Sign Up Forms

I provide give away trial versions of a Digital Download (SketchUp models) on my Muse website.  I created a hyperlink on my website and it works OK.  People can click on it and download the file.  But I would like them to register their name, email and address, and tick a checkbox saying something like " I hereby agree to not redistribute it etc. etc. and submit the form before accessing the free download.
How do I do this?
Ive had a look at Wufoo and Mail Chimp and I cant seem to work out how to do it.  By the way, I dont want to pay for another monthly service
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

I must have misunderstood your instructions Ju because I tried it and it didnt work.  I used the Contact form, and "Link to File", used the same file as the above mentioned hyperlink (which worked ok).  Now the contact form is on the website, but when the "submit" is clicked nothing happens... ie no download. It does send an email containing the users details though.
I'll try it again and see if I can get it working, but its probably not a great solution anyway, because the users email address can be bogus.  And if someone has to write something in a box to indicate their acceptance they could of course just write anything.
Sorry to be a pest but is there a better way?  Maybe I could somehow autorespond to a form submission with an email with the file attached? (for free )

  • How do I create an email list sign up form for my iWeb website?

Well that's the question - how do I create an email list sign up form for my iWeb website?
Could someone tell me what's the simplest way using iWeb to create an interactive option
for users to enter their email address and the info be forwarded to me so I can add to an
    email list?
It would be great if, since I'm using a Mac computer & iWeb, there was a way to have the
submitted emails automatically added to a group in my Mac Addressbook.
I got this MacBook Pro in Sept 2010 so I believe that's iWeb '08 I'm using.
Anyway I'm thinking there should be a way to do this with some system involving an HTMK
    Widget and an email account.
By the way this is for hosting through a 'real server', not MobileMe (which I plan to get later
    when I can afford it).
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Mark

Website forms require some code in a snippet and a formmail.php script on the server to process the form and send the info to the required email address. You can do all this when you switch to a "real" server.
In the meantime you can use a form  or marketing service or, better still, an application like MailShoot which generates the form, handles the database and sends out the bulk emails.

  • Can you create a form in which its never possible for the same person te sign the form more than once.

Hi, I've been looking into this for awhile and believe the answer is 'no' but was just wondering if anyone here would know of a solution.
The company I work for has a formulier on which a number of Excel files are placed. This form is then sent to a five (often different) people who are then required to open the Excel files and if accord to place their digital signature. We would like to make sure that no one is able to sign the form more than once and also if possible to make sure they have opened the Excel files. It would be great if anyone had any tips...
    All the very best,
    Martin Angell

I am not an Excel or Excel-to-PDF conversion expert, so I do not know how Excel forms are converted to PDF form fields. With this caveat here's what I do know.
In Acrobat It is possible to create a PDF form in which there are JavaScripts associated with fields (any fields, including signature fields). These JavaSripts can do a lot of things, including checking the signer's certificates on the already signed signature fields. Then you can make all unsigned signature fields read-only, in which case the user will not be able to actually sign them. After that you can overlay a button field on top of each unsigned signature field with exactly the same dimensions and associate a JavaAcript with this button field. This JavaScript would put up an UI asking the user for the signing certificate and its password, check this certificate's CN against the list of already signed signature fields and initiate the signing of the unsigned signature field behind this button if your condition is satisfied.
I never tried that myself but it could work. This looks complicated and it is but if you really want it you can try.

  • How do I remove the digital signature option on Adobe Acrobat 7.x? I don't want it, but it pops up every time I need to sign a form, and I cannot find a way to remove

I created a digital signature to sign forms using Adobe Acrobat 7.x. I really don't want or need this feature, but do not know how to remove it or keep it from popping up every time I need to sign a form. Can anyone help? I'm not that technically savvy, so please explain in layman's terms. Thanks!

It's not clear to me what you're trying to accomplish. If you get rid of your digital ID you will still be prompted to create/add one when you need to sign a form, which you say you still need to do? Do you really just want to e-sign (hand-drawn signature, or stamp) instead of digitally sign? Do the forms you're using have digital signature fields?

  • Signing a form without a signature field

We use the certify method of the SignatureServiceClient as described in
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/programLC/help/index.htm?content=000898.html
Because we simply want to sign the form, we create an invisible signature field and pass that to the certify method.
This seems to be a long way around and is in fact causing us problems with the layout.
Question: Is it possible to sign the form not using a signature field?

    Peter
That's odd, as it is possible to certify a PDF (without a signature field) when using a process created in Workbench.  You would think that the APIs would function the same, unless the CertifyPDF operation in Workbench creates an invisible signature field as part of the certify operation.
You could check with Adobe Technical support to confirm.

  • Newsletter sign up form works in Firefox but not IE??

