Signal booster for iPhone 4 in Japan

Does anyone know what I can do to boost my signal in Japan. I have a softbank iPhone 4 and at home the signal is terrible. I have heard of booster antennas you can buy. Can anyone recommend one or a solution?

If you were on AT&T, I'd say go get yourself a micro-cel. I don't know if Verizon has such a thing. you'll need to ask them about it, but I have not heard of a CDMA micro-cell.
Are you having problems placing or receiving calls? or are you just concerned about the low number of "bars". If you're not having a problem with calls, I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Signal booster for iPhone / AT&T domestic service

I have an iPhone 3G but live in a small town in NH, where AT&T wireless signals are poor. Does anyone know about any sort of signal booster either for the iPhone itself or which can be set up in my house to better pick up an AT&T wireless signal? Thanks.

ATT has announced a microcell booster. You'll have to contact your local ATT office for pricing and availability.

  • Signal booster for cell service

Seeing if anyone has any suggestions on this one.  We have iphones.  We WERE on ATT, which has horrible service where we are.  So we purcahsed a Micro Cell tower when we had ATT numbers.  But then we decided to go to another service, except this service still USES the ATT towers. The Micro Cell ONLY works with ATT phone numbers.
So now that we have different numbers, the Micro Cell is no longer any good.
Does anyone have any suggestions what brand SIGNAL BOOSTER we could get that would be good for ANY SERVICE, not just ATT??
    Thanks

Thank you so much for trying that out claymeijer,
This is definitely an odd one! Let's deep dive in to this and make sure we cover all bases. Please ensure that you've added your numbers to the contact list via My Verizon. Here are the steps: http://vz.to/196jt5g
Also, please ensure your router has  current firmware. This can be checked by visiting your routers website.
If issues persist, we would want to connect you to our Network Extender department.

  • Signal Booster for iPhone4

Can anyone recommend a signal booster to enhance my Verizon iPhone4 phone and data signal in "fringe" areas?
When camping in some areas of the Adirondacks in NY, I can only get one bar on my iPhone.  Internet is extremely slow if at all.  Can someone recommend a signal booster device (either with an antenna I can mount on a travel trailer or a free-standing enhancer) that can attach to my iPhone to boost its reception?  Thanks.

dougunruh, Welcome to the discussion area!
Another square 802.11b/g/n AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) can extend the wireless network using 802.11n.
You could use a round 802.11b/g AEBS or AX to extend the network but it will be using WDS and 802.11g. Also using WDS will cut the wireless bandwidth to half (27 Mbps).

  • What is a compatible signal booster for the ipad?

There are a number of signal boosters for cell phones.  A few of them advertise that they work with aircards.  Does anyone know if there are signal boosters compatible with the ipad or what specifications I need to research?  It would be good to be able to access verizon when I'm traveling if I need a boost in signal.
    Thanks for your input.
    Alan

There isn't one, and there won't be one. Apple and Adobe could never get a flash player that worked. And now since Adobe has ceased all production on mobile flash, there won't ever be one.
Your best alternative is to explore the app store for browsers that support flash and see if one of them will do what you want.

  • External  signal booster for Airport extreme card

I'm trying to find a solution to boosting the signal receiving capabilities of my Apple 15" Powerbook G4 with an Airport Extreme Card.
I live in an area that receives several WiFi non-encrypted signals, which my Airport can detect (weakly), but I need to boost the signal that the airport receives.
Let me make this clear, I am not attached, or connected to ANY router, or DSL system, I am only receiving open WiFi signals.
I need to find a signal booster, or directional antenna. (I’d rather not crack open the Power Book to attach the hardware).
I’ve looked at several 3rd party options i.e. Linksys, Netgear, Hawkings, D-link, most do not support Mac ( so often)
I currently use a Hawking Tech directional PCI wireless card 802.11 B/G mixed mode. It works well enough with Mac, but it is often buggy, and yes I do turn of Airport when I use it. But I’d rather use the built in Airport with an external booster. I’m open to suggestions, Mac or 3rd Party, though the ‘Pringles can’ doesn’t work. thanks

  • Screen protector signal issues for iPhone 4?

