Signal booster that works ???

my signal was not bad here at my home, but lately I am dropping calls like crazy.  Is there a signal booster that really works ?

Its very frustrating to be getting dropped calls. We do have a device called a Network Extender to extend coverage at a person's home. Please click here to see FAQ's about the device.
Have you tried updating the cell towers the device looks for? Please dial *228 option 1 to program. When did the dropped calls start happening? Please PM me and i will troubleshoot your device and area to see if this could be resolved without buying additional equipment.
Thank you

  • Is there is signal booster I can use to get better reception for 3G on my ipad? My reception is between 1 (which doesn't work) and 3 bars and it never reverts to Edge. Thanks

Hi, I'm new to this new format for the forum so I may make lots of errors.
My 3G IPAD only gets between 1 and 3 bars when I use 3G at home which is a lot. When its at 1, I can't use my IPAD online at all. I have the original IPAD, 16G, with 3G. My operating system is 4.3.5.
I called Apple support and they connected me to ATT and they didn't know what the problem was. I told them it didn't revert to Edge and they said that's because it can't find the signal. They said I could get a new SIMS card if it didn't work in town but yesterday I took it to town and it got between 3 and 5 bars so I didn't pick up the SIMS card yet.
So I was wondering if anyone knew of a signal booster that will increase the 3G signal so at least it stays off of 1 where I can't use it. I use this mostly at home because my internet connection keeps dropping too so I rely on my 3G 50 percent of the time.
Or does anyone have any other ideas?
    Thank you.
I used to be mpoinar but that account is no longer accepted here so I had to create a new one. sigh.

Hi, I just watched the video for the Microcell and you have to use your broadband connection to get it to work and the problem is my broadband connection is down the times I'm using my 3G. That's why I use it, because my broadband connection is not working so much of the time.
    Any other suggestions? :-)

  • Which is the latest EE Signal Booster?

Hi there, I am looking to purchase an EE signal booster of eBay for use at home as I live in a basement flat so have very limited signal. Could someone kindly let me know what is the latest model of signal booster that EE has released, as there appear to be 3 different types of EE signal boosters on eBay, so am unsure which one is the latest version. I have tried to place links to the three different types on this message, but not sure if they will show properly: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTE4WDYzNQ==/z/z5IAAOSw-vlVgxDN/$_1.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwM1gxNjAw/z/4-YAAOSwBLlU6yhV/$_1.JPG http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/maJplz3X4rb_1sHq7DEUUNA.jpg If someone could kindly send me a picture, so I know what the latest version looks like as well that would be wonderful. Kind regards,James

    Hi,
They will not work as they are tailored to the individual customer I believe
I also believe they belong to carrier.

  • Navigation that works for a8-5500 and how to fix GPS signal

Found out that these navigation systems works fine with at 5500-f tablet:
    Navigon.
    Route 66.
    Sygic.
    iGO Primo.
If you now of others that works (TomTom, Navfree etc), please let us know
However, the A8 5500f and other tablets from lenovo seems to have a problem with the GPS fix. It takes forever to acuire a decent signal. There is a soloution to this problem:
    A) Have WI-FI ON, if possible.
    B) Launch the navigation, eg Route 66.
    C) After some seconds, turn off WI-FI.
    D): Ready!
This procedure will allow the navigation to download the assisted GFS. But it seems like the WI-FI, when ON, is making it difficult to reciewe a clear gps signal. If no WI-FI, it will take a minute or so to reciewe a clear GPS signal without A-GPS.
There is also a third solution. Download a app that is keeping GPS alive all the time. Like ActiveGPS - GPS booster or so. This will allow you to keep WI-FI ON all the time. How much batteri that will eat up, i dont know.

    Hi,
When you stram from a bin file repeatedly, it will run first time but will lose lock because when it comes tothe beginning of the file, its time suddenly jumps and the receiver does not accept this. For example, lets say your bin file is from GPS time t1=0 to GPS time t2=30000s. When you loop back around the file, the time increases from 0 to 30000 and then jumps back to 0 and that is not acceptable by receiver. You will need a direct streaming from 5671.
I can put that up for you soon if you want.

