Why is the connectionUri different in WSManConnectionInfo object for exchange and windows?
For exchange the connection uri used is :
The WSManConnectionInfo object is created in the following way:
WSManConnectionInfo connectionInfo = new WSManConnectionInfo(new Uri("http://machineName/powershell"), "http://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.Exchange", ExchangeCredential)
To connect to windows, the uri used is
'http://machineName::5985/wsman '
The WSManConnectionInfo object is created in the following way:
WSManConnectionInfo connectionInfo = new WSManConnectionInfo(new Uri("http://machineName:5985/wsman"), "http://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.PowerShell", credential);
Why is there a difference in the connection uri for exchange and windows?Hi Cmm user,
You can refer to WSManConnectionInfo Constructor (Uri, String, PSCredential) to understand.
uri: The URI that defines the connection endpoint where the remote runspace is opened.
shellUri: The URI of the shell that is launched when the connection is made.
credential: A
PSCredential object that contains the user account that has permission to make the connection.
For connection to Exchange server, please refer to this article to understand:
How to: Get a list of mail users by using the Exchange Management Shell in Exchange 2013:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff326159(v=exchg.150).aspx
For connection to Windows server, the uri is as the ConnectionURI, which Specifies the connection endpoint. The format of this string is:
<Transport>://<Server>:<Port>/<ApplicationName>
I hope this helps.

Nokia 5800 - 'Mail for Exchange' and 'Nokia mail'....
Ok may be a silly question but while looking through my 'installed apps' on my 5800, since i was thinking of 'clearing some stuff out' to make that little bit more memory on the phone (Currently I'm ~ 3/4 full)
I noticed that although MOST of them (games etc) are already on my memory card there's a few stuck on the phone.
Many I guess can't be removed (such as 'Symbian OS' stuff, 'OVI Maps' or other 'OVI Store' stuff) but what about programs that seem to be 'duplicates' (i.e. seem to do the same thing) ??
Why should I have 2 'Map' programs or 2 'Email' program etc ??
In particular - why should I need to have 'Mail for Exchange' AND 'Nokia Mail' installed at the same time. Both are ~ 1Mb each and both seem to be related to 'Getting Emails onto the phone'
Can't I just stick to one one them - say 'Nokia Mail' & remove 'Mail for Exchange' ??
Doinf so will only free up 1Mb of phone memory, but it'll help - or does one program rely on the other ??
Thanks in advance
P.S. I've just noticed there's a couple of other programs 'In Phone memory' that seem suspicious.
One is called 'Chinese Lion (164Kb Supplier: QTEL) and the other is called 'Diamonds' (102kb Supplier: WANGP) - anyone know what these are ??
Motto: Illegitimis non carborundumMost users don't need both, but each has a different purpose which is why both are offered. Nokia Messaging is Nokia's in-house push mail service available for all consumers (currently it requires a certain type of operator subscription, but I understand that is about to change so that it is open to all). Mail for Exchange is primarily for business users whose company uses Microsoft Exchange for corporate mail.
Likewise, you don't need to Maps apps - GPS-equipped phones always have Nokia/Ovi Maps preisntalled, unless youe phone is an operator-variant from a network which has its own GPS service or you bought the phone second-hand from somebody else, I don't see why it would have another similar application.
For general memory management, this post which I made in reply to another user with memory issues may help:

E72 Mail for Exchange and Hotmail
Guys,
I am new to the nokia family and I just acquired teh E-72, though it gives me some headache, I am not willing to give up on it just yet.
When I set up my work email account (mail for exchange) and my personal (hotmail), it works fine, but I have noticed that if I read any message on my phone it marks as read on my computer, if I deleted any message, it deletes on the computer; this happens for both accounts (business and hotmail). Is this normal? I know that on a blackberry you have the option to sync everything you do on it with the computer/server, but you also have the option not to sync, therefore, anything you do on it will not reflect on your the computer/server. Is there such an option on the E72?Are you sure Hotmail marks your emails as read when you read them from your e72? I dont think so since hotmail is pop3 not imap.

