Signatures & Rules disappearing

I use iCloud with 2 Macs and an iPhone, all synced and appearing to work well after lots of fixes to change from my mac.com to me.com.  The remaining problem I have is that all signatures and rules in mail are lost whenever I restart mail on both Macs and they are also not visible in icloud.com
New iMac and older MacBook, both running Mountain Lion, the problem started after upgrading the MacBook and thenbeing forced to change from mac.com to me.com to get all features - especially the 25GB offered to mobileme customers

I eventually turned off synching accounts

  • Mail 7.3 Mail Rules Disappear

As the title pronounces, in Mail 7.3, Rules disappear after mail is closed or the machine is put to sleep.  The disappearing rules make using Mail very difficult.
    OS X 10.9.4
    Mail 7.3

Wow - it's so nice that you care! ;-)
I use Encrypted Time Machine backups, with a single hard drive split into two partitions so that if one gets corrupted I am not left with no backups. The nice thing about this approach is, Time Machine alternates between backup partitions automatically, so you basically have two identical backups. The number of times I have had to start over due to corrupted backups is ... well not something I want to talk about ... although ironically I haven't had any issues since I switched to multiple backup partitions. So yeah, I highly recommend this approach.
Meanwhile, that won't help if my house burns down, so I also do off site backups to an online backup service for my computer and everyone else's in my immediate family. I have a sister whose house disappeared in Katrina and she lost all her photos and that was all I needed to get off my butt and get an off site backup solution going.
    How about you?

  • Mail rules disappear

Something weird ... as of midnight January 11 (moving to January 12) all my rules disappeared from Mail, to be replaced by a single rule for Apple events. The rules are still in the plist file ... it is just that Mail 6.2 doesn't see them. I use Spamsieve and everything was working qhen I went to bed last night .
I'm not sure what I have to restore from Time Machine ...
    Thanks
    Stephen

sounds like the preference file with mail rules got corrupted. you can delete that file and start adding the rules from scratch. quit mail and delete the files MessageRules.plist and MessageRules.plist.backup from homedirectory/library/mail.
Start mail and start making the rules again.

  • Has anyone else had an issue where Mail.app signatures and rules disappeared?

For unknown reasons, I lost all my Mail.app signatures and Rules on Oct 10, 2012 at about 9:00AM PST.
Anybody else see something like this?
Also, I am getting sandboxd warnings that are Mail preference related....
I am guessing that the preferences access error that the sandboxd is having is related but who knows...
Anybody seen these kinda log messages?

there also seems to be a problem with the mdworker process .... that is perhaps related to the Mail issue....

I think this is an issue with the phone's proximity sensor (the one that turns the screen off when you hold it up to your ear). It's a bug that seems to occur when you switch to another app (any app) while still on a phone call. You'll notice in Messages that the screen goes dark when you move your thumb over the earpiece/iSight camera, but not when you move your other thumb.
Simplest solution is to force-quit the Messages app (double-click the home button, and swipe up on the app). The problem should resolve itself when you restart Messages.

  • Signature field disappears in Acrobat X?

I used InDesign CS6 to create a form with two signature fields, among others. When I open the form in Acrobat X, the fields are all there. When I sign the first part of the form and then save it and then reopen the form, all the checked radio buttons are blank and the signature disappears. I was able to get the radio buttons to stay when I sent the PDF to the second signatory, but my signature was not there. They were able to sign on the second signature field and return the PDF to me. The second signature was there, but not the first one. The recipients are using Acrobat Pro for Windows (not sure which version but probably the latest) and I am using a Mac with Acrobat X and InDesign CS6.

Yes, you can create and edit forms with Standard. It won't allow you to add/edit document-level JavaScripts or add the digital signature usage right when Reader-enablinga document, however.

  • Signature Field disappears??? %#%^#

I am sure I am missing something simple, I just can't seem to get past it.... I have a form that has a single sub form which works fine, it is visible and invisible when it is supposed to be. The issue however is with the signature field.
I can see the signature field in the design view but not in the pdf view. The signature field needs to be visible all the time and is set to be so, however it disappears in the pdf view. It needs to be visible in case the user desires to sign the form manually and fax it rather than signing it electronically.
Like I said, all the properties on the field are correct, and I can see it in the design view but it disappears in the pdf view and on the pdf form. This form is saved as a dynamic form.
    Anyone have any ideas??
    Thanks-->> G

while you have the signature field selected go under object-field- presence and make it visible.. unless you have already done that than i have no idea

  • Signatures Completely Disappeared in Mail

My signatures in Mail have completely disappeared, POOF! They have disappeared from the "All" box in the Signatures tab of the Preferences.
However, when I go to Library and then Mail folder, I have a signatures folder that is full of my correct signatures and the SignatuesByAccount.plist.
So, how do signatures disappear from the "All" box, and can I get them back without cutting and pasting every one of them?

this is the correct way it should work. when i do this, the signatures stick for a while, then the account reverts to 'none' with no signatures associated with it. this happens again and again even if i re-assign them. any thoughts?

