Sign-in request times out during upgrade to iOS7
I have a 4s and just tried to upgrade to iOS 7. It wants me to sign in to iCloud as part of the setup, but the request keeps timing out. I'd prefer not to skip this step but don't know how to get past it.
I just had this happen on my development iPad and can no longer install with my existing development provisioning profile.

Dears,
I have a problem, each time i open any website from safari, and error pops up saying request time out!
What can i do?You will need to restore your iDevice from the same computer that you most recently synced to.
Read this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If you can't do the restore then you will need to try recovery mode.

I have tried raising the "Transport Timeout" value in " Admin > Collection Settings > Inventory > Edit the Inventory/Config Timeout and Retry Settings" to 480000 msec but no difference. Am I tuning the wrong timeout value or is there a known bug for this?Sorry for posting. I found I was changing the wrong timeout value.

My iPhone times out during syncing with iCloud
Hey PLabrozzi,
Has iTunes displayed an error message when syncing the iPhone? If so reply with the exact error.
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the computer and not plugged into the monitor, keyboard, or a hub.

My G4 times out during Software updates. I only have dial-up and computer times out after about 2 hrs. I then have to start all over again to try to download. Is there a download that will let me resume where it left off. Ex. a security update of 80 mb. times out around 50 mb. Please help if possible , I need these updates.
There are a few browsers out there which can resume the failed download
and not have to start over from the beginning; of course, since I've been
lucky lately, and my standard Firefox 3.0.16, Safari 4.0.2, Opera, & Camino
appear to work OK and not time-out, I am not sure if these offer that feature.
Most can pause a download and cancel it, too; before it is done.
The Safari browser (not sure if the feature is an option or plugin) is said to
be able to support the resume interrupted downloads function. The part of
the browser known as the 'download manager' in the download window is
often part of the key to resuming downloads if they are interrupted. See an
example of this as shown here. It should be familiar:
http://www.askdavetaylor.com/howto_resume_interrupted_download_apple_safarifirefox.html
Also, Cyberduck, a freeware browser for several platforms, offers this
function as part of its standard fare. Cyberduck: http://cyberduck.ch/
Under its Advanced Transfers feature, the promo write up says it can
resume both interrupted download and uploads. It is a 12MB D/L file.
Perhaps there is a dialup setting you can use to extend the time
sessions, so it won't time-out as fast.
Good luck & happy computing! -
My text messages will not send out since upgrading to iOS7.0.2.
My text messages will not send out since upgrading to iOS7.0.2. What do I need to do?
It seems Apple has a glitch with text/imessages in iOS7 and they are trying to fix it. Many people get it working again by simply restarting thier phone
For me, restarting the phone kind of corrects it for awile but then it starts doing it again. My phone gives no indication the messages havent gone out till after I restart it! Huge problem since I cant tell when it quits sending! I have to keep restarting my phone a couple times a day to make sure all my texts went out!
I also found this procedure but it also seems to be only a temporary fix much like restarting your phone.
Go to Settings and into Messages and disable iMessage. Go into General then into the Reset tab (bottom of the screen). Next, select Reset Network Settings, confirm the choice, and wait for the iPhone to reboot. Once the phone restarts, toggle iMessage back on again. -

Request time out when creating content database
Hello,
my problem is, that i cannot create a SharePoint content database via the central administration.
My Setup is the following:
SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise Farm
1x Applikation Server/WFE (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
1x Database Server MSSQL Server 2012 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
1x TFS 2013 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
all of them are hosted in the same Hyper-V Environment. It is not the fasted Hyper-V Environment existing on planet earth.
The weirdest part of the problem is, i am able to create a content database via powershell.
I am running in some kind of time out issue related to the IIS and CA of that Applikation Server.
Here is the ULS Log from the failling content database creation via CA

