Significance of O_ and H_ markers?

All,
I converted content from Word to FrameMaker by copying from Word and pasting into Frame, then applying a Frame template and if needed, 'manually' applying styles. When I open the resulting Frame file and view the Markers pod, there are a lot of markers that start with O_ or H_ followed by a number. They are all of type "Cross-Ref," some appear at the end of a term, and others appear at the beginning. Generating a PDF of the Frame file, I see that these cross-references don't actually work.
I'm assuming that:
Frame automatically assigned these marker IDs when it saw a cross-reference in the copied content from Word.
Frame randomly generated the marker numbers to create unique IDs
These cross-references might work if I could provide Frame with some piece of information it is missing.
My questions:
1) Does anyone know what, if any, significance the letter (O_ or H_) has?  Is it randomly generated or does it actually mean something?  The Frame documentation I have makes no reference to O_ or H_ markers. Any thoughts are most appreciated! (Or pointers to existing docs that discuss this.)
2) Aside from deleting and re-doing all these cross-refs in Frame, is there something I can do to get these cross-refs to work?
Thanks for any help!
Susan

They are actually unresolved cross-reference.
If you have noticed, whenever you open a word file and write something and try and save, the default name it takes to save is always the first line.
So i think they are the default character set for a word insertion in frame.
You need not to delete them, just create your own Cross-Reference markers and apply them.

  • Is there a way to detect motion and set markers automatically?

My video includes walking around with the camera.  I walk, then stop and hold the camera in one area, then pan, then continue walking (and repeat).
While panning, there is some annoying flicker of vertical objects (beams, poles, whatever).  I can use a horizontal fast blur to fix this, but I only want the blur applied when there is panning (not when the camera is relatively still).  Doing it manually is cumbersome.
Is there a way to detect when motion is going on (over a certain threshold)?  I would like PP to tell me when there is significant motion, and place markers in the points where it begins and ends (when motion goes over a threshold and then when it falls below the threshold).
    Thanks, experts!

One thing you can try is to bring your footage into Prelude - it will lay out the entire clip so you can see thumbnail snapshots for the whole clip at once - that might give you a good start to see where there is a lot of motion.  Then, you can add markers very easily at all of those points - and when you send it over to Premiere, the markers will show up on your clip.
Not automated, but a good workflow to achieve what you are looking for.

  • Can't get in and out markers to work

In Pro 7, I can't find the In and Out markers on some clips I've downloaded off Limewire. When I go File:New audio and record blank noise for a few seconds, the markers appear. How can I get the markers and trim down my Limewire clips? Thanks
    g5 dual 1.8 tower, 512, 160hd   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I've seen a few times in the past what you are talking about. But, the in and out sections would fade in and out.
Try doing a save as to the movie and see if this makes the player a little more stable,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • X-refs and index markers in absolute paths don't work

A problem has arisen that did not exist before:
If I have added files to a book using an absolute path, all X-refs and index markers in those files then don't work. The index *generates* without trouble, but if I then try to Alt-click an item in the index that refers back to a file with an absolute path I get the error "Cannot find the file named X. Make sure the file exists." This also means, of course, that the corresponding hyperlinks in a generated PDF file also don't work.
X-refs and index markers in files added using *relative* paths work okay.
    What is wrong?
    (I use FM9 / Windows 7.)
    Regards,
    Knut Högvall

    Hi Michael,
    Yes, I use 9.0p255.
No, the files don't have to be on different volumes. They can even be in the same folder (not that they are, but they *could* be; they are in fact in separate folders, but on the same volume). What matters is how I select the file in the File dialog box when I add the file to the book. To get an absolute link, I first click the Network button, select the top volume, and then navigate down to the file. The absolute path is displayed in the book window as \\<volume>\folder\file.fm" while a relative path is indicated by "..\..\file.fm".
If I add a file using an absolute path it doesn't work; if I add the exact same file using a relative path, it works.
How do I check the hypertext content in the index?
    Regards,
    - Knut

  • Significance of "LIKE" and "TYPE" typespec in Function Builder

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the significance of "TYPE" and "LIKE" in the Type Spec field of Function Builder?
How does it differ for IMPORT/EXPORT and TABLE?

