Signal and carrier problems

I have an iphone 4 and when I turn it on it just says searching for signal it doesnt say no signal or find the signal. At first I just thaught it was searching for signal and couldnt find it but out of hours waiting for it to work I realised there was a problem. This has happend a number of times and I am looking for a solution.

check your volume settings, if thats not the problem reset the phone first a soft reset then a hard if soft fails to work.

Well, it could be that your carrier doesn't have a signal when it looses its signal. You could try resetting network settings which might help - Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings. You'll need to set up any wi-fi networks you connect too again. If you're still having issues, contact your carrier.

Blackberry wont send/recieve calls and texts. Net apps and BBM working fine. Not battery, signal or credit problem.

My phone wont recieve texts or send SMS or phone calls. Have tried on many peoples phones, on different networks.
Have had this phone a couple of weeks. It was working fine until yesterday, now suddently when I attemp to call it says 'failed' and when i send tects they do not send. It wont recieve calls and tects from people who have tried in the same room.
I have this sim card years and have never had a problem before.
Untill yesterday I could call, text and recieve both just fine.
My BBM, app world and internet are working.
It is not a battery problem, it is charged.
It is not a credit problem, i have both free and actual credit.
it is not signal problem, the phone shows high signal, and other people on same network are working fine.
I have looked up simular problems, and attempted the solutions. Taking the battery out and resarting the phone does not change it, regestering the phone and sending service books did not fix the problem.
I have Blackberry Curve 8520, on Tesco pay as you go.
Any solutions? Please include instructions - i do not know how to find out what OS i am running, so if this is part of the solution please advise.

Phone, SMS and MMS are all services supported by your wireless provider. Considering all of these features are not working, I would recommend contacting them to find out if there is a problem with your account or their services. BlackBerry features, such as BBM, BlackBerry App World, etc all use the BlackBerry network and thats why they are still working.

Apple TV worked until today. Message says unsupported signal check your output device. I have checked hdmi cable with another device and it's fine. Put on a different tv and same message. Went out yesterday and bought a new Apple TV and same problem.

You may wish to try the following:
Press and hold the menu and the up button simultaneously on the remote for six seconds, the Apple TV should then begin to cycle through the various resolutions available to it at 20 second intervals.. If you see a picture appear up on your screen, use the remote to scroll down to the OK option and select it.

Problem when combinning PWM signal and Analog signal TOGETHER!

Hello everybody,
first of all i have DAQmx 6212, and i need to run a small water pump (9V-16V) which needs to be driven by a PWM signal; also i have a motor (5V-13V) for a water valve that needs to be driven by a analog signal and it has a built in a force feedback potentiometer, i connected on the extremeties of this potentiometer +5V from the DAQmx and used the output voltage from the third extremety as a diagnose value for knowing the position of the motor.
my VI shows:
1. is a normal Counter output to create my PWMout signal.
2. is an analog input i use it as a PWMin to the LabVIEW to diagnose what is happenning in my water pump through the duty cycle and the frequency.
3. is an analog input from the third extremety of the potentiometer.
4. is an analog output which i have used as a power supply for the motor valve and i have used an AC/DC amplifier to aplify the signal from the DAQmx and drive the motor, between (3. and 4.) i have made a feedback with some calculations i had a P-controller to know the actual position of the motor valve.
My Problem:
when putting 1. and 2. in the same VI alone, i am getting a clean PWM in/out with no problems mentioned;
also when putting 3. and 4. in the same VI alone i can control the motor valve without any problems;
but when i put all these 4 together as found in the attached VI, i have a problem that the motor valve is running continously without stopping even if i change the valve position between 0 and 100 %, i should mention that i am seeing a normal PWM out/in signal on my oscilloscope, one other thing that if i delete one of (1. or 2.) and run the VI the motor valve is working fine without any problems.
so this my problem, if you can think of any solution please let me know.

i have ran the vi again and i am have error no 50103 from the (AI, number 3. ) but it is not displaying the error message, the VI keeps running without any error notification.
adding to that, i have tested the VI again today by placing (1. and 2.for the PWM inout) together in one VI and (3. and 4.for the motor valve) in another VI and ran them one after the other, i had another problem. if i turn the motor valve vi, the motor will run smoothly but in the pwm vi i will have a problem in which the AI did not read any value. also doing this vice versa by running the pwm vi first it will work perfect but the motor vi will have problem in reading the measured voltage in AI during this the motor will keep on running without stopping.
so i think now the problem is in AI (2. and 3.) readings they are interfering on each other but i am not discovering where is my problem...
Q: does the AI's seems well build or i can do it in an another way so to get over the interfering?