  • My signatures keep disappearing.

I have a lot of them - in three different e-mail accounts.  Mac/Gmail/GoDaddy  But they all disappear.  All Signatures retains the names of them - but the contents of each signature are all gone.  Signatures designated to each account are gone too.
The first time it happened was when I fired up a new MacBook Pro Retina a month ago.  After setting up my three accounts on it.  All IMAP accounts.  All using iCloud to work across 3 computers and an iPhone.
Second time happened today after installing Chrome on the new MacBook Pro Retina.  No idea if or why causally related.  Just the latest new thing I did - before discovering the loss of the signatures.
I used several of the missing signatures the night before.

Ok. I couldnt stand it anymore. I saved my mbox files and deleted all files and setttings in the ~/Library/Mail folder. I then recreated my accounts and imported my mbox files. Signatures seem to be saving now. I dont know what preference got corrupt, but all is well now.

  • Sometimes Business Rules disappear

    Hi.
I have a probleme in Planning. I open web browser, connect to application and see my Business Rules, after 10-30 minutes (work with form etc.) they disappear. I log off, then connect to Planning and I see Business Rules again. What is it?
    Mike.

    Hi,
I am not sure they have addressed that issue in 9.2.1, I know there has only been one patch released for that version (9.2.1.0.1) which doesn't mention anything about business rules.
    Cheers

  • Rules & disappearing (moved?) emails

        Hello,
I set a few simple rules in Mail (if it's from a social network move it in the "social network" folder, if from bank move to "bank" folder and so on) but something goes wrong.
When I created each rule a pop up asked me if I wanted them to be applied and I clicked ok.
Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Newsletter's rule worked properly, moving from incoming to newsletter folder, but others (i.e. Social network) didn't work as I expected. The rules which should move emails from twitter/facebook to their corresponding folders simply made them disappear. I can't find them in the incoming neither in the Twitter/fb folder. The email count of the incoming box decreased by the exact number of mail that should be moved.
The @gmail account uses IMAP. I have all OSX's software updated. I have a TimeMachine Backup of the day earlier which I used to extract the inbox and save it elsewhere, just in case.
Where can I find the missing emails? How can I fix the rules?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrea

NEVER mind. User error. I put them in a different folder! Gah!

  • How Can I stop signature fields disappearing on my IPAD Adobe Reader 11

Hi, I am using trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI pro. I have converted a Word document to PDF. I have added text fields, Java scripts to automatically add Todays date as default, Form Reset buttons and Signature fields. File is saved as standard save. All of the above is done in Windows 7 environment. On same computer, In Adobe Reader signature fields are visible although I do not have the means to test it. When the same  File is emailed and opened on an IPAD using Adobe Reader 11.2, the signature fields are missing. I intend to have my users access the file (and 30 others like this)  on an IPAD. Can someone advise how to resolve the missing signature field issue. It appears that Adobe do not help with such issues as it is not considered an installation issue.

Digital signatures are not supported on mobile versions of Adobe Reader. Other PDF viewers like Readdle's PDF Expert treat them like e-signature fields, allowing the user to draw/apply their drawn signature, but this is not the same as a digital signature. Adobe Reader for iOS allows you to add an e-signature, but it doesn't use digital signature fields for this feature. Instead, you tap the screen, choose the annotations icon, and then the signature icon.

  • Signature Reasons disappeared with upgrade to Acrobat XI

Our legal department uses the Certify with Visible Signature a lot.  They have all created a number of custom Reasons, which they also use a lot.  Today we upgraded a couple of them from Acrobat 9 to Acrobat XI, and their custom reasons are gone.
How do we get them back?
    Thanks,
    Susan

    Hi Susan,
    Here are the steps:
On a machine with Acrobat 9 click the Start button and run regedit
Expand the tree view on the left side of the Registry Editor dialog along the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Security\cPubSec\cReasons
Right mouse click on cReasons key and select Export from the pop-up menu
Select the Desktop as the Save in location and type "Reasons" in the File name field, and then click the Save button
    Close the Registry Editor
Using Notepad open Reasons.reg located on the Desktop. NOTE: This is one place where the basic Notepad text editor works better then other more advanced text editors. This is due to other editors adding hidden codes (such as line feeds) that will prevent the file being imported.
When the file is opened in Notepad look for the line [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Security\cPubSec\cReasons]
    Change \9.0\ to \11.0\
    Save and close the file
Copy the file to any machine that has Acrobat XI
Double click on the Reasons.reg file
Click the Yes button on the confirmation dialog
Click the OK button on the information dialog
Launch Acrobat XI and the reasons will be there when you sign
