This is compatible with Mac? Especially Snow Leopard (if that is what you'e running)?

  • I use a yahoo sign-in seal and with firefox 7 it doesn't stay saved. How do I fix this?

Prior to updating to the new Firefox 7 I had created a sign-in seal that yahoo provides. This is an added security feature so that you know you are on the legitimate yahoo site signing in. In the past each time I would go to yahoo to sign in the seal would be there. Now with the update it is not saved. I would need to make the sign-in seal each time, which defeats the purpose. Are there settings I need to do in order for this to be saved all the time?

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • When I sign in to yahoo I have a custom security sign in seal that lets me know that I'm actually on yahoo and not some phoney site. Since I upgraded my firefox to the newest edition, whenever I sign off of yahoo my security sign seal disappears

Trying to find out why my yahoo sign in seal keeps disappearing every time I sign off of yahoo and shut down firefox. When I bring firefox back up and go back to yahoo my sign in seal is no longer there and I have to create a new one

Is that seal saved in a browser cookie or otherwise like a Flash cookie (object)?
You can try to recreate the seal as suggested above.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Why does my yahoo mail sign in seal not appear while trying to sign-in

Why does my yahoo mail sign in seal not appear while trying to sign-in when I use firefox only but with MS Internet explorer the sign-in seal appears with yahoo.com

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
    * Clear the Cache
Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    and
    * Remove Cookies
'''''Warning ! ! '' This will log you out of all sites you're logged in to.'''
Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Privacy.'''
Under '''History''', select Firefox will '''Use Custom Settings'''.
There is a button on the right side called '''Show Cookies'''.
If there is still a problem,
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Advanced > General.'''
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
    Then restart.

  • Can't create a sign in seal

    Afternoon all
    XP SP3
I downloaded some microsoft updates this morning, including IE8.
After updating I ran ccleaner to tidy up the registry.
My sign in seal on BTY has disappeared and I don't seem to be able to create a new one.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA
    Dave

    Morning all
After an online chat with Yahoo and 45 min's on the phone to the sub continent, I was eventually told that the problem was with their kit. I was also told that all would be well when they fixed it at their end.
I don't have much confidence in the people over there (it's not their fault, it's the system) but this morning, there is the seal I created yesterday.
Thanks all for the suggestions about ccleaner options.
I see this morning that Mr Gates has sent me another IE8 update.
    Watch this space
    Cheers

  • Sign-In Seal Problems - Mac OSX 10.x

    Hello,
Have been using Yahoo Mail from my MacBook and my wife's Windows PC for years. This morning, our sign-in seals disappeared from both computers. I got in touch with the BT Hotline folks and a technician confirmed "a new interface" had just been implemented. After checking out my MacBook via Go To Assist, the technician said all was well. No suspicious phishing going on. I then tried to load a new sign-in seal for my MacBook..... No success. Couldn't load a sign-in phrase, either. Re-booted several times, all to no avail. Tried my wife's Windows laptop.... Instant success... A new sign-in seal! Mailed the sign-in seal photo to myself and saved it on my MacBook. STILL no joy creating a sign-in seal!!! Called the Hotline again. They tried to escalate to senior technicians, but phones were busy for 40 minutes  :-(
Does anyone know what I can do next? Has anyone experienced the same phenomenon?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
I am using Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.6) on my Mac Mini and I have just managed to create a sign-in seal without any issues whatsoever.
A couple of suggestions, which might help:
    1. What browser are you using on your Mac? Have you tried using a different browser?
    2. Have you tried clearing cookies, history, etc, in case you're accessing a "cached" page?
    I hope this info helps.

  • Synching Yahoo Account With Sign-in Seal

Recently, my Yahoo account was compromised, so I changed my password and added a sign-in seal to my account on my PC. However, due to the sign-in seal, it now seems I'm not able to access me Yahoo e-mail from my iPhone.
Does anyone know if there is a way to allow my iPhone to be authorized without removing the seal from my Yahoo account?

Unlikely as its a new yahoo feature that the simple email clients was never designed to handle.
You can suggest this to Apple here, but even if successful, it may be a while.

  • Missing the sign in seal (assuring validity) for Yahoo email sign in page

The sign in seal is an option you build for sign in id and password for yahoo emails. it assures authenticity. It shows up, except on firefox. I would appreciate your comments please.
    Thanks in advance..

Specifically, it appears the information is stored in the '''YL''' cookie from the ''login.yahoo.com'' domain. Either of the following add-ons can delete all but certain cookies, for those who regularly clear out cookies but need to keep a few.