    Hi,
    TYPE
The type can be one of the predefined types, one of your own that you defined in the same program using TYPES, or a global type stored in the ABAP Dictionary The default length SL of the field f depends on its data type type.
    LIKE
The TYPE addition is designed to be the only construct that enables references to data types, whereas the LIKE addition is used only for data objects. The repository objects in the ABAP Dictionary are data types but not data objects. Outside of ABAP Objects the LIKE reference to database tables and flat structures in the ABAP Dictionary is still allowed for reasons of compatibility with previous releases
In classes only the TYPE reference can be used to refer to data types in the ABAP Dictionary. The LIKE reference is allowed to local data objects only. In local classes this includes the attributes of the class and the data objects of the main program. In global classes only the class attributes can be referenced. This applies both to data declarations and to type assignments of interface parameters and field symbols

  • AppleTV Export and Chapter markers (doesn't work)

I have this sequence I want to export for use on Apple TV (2nd generation). I have added markers and chapter markers. But when I stream this item from iTunes to my AppleTV there are no chapters.
What should I do to get the AppleTV .m4v export with functioning chapters?

I believe the only way to preserve chapter markers out of FCE is to export to a QuickTime Movie.

  • How can I get both a 16:9 p/back and chapter markers when exporting a FCE HD 3.5.1 DV-NTSC Anamorphic project to a QuickTime movie?

  • Does InDesign CC XML support Footnotes/Endnotes and Index Markers?

    Hi,
Does InDesign CC XML support Footnotes/Endnotes and Index Markers already?
Can anyone give me the list of limitations in XML to InDesign.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello MW,
First of all thanks for your reply. Yes I can create an XSLT to change the XML stream ready for import into InDesign template that we have. I have also downloaded the Refoot.js and UnFoot.js. For the footnotes I have already workaround for that, but how about the index-markers and cross-references do you have any idea on how to deal with it?
Actually I have already XSLT script that will convert XML to InDesign Tagged Text. But our client want us to use the XML embedded in InDesign so they can just export the InDesign back to XML easily. I know that there are limitations in XML to InDesign, but we need to proved to them that using XML is not good to use in this workflow because of those limitations. So I'm looking for the list so I can send to them to tell them that what they want is not doable since there are a lot of things that XML in InDesign can't do.
We have existing XML to InDesign round tripping workflow; 1) first we have the XSLT that will convert XML to InDesign Tagged text including footnotes, endnotes cros-refeneces and index-markers; 2) once the layout is final will export the InDesign document to HTML; 3) use XSLT script to convert exported HTML to XML. But it seems this workflow is not efficient to them. Can anyone suggest what other workflow for round tripping XML to InDesign.
Again thank you very much for your quick reply.
    Regards,
    Elmer

  • Podcasts and track markers

I record a podcast (music) typically using Sound Studio Pro. I usually then go ahead and "track" the podcast in Sound Studio Pro (markers), and those markers show up when I play the resulting AIFF audio file in Quicktime.
I want to then use GarageBand to add track names along with artwork.
Is there a way to create separations on the podcast track using the track markers? It's annoying to have to go back and re-track the audio every time.

If they're playing one episode then stopping, you have the shuffle songs/albums feature turned on. I know it sounds daft - but if shuffle is off, Podcasts will play one after another. However, they'll play in reverse order - newest to oldest! At least, that's what most of us seem to find.
Note though, if you turn off the shuffle while playing a Podcast it will have no effect - they'll still play one at a time. You would need to start a song, then go back to the Podcast. The same happens (in reverse) if you turn on shuffle while playing a Podcast.
I know it's weird, but try it. As soon as you start the first of several episodes you'll know what it's going to do by looking at the X of X in the display. 1 of 1 means it'll play one at a time and 1 of 6 (for example) will play them all.
I've yet to understand the logic behind the iPod's handling of Podcasts, and each model of iPod I use (5th gen, Classic and Touch) does it differently!
The 5th gen will only play one at a time which is useful since they're listed in reverse chronological order.
The Classic also lists them in reverse chronolgical order but has the option once you know the trick/secret method to play them one after the other, or not if you choose. However, because they're listed in reverse date order, they play in reverse date order, which is not very helpful so I choose the play one then stop option.
The iPod Touch (32GB) will only play Podcasts one after another without automatically stopping but they are listed and therefore play in correct chronological order. (Well - I haven't found a method for switching this off yet anyway.) Best of all, you can see how long an episode is before starting it playing and it will indicate a part-heard episode and list the remaining time of it as well.
So although you may think that Apple haven't got it quiet right with Podcasts yet (as I do), they are getting better. And of course, the iPod is the best Podcast handler I've seen so far.

  • In and out markers missing in QT Pro?

I've just bought QT Pro 7 and want to edit a movie into separate clips. I can see a timeline indicator but no in and out markers for selecting certain sections of the movie. Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Carol

Quicktime Pro can't edit MPEG-1 or 2 videos. You need something like MPEG-Streamclip a free program to be able to edit these type of videos.