Mail for Exchange and multiple mailboxes
Good day all
I would like to know if I can have more than 1 mailbox syncd to my device.

I have tried everything now. I can download my certificate and the valicert from GoDaddy, but the Nokia phone is still saying "do you trust this certificate" every time the phone syncs.
Our firm have taken the E-phones away now and went over to windows mobile and all of them worked within 10 minutes without any errors.
The funny thing is that when you try to call nokia, they wont help you with Mail for Exchange, and it is there program
I know my GoDaddy certificate works on windows mobile phones, so It must be something with Mail for Exchange.
Every guy I talked to about symbian phones have told me they always gives problems with SSL. I am a bit **bleep**, but can conclude that Nokia is for the private consumer.

Mail for Exchange and certificate authentication -...
Okey, it works on Windows Mobile browser starting 2003 and Blackberry browser since 2007.
It's not working on these fancy linuxes (moo-boo or moeba or what it's name?)- but well, what else you can expect from poorly tested code with no compatibility or standards in mind?
I wonder what stopping Symbian to proper support certificates standarts, while they finally manage to support ActiveSync specification. Lazy programmers? Are they steal too much code from open source?

Mail for Exchange and Certificate
Hi, Can i please get some help in getting a E60 working with Exchagne 4 Mail.
How do i install a Certificate, i have carried out the following, however every time i access the our company https://server.domain page using IE i get the message or something saying its an untrusted site.
From my pc opened https://server.domain.com/certsrv and saved cert to my desktop.
Double clicked the cert and exported it as a der version.
Now in the phone \ security \ certs \authority \you can see my server cert.
Is there a step by step guide on installing a Certificate from a Exchange Server ?

Mail for Exchange and alphanumeric lock code
I have N82 and installed MFE 3.0 version. My company runs Exchange Active Server 2003 and needs an alphanumeric lock code for phone which is not available on N82.
Are there ways to enable alphanumeric phone autolock on Nseries? or is this a serious limitation for all Nseries devices? Because i found 5800 XM and N97mini which support this feature.

The missing emails are randomly selected inside or outside organization emails. Let's say few emails per day are totally missing inf MfE. What could be the problem? Mail for Exchange and SSL certificate
I have a little problem with Mail For Exchange and my Nokia N80. I have self-signed certificate for Exchange mailserver and when I am synchronizing e-mails I got always message: "The site has sent an untrusted certificate. Continue anyway ?". I underestand that my certificate isn't verified by any root authority, but if I have synchronization schedule set at 15 minutes it means I have to confirm this message four times when I am not with my mobile one hour. So question is:
Is possible to import self-signed SSL certificate into Nokia N80 and set it as trusted ? If yes, please describe me how, because I have tried import the certificate as CER (it was opened just as NOTE on Nokia), I tried to convert it via openssl to PEM (the file was not recognized) etc... Thanks for any help in advance.

Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange and CorruptedCompressedFile issue
Hi
I have an issue where a third-party vendor is using Cisco Prime management software to email zipped reports to various recipients on our system. However, when it hits our system, Forefront is tagging this as a "CorruptedCompressedFile"
and stripping it from the emails.
I've had the email sent to a personal email account and the attachment looks ok - it opens normally and there is no password. If I use Windows 7 to extract the single file and then create a new zip file, this new zip file is delivered fine to users in our
system.
We are running Exchange 2010 (14.03.0174.001) and Forefront Protection for Exchange (11.0.727.0).
The file is a csv, and one example is only 2.5MB compressed, and 15MB uncompressed.
Does anyone know what could be causing the issue here?
Thanks
PaulHI,
In general, the files that FPE is unable to parse will be scanned as a corrupted compressed file and it can be due to multiple reasons.
Please check the FSEAgentLog under %Program Files (x86)%\Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server\Data
to see if any detailed information exists.
Firstly, I recommend you to check the maximum compressed file size to make sure that it is larger than that file. You can clickPolicy
Management in the FPE Administrator Console, and under
Global Settings, click Advanced Options, then in the
Global Settings - Advanced Options pane, under the Threshold Levels section.
In addition,
files identified as corrupted are quarantined by default. You can override quarantining for these file types by clearing the
Quarantine corrupted compressed files
check box under the
Deletion Criteria
section in the Global Settings - Advanced Options pane,,
and then clicking
Save. However, it is not recommended to do this as it may cause all the files identified as corrupted are not quarantined.
Best regards,