  • BTY sign in seal

I can see the logic behind this feature, but I must be missing something
Every time I upload a sign in seal the next time I go back to the sign in page its gone.  The only way to stop it vanishing, is to [wait for it] remain signed in!
    Anyone any offers please?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem setting up for another user on my lappy. The way around this is when you go to tools then internet options & click, you will then open the internet options window.
This done you would click 'Delete' temporary files, cookies etc.
Once you click on this option it opens another window on top of the existing one 'Delete browsing history'
In this window you will notice various check boxes, Temporary internet files, cookies, history & form data.
The check box at the top of this window is 'preserve favourites website data' check this box and your problem with sign-in-seal should be resolved.
Go back to your default BT Yahoo page & set up your sign-in-seal again. If the default page doesn't give you an option then sign into BT Yahoo ,sign out and the sign-in-seal option should be there. Download your pics/text or whatever, & off you go. BTW you dont need to check the box below your new sign in seal (the one below your user name/password.
Once set-up test by deleting temporary files then open up your browser & your sign-in- seal will still be there.
    Good luck

  • BT Yahoo! Sign-in seal...?

    Hiya,
Does anyone know if BT Yahoo! have killed off the security 'Sign-In Seal ?'
Because it isn't showing mine anymore when I sign in to BT Yahoo on my home PC, and it isn't asking me if I want to create a new one (like it used to) if I erased my cookies etc. I don't think my sign in page is a 'phising' page, but I'm no expert, so...
Anyone know what has happened to it and do I need to worry?
    Thanks for your time.

  • Signing and verifing an application

    Hi
We have an application contained in a jar file. We need to sign the application so that user can be sure that the application has not been modified maliciously. This is a standard desktop application which will be run on a desktop pc. We sign our jar file with jarsigner and keytool to test it. when it works correctly we buy a "Sun Java Signing Digital ID" from www.verisign.com!
but now i have the problem that i need to check the jar if it's verified on every startup as first! It's to check if nobody has changed classes in the jar to avoid the registration, for example! how can i check on the startup if the jar is verified? must i run a special method in the security manager?
    THANKS!

It makes no sense to verify the application with some code inside the application itself.
When the app is patched with malicious code, the code for verifying may be manipulated too. That is true. There is no guaranteed way except to have a secure application loader on the system already.
but it makes it difficulter for criminal persons, when
we check if the classes has been verifyed and check if
the sign is the right! if somebody wants to crack a
application and he is good, he can crack every
application(see winXP ;-)) but we can make it as
difficult as possible for the cracker! when the
complexity is bigger than the costs, most of the
cracker wount crack the application! it is impossible
to secure your application completely!I certainly understand the concern and I have read a fair amount on code signing and other security concerns, but frankly I wonder how ubiquitous this problem really is. Does this type of thing really happen?
There is already a built-in diffculty for a hacker to do this. Bob, the hacker, cannot just take any arbitrary data stream and inject or replace data into it except for the purposes of corrupting the stream to the point of making it not usable. Of course, Bob could simply replace the entire stream with his own application if he knows that the stream is an application originally (if it's an image, it makes no sense, as I'm not going to "execute" an image file, nor the OS, as it's going to open it based on file extension). So the only way for Bob to do anything useful is to first get a copy of the application, then decompile it and or profile it to see what it is and how it works and then spent time figuring out how he can change it to actually get it to do anything except not work.
There is a generally better way to handle this: MD5 or SHA digests for the application package. If you go to get any open source application these days (anything from Apache, as an example), you can get an MD5 sum for it to check against what to download. Of course, the user has to do this, but such is life.

  • Cursor has changed to a plus sign and doesn't work properly

I recently plugged my Late 2012 MBP 13" into an Epson projector (using an Apple serial port converter) and my cursor changed from the normal shape to a '+' sign.  Also, there is occasionally some horizontal lines on the screen about 1" (2cm) away from the plus sign.  I wouldn't mind the shape except it's now very inaccurate and difficult to use.  Does anyone know how to fix this type of issue?  Appreciate any help you can offer.

Cleared everything, several time over several days, no change.
Still have not diagnosed the problem and I have made a lot of changes, including re-loading M.FireFox 4.0.1 with ATT Yahoo vers. 1.8
It sometimes appears that the sign-in times out, although I tried signing in for 2 weeks and also 1 day. ATT Yahoo has a sign-in seal one can setup and use. It is fine and works only that one day or until one signs out, than it is history.

  • Which is the specific item inside the "Clear History" settings of Firefox 3.6.13 that, if checked, prevents or deletes the 'Yahoo Sign In Seal' ?

My Yahoo Sign in Seal gets deleted from the cache or wherever it is saved in my computer after I close Firefox (3.6.13) and I don't see it again when I restart Firefox and browse to the Yahoo login page.
I used to have the 'private browsing session' checked. But after unchecking it and unchecking all the items in the 'clear history' section, the Sign In Seal problem is resolved. But I want the maximum possible Privacy settings that this Sign In Seal can withstand, ie the minimum possible sacrifice of privacy in relation to the Seal. My question is, how can I do that ? Is there any specific checkbox - unchecking which (and not unchecking all the others like what I've done now) will prevent the Seal from getting deleted ?

You can't use Private Browsing if you need to preserve or access specific cookies. In Private Browsing mode the cookies from a regular session are not available. Firefox will create a new set of cookies for every Private Browsing session that are removed if the PB mode session is ended.