  • Signal booster app not working

hi .i just downloaded the signal booster app on my bb curve.it debited money frm my visa card and also sent me a confirmation email but when i try to run the app it keeps asking me to upgrade to pro version .can anyone advise me on what to do to fix this problem

The Blackberry phones have excellent signal management. No matter what software you run, it is impossible to get more signal out of the RF power drive circuits than what is available for both receive and transmit.
Fortunately these programs are not very expensive, so its not a great loss.
A number of months ago, I tried a program that was supposed to make the Blackberry phone take night pictures. This night vision software is a gimmik. All it does is makes a sort of green casted B&W picture. It uses some process to reduce the look of the noise from low light, which in turn softens the picture quaility. It allows for multiple exposures of the same frame to be overlayed to try to increase contrast.
In the end I found the built in night mode of the phone's camera did a better job at taking night pictures.  I lost $2.00 with this software. No great loss...   I treid to contact the author. He never answered, and I am sure he is getting hundreds of complaints.

  • Is there a device to use to boost the verizon signal so that I can get more than1 bar on my JetPack?

Is there a device to use to boost the verizon signal so that I can get more than 1 bar on my JetPack in rural Tenn?

Beyondrural, I understand that you need reliable coverage. We sell network extenders http://bit.ly/AKkC for home use, but this wouldn't be feasible for a network extender as you would need cable, DSL, or FiOS internet. Are you having problems only inside your house or the whole area? If inside your home, you may also want to consider HomeFusion http://bit.ly/SEW00I as it includes a cantenna that sits on the outside of your house. What city and state is this?

  • I am trying to find a portable cell phone signal booster

I am away from electricity and there are too many spots where I need a signal boost in order to do my work.
Does anyone have any recommendations for anything that I can use to boost my iphone signal so I can use Siri easier to dictate but runs on battery power and not an electrical outlet or car charger?
    Thank you.

    @macnpchz
There no portable cell boosters available, but you can ask your cellphone provider about mini towers for your home.  If you have AT&T, they use MicroCell.  I currently use this at my home and I love it.

  • Vga signal booster

can you buy a vga signal booster to allow the mac mini to work on any crt monitor?

It seems to me it would be better and make sense to just buy a computer that actually worked right out of the box without needing a VGA signal booster. Wait until next week to see what new stuff Apple releases at Macworld.

  • IPhone signal booster

I previously posted regarding my new iPhone 3Gs and poor reception in the house. Contacted AT&T, as well as Apple (who by the way were much more helpful than AT&T). Was told to investigate the Wi-Ex ZBoost YX500/510. I did, and purchased the unit. Was delivered today. Couldn't wait to connect and begin to experience the wonders of a new iPhone!!
Following the instructions in the manual (yes, I read those) - I connected the antenna, mounted it to the highest place outside my house where my "naked" phone received the best signal. Ran the cable into my house and placed the unit on a table in my office.
With the unit "on" my phone immediately went to 5 full bars where I had 1, perhaps 2 before - but only if I am within 10 feet of the base unit.
Move around the room and the signal drops to 2 or maybe 3 bars.
Walk upstairs and the signal drops to 1 bar or "Searching" and then "No Signal".
Standard house, frame (2x4) construction - nothing special.
Is it simply impossible to get a good signal indoors with one of these phones? Am I to resign myself to using Verizon forever?

    Thanks for reporting your results!
Oddly, feedback on this topic is rare!
The boosters are all way over priced, IMHO. So, I Zboost is an attractive option and has the most sensible accessories.
I bought the YX-500-CEL which is only for 800 MHZ cell phones.
It comes with the external antenna and 50 feet of coax cable.
I placed the antenna on high outside the house and put the booster in the foyer of my two story house. It works best with line of sight and not more than 30 feet from it.
You can easily move the inside antenna, too, if that might help get it closer to where you use your phone. The front door is more central in my house.
BTW, my house is all stucco and the metal lath and foil insulation pretty much blocked signals from inside my house. I was surprised how few calls are dropped and how long my batter lasts, after the installation.
I have yet to find one that works as well in a car.

  • Signal booster box

My Vodafone contract runs out soon and I'd switch to BT mobile but reception here is poor so I'm using Vodafone's SureSignal box that works fine. Is there anything similar available from BT? I've seen a suggestion it might be incorporated into a new HomeHub at some point but no date.

