Signal to noise ration for the attached signal
Hi every body
any one can help me to find the signal to noise ratio of the attached signal, and how to convert it to frequency domain. I know it is easy but it is not working with me since the power must have a main amplitude at the fundemental frequeny which is 1Hz and I cann't find any component there.

It sounds so easy - all you have to do is separate the signal from the noise, measure both, then take the ratio... Of course, if we could do that, we wouldn't have to worry about SNR in the first place!

This is exactly the procedure and LV provides the tools to do it. But as always: first one needs to understand the task, then the tools. We have to worry about SNR because it inevitably spoils the signal, not because it couldn't be measured.

The point was to show that it is very easy to go down the wrong path if you have no guidance. For instance, the OP painted themselves into a corner by believing that they needed to separate the signal from the noise to measure each, but you explained the real world, correct way to do it. I was just pointing out the subtle flaw in the logic that if we could separate the signal from the noise, we wouldn't need to measure the noise because it would be irrelevant.

How do I set a noise print for the entire track? (Back to Basics)
Ok. I've only worked in STP with single audio clips. Now, I'm trying to adjust audio inside a Multi-Track project sent from FCP... and it's a little different. At least to a guy like me.
I'm struggling with the most basic issue, and that's possibly why I can't find an answer to it.
Simply, "How do I go about setting a noise print for an entire track?" I've done this for a single audio clip, but now that I'm in a slightly different environment my old ways don't work. I've looked through video tutorials hoping to find something but no luck.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
JSWith the audio opened in SoundTrack Pro, select (highlight) a small portion that only contains the noise that you want to reduce. Sample that section. then select the entire audio clip and use the Noise Reduction tools to reduce the noise that you sampled earlier.

Setting icon for the attachment
Anyone know how to set the icon of the attachment?
I have no problem sending attachment (in this particular case of *.xls files), but the email I received using NOTES shows a default grey box with the correct file. Tried using NOTES to send Excel attachment, and it showed up with a nice icon indicating Excel file. How can I do the same? Thanks in advance.I have had a similar problem and have not been able to determine whether the problem is related to Windows XP Pro, Lotus Notes 5.0.11, or Microsoft Office/OpenOffice. A search of the Internet turned up a number of related issues (attachment icon is missing/invisible, etc).
The Java program I use to email attached files used to work without any problems, but sometime after I moved to an XP workstation, installed Open Office, and applied XP Service Pack 1, the attachment icons (at least for some file types) became invisible. I can't help suspect that the problem lies in XP or Office, but I have not been able to determine that for sure.
FWIW: A suggested workaround (from the Lotus Notes forum) is to change your screen display from 32 colors to 16 colors. This has helped make the attachment icons visible when sending mail from Notes, but it has not helped the Java Mail attachments become any less invisible. Maybe the next step would be to go to a monochrome display? -

As you may have noticed, and the likely reason for this post is that that spec is not readily available for the PXI-5600. You will however notice that the overall phase noise of the system is noted and my suspicion is that even though the 10Mhz reference helps improve the overall phase measurement, it won't necessarily dictate the measurement. I can ask R&D for this spec but they will likely inquire the need for this specification. Do you intend to use an external source instead of the built in reference?

How to set content type for the attachment?

I was trying to do the following in my send mail program:-
1. I am making a file using FileWriter:

fw.write(str);
2. I now want to attach this file with my mail. but before that I want to set the Content type of this as "application/smil". and trying the following code:
mimebodyparts[0].setContent(fds[0],"application/smil");
As this is a new MIME type perhaps I need to change the mailcap file. I found the same in the activation jar package but thought instead of chagning the default file i tried putting following code in my program:

How do I set the mime type for an attachment to "application/zip"
I'm sending out an email with a zip file as an attachment. The following code works fine, but the Mimetype for the attachment is set to "application/octet-stream"

I would like the mime type to be application/x-zip. Unfortunately I seem to need a data content handler for this mime type as I get this exception.
javax.activation.UnsupportedDataTypeException: no object DCH for MIME type application/x-zip
Building a date content handler in the activation framework seems like a lot of work to do a very simple thing. Am I missing something obvious? Is there a simple way to do this?I found the solution after much chasing around. The default mimetypes file that comes with the activation framework does not list zip.

No matter how many times I click on "download". However, I can open IE, go to MSN and then to my hotmail, open the email with attachment, click on the "download" and it will download and open. Why won't this work with Firefox?

Check control signal and write in 1s, ignore control signal for the following 2s.
I am new to Labview, recently I use DAQ to receive 2 channels, one is expected signal and another one is control signal. If the control signal is higher than threshold (rising edge), write expected data in 1s. Then, ignore the control signal in 2 second. The process is repeated. The attachment is my program but it doesn't work. I use flat sequence to do 2 consecutive tasks but cannot ignore the control signal.
Any help is appreciate.

Probably not. It sounds like the Keithly VI is taking 140 msec. You can try opening that up to see if there is anything in there that could be causing an unnecessary slowdown. But trying to tighten it up too much may cause occasional errors (such as timeouts) in trying to get a response back.
But surprisingly I tried displaying the actual timer value at the start and at the start of sourcemeter read function ..but the display of both indicators is almost equal with little difference of only 10 msec.????? I'm not sure which of the several timers you are referring to here. What is the value going into the wait function between the VISA write and the Keithly VI?
When you do benchmarking, the timer functions should be in a frame all by themselves. Having it mixed with another function or VI causes a bit of uncertainty as to when the time was taken. For instance, you dont' really know if the Keithly VI was started before the time was taken or after. (The time was probably taken first, but without a data flow or sequence structure dependency, you can't be sure.) -
I have a 16GB 3GS phone since about20 months now. For the last few days, my phone is constantly giving me message that the accessory attached to my phone is not optimized for this iphone. You may experience noise or poor communication, while there is no acessory attached to it. I always used standard headphones and charging cable. Now when i recall, it started at one of the sync sessions with my itunes. I have turned my phone off and aon again and again but the message keeps coming every one or two minutes.I have also started loosing voicce on different applications like youtube etc. Also the ringer volume up and down key does not show me the small boxes increasing or decreasing on screen. The phone is playing crazy. Can someone help please

ZiaIt helped earlier but it has come back again. I don't know what to do. I tried what you said earlier but this time even this is not working either. And quite intrestingly my phone won't turn off. I turn it off, it goes off and then restarts on its own and then keep giving the same message again and again.
Could it be a charging cable, is there any chance that the cable which was working fine one day could turn to be "incompatible" with iphone the other day????????

How many airport express can I add to my network for the purpose of using the airport express to send audio signal to different rooms in the house? I'm interested I'm running about six different zones.
What I'm looking to do is to have self powered in ceiling speakers in every room in my house with out having to run wires to every room to carry the audio signal. I would like to use the airport express to do the job of carting the audio signal.
Here's my set up now I have an airport extreme and one airport express that I use to carry audio to one room.FWIW. I have used up to four AirPort Express Base Stations (AX) for streaming sucessfully in pretty much the way you have described. I didn't have a need to try more so I can't attest that more would or would not work.