Presuming you get the chime, most of your Mac hardware is working and has passed the first part of the power-on self-test.
If the screen comes on, basic graphics is working.
The dark gray Apple is not present inside the Mac -- it must be loaded from a boot device. If the dark gray Apple appears, at least one of your boot devices has some capabilities. The flower petal/gear moves while Darwin is initializing and loading. If it stops immediately, something is terribly wrong.
When the screen turns blue, Mac OS X has loaded and your graphics card transitions to Interrupt-driven operation. LoginWindow task draws the login screen, and Mac OS X is ready for login.
What could be the problem depends on where in the process it stops, and whether the power light is blinking.

If you buy a phone from Apple online from USA you must have a credit card with a US address and have it shipped to that same address. If you chose a carrier it will be locked to that carrier. You must buy an UNLOCKED phone to use outside of the US, for the unsubsidized price. For unlocked phones you don't need to choose a carrier. the iPhone 5 is not yet available unlocked; only the 4S is sold as unlocked by Apple.
If you buy from the US Apple site you must return it to the US for warranty service.
LTE is the "next generation" cellular network standard. It is supported in the US by Verizon and AT&T.

AM demodulation and carrier phase measurement of multiple signals simultaneously

Hello All,
I need to extract and compare the carrier phases from a number of
medium wave AM signals using a 5600 downconverter and a 5122e
digitizer. The signals are all real off air broadcasts, and so are in
the band 500kHz to 1500kHz. Since the transmitter frequency references
may all drift I guess the most sensible way to do this is to filter and
mix each signal down to the same IF and track their relative phases.
However I'm not sure what clever tricks can be done with current
Labview vis. I've had a dig through what I have (I have the modulation
toolkit amongst others) but can't use the features based around the
5660 due to my hardware. I can see the signals where they should be on
a spectral plot, but have not had much luck getting sensible looking
results using mt_niscope_demodulate_am.vi. I am currently tuning the
5600 to 15MHz rather than attempting to tune it to central frequencies
around 1MHz, I presmue this is the right thing to do? Could someone
point me in the direction of some good starting point? Any suggestions

Hello Ramsey,
I assume you are trying to capture these AM signals and compare their relative phases all against each other. Sort of like saying the AM 1300 carrier is X degress in phase different from the AM 1530 carrier.
This is what I would do. I would use the full PXI-5661 RF analyzer and capture the entire AM band in the acquisition. This is roughly a 1 MHz bandwidth. At this low bandwidth, a low IQ sample rate can be used with the PXI-5661 (1.25 MSamples/sec gives the PXI-5661 a 1 MHz IQ data BW). With this low IQ rate, you could actually stream the entire AM band to hard drive for some time.
Since you have recorded the AM band to disk for a period of time, you can extract all the relative phase information you want. And the receiver reference is the same for all acquired data so the only variation will be due to the Tx side.

Big carrier problem in Germany and maybe in other countries (Tethering)

This goes to Apple!
Here in Germany there an 3 big SIM provieder (Telekom, Vodafone and O2).
They have their own official signed carrier from Apple.
What has to follow, if you dont have the right contract, you cant use features like personal hotspot.
Thats ok, but here are many other reseller, witch use the networks (AND carrier profiles) from telekom, vodafone and o2.
That reseller allow things like personal hotspot, but the carrier profile from the big bro provider cancle that option
and i cant edit the hotspot APN, cause its faded out.
The only one who can do something is Apple cause the carrier dont have interests to support other companys problems.
Anyway Apples first step was to create carrier profiles and ther second was to sign then.
Apple, please note that many people in the whole world dont like postpaid contracts (look in some statistice), cause many
prepaid reseller have better options.
What can i do without Apples support?
1. The easiest thig is to buy an other mobile phone with less restrictions
2. Jailbreak the iPhone
3. Live with this pain
Please Apple, let the user edit the whole network settings! Please!

