I need to Update CATSDB table manually.
Say If an Employee enters the leave data like CL, SL etc., through Portal, that is coming into R/3 and my IT2001 is getting updated.
But when the Same employee logs in using his Cats Id into CATS for time sheet entries, then those booked as well as approved days are not getting reflected and allowing the user to enter the data. After that it is throwing the error.
My Requirement is Those records should get displayed in Cat2 T-code defaultly. So, I need to update my CATSDB table manually.
So, as COUNTER Field is updated by the System itself, I want to know its significance. and please let me know how to do this???

In one of my report I need to extract the status of a equipment from JEST table, the field is STAT. Incidentally the table contains other two fields INACT and CHGNR.
I am not getting the meaning and significance of each of the fields in this JEST table. Can anyone tell me the significance of this STAT field and its possible set of values.

If you need to extract the status of a particular object, you can try using FM: STATUS_READ with the object number and 'X' for Only Active.
Coming to your question, Field INACT of table JEST identifies whether the status is currently active or inactive. Field CHGNR determines the sequence in which the status'es are changed.
Possible set of values determines on the Status Profile which is configurable and differs from System to System.
Check in table TJ30 with the status profile to know the various status'es defined for the profile. For their descriptions you can check table: TJ30T or alternatively you can try view V_TJ30T.
So for your sequence i would advice:
1. Execute FM: STATUS_OBJECT_READ with Object Number to retreive the status profile.
2. Execute FM: STATUS_READ to extract the active status of the object.
3. Extract the description of the status from table TJ30T with the status profile and status.

Counter field in database table

Am just thinking about how to solve a little problem which is new to me in PHP, but I'm hoping not to complex.
Basically, I have a database of holiday resorts, and my client would like to keep track of how many people click through to the resorts own website from our website.
So I was thinking if I have a field ClickCounter, initially set to 0, would there be some way to have a link that, once clicked on, would increment the ClickCounter field by 1.
If anyone could help me get started with this, that would be much appreciated.

in this scenario when we want report according to student no its normal we would get, but when we want according to attendance,marks we dont get report according to attendance and mark, so we put all those fields in key fields.

"Field" isn't a standard database term. Some people say "field" when they mean "column", but I don't think that's what you mean ("How do you count the multiple columns of a column .."). Do you want to know how many times a column is used (as opposed to NULL), or the number of different values in a column? You really need to show what you want.

Custom field handling in CATSDB table through BAPI

   In BD64 you can do the segment level filtering. Go to BD64, search for your distribution model there drill down to "filter settings" the make the required segment filtering.

Get Field Values from Table using Java api

I am using the example java code "RetrieveLimitedRecords" that can be found at :

The code give the expected result and retrieves the record count for the main table
Now I want to get the values of the fields for one record
I added the lines:
Record[] records = recordResultSet.getRecords() ;
FieldId[] fields = records[0].getFields();
System.out.println ("Field Length = "+fields.length);
and the output is::
Field Length = 0
How can I get the fields of the record and read their values?

Assuming you want every field, the equivalent of "SELECT *" in SQL, you can use the RepositorySchema object to get a TableSchema, and with that get all FieldIds for the table.
If your RepositorySchema variable is rs it would be something along the lines of:

ResultDefinition rd = new ResultDefinition(mainTableId);
rd.setSelectFields(mainTableSchema.getFieldIds());

But "a.changed" is not a field in GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG. what i am doing in this procedure is i am collecting bulck data and validating field by field from GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER_CHG with GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER table as their structure is same.. if v_name is not same as v_name_chg then i am setting changed flag to "Y" changed is "changed dbms_sql.varchar2_table" and updating GNMT_CUSTOMER_MASTER in bluck where changed flag ='Y'...

Challenge:
1. Delete / Remove login_ids from a string found in one or more of the fields in Mocha table
Example: the following string contains login_id '293841 I would like for the customer support to give more immediate feedback' , remove the login_id in the narrative field which could be PE4, PE22. or PE28
2. Count the response or narrative field for each column after the deletion is completed

Error while adding user fields to user table using vb6.0

Hi,
I am adding a user tables using vb6.0 using DIAPI.
I am able to add the user table successfully.
I am getting the following error when i am adding the fields to the table.
"The metadata object for this object cannot be updated, since it's ref count is bigger than 0."
My code is as follows:

    oUserFieldsMD.Description = vTableFields(1, lCount)

This error does not come up when i try to add the field to my table using the vb sample provided by SAP.

Hi Satish,
The problem is that you added the table and the objetc that you used to add the table is not freed properly. You need to free the object and then the reference count to that table will be 0 - which will enable you to add the fields
e.g

Database Access in Java (Count field incorrect)

Was given a stock tracking application to be edited for use as a Student/Admin login application which accesses a database and adds/deletes/edits student information. When I try to login, I get the following error: [Microsoft][OBDC Microsoft Access Driver]Count Field Incorrect

If I am missing what you are asking then please provide instructions as to how to find this error information. You are posting the error message for the exception but not printing the stack trace.
Far as I can tell you are printing more information with each exception (for example "Exception creating Users table") but you did not post what that was, that info would localize the problem.
As a guess the problem is when you extract the fields via the query. You are using named values rather than indexes and you use "select *" rather than specifically naming the columns. Some databases (for example Oracle), require that using names must be in exactly the same order as the query returns them. You have no idea what that order is because you use "select *"
Finally it would be a LOT easier if you wrote classes that did nothing but the database operations. NO GUI CODE. You then test that code to make sure it works. Once that code works then you write gui code which uses those classes. Besides making it easier to understand you are also more likely to get assistance since there is less code to look at.

How can I resolve Exception : "Count Field Incorrect" error

I am experiencing with "Count Field incorrect" error. What's wrong with it? How can I resolve it?
This error is occured at UPDATE function of SQL. My JSP page is to update the old record.
Sometimes, "Update statement error" message appear. These two problems I always confusing.
