Sign pdf document - no allowe new signature id

hi together,
i do have a workflow planned where several people should sign task cards on a pdf document (using acrobat reader version 9)
i would like to have the signatures for the people who will be allowed to sign the document to be created my own. the creation of new signatures should not be allowed.
when someone selects the signature id, there is the opportunity given to create new signatures.
is there any way that the creation of new signatures can be baned?
in advance thank you very much for your answer - Frank

thanks Simon ATS,
the only question is now how and where to disable the "create self sign id" function.
may be someone can give some additional help.
thanks in advance - Frank

  • How to digitally sign PDF document in VB?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if there was a way to open a PDF file and digitally sign the document (with the electronic signature info showing on the bottom of the last page) programatically?
    Thanks

    Where did you download the SDK?

    May be a problem of your browser.

    Look at the JavaScript sample AddSignature in the SDK.

    Is the camera working in other applications, such as Photo Booth? Does the green light come on in Preview?

  • Can IXOS (OPENTEXT) handle digitally signed PDF documents

    Hi All,
    we have requirement where we want to store digitally signed PDF documents in IXOS (OPENTEXT) server and view them using IXOS viewer.  I have tried to save one digitally sighed PDF but it was also password protected and I was not able to open it with the IXOS live link opener.
    Request you to share your experience or views on this.
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,
    Vithal

    hi,
    yes IXOS handlesDigitaly signed PDF documents,
    http://opentext.com/download/livelinkdownload.html?path=/corporate/investor/secfiling/FY2005Q4_10K.pdf
    Please refere tihis doc..
    The repository supports queries based on metadata, full-text index and even a combination
    of both. Another option is to render document content to a long-term format like TIFF or PDF.  Using
    digital signatures (time stamps) it can be assured that content cannot be modified without recognition.
    Hence clearly say's retrival or access doc need to enter digital signature which are preconfigured during DOC creation phase.

    How do I sign PDF documents on the MS Surface Pro

    I am not sure exactly what you did and what did not work.
    But you can ask question on the Acrobat's Security & Electronic Signatures forum to get help from the Acrobat experts.

    The detailed description of the problem and screen shots would be helpful to get answers.

    signature drop down menu greyed out. I believe it is because I saved the pdf document after placing a signature.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

    Do you mean the drop-down list that shows up when you right-click on the signature (in the Signature Panel or signature field)?
    I do not think that just saving a PDF with no changes would result in that unless you somehow flattened the PDF.
    Can you see the signature in the Signature Panel? Can you expand ([+] at left) the signature? Does the Signature Panel provide info for this signature? Is the signature validated? If "yes" then is the signature status Valid?
    It could be that when you saved the file you somehow flattened the signature, so that now you have only signature appearance in the PDF but not a real signature field which contains all signature properties. If the Signature Panel does not contain your signature (enpty if your signature was the only one) then this is the most likely cause.

  • Digitally signing pdf documents

    We want to digitally sign pdf documents that are generated in the printing service / AS. (rwclient is used on the client machines to access the printing service.)
    The digital sign should be on all generated pdf documents, with no intervention by the end users. The digital sign should hence be on behalf on the organisation, not the individual user issuing the pdf dokument.
    In addition we would like to lock the pdf documents in order på prevent manipulation of the content.
    Any surgestions on how to achieve this?

    Hello,
    You can create your own destination .
    An example is available on OTN :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/pluginxchange/index.html
    Secure PDF Destination
    This destination creates a secure PDF that is password-protected. This sample is tested with Oracle Reports 9i, Oracle Reports 10g (9.0.4), and Oracle Reports 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).

    Hello

  • Locking PDF but only allow further signatures & get the list of of changes made after signing

    Hi,
    I have looked at Adobe Acrobat 9.0 and found the Signing > locking feature which blocks any changes after the document is signed. I need to know whether using Acrobat SDK, one could implement a similar locking option via plugin in a way that it ONLY allows further blank signature fields to be created or sign existing ones and locks all other changes. If possible, any pointers to API functions would be appreciated.
    If the above is not possible using Acrobat SDK 9.0 then can the SDK provides a list of all the set of changes made after the signing is performed (at the time of verification) in the form of some codes which can guide the plugin author about what change after signing was done e.g.
    a blank signature field was signed
    a blank signature field is created
    watermark has been applied
    form is filled
    sticky notes/stamps/other annotations are added
    Regards,
    mwak

    Thanks for your response. I have just performed this:
    I signed a PDF ( having no prior signature or blank signature fields ) using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 and locked it. I am now not able to create more signatures on this PDF. I believe I can't add more signatures even using the Acrobat SDK and Lock means complete lock-down of the document. This is different to what you said " it restricts modifications EXCEPT for other signings" or may be I am not understanding it clearly.
    I created two blank signature fields. When I clicked on the first, there is no Lock settings at the time of signing. I believe because If it is locked then the next signature can't be signed. With only a single signature field present, the lock feature is there.
    So I believe I have to resort to the option of identifying the changes in a revision and then if it the change is related to say adding stamps, sticky notes prompts the user at the time of verification.
    Can some one point me to the API functions set which identify list the objects which have changed after signing.
    Regards,
    mwak

  • I'm trying to use my older Acrobat 4 for printing files from an older Macintosh with system 9, so that I can store and use the pdf documents in a newer MacBook Air, with OSX 10.9.  Acrobat 4 worked previously but no longer works.  Any way to fix it?

