i'm a new mac user and i just got this mac off a friend. i am trying to download a new app we are testing before release and i keep getting this message, "This app will not be downloaded to this iphone because the signer is not valid." I have checked all the settings and everything has my name on it including everything to do with itunes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Signer not valid for Ad Hoc deployment

I got my certificates, got everything working fine.
I'm trying to deploy and Ad Hoc, but the ipa only sync on my iPhone, it wont sync anywhere else, and it throws this error:
The application XXX is not installed on iPhone XXX, Becuase the signer is not valid.
I've been publishing it a thousand times to try fix this, not lucky so far.

Even though I had followed these (and similar directions) many times, I was still receiving the same error. However, I spent time reading info on the Apple iOS forums and found a person who recommended a solution to several people who were having the same problem, but with Xcode. The solution worked for me so I thought I'd add it here, just in case
"I found something that worked for us.
First I removed any versions of the application from iTunes. Then I did the following,
1) Drag the mobile provision file to iTunes (it seems like nothing happened but continue on)
2) Sync the iPhone (again nothing should appear any different)
3) Drag the app to iTunes
4) Sync the iPhone a second time.
My guess is that the sync'ing algorithm is working differently depending on what version of iTunes you are using. On some versions, it will use the embedded.mobileprovision and on others the .mobileprovision must already be sync'd on the iPhone prior to sync'ing the app.

"Email address not valid" messages

When creating new accounts on websites or making purchases with Safari 6 with very typical fields to complete, I frequently get error messages, especially "Email address is not valid" or "Email address is not in a valid format". In these cases the email is not mistyped and it IS a valid email address. I also have occasionally run into similar issuses with the form saying that my CVC number from my credit card is not valide (also when it is not mistyped or incorrect). Help. This is extremely aggravating.

In the past couple of months, various websites where I need to enter an email address, are giving me error messages saying that I need to enter a valid email address. I am using a .me address, but I've tried .icloud, and .mac. I've also tried other Apple email addresses, and I get the same rejection.
What is going on that websites are rejecting Apple mail addresses? HELP!

Boxed LR5 upgrade serial number invokes "not valid" message

I've been an LR user from version 1. I buy each upgrade in a box, this time, only after the trial expired.
It's from Amazon (not marketplace), so should be genuine. I'm logged in with my Adobe ID, and Adobe registers my ownership of the LR upgrade, but the programme rejects the serial number as "not valid". Thanks for any help.

Are you running an official Firefox version from the Mozilla server?<br />
Only such a version will allow to send crash reports.

"serial number not valid" message

I am trying to RE install photoshop elements 11 in a computer that HAD it last week, but a PSE Upgrade caused my hard drive to crash - HELP!!!! I have downloaded version 13 and I don't want to use it as it would cause me to upgrade my Mac platform to a very slow "Yosemite", so I downloaded PSE 11 because it is compatible... PLEASE help...

I am trying to sync my 5th gen. nano. However, I keep getting an error message. The message says: The iPod, "whoever's" iPod cannot be synced. The file format is not valid. Don't know what to do except restore factory settings.

I could not find anything on this particular problem on apples support site. Any suggestions would be greatly apprecaited.

Are you manually syncing or automatically syncing? If the latter, try syncing manually.
If you are getting the "the file format is not valid" message, suggest that you check out KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/sp569 which will tell you which files are "acceptable."

Why is T-Mobile contract-free iPhone 6 not unlocked , showing * SIM not Valid* erorr outside of US?

Just before Christmas I purchased my iPhone 6 64 at full-price from the Stonebriar Apple Store, TX. At the time of purchase, I indicated several times that I want to use my phone outside of US and Apple Store representative assured me that my only option was T-Mobile contract-free iPhone which came totally unlocked and I would be able to use it internationally with no problem. I used my phone about 3 weeks in US with my prepaid AT&T SIM card without any problems and I was the happiest with my purchase but since I came back to my country my biggest nightmare has started : Just arrived at airport trying to use my local SIM, I faced the *SIM not valid* message due to a *Activation Policy*. My awful experience just started with both my family and I had the most frustrating time trying to find each other at airport. The next day when I called Apple care and explained the situation the adviser told me that although I bought the phone contract-free, my phone is now locked to AT&T and I had to contact them. I contacted AT&T several times spending countless hours to explain the situation and I spoke to near 9 different people including a manager ; at first they did not even believe me and they told me that it is impossible for AT&T to just block ppl's phones just because they activated their phone with their SIM -and it is totally making sense- but I insisted that Apple Care told me that my phone is locked by them and this is evident from their system. Anyway, one of them suggested me to request unlock my device via ATT website and I waited 4 days for their response till I received the denial because according to their record I used my prepaid service less than 6 months and I am not eligible for unlock request!!! Angry me called them again and after being on the line more that one hour, the adviser told me that my phone is not locked by them and it is actually Mercury who did this and they are the one that I had to call - at that moment I remembered that the night before I just tried my T-mobile SIM in my phone for few seconds to see what would happen and that's it - no service no activation ! When I called Apple this time and after speaking with at least 3 different pple, they told me that their system is actually unable to show which carrier has locked the device and they could only see which SIM card is the last one used in the phone and the problem is merely because of a latent Activation Policy that some iPhones can be used only in US and nowhere else and in US you may use it with different carriers but it does not mean that the phone is unlocked, and my only option is to contact the Apple Store I made my purchase to see whether they can(!! it is up to them to do it, they can easily say they can not) exchange the phone or not ! I told them that it is impossible for me to go there because I will not come back to US in next 9 months and I do not have access to any apple stores in my country, but this is the only thing that they could do , to say that they were sorry for the inconvenience.
The sad part of story is that after waiting 2 weeks without phone and spending more than 100$ to make international phone calls, this is the only answer they had for me. It is very hard for me to believe that Apple does not have any control over their own Activation Policy and for some one with my situation they are completely clueless. Apart from being frustrated, I am very disappointed with Apple and their costumer care because the advisers seemed very confusing or maybe they themselves were confused even more ! It is very abusive and it is like that I am robbed almost 1000$. Please help if you have the same experience or if you suggest that it is a good idea to file a complaint !

