tor it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
Step 2
Restart your broadband device and your router, if different. You may have to skip this step if you don't control those devices.
Step 3
From the menu bar, select
▹ About This Mac
Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or obviously invalid, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
Step 4
Take the steps suggested in this support article. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.
Step 5
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If the box marked SOCKS Proxy is checked, uncheck it. You don’t need to change any other settings in the window. Click OK and then Apply. Test.
The result may be that you can't connect to the Internet at all. Revert the change if that happens, or if iMessage still doesn't work. Remember that you must Apply any changes you make in the preference pane before they take effect.
Step 6
Select from the menu bar
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
and click
Block all sites from storing information on this computer
Close the preference pane.
Step 7
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.
Step 8
Boot in safe mode and log in. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.
If iMessage worked in safe mode, but didn't work when you booted out of safe mode, stop here and post your results.
Step 9
Reset the NVRAM.
Step 10
Reinstall OS X.
Step 11
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple Support. -
Anyone having issues with facetime fail on iphone 4 or macbook pro?
Is anyone having issues with facetime fail on macbook pro or iphone4?
Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page.

I receive an error message when trying to link my iMessage account to my Apple ID. My phone syncs fine, just my Macbook doesn't work. Same issue with Facetime.
HI,
In effect this is a DNS block.
You can do it.
You need to be in an Admin Mac User Account that has non blank password.
Go to the Applications/Utilities folder and open Terminal.
You should see your shortname (the one under the Little House icon) followed by the $ symbol
Copy and paste the bold text below into Terminal after the $ symbol.
sudo pico /etc/hosts
This will load the file "hosts" into and editor that works in Terminal.
Use the arrow keys to get to the line with Verisign in it.
Now type the # symbol and it will be added in front of the character that is highlighted.
The # symbol is either Shift +3 or ALT+ 3 depending on your keyboard layout
Now use CTRL and O keys together.
This Saves the changes.
Quit Terminal.

Facetime problem. am having issues with facetime on iphone 4. Have gone to settings and turned on facetime and it will work (have tested it and my partner can facetime me but no icon comes up on my phone and so doesnt link to any of my contacts
Oh boy! Acting kind of weird seems to be an understatement, aquaequus!
What type of troubleshooting were we able to do with you? I want to make sure that we can get some sort of resolution for this problem.
It is quite possible the battery door may get your phone in working order again. I'm not sure if the store has it in stock, but it is available in our warehouse for $14.99 which can be ordered via customer service.

Skype Sign In Issue with Nokia E5
Hi Friends,
I am facing skype log in problem in my mobile Nokia E5 where as via PC i can logged in successfully. Through mobile whenever i try to log in skype it shows skype sining and later on after few seconds it stop working. Plz suggest how can i resolve this issue with my Nokia E5 ?Hi kishor12345,
To further verify, are you using the internet browser when trying to access the Skype? If so, have you tried browsing the other website wherein you need to sign in your account first before you can proceed? In case that you are using mobile data, please use Wi-Fi connection instead. You may also restart your phone by switching the phone off, take the battery out, put it back in after a few seconds and switch your phone on.
Let us know how it will go. -

i am still getting a issue wtih my email sign in i have click twice on the sign in box . i am using the new bt home page both on w8 and the desktop and it does it on both email accounts my primary acc/ and sub acc. my sub acc email address i use to sign into my microsoft account. i have run bt desktop help pc heath check and it come back with cache size/clear history/ auto detect settings. so i clicked on the box to clear them and still got a issue with email sign in.
I have a large number of apps that show me what happens when accessing web-sites and when accessing BT yahoo I have had up to ---14--yes that's right--14 adverts blocked. Also in every case Yahoo is tracking you. These cause problems with the site. Since blocking them things have got better. I say this because I post on a popular US website which has multiple adverts including pop ups and video ads which badly effected the stability of that web-site-many complaints. Now its toned them down complaints have stopped. Try telling Yahoo to stop its ads and see where it gets you.

I'm trying to deploy a reverse proxy for mobile and external users, but I am having issues with the mobile client for android. It keeps saying "an unknown error occurred". Please try again.
I've got the log zip file outputted by the client here if someone could have a look and point me in the right direction? I've set
up server farms for the webservices, meet, and dialin.
Desktop clients can log in without any issue btw.

Intermittent Sign on issues with Discoverer 11g
Since migrating to Discoverer 11g, we have received a number of issues where Discoverer users can't connect to Discoverer and receive a invalid username/password, logon denied.
Everything is correct with the account and they are able to log in if they use another Browser. If they are using IE I have them switch to Firefox and if they are using Firefox I have them switch to IE or the other work-around is if I have them use the browser that is having the issue they go in to Private mode it will allow them to sign in.
This problem does not appear to be Browser specific or a Java version issue but it does seem to have something to do with the fact that most of the users having this issue saved their passwords in their browser when using the previous 10g version. Even at that I have had them clear out all of their cache including saved passwords and it has not fixed the issue.
Has anybody encountered anything similar?

Did you try to simply clear the cache ? and the saved password ?
also i think you should clean the java cache

Blackberry ID sign in issue with connection (os 2.0 beta)
Hi all,
After updating my playbook to latest version of OS2.0 beta, I cannot sign in with my ID niether in Settings niether in AppWorld.
It constantly reports connection error even I am successfully connected to wireless network. This is second day of being unable to sign in.
Any help will be appreciated.
ThanksI have been able to resolve the issue - the version of Blackberry Bridge installed on my 9300 phone was apparently too old, but the "check for update" function kept telling me that it was up-to-date.
What i had to do:
Reload Appworld
Allow phone to go through a security update (reboot)
Download new version of bridge (another reboot)
Pair devices -
I can now see full message content on emails that I could not before - hopefully this will prove to be a complete fix of the issue. -
Has anyone had an issue contacting someone through FaceTime? Sometimes when I try to call my Dad I get a different party ( someone I don' t know). This has happened when calling fro IPad (3) And IPhone 5s.
In the terminal I go to /volumes/some_folder/test and I type "chmod 4711 test" so that the C++ program will be run as the admin account I'm logged in with. This admin account has privileges to create folders in /volumes/some_folder/test.
I vaguely recall something about this - isn't it related to the execution of setuid scripts?
There's a whole discussion on the security implications of doing this. It's generally not considered safe.
It might be worth reading http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/suexec.html for details of how to implement setuid within Apache.
