Signal From a Desktop lash application to the COM port

How do I script to connect /send a signal to the COM port of
the PC from a Desktop Flash application.
The Signals can be variables such as "1/2/3/4" . The signals
will be send on a corresponding click in the flash application. For
eg: if I click button "A" in the Flash application, it sends a
signal "1" to the COM Port. If I click the Button"B", it send the
signal"2" to the COM Port.
Please advise if it can be done directly or through a Third
Party software.

  • Since upgrade to Windows 8, cannot save .rdp files under the Remote Desktop Connection application on the Desktop

    Since I upgraded to Windows 8, I am no longer able to save individual Remote Desktop Connection files as .rdp files. I am talking about the traditional Remote Desktop Connection application on the Desktop that was in previous Windows versions, not the
    Remote Desktop App from the Windows 8 store.
    When I try to click on the Save button I get "An error occurred while saving to file"
    When I try to click on the Save As button I get "Unable to open connection file" with the file address being where I tried to save it with the file name at the end.
    Also when I upgraded to Windows 8, my .rdp files disappeared from my Documents folder.
     I need to create different .rdp files for different programs that my employees get into on my server. Now I have to hand type all the info each time into the Programs tap on the Remote Desktop Connection window, because I can't save to an
    .rdp file.
     I like the Remote Desktop App from the Windows store but it won't let me designate specific programs to use using standard dos notation (ie c:\program files\ etc..). It just goes to my server desktop.
     I want to promote Windows 8 to my employees but I need either .rdp files for the traditional Remote Desktop Connection or the ability to open specific programs using dos notation in the Windows Store Remote Desktop App.

    You don't need to worry too much about what's in here. Save the text file as
    filename.rdp then rightclick on the file and select edit. The familiar GUI rdp session editor will open. You can make changes in the GUI and
    save or save as a different session.

  • File Upload from a desktop java application

    Hi,
    what I want to achieve is, to upload a pipe-delimited text file from my desktop java application to my hosting server, and then on the server, I have a PHP page that would parse this file and insert records to the database.
    so, on the server, I can enable write access on the folder which I want to upload the file to,
    but how do I upload a file from my desktop application.
    Thanks

    HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection) _url.openConnection();this code open a http connection, and what is left is to fill in http protocol things (e.g. content type, content length, POST/PUT or whatever method...etc). after you set the correct request header then open a output stream and pass your files and flush the connection then close it.... in theory (never tried sending files, only done handling POST http form requests with it but it shouldn't be too much different when it is http protocol)
    you may want to install Fiddler2 into your browser, it can filter out the browser outgoing and incomign information and you can take a little read in their header and see how they interact with each other

    Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

  • How to close the COM Port ??????????

    Dear all :
    I have written an application that send AT commands to a modem , Once I opened a com port , i don't know how to close it . I got the null pointer exception when i create a new channel , because the inputStream and outputStream is owned by the previous channel . So , some one can teach me how to close the com port that opened before ?
    my source code for open port :
    public void Connect_Com(CommPortIdentifier portId) {
    Integer i = new Integer((int) (Math.random()* 1000));
    String channel = "channel" + i.toString();
    System.out.println(channel);
    try {
    System.out.println("preparing to open port");
    serialPort = (SerialPort) portId.open(channel, 2000);
    } catch (PortInUseException e) {}
    try {
    inputStream = serialPort.getInputStream();
    System.out.println("getting inputStream");
              } catch (IOException e) {}
    try {
    serialPort.addEventListener(this);
              } catch (TooManyListenersException e) {}
    serialPort.notifyOnDataAvailable(true);
    try {
    serialPort.setSerialPortParams(9600,
    SerialPort.DATABITS_8,
    SerialPort.STOPBITS_1,
    SerialPort.PARITY_NONE);
    } catch (UnsupportedCommOperationException e) {}

    serialPort.close() ?
    From the documentation of SerialPort:
    - SerialPort extends CommPort.
    - CommPort.close() closes the communications port.

  • Can the Com port on the EX90 be connecting to an AMX NI700 to receive command?

    if so, what are the pinouts for the EX90? (TX/RX/GND) The AMX uses pin 3 for TX, Pin 2 for RX and Pin 5 for GND. I have been using an RJ45 cable and trying to match pins but I am still not getting a TX signal. Also, does the COM port need to be enabled?

    The EX90 is not really build to be controlled by an additional control system.
    (in general thats a thing for the integrator prodcucts).
    The Serial port is not a RS232 (+/-25 Volt), instead of their using TTL level.
    So a direct connection without a proper cable might cause a hardware fault!
    I think the serial port was on by default, but that might have changed on the current software versions, thats what works fine for me:
    xconf // serial
    *c xConfiguration SerialPort BaudRate: 38400
    *c xConfiguration SerialPort LoginRequired: Off
    *c xConfiguration SerialPort Mode: On
    The serial port is also on the bottom of the device, its ok to use it if you need to
    troubleshoot boot issues, but besides that not really usable.
    Dont expect Cisco to do any support for this if you run in to strange behavior when
    controling the system with a 3rd party control.
    Btw, what I would strongly recommenced is to use the telnet/ssh cli or http(s) API.
    could picture that this might work with the AMX700, so why even think of using a serial port, ...

