Signatures with Graphics

I don't see how this problem is solved. I too am trying to input a graphic into a signature with no end-user joy. Whilst it works fine with Mail, my clients mainly use Lotus Notes/Domino. I too have Notes 6.5 for Mac.
The graphic does not display in the Windows / Mac versions of Notes, nor in MS apps. It works fine in Mail, but that is not what I need. Several of my Notes-based clients also use graphics in their signatures with no cross platform issues.
Any thoughts?

I tried various bogus URLs, but they tended to break things. The URL really does seem to matter--in Mail signatures at least. I think the crux of the issue is that, as you astutely observed, Mail converts the webarchive back to HTML, which means the in-lined images go bye-bye. So, unless the image is on a server accessible to the recipient, there's no way to include an image. If I were going to attempt anything further I think it would involve CSS formatting, with the image included as a background image, so it would degrade better in mail clients that don't display HTML.
That seems to make the in-lined content rather pointless where mail signatures are concerned. Maybe Safari uses it under the right circumstances, but I haven't yet figured out what those conditions are. Even if I delete the WebResourceURL key and string entirely and dump the cache, Safari continues to look for the image at its last known location. It looks for the HTML file too, but at least it is able to render the HTML anyway, from the information contained in the data node, one would assume.
So it looks like the webarchive file format really doesn't afford anything in the way of a solution for formatted mail signatures. I hate to say it, but I think the format Microsoft uses would be more appropriate for e-mail because it's essentially a multipart MIME message. Ironically, they only seem to use it as a web archive format for browsers, an application for which Apple's format seems more appropriate.
The ideal solution would be some kind of standard for encoding presentation instructions in vcard files that mail clients could either support or not, so people could just attach their vcard, and the recipient could take whatever actions their mail client supports at their pleasure.

  • Digital Signatures with Graphics - Possible?

Can a .jpg be converted to .pdf/.pfx to merge into the .pfx for a combined graphic & digital signature?
    Thanks, Teresea

    Hi,
Is the digital signature in the form of a bmp or tiff ? If yes, then you can have a BDC of SE78(Graphics Management ), which will upload the graphics to the SAP system & then you can use it in your smart form or sap script dynamically.

  • Indesign CS5 crash during startup - problem with Graphics.rpln

I work in an architectural company and already several of our computers have experienced this very rare and unusual behaviour. During start up of Indesign (not clicking on any file but just launching Indesign) it crashes with the following error:
"Adobe Indesign CS5 has stopped working"
We use Windows 7 64bit, so the first step I did - I went into Application Log which says, so appears to be a problem with Graphics.rpln.

I have tried everything I could think of - removed and reinstalled Adobe CS5, manually removed Adobe folders under %Appdata%\Local and %Appdata%\Remote folders (why can't Adobe delete those things during uninstallation is always a total mystery), changed video adapter drivers, cleaned Temp folders, everything I knew...
None of the other apps like Photoshop or Illustrator CS5 malfunction - only Indesign. What is going on?
Can it conflict with other software we use? We have Bentley Microstation, 3D Max, Office 2010, Kaspersky Antivirus and LOGMEIN installed on this computer...Any clues, guys?

Looks to me like you've never installed any of the patches. Last patch for CS5 was 7.0.4, so I'd start with that and see if ti helps.

How do I use Automator to duplicate a folder with graphics on my desktop and erase their Resource forks?
I do not use command line and tried to use ZapResourceForksAMAub_1.2 which I downloadedand instaled the Zap Resource Forks.action. Next I tried to use their sample copy-zap-rsrc.workflow in Snow Leopardon my Mac Pro. The 3 different steps are displayed in Automator but there is no place to put in which folder (on my deskto) to copy, and remove the resource forks from the graphic files.
Can sombody please step me through this please please.

  • Black screen after login while on battery with graphics switching enabled

Getting a black screen after entering my password while logging into my account while on battery with graphics switching enabled. Everything is up and running, I just can't see it.
I can log into the guest account on battery
I can log into my account while plugged into power
I can log into my account on battery if graphics switching is disabled
I believe something that is starting up in my account is causing the system to switch from integrated to discrete graphics on login, and that switch isn't working correctly on battery power.
As a work around for now, I can run with graphics switching disabled, but I'd like to solve this so I get longer battery life.
    MacBook Pro Retina 15"
    Mountain Lion
    All updates applied

I had the same issue and managed to reslove it.
    Shut down your machine.
Power it back on while holding the 'shift' key (left or right, doesn't matter)
You will see a greay progress bar go across the screen while you boot in to 'safe boot'
Once booted, login, and go to Energy Saver and turn on 'Automatic Graphics Switching'.
Reboot back in to normal mode, and you should be able to log back in and see again.
I did this without being plugged into AC power.
    Hope it helps!
    Cheers!

  • Issue with graphics tearing on thumb scroll in Flex 3

We are seeing some off issues with graphics (one using the charting package and the other using degrafa) tearing on thumb scrolling in a large Flex 3 app.  It's very hard to reproduce on OSX with the latest versions of Safari and Firefox, but it shows almost immediately when you run the app on Windows or Linux (regardless of the browser).  I took one of the pieces out of the app and put it into a very simple testbed app and can't get the problem to show on Windows (i was hoping to isolate the issue in a smaller test case, but no such luck).
So, ii've got a few idea's on how to work around the issue, but i was wondering if anyone else has seen this type of problem before?
    Problem:
         - graphics tear on thumb scroll
         - doesn't happen if you click in the track or use the arrows
         - one view is using the charting package, the other view is using degrafa
Thanks for any comments or suggestions...