    I am trying to transfer older files from a Mac PowerBook G4, running system 9, printing those documents as pdf, using Acrobat 4.  Then those pdf documents will transfer to my newer MacBook Air, running OSX 10, allowing me to store and use them.  My problem is that Acrobat 4 no longer seems to work on the old Mac, and I don't know how to fix it.  Can anyone give me some suggestions?

    You never know, someone might remember. What happens in detail when you try to use it, and HOW are you trying to use it?

  • How to Create a PDF Document and apply Digital Signature in C# using the Adobe SDK?

    Hi Everybody!
    I have to do two distinct tasks here:
    1) How can I create a PDF document using the Adobe SDK in my .NET Applications(C# - 2.0)?
    I just need a basic sample to create a document with a simple text, for example. I did not find any useful information in the adobe documentation. I have the Acrobat Professional 8.0 in my computer, but it's very dificult to work whith de Acrobat.dll and .NET with a poor documentaion.
    2)How can I apply digital signature in a existent pdf document?
    I need to sign documents using the SDK, just a basic sample in c# would be helpful to start!
    Anybody could help?
    Thank in advance!

    Leonard Rosenthol or anybody that can help, sorry to insist.
    I will explain better my problem:
    I have an ASP.NET WebPAge (C# - 2.0). In this page, the user make a request. The request should generate a PDF document with the informations of the request and with a field to add a digital signature. The document created will be send to a approver that will confirm the approval applying his digital signature (I need to do too, a webpage where the approver open the page, choose the pdf document, and sign, just selecting his own certificate and clicking in the button SIGN... but this is another problem).
    That's the reason that I have to create a PDF document. If I create a WORD or HTML document, and then convert to PDF, how can I add a field to digital signature in this pdf document?
    Is there any solution using Acrobat SDK?
    Thank you very much!

  • Transforming signed XML document with namespace invalidates signature

    I am running into a problem signing an XML document. Well, signing the document isn't the problem, as I can sign it and then verify the signature with the public key successfully. The problem comes when I transform the document to a string. It all appears to be OK, but when I transform it back, the hash no longer verifies. After more testing, it appears that the issue is related to namespaces. When I remove namespaces from the document, the signing and transformations work just fine. Does anyone have any insight on this?
    Here is how I am transforming the document to an XML string that I and back.
        try
          signSAML( doc, assertionElement );
          xmlSource = new DOMSource( doc );
          baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
          outputTarget = new StreamResult( baos );
          xmlString  = new String( new ByteArrayInputStream( baos.toByteArray() ) );
          transformerFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
          transformer = transformerFactory.newTransformer();
          transformer.transform( xmlSource, outputTarget );
          boolean verified = verify( doc );
          if ( verified )
            System.out.println( "Verified" );
          else
            System.out.println( "UNVerified" );
        catch ( Exception e )
          // TODO Auto-generated catch block
          e.printStackTrace();
        }

    jtahlborn wrote:
    i'm not talking about the transform, i'm talking about this line:
    xmlString  = new String( new ByteArrayInputStream( baos.toByteArray() ) );which is a great way to break xml data.Yes. That's not the only kind of data it's good at breaking, either.
    To the OP: just have your transform output to a StringWriter in the first place. Don't muck about converting between chars and bytes unless you know the correct encoding and use it. Which you don't know it and you didn't use it.

  • Signing a document, generates a "Timestamp signature property generation error:    Verification error."

    I am getting this error message when I sign my documents. Especially when I try and create a second or third signature on a document.
    I have just upgraded to Reader11.0.09 and then when I got the error, I went back to Reader 11.0.08 and then back to Reader 11.0.07 but all are giving the error. The document gets signed but a pop up box shows the "Timestamp signature property generation error: verification error"
    I have the settings pointing to our timestamp server under Preferences > Document Timestamping  > Server Settings.
    Under signature verification preferences > Verification > Verification time, I have the "Secure time (timestamp) embedded in the signature" selected.
    It seems to work but is generating the error. If I open a new document and sign it sometimes it works without the error. Occasionally it produces the error on first signing. Mostly on second and third signatures on the page..
    Any ideas?

  • Where should the Green Tick get displayed in digitally signed pdf files in whom the Signature has been validated ?

    I have Windows 7 & Adobe 11 installed on my P.C (Apart from other Software) . Recently I downloaded Digitally Signed .pdf files & validated the Signature with Trust Certificates . However , the Green Tick Mark is coming on the left-hand side of a blue panel situated in-between the menu bar & the document . Shouldn't it be coming at the bottom right side of the document (Just above the name of the signatory) ? Is there anyway I can get the green tick to display at the bottom right side of the document or is this just the way the green tick gets displayed in current versions of adobe reader ?
    This is the way it gets displayed on the top - left portion of the screen :
    However , it does not get displayed in the below manner :

    First of all, you need an app on the iPad that can read those files that you want to transfer. Adobe Reader and iBooks are two free apps that will read PDF files. Adobe Reader is much more robust than iBooks as it offers so many more features like renaming files, creating folders, annotating, highlights, etc.
    Download Adobe Reader in the App Store. Then read this about file sharing with iTunes.
    iOS: About File Sharing - Support - Apple
    There are other ways to get files to the iPad, like email, DropBox and some other apps that let you mount your iPad like a flash drive.
    This should be helpful as well.
