Signatures not appearing

We have documents that require signatures when complete.  Recently we ran into an instance where it appeared on one pc that the document was not signed, but when viewed on another pc the signature was there.  All machines are running Acrobat Standard 8.0.  On another document the signature date was 9/17/10 on one pc and 9/22/10 on another.  In both cases the document was signed by the same person.  I should also add that if the documents are viewed in another pdf viewer (Foxit) the signatures are there and correct.  Is this a problem with preference settings in some instances of Acrobat and not others?  Or a problem with the signing individual?

With regard to the signed vs. not signed issue, if I were to take a guess I would say that you are looking at two different files on the two different computers. The signature is not going to disappear just because the file was moved from one machine to another. When the file is signed the cryptographic signature object is written into the PDF file (which is why signing requires a Save operation). You could be looking at the original unsigned file on one computer and the signed file on the other computer.
When you mention dates, are you talking about the date you see in the signature appearance, or, the date you see on the Signature Properties dialog?
The date you see in the form field is written in before the signature is created and cannot be changed without breaking the signature. However, the date on the Signature Properties dialog could be the verification time, which is a preference  the user can set (e.g. current time vs. signing time).

    I am experiencing an issue using signatures in Leopard Mail.app 3.0.
    Selecting *+Place signature above quoted text+* will only place the sig above the text if a signature is used by default.
    If I set my default signature to None -- which I prefer -- and then manually select a signature in the message compose window, it is placed below the quoted text.
    I have replicated this with multiple accounts and signatures.
    Anyone else seeing the same?

    Here's a simple workaround that seems to work reliably - will suffice until I have time to dig into the Safari 3 issue deeper...
    For all of my mail accounts that have multiple signatures, I choose one sig from the "Choose Signature" drop-down menu in the Signatures section of Mail's prefs. Be sure to check the "Place signatures above quoted text" checkbox.
    This places the chosen sig above the quoted text when you do a reply, and you can later choose any sig from the Signature drop-down menu in the reply window and it will replace the default sig, and remain properly positioned above your quoted text.
    Going a step further, create a new signature (I named mine "Default Signature") and use a space for the actual signature. After you compose your reply, simply choose the sig you want to use and it will correctly paste in above the quoted text - this is about as close as you can get to the functionality lost with Leopard / Safari 3.

But the images do not download - the rest of the text in the signature is in place - just the logo and the baseline which is a graphic file does not download.  Please help.

    I would like to ask why the signature I added to the form does not appear during print preview and in print out. I have created a form in SE71 in development system and added a signature in the graphics tab. The signature appears during print preview and printing but when I transported the form to production, the signature did not appear during print preview and printing but when I checked the form in SE71 of the production system I am seeing the attached signature.
    Please help me guys...

    Now i use adobe reader x and 9 to test my signature.
    It seemed that the signature is not verified when doc opened.
    The signature pan is not appeared.
    I checked "Verify signatures when the document is opened",it was selected.
    The signature can be verify when i clicked signature.
    So are there anyother options which i should set?

  • I am unable to sign with Digital signature using a .PFX file. The button does not appear.

    When I try to sign with a Digital signature using a .PFX file, the button to select the signature does not appear. I have JAVE SE 7 U11 10.11.2.21 platform in my add ons and JAVA Consol 6.0.33 and 6.0.35 in my extentions.
    This problem is not encountered in Crome or IE-8

    Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
    As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
    Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?

  • Blue bar signature panel not appearing

    I have a signed PDF that opens on a customer’s Windows PC without the blue bar signature panel. It was signed using Acrobat 9.3.2. When viewed on other systems the signature panel appears. Is it possible to disable the appearance of the signature panel?

    User was originally using 9.3.2 and is now on 9.5.1. The upgrade made no difference.
    I have looked at the PDFs in 9.0 and the signature panel appears. So, I'm sure its not a specific version issue.

    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • Digital signatures not working for LiveCycle forms in Acrobat Reader

    Hello, when I create a Form in LiveCycle Designer with signature fields, I open the form in Acrobat XI and save the form with extended features (File-->Save As Other-->Extended Features-->Enable Tools), but then when I open the "extended features" form in Acrobat Reader, the signature fields do not work (click the field, but no signature prompt appears).  I do not have this problem when extended features are enabled in Acrobat X.  Why do they not work when they are enabled in Acrobat XI?

    Please try the steps mentioned below to get the issue fixed.
    1) For Windows :-
    Open Default Programs by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Default Programs.
    Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
    Click the file type or protocol that you want the program to act as the default for.
    Click Change program.
    Select Adobe Acrobat for PDF and APPLY.
    2) For MAC
    Click one of the files in the Finder.
    Choose File→Get Info (Command+I).
    In the Info window, click the gray triangle to disclose the Open With pane.
    From the pop-up menu, choose an application Adobe Acrobat
    Click on Change all

  • Want insertion of Digital Signature not to require a save

    I have an issue that I would appreciate someone's help on. I have been with Adobe Tech Support via their portal. Yet I have not been able to establish whether what I want to accomplish is doable.
    What I have is a document that actually consists of several documents, which in aggregate comprises our application for persons wanting to drive for us. For the sake of this scenario please understand that the document is not to be broken up into multiple files. It is created as a single document to facilitate the management of the numerous applicants by in-house staff.
    Anyway - this form has multiple digital signatures. The department head insists on this as each section of this document has information to be attested to as original and accurate. However, we find that only the first digital signature is used to certify the document, and any additional serve only in a "confirming" capacity.
    So we have this document with multiple digital signatures, the first of which certifies the document and the remaining as "confirmation". And all of these digital signature fields are set as "required" in their properties. The form is developed and presented for testing. So we enter just one of the several digital signatures and attempt to save the file. What we expected to happen was the pop-up of a dialogue to point out that all of the required digital signature fields were not completed. But no such warning arises, and this circumstance "raises an eyebrow" or two within the firm, who expect this edit to appear.
    Based on recommendations from Adobe support I go out to the developers site and research scripting. After several hours I come away with a script that will indeed spawn a message when any digital signature is missing. However, another problem arises. After closing out the dialogue box and inserting the first of several missing digital signatures I am immediately required to save the file. The save works and here we have the form with several digital signatures still not signed. This allows the user to forward on the form to us, at which time the file will be reviewed and returned to the user for further completion. And in the event that only one of several missing signatures is entered, and the file again saved and forwarded, this scenario has the potential of being repeated several times.
    Is there any way through scripting for the insertion of the digital signature not to spawn a save of the document? Thanks!

    Is there any isight as to how this is done?
    I am currently opening a file from Teamcenter engineering, however if I try to save the file it complains there is another copy open elsewhere (which isn't true).  I have to export the file first, save it and then check it back in.  It seems to be the only area that behaves like this, as I am able to markup the document add pages,etc and save the document just fine.
    If I could remove the save as function and just use "Save" I think that this would help.