Mail for Exchange and the dreaded 500 error!
Hi
I've recently got myself a Nokia 5800 and have been trying to get Mail for Exchange working for the past week and a half.
I've read and actioned almost every suggestion that I can find on the web but still no joy!
The jist of the problem is as follows:-
1. I created my profile which uses a secure connection and attempted to sync but no joy
2. I downloaded the SSL certificate from our OWA server (provided by Equifax to my phone), tried again, still no joy.
3. Next I downloaded a PDA emulator and configured activesync on it, after downloading and installing the certificate Activsync worked fine.
4. I can access Outlook Web access and OMA fine.
5. One of my colleagues has a Sony Ericson K700 phone and he has managed to get activesync working fine.
Becuase of the above I'm thinking that there are certain issues with the Nokia 5800 and Mail for exchange in an SSL environment.
I've had a scan through the logs on our OWA mail server but there are none that even indicate that my phone is getting to the server.
I work in an IT team so consider myselft as reasonably technically astute.
Here's the logfile from the phone.

I'm not sure whether this is relevant or not but when I got activesync working on the PDA emulator I noticed this error in the application log of the exchange server.

Mail For Exchange and Blackberry Connect
Hello.
I was a happy user of E61 with latest software update (3.x...) and had both BlackBerry Connect & Mail For Exchange installed.
I got my phone replace due to a hardware error with a new device but there's no way now to install both tools on the device.
Once the first one is installed (no matter which one), the other one dies on install with a cryptic "Update error". No other explanation given. Of course, resetting the phone and reinstalling the software other software works but now the first one exhibits the same behavior.
Anyone had any success in this area?
PS: The main reason I need both is that "Mail For Exchange" reads only my INBOX.Update:
after two weeks of boggling, it seems that this combination works:
- install MailForExchange(2.7.0)_S60_3_0.SISX
- remove MailForExchange(2.7.0)_S60_3_0.SISX
- install S60PR2_BlackBerry(6.28.1)_2.SISX first
- install MailForExchange(2.7.0)_S60_3_0.SISX
But this effectivly kills Blackberry as you only get a "RimAv" icon in the menu -

E71, Mail for Exchange and IP addresses
I have been struggling to get M4E working with my new E71 for several weeks.
While it worked immediately upon first configuration on my local Wifi access point, I couldn't get it to work away from my home office.
I'm posting this for information as it may help others in the same situation.
The set-up is a very small business with a Windows SBS 2003 server on a fixed IP address to the ISP. Using the name of the local Exchange server enabled the local arrangement. Having no FQDN, I tried, in vain, to access the server using the fixed IP address. While this works for browsing and OWA, it doesn't work for M4E.
The solution for me was to obtain a free DNS alias from DynDNS.Com - but there are other similar providers.
M4E's Exchange Server should then be specified as www.xxxx.dnsalias.com; where xxxx is your choice at DynDNS and dnsalias.com is the domain chosen (there are other domain options).
In order to enable a Secure Connection on M4E, I configured the SBS firewall to issue a certificate from www.xxxx.dnsalias.com and then 'always permitted' it on the E71 when asked. This puts it into the Trusted Certificate list.
I intend next to go on to try to set up a VPN access point - something I have yet to master!Hi hascott
You might get your domain name providor to setup an A record for your ipaddress. such as remote.abc.com points to
89.4.43.13, then set your phone to use the a record.
thats how i did it. you can setup a domain name for a few euro. post any questions you have and ill try my best to help ya.
Cheers