  • Communicating via the Com port (comm)

    Hi Folks,
    I'm trying to communicate to the com port on my device but apparently can't "see" any available com ports.
    Actually I'm trying to communicate via the Infrared port on my device and have been able to do so on a Nokia using COM0, however, on an Orange SPV, no ports are available. I'm using the Connector class from GCF.
    I've used
    System.getProperty("microedition.commports")
    and on the Nokia get a load of ports back, however, on the other device I get back null. The device does have a IrDA port so I feel like I should be able to access it, I just don't know how.
    I wondered if there is other ways to get hold of a port?
    Reading http://developers.sun.com/mobility/midp/questions/properties/index.html it implies that the above property is implementation specific, does that mean Midlet Manager implementation specific (the SPV device uses Intent Java).
    Thanks for any suggestions or any tips / links on IrDA / serial communication with ME :)
    Cheers,
    Toby

    Start with the NI modbus library.
    http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/201711
    Or download portmon and use it to watch the data as modscan is working. Then use VISA and serial port commands to transfer data bytes until it matches what modscan is transmitting. You'll learn more doing it this way.
    Also download the modbus protocol pdf file.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Windows 7 is not officially supported by National Instruments as it hasn't even been released. That means you won't get any official support from NI on this.
    That said, does your computer actually recognize a serial port? Do you have an actual serial port, or do you have some sort of virtual COM port, or are you using some sort of adapter, such as a USB to serial port box? If it's any of the latter, the most likely reason is a driver issue which needs to be written to be compatible with Windows 7.

  • Using VISA and RS232 devise , loosing the COM port .

    Using VISA and R232 devise communicating fine with labview and I can  Read and Write.
    however, I want to turn OFF the devise, then turn it ON again (part of the test), and be able to continue .
    The COM port is not communicating . unless I turn both the devise off  and Exit  LV then restart again.
    How to do that without restarting LV.
    thanks

    " Is there a better way to make sure its closed and driver is not hanging onto the connection? "
    you could try a command like " devcon disable usb\vid_0CD5*0003~" and then "devcon enable usb\vid_0CD5*0003~"
    ( you will need to figure out the ID of your device, my example is for a LabJack U3. )
    Get the devcon.exe-utility from microsoft.
    but as mentioned before, just watch what happens with device Manager (' run devmgmt.msc')...
    to enable/disable a device in a VBS script you can use below example,   (As Administrator!)
    Option explicit
    Dim oShell
    set oShell= Wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    oShell.Run "RunAs /user:Domain\USER ""cmd"
    WScript.Sleep 100
    oShell.Sendkeys "USERPASSW"
    WScript.Sleep 500
    oShell.Sendkeys "devcon disable usb\vid_0CD5*0003~"
    WScript.Sleep 1000
    WScript.Sleep 100
    oShell.Sendkeys "devcon enable usb\vid_0CD5*0003~"
    WScript.Sleep 1000
    oShell.Sendkeys "exit~"
    Wscript.Quit
    My reason for doing it this way is that my USB device didn't respond to any of my calls from Labview. Enable/Disable solved the issue...
    The thing I particularly hate about above VBS-script is that I need to send the Admin password in plain text...

  • Extreme Base station can't extend signal from Mini desktop ?TCP/IP settings

    I have a Mac Mini connected to DSL via a lynksys 8 port workgroup switch. I had 6 rooms in my house connected to the router by ethernet wiring. Worked great for several years. Now 2 rooms cabling seems to have gone bad (mice or squirrels, maybe). To avoid rewiring the connection outlets or pulling wire again (Ugh!), we bought an extreme base station. It transmits the internet signal fine when connected to the ethernet network (roaming), but I cannot get it to allow clients to access the internet in WDS mode.
    The base station is in a central location where there is not an ethernet jack. It picks up the airport signal from the Mini (with extreme card and yes, I have the MAC address of the Mini chosen).
    Internet connection is "shared" on the Mini and the laptops have no trouble accessing internet within close range of the Mini. The laptops can't access the internet through the base station. I suspect it's how the TCP/IP is assigned. I have tried every possible combination in the Airport Admin Utility.
    In the WDS diagrams, it always shows 2 or more Base stations, never a Desktop and a Base. Are these incompatible?

    ...but can't figure out how for the Mini....
    When you select "Share your Internet connection with AirPort-equipped computers," click AirPort Options to give your network a name and password.
    Since they are the "same" network does it matter?
    If one has no encryption or is using weaker encryption it will be the weak link for others to access your entire network.
    Normally, if you want to seamlessly roam between the 2 wireless networks, ensure that they are using the same network name (SSID), same encryption type, same encryption level, and same encryption password. However any wireless device connecting to the Mac mini's network will be on a separate subnet.
    Now I've got to figure out how to get files off the Office Desktop from the laptops, should I set up afp for airport or ethernet?
    Enable Personal File Sharing on the Desktop.

  • How to send short message services(SMS) from PC desktop to Mobile  with the

    sir, i want to know " how we can send the free SMS from PC desktop to Mobiles? this is my project part of final year project and till now i m in confusion. what r the various tools and technologies will be in used for implementing the SMS system. In fact, i m a new user of wireless java. so, pls give ur valuable hands for this topic.

    First of all PC as a "stand-alone" machine does not have ablity to send SMS since there is no necessary hardware in it. You can achive this in two ways: first, connect your mobile (method depends on model) to PC and use it to send SMS. Ofcourse it won't be for free - mobile owner will have to pay for it. Second way involves using so called "SMS gateway" provided by GSM suppliers via internet. Most of them, at least in Poland, are well protected against using by machines.
    This is all I know about it. Hope it helped in some way