The fact that i am able to create a content database through powershell sorts out permissions problems. I am certain of that because the w3wp.exe and the powershell.exe used for both creations were run under the same user.
The timeout always happens aroud 120 seconds after i started the creation. The creation via powershell takes about 3,5 minutes.
Here for the folks that ask me, why i haven't asked google or bing or some other search engine.
I tried the solutions suggested here
http://www.sharepointpals.com/post/Error-while-Creating-Web-Application-through-Central-Administration , here
http://anthonyspiteri.net/sharepoint-2010-web-ui-timeout-creating-web-application-quick-fix/ and here
http://blogs.ibs.com/Duane.Odum/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=33
which i thought pointed me to the right solution.
But those post unfortunatly didnt worked out.
I also tried to alter the web.config files (i know that isn't recommended or supported, but it didn't change anything so those are back to normal as well)
So here are my question:
Can you guys help me solve this issue?
Are there any other places where timeouts can be managed or defined?
P.S.: I am new to using this forum. so pls don't crucify me for doing a mistake.
P.S.S: My english is very poor also :D
With best regards
SimonBe careful with settings like these because there may be a much deeper issue at hand. I have had an issue with a customer that manifests itself as a timeout on a site collection. It was very hard to track since it didn't happen frequently. We engaged Microsoft
Support to find out the root cause but all they could point at is a general network issue that pertains to authentication. After digging deeper, we found out that the network issue was caused by a saturated network connectivity to the domain controller that
impacts a site collection when the database is making an authentication call. Keep this solution as more of a quick fix but be sure to conduct a deeper investigation of the real root cause

My iPod was restored after being disabled. I am trying to sign into iCloud to load my back-up on the iPod. I can't sign in because the sign-in request always times out. Why is this?
If you do not have access to the primary email of the Apple ID then the only other option to reset the Apple ID password is by the security questions.
- go to https://appleid.apple.com
- select Reset your password
- enter the Apple ID email and press next

Request time out - zip file processing in sharepoint 2010
Hello All,
I have developed web part that uploads the zip package file and then programmatically zip will extracted and all files will uploaded to picture library.
If zip files are larger then it gets request timed out error..in production server.
Currently in web.config executionTimeout="600". I can not increase it on production server so comfortably...
However, with this same settings functionality works well in QA and dev environment.
How to find the proper justification for this... I do not have access to any of the environment.
Thanks,
Saumilif it will take long time it's better to do this process asynchronously using Async application Page , also you might need to check the request length as well
check the asynchronous page example

Hope that helps|Amr Fouad|MCTS,MCPD sharePoint 2010 -
Hi All,
We have completed developing application and now tries to validate and distribute my application to apple app store.
But i am getting error during validation and distribute the application, giving the error "the request timed out".
Its happening from last 10 days.
And my license is going to expire on Aug 26,204.
Please let us know possible solutionEven when you get your app successfully submitted, if you let your license expire it will be a moot point.

We have an iTouch running 2.0 and went to upgrade when prompted to 2.2.1. It times out every time. The time runs out right as it gets to 248.1 of 248.2 and I am getting pretty iCheesed. Can anyone help please? Oh, and if you can, will you?
Thankswhat are your firewall settings like? sometimes this can cause problems when downloading upgrades, try switching it off while you download (might want to try the same with your anti-virus software).

ExecutorService creating tasks to send HTTP requests - time out
In my java application, I have introduced ExecutorService to create tasks. The tasks consist of sending HTTP requests to an application server, to process transactions. The ExecutorService will process about 1000 requests.
The executor process the transactions and terminates OK, but some of the transactions timed out (before introducing ExecutorService, I was just sending one transaction at time, all the transactions were processed OK; but, it was taking a long time to process).
See the code below.
private ExecutorService threadExecutor;
threadExecutor = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(30);
threadExecutor.execute(transaction);
try
//Shutting down the ThreadExecutor
threadExecutor.shutdown();
threadExecutor.awaitTermination(30, TimeUnit.SECONDS);
threadExecutor.shutdownNow();
catch (InterruptedException e)
System.out.println("ERROR - cannot shutdown the ThreadExecutor - exception is: " + e);
Is this the best way to implement this use case?
Thank you.From the above code, it seems like you are starting only a single transaction in a thread pool. Or does the transaction object you pass to the threadExecutor spawn more tasks for the executor?
If you are indeed still making all HTTP requests from the single transaction object, then yes, it will 'time-out' after 30 seconds, since the ExecutorService was instructed to stop its threads after that period of time.
Your description of the use case is actually a good example of the usage of an ExecutorService, since it is faster to do 1000 HTTP requests in parallel than it is to do them sequentially.
Consider this:
ExecutorService threadExecutor = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(30);
for (int i = 0; i < 1000; i++)
threadExecutor.execute(new Transaction());
try
threadExecutor.shutdown();
threadExecutor.awaitTermination(30, TimeUnit.SECONDS);
threadExecutor.shutdownNow();
catch (InterruptedException e)
// Ignore
}This will spawn 1000 transactions that will execute in parallel, with max. 30 running at any single point in time. Any transactions still not executed after 30 seconds will be terminated.
Hope this helps.