Hi, I have a website I am designing using dreamweaver CS3 and I added a newsletter sign up form using a 3rd party code. The form on the website looks perfectly fine in Firefox but the form fields are not present in IE. Does anyone know why this may be happening? The site is www.physioworks4me.com and I apologise in advance for my coding as I am just learning and not very good at this yet. I took the code that was supplied for the sign up form, opened up a brand new 'plain' html doc in dreamweaver, pasted the code and tried it. It seemed to work fine in both IE and FF....but when I use my template for the webpage I made, it will not work. I am using a XHTML page, could this be a problem with the javascript used for the sign up form? Thanks in advance for your help...

The first suggestion you'll receive from most here is to clean up your code
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.physioworks4me.com%2F&charset=%28detect +automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
Also, you may have quicker results changing to a HTML Transitional doctype.

  • Submitting a Signed PDF form in Workflow

    Hello,
Is there anyone experienced submitting signed PDF form in workflow?
We have tried to use a PDF form designed using AFD 5.0 along with AWS 6.2 to automate the approval process. But when the initiator signs the document, using the signature object, and then submit it, the next participant will get the form with empty signature filed.
Additionally, when you sign the form, you get the green check mark, then when you submit the form, it seems that the submit will change the data in the form and the green check mark will convert into gray question mark.
    You help is highly appreciated.
PS: anyone there used Biometric Signature tools (such as CyberSIGN, CIC, or SoftPro) to digitally authenticate signers/signatures in PDF forms/document and used it in a workflow or web applications?
    Regards,
    Yasser

If you have access to Acrobat, it would be possible to set up the form so that an automatically generated unique identifier is include in a (hidden) field so you could identify multiple submissions from a particular instance of a form. You could remove all but the most recent record from the response table to keep the summary reports current. If you'd like more info, post again.

  • Cannot sign pdf form

I create a pdf form from word to a pdf fillable form.  I can sign this form.  After I save the form as reader extended pdf form.  I cannot sign the form.  How can I fix the problem?

When you say "sign", do you mean digitally sign or add an e-signature, which can be a hand-drawn signature? If a document is Reader-enabled, the EchoSign e-signature functionality is not available, but it does allow digital signatures if enabled with Acrobat Pro, as opposed to Standard.

  • Entering your email twice on sign-up forms

I have a sign-up form for membership for a client, and they

on-page validation in CF or simple technique for this that doesn't

Hi Al, have you ever used Persona before? If not, it might be easier to set up your Persona account here: https://login.persona.org/
After setting it up, what will happen when you sign in with a Yahoo account, at least for me, is that a Yahoo window opens and you sign in on Yahoo's form. Then you are sent back to the Persona window.

  • Looking for a good method or APP to have client sign a form in a text box

I am looking for a good method or App to take an existing form/Document and have a client sign, date etc.  I will want to create the text boxes in a stationary location.  Possibly to also take a picture to add to form.
Has anyone used any apps to accomplish this?
    Apps I have tried.
    Signnow
    Sign PDF
    Sign Easy
Sign Easy is about the best except the signatures (text boxes, dates, etc) are free floating and confuse people where to add them on form each time.  Clients have no clue how to use it.
Any suggestions would be helpful.  I may be over complicating this also, as there could just be a PDF app that I utilize.
    Thanks,

  • Submit signed pdf form to url returns to local view of url

    Hello,
I am currently using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8, Adabe Acrobat 9 Pro and Adobe Reader 9.
I want to make a form that can be filled and signed with Reader. I created the form with the the designer and added a submit button that sends the page to a URL. I send the page as an PDF to the url.
I can create the form so far no problem. I also can make it fillable in the Reader. Filling in the form and signing in the Reader also works fine but when I perform the submit the result page in the browser isn't the url specified in de settings of the button.
The url is something like this: C:\Users\jt\AppData\Local\Temp\A9R9D46.htm
The content of the page is the one from the web page specified in the url where de PDF is submitted to but it has to be show in the specified location and not local in a temporary html file.
Does anyone know how I can go to the url specified in the submit button not locally but on the actual web page.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

Acrobat Pro allows users to export the form data a number of different ways. For example, in Acrobat 7, use the menu item "Advanced > Forms > Export Data from Form...". There are also various JavaScript methods that allow one to export a data file (e.g., exportAsFDF).

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.09 - some certificates no longer accepted for signing PDF forms

After installation of the patch 11.0.09 of Adobe Reader some certificates are no longer accepted for signing (not enlisted in list of certificates) when clicking the sign fields of PDF forms. The forms were created using LiveCycle Designer.
Is it by design or is it a bug? If it is by design, what is the change, which caused this behavior? We are facing the problem, when our users are no more able to sign the request forms using their client certificates.
The example is on the following screenshots.

    Hi Milan,
Yes, there has been some enhancements in this domain, You may check the release note of 11.0.09::  11.0.09 Planned update, Sept 16, 2014 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes
