Signing PDF files with my signature?

How do I sign a PDF document with my actual signature?

Hi,
You can add signatures in your pdf by following the steps below:
1) Open the pdf.
2) Tap on the pdf to bring the top bar.
3) Tap on 4th icon i.e.e comments icon from left.
4) Tap on the right most "ink pen" like icon
5) Tap in pdf where you want to place your signature
6) Sign in the box that comes up.
7) Tap Save
You will see your signature gets added inside your pdf. Let me know if that helps.

  • Having problems combining PDF files with electronic signatures...

I have Adobe Pro XI and I've been trying to combine numerous PDF files. They are each 2 pages and contain electronic signatures. When I attempt to combine them it appears to be working and then suddenly Adobe just closes with no error message or anything??

Think about it: You sign a document and then someone adds some pages to it
and pretends you signed those as well. You wouldn't what that to happen,
would you? Well, with digital signatures it can be prevented.

  • Signing PDF files with a stylus, on an i-Pad

I'm trying to find a way (one that's easy enough for my end users) to get a PDF file into an i-Pad, (a form or application for example) take it to a client, have them sign it on the i-Pad with a stylus, and then be able to print it out back at the office or email it from the i-pad (WITH THE SIGNATURE VISIBLE). Can this be done? How? Which apps are needed??
Any and all help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

First, I have also tried Goodreader. I only paid $.99 for it, but was not satisfied, mainly because it was rather hard to use and certainly extremely ugly and un-iPad-like. After looking around for a while, I settled on PDF Expert by Readdle (currently $9.99) and am very satisfied with my purchase. It can store any type of file in a very easy-to-use file system, opens images, movies, and text files, and has a great two-way Dropbox sync. Also, if you enable the built-in file sharing on your Mac, you can view and download every file in your Mac's home folder. The main point of it, however, is as a PDF Reader. Annotation, text boxes, signatures, and even are perfectly done and feel natural.
And no, I don't have any affiliation with Readdle either. I just love their app.
For what you're trying to do, it's quite simple (this is if, as I'm thinking, you have an iPad with a stylus (I would recommend the Pogo Sketch if you don't have one) and you will give it to clients for them to sign). Either use iTunes File Sharing, Dropbox, or email to get the files into PDF Expert. Then open the file and tap the signature icon in the toolbar (in-between the pencil icon and the 'A' icon). It opens up a whole new pane for your client to sign in- they can even select how thick and what color they want the signature in. Tap Save. Then, in the space where you want the signature to appear, tap and hold until a selection menu appears. Tap 'Signature' and it appears, ready for you to drag into the exact place you want it.
Then, just tap the export icon and 'email', and send it away. Practically any good PDF reader will be able to see the signature. (including Adobe Reader and Apple Preview)
Hope that helps! It's completely worth the $9.99.

  • Where should the Green Tick get displayed in digitally signed pdf files in whom the Signature has been validated ?

I have Windows 7 & Adobe 11 installed on my P.C (Apart from other Software) . Recently I downloaded Digitally Signed .pdf files & validated the Signature with Trust Certificates . However , the Green Tick Mark is coming on the left-hand side of a blue panel situated in-between the menu bar & the document . Shouldn't it be coming at the bottom right side of the document (Just above the name of the signatory) ? Is there anyway I can get the green tick to display at the bottom right side of the document or is this just the way the green tick gets displayed in current versions of adobe reader ?
This is the way it gets displayed on the top - left portion of the screen :
However , it does not get displayed in the below manner :

First of all, you need an app on the iPad that can read those files that you want to transfer. Adobe Reader and iBooks are two free apps that will read PDF files. Adobe Reader is much more robust than iBooks as it offers so many more features like renaming files, creating folders, annotating, highlights, etc.
Download Adobe Reader in the App Store. Then read this about file sharing with iTunes.
iOS: About File Sharing - Support - Apple
There are other ways to get files to the iPad, like email, DropBox and some other apps that let you mount your iPad like a flash drive.
This should be helpful as well.

  • Signing pdf dokuments with the Microsoft Surface pen. How to make the signature a non-editable part of the file?

    Hi!
I have purchased a Microsoft Surface PRO 3. One main reason for the purchase is to sign pdf´s with the Surface-pen on the screen, save the file and avoid paper-printing the documents. Problem is however that the signature doesnt become a solid part of the document when saving it. This makes the signatures randomly not visible on some apple-produkcts, some printers etc.
I use only a free-download-version of the Adobe reader. My question is if a pro-version allow me to save the documents with the electronic signatures as a fixed part of the document - like the rest of the pdf-content?
    Regards Trygve Wedset

    Hi vward26,
You can use Acrobat to make only part of a PDF document editable.
    Kindly refer this FAQ:http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-x-tips-tricks/how-to-convert-just-part-of-a-pdf-file/

  • Acrobat XI Pro - How can I have clients sign pdf docs with stylus on my Tablet PC WITHOUT having to subscribe to signature services like EchoSign?

I was told there was a "Setting" in XI Pro that would allow me to have clients sign pdf documents with a stylus on my Tablet PC (I have a MS Surface Pro 2), without having to sign up for EchoSign or any other electronic signature service. Is that correct? If so, what is the setup or settings?