I was about to post near enough the same query. My contract with Three ends in late May and I would like to switch to BT Mobile (unless Three can offer me a deal similar to or better than what I have now, which I am doubtful of, given that I am currently on the now discontinued Ultimate Internet rate)
Though my area is supposed to get decent 3G coverage, my building in particular has always had a poor, almost non-existent mobile signal. Three provided me with a free Signal Booster box soon into the start of my contract, which plugs into my broadband router and gives me an exceptional mobile signal in my home.
I would like to ask BT if they would be able to provide a similar device to what David and myself have now should I sign up to BT Mobile next month. It would be kind of a deal breaker for me personally, as I never use my landline to make calls, so I need a good mobile signal at home.
I would be willing to pay for a signal improvement device, so I hope those in charge of BT's Mobile division will implement this assistance to customers in poor coverage areas if they don't already. Before anyone suggests I go on BT's website and enter my postcode in coverage checker, I have done this already, like I have done with all the major mobile networks, and as I say, the majority of them say I can get good 3G in my area, but I can assure you that, for whatever reason, I do not!
Please reply to this thread with any details on signal improvement that you can furnish us with. Thanks :-)

  • Signal booster for cell service

Seeing if anyone has any suggestions on this one.  We have iphones.  We WERE on ATT, which has horrible service where we are.  So we purcahsed a Micro Cell tower when we had ATT numbers.  But then we decided to go to another service, except this service still USES the ATT towers. The Micro Cell ONLY works with ATT phone numbers.
So now that we have different numbers, the Micro Cell is no longer any good.
Does anyone have any suggestions what brand SIGNAL BOOSTER we could get that would be good for ANY SERVICE, not just ATT??
    Thanks

Thank you so much for trying that out claymeijer,
This is definitely an odd one! Let's deep dive in to this and make sure we cover all bases. Please ensure that you've added your numbers to the contact list via My Verizon. Here are the steps: http://vz.to/196jt5g
Also, please ensure your router has  current firmware. This can be checked by visiting your routers website.
If issues persist, we would want to connect you to our Network Extender department.

  • Signal Booster Discussion

In my home the signal switches from 3G to 4G LTE as I walk around with my iPhone 5a. Has anyone used a signal booster with good success? I am considering one to gain 4G LTE all of the time. I am located in a rural area so I am also thinking about the potential that it will become my home internet service too. Please let me know of personal experiences with signal boosters and bandwidth issues for Internet browsing.
    Thanks,

Take a look at this - this is an booster or repeater rather than an extender. It would work in the situation where you have a decent signal outside in a location, but not consistent indoors.

  • How do you go about getting signal at your work place?

    Hi,
None of the verizon customers at my work place get any signal at all. However, other providers(ATT/T-mobile) all have signals.
Can verizon provide a signal booster or anything for that matter to get us some kind of signal?
We are located in Pasadena California.

This could be an option. http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/samsung-network-extender-scs-2u01/

  • What is a compatible signal booster for the ipad?

There are a number of signal boosters for cell phones.  A few of them advertise that they work with aircards.  Does anyone know if there are signal boosters compatible with the ipad or what specifications I need to research?  It would be good to be able to access verizon when I'm traveling if I need a boost in signal.
    Thanks for your input.

There isn't one, and there won't be one. Apple and Adobe could never get a flash player that worked. And now since Adobe has ceased all production on mobile flash, there won't ever be one.
Your best alternative is to explore the app store for browsers that support flash and see if one of them will do what you want.

  • External  signal booster for Airport extreme card

I'm trying to find a solution to boosting the signal receiving capabilities of my Apple 15" Powerbook G4 with an Airport Extreme Card.
I live in an area that receives several WiFi non-encrypted signals, which my Airport can detect (weakly), but I need to boost the signal that the airport receives.
Let me make this clear, I am not attached, or connected to ANY router, or DSL system, I am only receiving open WiFi signals.
I need to find a signal booster, or directional antenna. (I’d rather not crack open the Power Book to attach the hardware).
I’ve looked at several 3rd party options i.e. Linksys, Netgear, Hawkings, D-link, most do not support Mac ( so often)
I currently use a Hawking Tech directional PCI wireless card 802.11 B/G mixed mode. It works well enough with Mac, but it is often buggy, and yes I do turn of Airport when I use it. But I’d rather use the built in Airport with an external booster. I’m open to suggestions, Mac or 3rd Party, though the ‘Pringles can’ doesn’t work. thanks