  • Batch create Multiple files in Acrobat X and X1 cannot convert Word 2010 with graphics

I work for an exams board where hundreds of exam papers are produced. Once approved, these exams are converted to PDF and sent to print.  Using the Batch Create Multiple Files option is therefore essential to getting these papers print ready on time.  We have found that using this function to convert multiple Word 2010 files with graphics will not render it properly.  It deconstructs the graphics which loses the integrity of the exam paper.
I have trialled the same group of files on Acrobat X1 with the same result.
Have other Acrobat Pro Users experienced the same problem?  Is there a fix?

I have uploaded the files and shared them.  These are the links

The first file is the problem file.  If you create this file separately, Acrobat will convert it perfectly.  But "Batch create multiple files" and the graphics are deconstructed on page 8

  • Digital Signatures with SmartCards.

    Hi guys,
Has anyone implemented in R/3 digital signatures with smartcards?
Currently I'm at customer side trying to implement digital signatures within workflow processes using ABAP SSF functions. The smartcard devices are already installed, but I can't read the data inside the smartcard, moreover, I can't link the smartcard device with R/3 and I don't know how to do it…
I read in some Weblogs and documents that it is necessary a SAP-certified external security product. I believe this external security product is the software that comes inside of smartcard drivers CD. It is something like a little application on which we can sign in data and put our fingerprint.
I guess it is not supposed to develop an interface application between smartcard and R/3! When I started these developments I thought that I only needed to configure some environment variables to connect these devices with R/3 and then develop the ABAP flow logic with SSF Functions - Am I right?
Can anyone provide me some guidelines for this issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

The SmartCard device is present at the frontend PC - and that's the place where the digital signature operation has to take place. Important is the "What You See Is What You Sign" principle: it has to be ensured that the data that is to be signed (using the private key stored on the SmartCard) is exactly the same as the one that is displayed to the user.
Notice: there is a different scenario where the server is signing the data (after prompting the user for userID and password and validating that information).
The signed data is then transported back to the server where it is stored (to ensure auditibility); usually you'll have to keep the (archived) data for years; the public key need to be archived as well.
Notice: it is possible to attach the certificate (-> public key) which has been used to sign the data to the signed data.

  • MSWORD templates with graphics look pixelated

When converting Word templates to PDFs with both text and graphics, the text renders fine in the PDF, but the graphics look very pixelated and fuzzy and ragged.  Have tried both .doc and .docx files, and with graphics as JPG and EPS files.  Same results.
    Any ideas here?

They do print pixelated.  All content looks crisp in the word template, but any graphics still show as pixelated and ragged when PDF-ed. Smoothing is turned on.
Thanks for the tip - any other suggestions?

  • Pdf (with graphics and text) in the email body

When I place an pdf (with graphics and text) in the body of my email using Mac Mail my recipient sees them as attachments only. I am trying to find a way of presenting a formatted email with graphics that will appear the same way to all recipients, but a pdf frequently ends up being an attachment instead of staying in the body. The pdf  file doesn’t seem to always show up in the body as created. Is there a better way to accomplish this?

You have no control over how your email maybe rendered by other email servers and client side software.
Attachment Tamer may give you a few more options but it does not guaranty the end result.

  • How do I save emails with graphics into documents appear as broken page tried saving as html and all files

I am using Windows 7, and ISP provider is AOL 9.5 dialup.
When I attempt to save emails with graphics to My Documents,
any graphics, usually in body of email as a bitmap or jpeg file, when I reopen email from My Documents, the graphics appear blank, as if a broken/torn page. Is there some settings I need to adjust on Firefox to be able to save complete files.

I'm not a Mac user, that's my caveat, however there is a button on the ribbon for SharePoint Document Libraries on the Library Tab called Connect To Office.
If that works with Office 2011 you'll start seeing your SharePoint site as a place where you can store documents in Office.
Otherwise, you need to click "New" in teh library itself and have SharePoint open Office for you.

  • HTML Signature with logo does not display when read by clients

I have had this problem for a while now. I am using 10.5.6 and Apple Mail to send all of my emails. I have only one signature for my business email account which is a GoogleMail pro account. I have set up a signature to display my business logo which is sent with every email sent using Apple Mail through the business account with Google.
It seems that all of the emails read by clients only show the text in the signature and not the logo??? This is infuriating as the message should display fine. Is Apple Mail incapable of sending signatures with logos? I previously sent message from Google in Safari but Google do not yet allow you to create signatures with logos, which is why I thought Apple Mail would be able to simply do this.
Can anyone suggest a fix or recommend a decent Email Application that will do this. Is Thunderbird any good?

Well, note that there is no e-mail client that can ensure that your logo will show up in a message, because the recipient controls how e-mail displays. Some people will have HTML display turned off, which means only a plain-text version of your message will be seen. Other people's clients may not show attached images inline. And if the logo is not attached, but is located on your web site and linked to from the e-mail, most e-mail clients have an option to ensure that such images are not loaded. (The reason: this is a common tactic used by spammers to verify addresses... if your e-mail client tries to load the image that is linked in their system to your e-mail address, then they've hit a good address and will start hammering it hard.) Thus, you need to make sure your signature is acceptable in plain text, since no matter what you do, that's all some people will see.
That said, go to Edit -> Attachments and make sure the Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments option is checked. This should ensure that any images in your e-mails will be readable to Windows clients.

  • Socket with graphics

    hi folk
i have project to create client server program with multiuser
i know how to deal with threading server by bassing messages
but what about if all client will share the same board ( applet with graphics ) how can i deal with that ??

You have to express what the "board" means in a manner that can be passed over the socket.
For example...if you're writing a shared whiteboard type applet...then you could express the image or changes to the image on the whiteboard as lists of pixels, and then send those lists over the socket.
I guess you could also serialize the image and share that, but that sounds to me like it would be harder to synchronize between clients.
