We are trying to purchase an upgrade for our OS. We continually get the prompt for our appleid and password. Our user id and password are accepted, however we are continually asked to verify it and cannot purchase anything. Please advise.

i've figured out what to do as no-one would help me either, but you really do need a computer.
You need to sync your ipod to any laptop or computer, then once it's all loaded, click the 'store' button at the top of the screen. Then click on 'View my account (Your email is here).
You do this, and then type in your itunes password.
This takes you to a screen which says with lots of options to review your account. The one you want is 'purchase history'.
It will tell you what you've purchased etc, and how much they cost. In red it says something about you owe a balance or something, anyway, there should be a box saying that you agree to it or something, and you might need to go to the option on the screen after you've put in your password that says edit payment information.
I'm really sorry, but i've forgotten the excact details.
So it's either purchase history, or edit payment information. You just click done at the bottom of the screen adn it's sorted!

Take the SIM out and reseat it. Was your phone jailbroken or unooficially unlocked? If so then when you upgraded the phone locked again to the original carrier. If that is the case you need a SIM from that carrier to use the phone or you could contact that carrier and have them unlock it for you

Sounds like the credit card you have on file is probably invalid/expired. You'd need to correct that or set the payment method to None.

Even though you can access Apple Support Communities, if you haven't tried, reset your Apple ID password from here > Apple - My Apple ID
When you can login successfully, click Purchases from the menu top of the App Store window. To re download previous purchases, click Install.
Previous purchases can only be re downloaded using the same Apple iD they were originally purchased from.

thanksThis is entirely normal, and is an extra security measure to keep your account details safe. Just enter your password and you should be taken to the account details page: I just checked this and it worked fine.

Cant figure out why my phone is asking for my billing information for a free application.
When i try to download an application, my iPhone keeps telling me to sign in to view billing information and it brings up my debit card information. Then it doesnt let me do anything, even when the applications are free. Why is it doing this?
Apple verifies your billing information with each download regardless of free or paid.
From the iTunes menu bar (on your computer) click Store / View My Account / Edit Payment Information.
Make sure your debit card number is correct as well as the security code and expiration date then click Done. -

I select the county and select done the screen loops for the county information.
*Things I have tried:*
- Updated billing information via iTunes on the Mac (Updates successfully) - but will still prompt for updates on the iPhone.
-Restarted iPhone (same)
-Erased iPhone and activated as new without restoring from backup (same)
-Contact iPhone support (no other advice then what happened here the first time) the second attempt at support has resulted in a call with iPhone and iTunes Support.
I will post back my findings, but has anyone found a solution.The only difference I noticed was that the card that kept looping was a visa check card, verse a credit card (mastercard). I am not sure if there is a problem within the iPhone application. I don't believe this to be an iTunes or App store problem because the account profile will accept the card information via a computer. This problem seems to be within the address verification process the iPhone/app store does only on the iPhone platform. Apple support and iTunes support seems to be clueless. My original post is the only way I've gotten it to work.

Im trying to update my apps and it wont let me. When i clicked on an app to update it or to download a free app it says "sign in required, tap continue and sign in to view your billing information" when i did it says "you must verify your payment info before you can makes purchases" then "security code is invalid" when the security code is valid. I even switched credit card it keeps saying the same thing....... THIS IS NOT FAIR........ I WANNA UPDATE MY APPS!!!!! Btw idk why did i buy the ipad for, APPLE dont even let you download ADOBE FLASH PLAYER and must of the games required ADOBE FLASH PLAYER to play example: wizard101. Idk what i was thinking...... :(

I can't access my gift card though the account balance is shown in window when I sign in to I store. When I try to purchase a song, site requests me to sign in for billing information. When I do this, it just keeps replacing the same window with same request. I even changed my password, thinking that would help.

Created an Apple ID, log into the Apple website just fine. Try logging into the iTunes store, and I'll get an iTunes pop up that says, "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." Well, I've reviewed my account information maybe five times now. It's asking me to review my billing information. After I complete the form, it tells me, "You have successfully created a Billing Agreement." I'll try and log into the iTunes Store and it'll tell me again, "Please review your account information."
It's happening to me too... I go through the process and use PayPal. I sign-in to Paypal and it says that the pre-pay agreement has been approved. I click on return to iTunes and it takes me to an itmss file that I need to download.. It's like nothing ever happens... Any ideas?

I updated my billing information, but it won't take the new credit card. AND every time I go back to Photo Shop to do my work it gives me the message to go to Subscription Manager over and over again, when I click on the Try Again sign. How can I proceed past it and do my work?

By 'could not sign up' and 'can not add my billing information' you mean ... ? Did you get any error messages ?
iTunes gift cards are an alternative way of paying for content from the store. They are not available in all countries and they are country-specific (they can only be used in their country of issue) - so they may not be available where you are, so you may not be able to fill that field in.
