Signatures fields on formscentral forms - Declare an interest here to add this feature

Every single question regarding signatures in this forum generates the same genric response from adobe - "forms central does not support signatures......"
I cannot belive there is not the ability within Adobe to add this feature to a piece of software who's name includes the word "Form". This is a fundamental requirement of most paper forms; to validate the data/information contained within it. When you fill in a (paper) form and send it to someone, you usually have to sign it!
I would like to see a signature, either digital or electronic (drawn) added to the field items available when creating forms, or importing pdf forms.
Who else would like this feature added?
If enough interest is generated, please Adobe, can you look to add the feature?

I'll be one to disagree, and say that it's not terribly important, nor is there any way to verify who is filling out your form unless you have it behind some sort of authentication "wall". And even if you've done that, the only thing you can verify is who got the respondent up to the point of filling in the form... not who actually filled it out.
If you want to have some tiny level of assurance of who is submitting the data, have the form responses sent to the e-mail address of the respondent, with the instructions that they must then forward that e-mail to you from their work, school, or other known/verified e-mail account.
Unless you have a form which is served from a secure site, and the form is able to verify responses or ask and verify unique information that only you and the respondent would know, there is no way to be 100% certain of who filled in and submitted your form. If you need that level of verification, you should look to another product or process.

  • Can I insert a signature field in adobe forms??

    - Using a template in adobe forms and wonder if I can collect a signature ID?

Formscentral does not support a signature field type at this time. If you need a signature you might look at our Echosign product or perhaps creating and distributing your form in Acrobat.

  • Forms - Why are fields blank and how to add a signature field

I created forms using FormsCentral and saved the PDF and I'm not collecting responses.  I have clients fill out the form and email back to me.  Some forms come back blank, making me think the person didn't fill out or save the form correctly, but when you put the cursor in the field you can see the information, so the form is totally useless.  Why does this happen and how can I prevent it from happening?  I read online about turning off the "Highlight Color" in the Form Preferences but this doesn't work.
The second question is about adding a signature field to a form created using FormsCentral.  I couldn't figure out how to do it.
    Thanks,
    Eileen

FormsCentral doesn't support digital signatures. You can add digital signature fields using Acrobat, but you'll have to collect the forms outside of FormsCentral.
The blank field problem is most likely due to people using Preview on a Mac to fill-in and save the form. Preview corrupts PDF forms and other types of PDFs in a number of ways and should be avoided. What you can do with such forms though is to open them in Acrobat, export the form data to an FDF or XFDF file, open a blank form, and import the form data you just exported, and save. If you exported the submission-enabled PDF form from FormsCenrtral, you will have to remove the usage rights in order to import/export the form data. You do this in Acrobat by selecting: File > Save A Copy

    Hi friend,
Its not like that the Adobe created using SFP is non interactive.
We can create interactive forms using SFP transaction using java code.
I think it will be the problem with ADS just check with your basis people i think they will configure you the settings which works fine.
To check whether the settings are perfect you can try executing the standard programs FP_TEST_00 and
FP_PDF_TEST_00. If it works fine then some other problem exists else check with your basis team.
Just check this and revert me if you have any issues. I will help you

  • Adding digital signature field with LC Designer vs. LC Digital Signatures

    Hi All,
When digital signature field named "SignatureField1" is added to PDF document using LC Designer it appears as "form1[0].#subform[0].SignatureField1[0]" in Adobe Reader signatures tree.
Same field added by LC Digital Signatures service appears as "SignatureField1" in the same tree.
Why? What is the difference between those objects?
    LC Digital signatures ES2
    Adobe Reader 9.3.0
    Thanks, Yan

    Yan
First off, there is no difference between the two signature field objects.
I'll do my best to explain why there is a difference in how the signature objects are named in the Signature pane of Reader\Acrobat.  When you add the signature field using LC Designer, the object is defined in the underlying XML (XFA) that defines the form.  The  (SOM expression) you see in Reader (via the signature pane) matches the structure of the form.
When you add a signature field to a form using LiveCycle Digital Signatures ES2, you are appending a signature field "on top" of a PDF form (the underlying XML has been rendered into PDF).  The signature field is not defined in the XML, therefore Reader\Acrobat do not display the same naming syntax.
    Does this help?
    Thanks

  • Cant edit or remove signature field

I accidentally added a digital signature field to a form I was making. Now I cant select it, or delete it from the form. Is there any way to get rid of it without starting over?
I looked in the hierarchy, and structure views and its not listed there. When I preview or use the form its there plain as day right smack dab in the middle of my form.
    Im using live cycle 8.0
    Thanks

From the sounds of it it is in the master page section of the hierarchy, instead of the subforms. That's the only way I've come accross being able to see something and not select it when editing.
Have a check there first, because I can't think of anything else right now! :)

  • How do I lock a pdf except the signature field?

