Signing Up For Safari Extension Developer Program

I am trying to sign up for the Safari Developer Program to write extensions, but i keep getting an error. This is the error: http://snapplr.com/nhrj
Please help.

Ok...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that, try accessing that page. If that didn't help...
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
Also, try restarting your Mac.

I have enrolled for the apple developer program but apparently already have an account with iBooks, cant have this it seems.how do I change my iBooks account, is this the apple id for my iPad and if I change this will it cause problems accessing iTunes etc?

I guess nobody knows if the crash that occured was legitimate or not?  Apple phone support could do nothing for me, so I guess I am left to drive 45 minutes to the nearest store.

  • Is there a purpose for safari extensions?

is there a purpose for safari extensions? is it okay to have them turned off? What important features do they add to safari?

Yes, there is a purpose. They provide functions not available in Safari otherwise. You should click on the Extensions option under Safari's Safari menu to see what's available.
It is OK to turn off Extensions in Safari's preferences.

  • Unable to sign up for any Oracle Develop sessions at OOW 2006

Has anyone with a full conference pass been able to sign up for the Oracle Develop Sessions through the Schedule Builder tool? I talked to a customer service rep a couple weeks ago, and she said there was a problem with their Schedule Builder tool and thought it would be fixed later that day, but I still can't get any OD sessions to show up.
    thanks

    Hi Jimbob59,
Thanks for posting. Can you try running a speed test? If the results confirm your connection speed is ok then
support.onlive.co.uk will help with the onlive problem.

  • Error while registering to get Safari signed certificate for the extensions..

I am a new user for Safari, I want to create an extension for Selenium, When i entered my personal details and tried to register for Safari Dev Center, at the last step of registration process, its failing, Pls help me how to get the certificate.

what key algorithm did you specify when generating the original private/public key pair?
if it was DSA, then the last i heard was that verisign does not certify DSA public keys (i believe you confirmed that as well).
if it was RSA, then it doesn't make sense to specify SHA1WithDSA as the signature algorithm when generating the certificate request. the private key corresponding to the public key (to be certified) must be used to sign the request. so the signature algorithm should be either SHA1WithRSA or MD5WithRSA, or something like that.
i don't know for sure, but verisign should support both.

  • Websites for Safari Extensions

I'm big on extensions. I believe that in order for a browser to be truly useful, it must be customized. I have run across www.pimpmysafari.com and installed every extension that I have found useful there. However, I would still like to further customize Safari. Are there any sites other than pimpmysafari.com that have Safari extensions?
    Thanks.

I'm afraid PMS is just about the most extensive listing of plugins still being developed. I don't think you'll be able to do much better by ploughing through either macupdate or versiontracker manually. If you're disastisfied with Safari, there's always FireFox.

  • Does anyone here know anything about Safari extension development?

About how much time does it take to develop a Sarari extension? About how much would it cost? I'd like an extension developer to develop a custom Safari extension for me if it didn't cost too much. Is this possible? Thank you.

There are few third party solutions for this. Try and persuade her to tick an option where it does not block any websites, but it will still log and anything you visit and this log cannot be deleted or modified. It even logs when you are in private browsing! However it is really very simple to overide parental controls.
I have had experience of this as my mum tried to do the exact same thing!

  • Shortcut for Safari Extensions

    Good morning.
II bought Wallet from the Mac AppStore. Nice password manager with an extension for Safari.
Ok, i need to set a shortcut (that simulates the click with the mouse on the button), but there's no option in Wallet Extension for that.
    Help!

    Hi and welcome...
You are aware that you have a native Mac OS X password manager already installed? It's in your Applications/Utilities folder. It's called *Keychain Access*.
But if you want to use Wallet, contact the developer for support here.
You may want to bookmark this link for future use.

  • Workaround for safari extension that are subjected to CSP?

I tried injecting an iframe to webpages with the help of a safari extension but this introduced me to an error. On reading about it, looks like the sites have to specifically allow 'safari-extension:' under their CSP response header. The sites which do not include that, will not let the safari extension work. I was wondering whether there is any workaround for the same. Please let me know. Thanks

Try going to the View menu and choosing "Customize Address Bar." From there you should be able to drag the back/forward buttons back onto the Safari toolbar.