I've been having the same problem with my iPhone 4 for a while now. The phone is perfect otherwise but on most occasions while using the phone i've been experienceing a loud crackling noise when making noise when making/recieving calls or no sound at all (no ringing and can't hear the other person speaking) however the speakers/mic work fine..
I've had a matte screen protector on the front of my iPhone ever since i've started using it and just recentley removed it and the phone is working perfect with the crackling/no sound problem gone! I have perfect clairity when making calls!
I was just wondwering is this possible that the screen protector could have caused this? To me I believe it has as the issue is now gone but my family don't think this is the case as it doesn't sound very likely a piece of plastic could do this?
Also if anyone could suggest a screen protector that could help prevent this from happening again I'd be very greatful. I think I might have to trial and error but some suggestions on where to start would be appreciated! My previous protector that I believe caused me this problem was the Power support HD anti-glare film ser for iPhone 4
    Thanks in advance!

It's hard to believe a screen protector can cause such a problem, I still think it's tricky to blame the problem on your screen protector.
Maybe you could try some super thin screen protector and see if the same problem  would happen again. If it does, then it's definitely something wrong with your iphone.

  • Wireless range extender or signal booster for Mac OS 10.9 ?

Hi, I have a new iMac 21.5 in, running OS 10.9.5. I have tons of storage capacity, 8 GB memory, and its very fast.
    I have two questions:
1.the little one is, why does this message pop up sometimes on this site:
" ! You are not allowed to create or update this content." ? When that happens, I see no explanation to help me fix the problem!
    2. The bigger question I have is:
can anyone suggest a device I can purchase that would strengthen my land's wireless signal so i have decent internet?
I am renting one of 13 cottages on a small parcel of land, and mine is the last in a string of renters all sharing the same wireless signal! So I get the last dregs after everyone else's gaming, streaming, etc etc.
It would need to have a working driver for Mac OS 10.9 available for it, as I am currently running 10.9.5, and would like to continue upgrading the OS software whenever it comes available.
I know hardly anything about how all that internet config stuff works, and I don't even know exactly what i should be looking for— extender? booster? adapter? etc….
But I need something soon, as right now my hands are tied, and I can only do anything at all on my old windows PC!
    Thanks for any advice!!

Extending a bad signal will give you a bad signal.
If the cottages share electrical power you could try powerline adaptors. Otherwise run cables.

  • Best signal booster for airport express

Need to boost the signal in my house for better coverage. I have a model A1264 Airport express.
What is the best and easiest way to increase signal coverage without having to to move the location of the airport.
    Thanks,
    JJ

Add another AirPort Express and configure the setup to "extend a wireless network". Keep in mind that you will need to locate the new "remote" AirPort Express where it can receive a strong signal from the "main" Express.
Apple's instructions for this setup are here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4259
The example pictures two AirPort Extreme devices, but the set up for two AirPort Express devices is exactly the same.

  • Data for iphone in japan

I'm have a Verizon iphone5 and will be traveling to Japan.  I'd like to have data access while there for navagation primarily.  Can I have my phone unlocked and get a data plan with a Japan carrier when I arrive there?

You can get both voice and data, but you will not get data at LTE speeds as the LTE bands supported on the iPhone are not the same as those you'll find in Japan.

  • Signal Booster Discussion

In my home the signal switches from 3G to 4G LTE as I walk around with my iPhone 5a. Has anyone used a signal booster with good success? I am considering one to gain 4G LTE all of the time. I am located in a rural area so I am also thinking about the potential that it will become my home internet service too. Please let me know of personal experiences with signal boosters and bandwidth issues for Internet browsing.
    Thanks,

Take a look at this - this is an booster or repeater rather than an extender. It would work in the situation where you have a decent signal outside in a location, but not consistent indoors.

  • Where can I buy a cellular signal booster?

I have little or no reception on my iPhone, and most calls are dropped or never get through.  I have to go outside in the street in order to get enough reception to place a phone call.  Yet, the Verizon coverage map shows my area as having excellent coverage !
Where can I get a cellular signal booster for my home?

You could try a network extender. Signal Boosters Accessories - Verizon Wireless

  • Is there an antenna booster for wifi for ipad???

There is no such thing for the iPad AFAIK.  You could, however, get a signal booster for your wireless router.

  • Best home/office cell phone signal booster

Can anyone recommend a cell phone signal booster for the 4/4S?

Sure.  If it's for a car, that's easy. If it's for a home or office, answer the following:
What carrier or carriers do you need to support?
Over how large of an area do you need to boost the signal?  One floor or multiple stories?
How strong is the signal strength outside of your home/office (Ideally on the roof where you'd need to mount the outside antenna)?
With that information, it's possible to figure out what signal booster would be best for you.