I'm using Acrobat X Pro. I want to send a form for others to sign, but I don't what the signer do anything to alter the contents of the form except signing. Can I do that? If I can, how? Thanks!

You can certify your PDF (provided that it does not have any signatures yet). However, the permissions granulation in Acrobat UI does not allow you to distinguish between signature fields and other field types. So, if you allow others to sign this PDF you also allow them to fill other form fields, which is not what you want. You need LifeCycle solution that has more granular permissions handling but this is an expensive piece of software. If you distribute many PDFs like this it may make sense for you. If your volume does not justify this investment you can do the following:
If you do not have other signatures you can flatten your PDF form (Google "flatten PDF form in acrobat x" to learn how to do it), add one or several new unsigned signature fields, certify with "form fill-in and signing" permission (this PDF does not have any form fields other than signature fields anymore), so that the content cannot be changed and send it to the signers.

  • Problem with the Signature field

    Hi All,
Good day. I am having problem making a script work in the Adobe LiveCycle. Basically what I am trying to achieve is lock most of the fields on a form when the signature field is click. Note: Not all the fields should be locked. I then wrote a sample script with one of the field as follows:
    if(employeeSig.rawValue !=null){
       EmployeeLastNa.access = "protected";
But surprisingly it does not work. I have placed this code on the Click, PostSign, and even PreSign events, respectively, but it does not work. I am just wondering what I may be doing that is wrong.
    Thanks

    Hi -
rawValue does not work on signature fields, so that code will do nothing.  Use the collection feature in the signature panel to lock particular fields:
Create a collection then modify it to lock whatever fields you need.

  • Signature field

    Hi,
I´m new working with liveCycle, and I would like to know how it works at technical level.
I have read documentation but I can not understand the procedure to generate the digital signature, I think that i need to put a signature field in my form and implement LiveCycle Digital Signature, it´s right?
I appreciate someone explain a bit about it or send a link to a page with detailed information or example.
    Thank´s!

You simply drop a signature field onto your form and when it is rendered the user can click on it and sign with the appropriate method. The LC Digital Signatures is used to validate signatures when the forms are submitted. The LC Digital Signatures can also be used to certify the document (server side) before sending it out.

  • Issue with Signature fields

    Dear All,
I have 3 signature fields on a form that I have just completed. Each of this signature locks each section of the form, but whenever one of this signatures are signed, it shows a message that reads, "Atleast one of the signatures is invalid". I then unchecked the locked all fields check boxes of all 3 variables fields  that controlled the fields that need to be locked, and the invalid signatures disappeared, however, the three sections need to be locked when each signature is clicked on. And it works fine, but for this message.
Does anyone knows why it is happening? And what's the solution. I need help.
    Thanks
    Tammy

    Hi guys,
Actually I found a way to do it...
You can create a button with the reset form action and then select all the signature fields only.
Otherwise what I did was was added the same action in the signature field, but on the Mouse Down function. What happens is, the author can clear the signature and the other signatures will still be there, BUT when he clicks to resign, then the other signatures get cleared and the document gets saved with only the author signature.
It's not exactly how I wanted it to work but it does the job none the less.
    1. Funny how this has been overlooked.
    2. Funny how all these members with so many points haven't figured out how to do this

  • The document signature field is repeatable

I forgot to mention one other item. If for some reason it is not possible to do this with a button, is it possible to disable or set to readonly the control?

    Hi,

    field.access = "readOnly"
    Hope this helps.

  • Javascript Code to List all Signature Fields in a PDF Document

    Hi everybody,
I am doing a VB.NET application that apply a digital signature in a PDF document.
My VB.NET application invoke a javascript file that signs de document. It's working very well, but I need to pass the field name to place the signature, and this is not good!
I would like to list all the signature fields existing in my PDF file, is it possible do this with Javascript? I couldn't find in the Acrobat 8 SDK documentation.
I have installed Acrobat 8 Professional in my machine.
    Thank you in advance!

    Nobody knows?
    Help me please!
I am reading something about a method called "event.target.name" that probably do what I need, but I couldn't use it. Am I in the right way? Any ideas?

  • Is there any way to add a digital signature field at the end of forms?

I am trying to have my patients fill out the mandatory forms online and have them sign it aswell.
    any help would be great.

You can easily create a form in FormsCentral that your patients can fill online but FormsCentral doesn't support signature field.
If you must have a signatures then you can have a look at http://echosign.acrobat.com.
You can still use FormsCentral to create a PDF form that you can then use with EchoSign but you won't be able to gather data in FormsCentral.