  • Code sign failure for Safari 3.1

I used 1Password to handle web passwords in Safari and was having some problems so I ran its diagnostics which suggested a code signing problem. I reinstalled Safari from the Leopard Install disks and then downloaded the Safari 3.1 updater and ran it. The code signing checked fine after the reinstall, but failed after the Safari 3.1 update. I'm not sure what is wrong. I just ran codesign -vvvv /Applications/Safari.app and saw this:
/Applications/Safari.app: a sealed resource is missing or invalid
    /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/CacheController.nib/objects.nib: resource added
    /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/ErrorConsole.nib/objects.nib: resource added
    /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/RenderTree.nib/objects.nib: resource added
    /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/Snippet.nib/objects.nib: resource added
    /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/ViewTree.nib/objects.nib: resource added
Obviously, no app (not ServiceScrubber or TechTool or whatever) has been run that would modify the code signature. What could be causing this error?

This is still the case for 3.1.1.

  • I just signed up for the export pdf program and it just doesn't work.

I used the program to transfer a pdf file into a document file. The new doc file left out some pictures, overran lines of type, completely misinterpreted caps and lowercase letters, and whole blocks of type overlapped or disappeared. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or does this just not work properly? ...

    Hi kathrynb32616732,
You are likely not doing anything wrong. The quality of the conversion depends on the quality of the original PDF file. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.
Do you know what created that PDF? If it wasn't an Adobe app, the PDF may not be written to spec, and that could account for the conversion issues. You can tell what created the PDF by choosing File > Properties and looking for the PDF Producer on the Description tab.
Sometimes, you can have better luck by turning off OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community (but you'll want to keep OCR enabled if your PDF was created from a scanned document).
    Best,
    Sara

It won't met me sign up to the apple ios development programme...

    NO!
Because if you actually read my question it states:
"It won't met me sign up to the apple ios development programme..."
I have not even got round to uploading my application because it won't let me SIGN UP to the apple ios developer programme due to an error saying "Please fill out all required information" when I have filled out all of the required information...
Before you probbaly come up with something like that image is not mine... It is, and as you can see the error is there when I have filled out everything!

  • When is Apple going to open up the iPhone Developer Program?

I signed up for the iPhone Developer Program almost as soon as one could sign up for it. I was one of the unlucky many who got the "you are not important enough to let into the Developer Program" e-mail. That was months ago when the rumor was that they would be opening it up around the time of the WWDC. Well, it is now WWDC time. Is there any more info on this?
Why don't I use the iPhone Simulator? The iPhone Simulator does not simulate the accelerometer very well (i.e., it does not simulate it at all) and the accelerometer is important for my app. I can't even tell if my app is feasible without running some test code so that I can get a real world sense of how well the accelerometer works.
Between this and the significant issues that I am having with my MBP and Apple's lack of response, I am starting to feel that I picked a bad time to start doing Apple development.

Excuse me, but Apple clearly has decided that some application developers are more important than others. The App Store is opening up next month and I don't think they will be selling apps that haven't been QA'ed on real devices. Oh, I get it. All of the big name mobile software vendors that Apple wants to display in their App Store just happened to get randomly selected.
"Apple has no way of knowing who has real apps ..." Well, I told them that I did. I even told them that it uses the accelerometers, so the simulator wouldn't help.
You note that Apple says that there are 21k developers in a holding pattern. What is it about the iPhone Developer Program that stops Apple from just taking people's money and issuing them cookies (or whatever) that allows the downloaded SDK to load apps on real devices? Inviting people over to your house to install your app on their iPhone/iPod touch is not a very good distribution model; the App Store is needed for distribution. The limiting factor is the gatekeeper for the App Store, not a SDK that can run code on real devices. So, why don't they freely distribute a SDK that can run code on real devices?
After telling the world "look, a SDK for the iPhone" months ago, why can't Apple even give a date to 21k people who took the time to sign up for the Program when they might be able to run their apps on real hardware?
I want to do things the right way (through Apple's SDK) and I really don't like the idea of jailbreaking, but right now that seems like the only option that I have to proceed with my app development.

  • Unable to enroll in iOS developer program

I am having troubles signing up for the iOS developer program:
I'm starting at the developer.apple.com site and hit "enroll now". It takes me through two more pages and then asks me to either sign in with my existing apple id or create a new one. I sign in with my existing one. It asks "individual or company" and I hit "individual". Next, it opens up the regular apple id sign-in screen, where I sign in and hit return. I end up at my "manage Apple id page", but without any instructions, so I'm unable to continue from there. I checked my apple id and found no problems, I have name and address, paying information and everything set up like I always had, but there is no indication as to what I'm supposed to do on this page, so I leave and try again, but I always end up at my manage page, instead of being able to enroll at the iOS dev program.
Am I being completely stupid here or is there a sudden technical problem on the Apple site?
    Thank you!

I too am unable to purchase and register for the iOS developer program in Australia due to the fact that it defaults to United States and doesn't allow me to change it to Australia.  Has anyone figured out how to get past this yet?  Thanks.