in germany there are 4 carriers tmobile, vodafone, o2 and eplus.
and we have a lot more (50++) reseller which use thier network.
e.g. my last provider was "FONIC" and they use the o2 network.
o2 does not allow everyone tethering. only for customers with the right contract
but i was able to tether (FONIC) cause o2 has (i think) a more flexible carrier profile sent to apple.
ok and now i am at EDEKA, a resseler that use the network of vodafone.
EDEKA allows tethering, but i cant edit the apn cause the iphone use the vodafone carrier settings which
are very restricted.
if i call apple, they say call your carrier.
if i call EDEKA, they say call vodafone.
if i call vodafone, they say its not our business.
this is a pain produced from apple.
btw. this thing "paid tethering" exists only at apple. if you have any other branded device
you can edit the apn and use tethering. why not? you have paid for the traffic and it doesnt matter how
you use it.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Carrier problem on iPhone 4S

Hi,
I need help with this. My iPhone 4S constantly switches from the carrier name to some sort of code. I used to have an iPhone 4 and it didn't happen. What should I do to fix this?
I have a friend who has the same problem with the 4S in my country. I'm from Uruguay. It switches from ANCEL to 748-01.
The main problem is that everytime the phone switches I lose signal and if I'm in the middle of a conversation it's like I hang up.

Your carrier does not support the iPhone, which is why you are charged for the iMessage activation SMS. There is no way around this except to switch to a carrier that DOES support the iPhone. Meanwhile, just turn off iMessage in settings. It clearly is not economical to pay for an International SMS to send a local text message.
The phone is switching carriers because 748-01 has a better signal. This is not an iPhone issue either; it is a carrier issue. You can go to Settings and disable automatic carrier selection, then choose the carrier you want to use all the time, but if you roam outside of that carrier's coverage you will lose all mobile service.

How to input/output a digital signal and acquire an analog signal at the same time?

and when I use DasyLab to input or output a digital signal is no problem also, but when I do that at the
same time, DasyLab tell me the rate is too high and stop.

To internally equalize measurement time and system time in the analog input, digital input and counter
hardware modules, use the following settings:
   Synchronization: PC Clock
   Sampling rate: <= 5Hz
   Block size: =1
the problem is, if I set the Sampling rate to 5Hz, the speed of the acquirement datas is not enough for my
application.

Have things changed over the years?
I need to syncronise a digital output (Modul NI9474) and an analoge input (AI-Modul NI9203) module. I need to measure time intervals from a flank in signal A to a flank in signal B. I would like accuracies of the order of 1 ms. Currently, the signals are not synchronised, with errors of the order of 2 times the block length (block size x sample rate), sometimes much higher. The best I got so far was a block size of around 20 with a sample rate of 1 kHz.
If I use the master and slave settings on the RTSL settings, my program doesn't run properly.
If I use digital signals for input and output, I can syncronise them with RTSL settings and everything is good, but I can't always do that.
Also, if I do anything in the GUI (such as scrollowing something or going to another window), my output gets screwed up properly.
1. What can be done to synchronise AI with DO?
2. Is there something that can be done to avoid messing up the output when something happens in the user interface? (I know that I am messing up the outputs as they make some valves switch and that is loud).

How can I select the time values of a signal and connect them to the y-input of a divide command?

I have an analog signal connected with a threshold peak detector. The counted peaks shall be divided by the total time of the recorded signal. My problem is, I don't know how to connect just the the x-values, i.e. the time component of the signal, to the divide command. I have no idea how to "split" the signal so that I don't have the whole signal but just the time in seconds as an output of the measured or filtered signal sub-VI, respectively.
Does anyone have a hint?