There are several third party plugins for Adobe Reader and Acrobat on the market, which allow to use the display of a tablet PCs as a capture device for handwritten signatures. Some of those plugins are enabling also the combination with real digital signatures without the need of any previous registration of the signatory.

  • How to automate digital signing PDF Files in batch

I am trying to find a way to automate as much as possible the placing of a digital signature on a set of PDF documents.  We have Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1 and the machine has MS Office 2003 with Vista Business.  Here's a scenario:  A set of documents exist in a TO-BE-SIGNED folder, each unsigned.  The user uses MS Access 2003 form with a button with VBA code to open and show the first document in the folder.  The AcroExch.App, AcroExch.AVDoc, and AcroApp.Show APIs are used to do this.  I found code on the internet to do that.  Rather than having my client now have to go through all the manual steps to place a digital signature on the document, I want to streamline it to a single click if possible.  Right now he has to click Advanced > Sign and Certify > Place Signature > then click and drag > then enter his password > then click sign > then save and close the doc.  Can all this be automated?  An added bonus would be automatically saving or moving the signed doc to a different folder when it is signed.
I have created a stamp that allows me to add a stamp with just two clicks.  Can such be done to add a digital signature?  Is it possible to add a button to the toolbar to do this?  Can it be done in Access VBA using some Acrobat API calls?  Another feature I want to include is moving quickly from one document to the next in the TO-BE-SIGNED folder.  Like the arrow buttons take you from page to page, can a button be added to the Acrobat toolbar to take you from doc to doc in a particular folder?  Or can that be done using VBA and some Acrobat API calls?  To maintain the security of the password protection and yet cut down on clicks and keystrokes, I would like to input the password just once at the beginning of the session and have it remembered or applied to all the docs that get signed as long as that session is open.
I've found some software that purports to do much of the above, but they are all very expensive and assume a big business with big bucks.  If anyone knows of inexpensive software that will REALLY do this, I'm open to that as well, though I'd like to control the process myself if possible.  I consider myself a beginner with Acrobat and using API calls and would appreciate any help anyone can give.  Is the above clear and even possible?
PS:  I'm new to this site and using SDK.  I posted this under Security (thinking digital signatures) and was asked to post it here, which I'm glad to do.
    Thanks much!

Our workflow is such that on infrequent occasions, we have a digitally signed PDF file and the doctor wants to append a scanned note to it.  In the past, we could do this, but not now.  In the past, when we added the scanned doc, we received a message saying that the doc is already signed and asking if we want to overrwrite the doc.  If we respond Yes, then Acrobat would allow it and the signature would indicate that the original part of the document was not modified, but that something had been changed--namely, a doc had been appended.  The signature indicated that something had changed since it was added, but it still allowed the append.  The signature would have an exclamation point in a yellow triangle indicating the doc had been updated since signed.  For our purposes, that was okay because we know what the change is based on the original doc and we know what is appended.  Now, however, we cannot append at all.  The only thing that is different that I know of is that the doc was signed with software that is not Adobe Acrobat, even though the other software uses an Adobe Acrobat self-created digital signature.
I hope I've explained that clearly enough.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Cannot open digitally signed PDF's with Acrobat but can with Reader.

My users have PDF files that have been digitally signed by other users.
When opening these files with Adobe Acrobat Pro, it crashes the application.- a generic referenced memory error on some systems, a DDE server error on others, or a font capture error on others - not sure why the discrepancy there.
The files can be opened with Adobe Reader with no error.
We are at Acrobat 9.4.5 and Reader 9.4.5
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro 9 and verified the same result with Pro 9.0 so it isn't the version or an update.
I have verified this on multiple machines. - I have even installed both pro and reader on one machine and verified that I could open the PDF file with Reader but not Acrobat Pro.
We can open other PDF files with no problem.
I have tried disabling as much of the security options as possible but still get the same result.
If I clear the PDF file fields (including the signatures) in Adobe Reader then it can be opened in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Does Acrobat Pro authenticate the digital signatures differently than Adobe Reader?
Thank you in advance for your time.

    Hi J.O.S.,
Regarding your question "Does Acrobat Pro authenticate the digital signatures differently than Adobe Reader" the short answer is no.
However, there are other things that Acrobat can do with a file that Reader cannot, so there could be an operation that Acrobat is trying to execute (other than signature validation) which is causing the crash. You don't see it in Reader because Reader doesn't know how to do whatever the offending operation is.
That said, can you send me the file that is crashing Acrobat to [email protected] and I'll see if I can figure out what is amiss.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • How to remove password-encryption in a signed PDF file?

I can open a password-encryption and digitally signed PDF file using Acrobat X Standard but cannot remove the password protection.
Can anyone help me remove the password encryption?  The Acrobat only allows to set passsord encryption before adding digital signature to a PDF file.  Can I sign a PDF file and then encrypt it with password?  Thanks.

Removing the security, if it is possible, would destroy the signature.
Encrypting a signed PDF would destroy the signature.
This is because signatures validate the file exactly as it is, and changes to the file break the signature by design. Setting security is a change to the PDF (a big change).