I managed to chat with an Apple Online Store representative, and he assured me that if purchased online it's completely unlocked from day 1...
So i guess that counts as official confirmation.
I'm still worried though, something is not right with all this contradicting information, or it's probably just marketing!
I know they are in the business of making profit and I myself work in an Apple related business, but i have to stress that there are moral and freedom-of-market issues with locked phones, they really are illegal in many countries (correct if you ask me).
Locked phones paid full price is troll, really makes no sense at all!

CS3 license not valid

I I am having the same problem!
I've bought a new Mac and uninstalled CS$ from that system. Now on the new Mac, I keep getting Licence not Valid messages. I have tried enetringthe original lic from the CS3 design Premium and with the hope that I can then enter my licence for CS4 Upgrade, which I have here. All licences are proper purchased legal licences.
Trying to get help is a joke and totally unproductive. Ay help from a real person would be appreciated.

Hi Jeff, Sorry for not responding sooner, I've been out of the office for a few days. This is the ,message I am getting:
I have owned official copies of the various Adobe programmes since the 90's then got CS3 Design Premium and then followed up with CS4 upgrade. So I have the boxes and the serial numbers on the backs of the cases. I've tried entering both the original CS3 details and then tried the upgrade details and they both come back with the error message.
Re your comment regarding "registered serial numbers under my account, maybe this is the issue, but I'm pretty sure that I've never registered before and maybe that's the issue? But then why is this happening now?

Reason and Prerequisites
For the check of the bank account number in Sweden, there is no unique check algorithm. The banks use different check procedures, which are not published and cannot therefore be implemented. As a consequence, you may use bank account numbers which are indeed correct, but cannot be recognized as correct.
Solution
If the system generates error message AR124 during the check of a bank account number, you can define this message as a warning message in Customizing (transaction OBA5). You may also completely deactivate the check of the bank account numbers for Sweden (transaction OY17, deselect the 'Bank data' field).

SIM not Valid after factory reset using a non-US SIM card

I bought an unlocked iPhone 5 at a US apple store. It worked fine for two years until factory-resetting it. Now, during the setup process I get a "SIM not valid" message. I tried an iTunes restore to no avail. I called Apple support and was escalated to two different "experts". I got two very different answers:
Expert 1: an unlocked iPhone can be used internationally but can only go through a factory reset with a US SIM card. Since you don't have one you will have to come back to the US, get an American SIM card, finish the setup process and then you can get back to using it internationally. There is nothing we can do here at Apple to bypass this procedure.
Expert 2: Our database shows that your phone is indeed unlocked and is available for use with an Israeli carrier (which is the carrier I am using now). Either the SIM card is defective or there is a problem with the hardware of the phone. Please ask for a replacement SIM card from your carrier and if this does not solve the problem you can send it to the US for repair. The repair will be costly.
Obviously neither of them is solving my problem. Is there another solution? Is it time to make the switch to an Android device?

or even better see if one of your friends / family has a working phone with a nano SIM

If it works = corrupt SIM most likely
If it does not - please let us know and we can brainstorm further

Your phone was hacked to unlock it. The update has now re-locked the phone to the original carrier. Contact the carrier it's locked to.
Note that a hacked phone may never be able to complete a legitimate unlock. You may now own a brick.

HT1937 I hit upgrade on my phone and now it says sim not valid on my phone.

Been having troublegetting the phone to read the sim card.

If you're getting a "SIM not valid" message, then most likely your iPhone was hacked to unlock it from the cell carrier and the upgrade has removed that hack, causing your iPhone to lock back to the original carrier. Only that original cell carrier can authorize an official, permanent unlock, so you will need to contact that carrier.
